with the 354th pioneer mustang fighter group awarded the air maidle with three silver clusters and a silver star. he led the fighter squadron on the last official flight in the european theater where he barrel rolled off an austrian p.o.w. camp to signal that the war in europe was over. after the war fred returned to indiana and married his high school sweetheart midge. he graduated from purdue in 1948 and the couple had 7 children. he was married to midge for 57 years before he passed, and in 2003 he married his lovely second wife, barbara. upon entering the resource fred was operating crystal flash petroleum which owned gas stations around the state of indiana when he decided he needed a new adventure. so in 1960, fred went to the

library and he taught himself how to manufacture asphalt. his companies literally began paving what we in indiana call the crossroads of america. over the years fred gave his company its all and he grew the heritage group to more than 6,500 employees worldwide. he tackled real-world problems along the way. in fact, fred's credited with creating and promoting separate lanes for cars and trucks to save lives reduce congestion, and reduce pollution. his company's detoxified waste from circuit boards and solved environmental problems facing the steel industry. fred asked that his tombstone simply read, i tried. i tried. but i'm here to report today that fred did far more than try.

senate displeasure with various policies of riyadh having to do with human rights, it also criticizes at length, the insurgents in yemen and there comments in the war and around. chris is not often we see something anonymous with the house or senate. why was this unanimous? >> this was a unanimous roll call it was rather passed by a voice vote. it had overwhelming support by republicans. there were a few democrats that felt the language is a little neutral regarding to some of the issues with saudi arabia but they'd agreed to support this because it was the best way to send a message to saudi arabia that they are unhappy with their ruler. >> on the measure dealing specifically with yemen, rachel, take a look at this tweet in bernie sanders. it talks about historic victory. the senate has voted to stop u.s. military support for the saudi led coalition fighting in

yemen. for the first time ever the senate had voted to end an authorized war. what does this say and what changes were actually made? >> this marked the first time since 1973 passage of the war powers act. the senate has not voted to order the pentagon to end its military campaign abroad. it has to go through a number of hurdles before it can become law. and there are even questions about constitutionality that has yet to be resolved. chris and you also write an article that came out after the senate vote, rachel, defying trump. the senate ordering military to end the role in the yemen war. you're right, this is historic but symbolic and again, what do you mean by that? >> posses a procedure yesterday to ensure that no resolution under the war powers act with yemen gets a vote this year.

that basically ensures nothing congress can do nothing in this congress, which ends at the end of the year. next year, it is another ballgame the with the democrats taking control of the house. they have all but promised to bring up a yemen war powers resolution which should pass. and i believe the votes in the senate today suggests that there should be support in the senate to also pass the yemen war resolution. so that could set up a veto showdown with president donald trump as he has threatened to veto the resolution. >> your written in the past, that this is almost more of a proxy war between democrats and republicans than it is the united states against any foreign power. tell us more about that.>> while this is just another opportunity for democrats and a significant number of republicans, to express their displeasure with the presidents seemingly abandonment of
