initiated to have the faa process and separate from evaluating any particular technical fix from the 737 max on march 19 secretary chao asked the department of transportation inspector general to conduct an audit of the boeing with the goal specifically to compile a detailed history of the activities that led to certification that is ongoing with the cooperation of the faa. secretary chao on march 25th announced the establishment of a committee to review those procedures of certification of

new aircraft including the boeing 737 max. an independent body whose findings and recommendations will be presented directly to the secretary and faa administrator on april 2nd wanting a joint authority technical review to review the system and comprises experts of international aviation authorities. the 737 max returned to service is not contingent on these reviews but rather toward systemic improvements for the future. now talk about the faa effort to safely return the seven - - the 737 max to service here and abroad. as the faa discussed for march g with that operational program to develop training related to the software. and meeting with safety

representatives for those that fly the 737 max as well as the pilot unions for those airlines. and this unprecedented meeting and it recently solicited public comment on a draft report by the faa 737 max flight board. that consist of pilots and we use that without training associated with boeing's proposed software enhancement with that multi agency technical advisory board and that includes experts from the u.s. air force nafta and the faa and none of these experts

were involved in the original certification of the 737 max the recommendations will directly inform our decision of the 727 max one - - 737 max returning to service the next week the faa will host a meeting of directors general civil aviation authorities from around the world. the activities to ensure the safe return of the 737 max to service. this meeting as part of the efforts to work with other civil aviation authorities with specific concerns related to the 737 max and in keeping with the faa long-standing cooperation with international partners. as our work continues i want to offer this assurance. in the west the 737 max will return to service only when
