democratic senator jeff merkley ended the marathon speech on the senate floor against president donald trump's supreme court nominee neil gorsuch. the oregon lawmaker yielded the floor at 10:15 this morning, 15 hours after beginning to highlight the party's opposition of judge gorsuch and listed as the eighth longest speech in senate history. senators are now debating the gorsuch confirmation going back and forth between democrats and republicans. a vote to limit debate is planned for tomorrow with a final vote scheduled for friday.
