milwaukee. behind me is the milwaukee river, which stretches from the north side into lake michigan. of course, you have all the great downtown architecture behind me. days was set here in milwaukee. were08, we decided we going to commission a statute to commemorate the fonz for everything he had done to put milwaukee on the map. as you can see, this is one of the most popular tourist spots in the city. it's one of the most wonderfully random things we have on the riverwalk. pictureske to take giving the thumbs up. happy days was definitely a slice of life of what it was

program from the 1970's. four years in a row, it was the number one tv show in the united states. it was about two ladies who worked at a brewery in milwaukee. the show was representative of milwaukee because they were a common people. they worked on the floor of the brewery, which a lot of people can relate to. they were very fun and energetic. people enjoyed them in general. it was someone everyone could look to and find a part of them in. staff cities tour recently traveled to milwaukee to learn about its rich history. www.c-span.org/citiestour. you're watching american history tv on c-span3. next, a talk cohosted by the

harry s truman presidential library and museum and the library institute on alice dunnigan, discussing her life and legacy as a trailblazing journalist. >> good evening, ladies and gentlemen. welcome to the truman presidential library and museum. i am kurt graham, the museum director. i appreciate you being here to enjoy this program and to celebrate an important legacy with us. we are in the legacy business and when we celebrate harry truman's legacy we find that we end up celebrity a lot of legacies as well, and i think that speaks volumes about who harry truman was. i want to begin by thanking some folks tonight -- the truman library institute who sponsored so much of what we do.
