disingenuous. >> in the coming week the house take up a revived disaster aid package and were joined by political budget and a preparations reporter. the house has already passed an aid package so why are they taking up a revised measure and what changes were made to it? >> the house passed its measure way back in january and i was before the flooding and the senate sat on the bill for a long time amid the discussion about aid and the inflammatory back and forth on that discussion and by the time the senate to get up the flooding had occurred and gop lawmaker have been back and forth of the puerto rico aid for the democratic plan does not have any aid for the midwestern floods and the democrats were like duck, does not have the aid

in it because it did not happen when you pass the bill and drag your feet for so long. now the house is taking this extra step of passing this amended bill even though it really -- the bones of what they are ready to go before basically has a way to say we are so focused on the bite and this is our lady of legislative offer in case you forgot what we are seeking from the legislative language as the senate still works out a way to get its version passed in the chamber. >> on this latest go around on disaster aid what if you heard from hostile public and leaders on potential support for the measure this time? >> well, it will definitely pass the house. really the question is what will happen with the version that they are working out behind closed doors. like i said, the bones are probably going to be the same but still some debate on what will happen with puerto rico aid and relations on what kind of

oversight measures will be implemented there in terms of making sure prairie officials spend the money in a way that federal officials think is not a waste of money. >> you and your political colleagues writing about that effort to headline on the piece, senators near a deal on disaster aid with trump on board. the picture of david purdue, senator from georgia, what has been his role in this discussion and negotiation and what is left to be done on the senate side before the deal is sealed? >> senator purdue has been talking to the president frequently for the last several months on this as the president has dug in on his opposition to x-ray for prayer we go and that is what some senate effort before so we've had several test votes on this earlier this year and neither one was successful. democratic plan failed and republican plan failed leader

mcconnell said we will pull these from the floor and the people take it out behind closed doors but in the meantime, things got more heated in the debate over particle aid. the president tweeted as recently as last month, insults against prairie reagan officials saying they were incompetent and that they just take from the united states to the chagrin of democrats who said they are not going to pass a quote, racist bill. in the meantime, the senate votes failed and things have only gotten messier but this is one of the most politically charged legislative fights of the president trump presidency so far and one of the biggest congressional bites probably besides the shutdown. that is what doctors. right now, behind closed doors the final text is basically what both chambers will hopefully be
