us. >> the reverend william barber with the poor peoples campaign co-chair. it is at this weekend. it is saturday, beginning at 9:39. >> 30. >> and tell folks again where to because they want to join. >> you want to join us? fight your way to pennsylvania and third from third to 14th. come and join us as we declare we won't be solid anymore and that these realities do not have to exist and we can change them the. >> poor peoples campaign can be found online at poorpeoplescampaign.org, and what is it on twitter? >> go to the dot org. i'm not as good as i should be with the 20. but if you go to the daughter you also get the tax number there and unite the poor you're, not a bore. >> as you know the poor revenue. barbara, always appreciate the time, thanks so much. >> thank you. >> and it's time for open form. many any public policy issue, any political issue you want to talk about, this is the chance for your call in and leave the program.

turning the show over to you and your report. republicans charger to 74,001 is the answer, independents to go to seven 48,002. as you are calling in, i would note that it is a tuesday here and it is another primary day in this country. voters heading to the polls in a handful of states in south carolina and nevada in maine and north dakota for primary day. the washington times story noting that a particular focus on the nevada senate rate and the poor republican primary they're becoming more competitive in recent days. former attorney general, adam laxalt, trump endorsed, he is for the eight candidates alachua. i -- am brown has picked up new support and the winner of that race will face democratic incumbent senator catherine cortez masto in what the washington times notes will be one of the most closely watched races over the year as republicans seek to regain the
1:45 pm
majority in that evenly divided senate. and then in south carolina, a lot of focus there tonight on a pair of house races. republican incumbent nancy mace in south carolina one of the house members their faces trump backed katie arrington in the first congressional district miss bass is the first female graduate of the citizens voted to certify the presidential election also voted to hold former trump adviser stephen in contempt of congress for refusing to testify before the general six committee. in 2018, mr. arrington won the gop primary for the first district, but you lost the general election to democrat joe cunningham, who nancy mace and then defeated in 2020. and then in the state's seventh district primary, trump backed candidate russell fry, a state representative. well who will try to unseat congressman tom rice, who four voted in favor of impeachment following the january 6th

capitol riot. five national republicans tetanus is on the ballot there is well, but those are two key races in the portmanteaus state that are being watched tonight. with that, the phone lines areas. what you want to talk about? this is barbara, out of newport news, virginia. democrat. good morning. >> good morning, john. how are you doing? >> good. >> yes! i just want to say i watch the hearings every inch of them and it is really unbelievable about how these people see something and still don't believe it. -- trump's campaign manager all the people we are listening to and these people are still in denial. trump was not a decent person when he went into office. he was a thug when he went in. before he went in a thug when he went out out of office, and a thug when he was coming out of office. he already told people he could
1:47 pm
walk down fifth avenue and shoot somebody and they would still be on his side. donald trump, if he [inaudible] that he was lying and set up this whole scheme just -- that was not donald trump talking and that devil is somebody else. >> that was barbara. this is join us out of cincinnati, republican. good morning. >> a just a just moved here to teach political science. and a to college students, and it really is very confusing for me to get across ready on your "go"... the importance of local elections for congress, almost direct to close to the skin of voters. the elections that are coming now in the fall, when washington, d.c., is distracting them with this
1:48 pm
stalin show trial to think for donald trump, donald trump, it's quite obvious the republicans want to get rid of, like, about to. and so he will never be a issue again. but in the midst of a very important congressional election, whether they'll be a big's switch over probably from one party to the next. and we're seeing donald trump brought up in a show trial that is reminiscent of what's used to be in the communist countries. you know, we were so one-sided, if you remember the first presentation the question questioners, the congressional questioners, we're finishing the sentences for the witnesses. they told they thought the witnesses were rambling to march and it was really crazy. i cannot believe that this could happen in the united states. >> and jonas did you say recently moved to cincinnati,
1:49 pm
or did you say recently moved to the united states? >> cincinnati. >> where did you -- >> and i don't know how to make him people realize that the local government is in their hands and they should be taking care of it. but in the meantime, -- election and the republicans don't want trump again, just being left to go on and on and on and on as a kind of entertainment. it's really very disappointing. >> that's jonas in cincinnati. this is dotty in griffin, georgia, independent. good morning. >> good morning to you to. how are you doing? >> all right. >> i just wanted to make two points. cow thomas just said that the governor of d.c. has the authority to call up the national guard. there is no governor of d.c.. >> the mayor i. believe he said to me, or 20. >> the mayor does not have the authority. i looked it up.
1:50 pm
i just tucked in google, who's in charge of the national guard in d.c.. it says, the commander in chief. then it says, the joint chiefs of staff. nancy pelosi has nothing to do with that. then everybody is talking about a trial. this is not a trial, this is an investigation. if they have anything that they can take to a trial then they can have to cross examine the witnesses. and all of the people who are testifying right now work for donald trump. and i don't see why they would have any reason to lie. and i'm just tired. adjustment are just ten people. you can show them something you, can put into their faith and instead of them saying, well, you know i, might be wrong, let me look that up, they just
1:51 pm
assume that somebody told them you, know, i heard it. and they say, and who is they? >> dotty, when you say your tired, are you tired of the politics and? if so, when was the last time you were tired of it? >> well mostly, most of the time, you know, you just listen and you say well, okay, -- so and so one, so it's a lot, maybe not get better the next time, you know. and this time i've never seen anything that this in my life. and i have been watching presidents since eisenhower. because i'm that old. but this is ridiculous. >> that's 20 in georgia. this is maria, out of the volunteer state in tennessee, republican. good morning. >> good morning, john. hope you're having a very, very good. a couple of points i'd like to make. first of, all nobody may not
1:52 pm
have liked what donald trump said, they may not have liked what he did, they might law might not have liked his mean tweet. but i'll tell you, life was a lot better when he was president then what we are going through now. that's my first observation. and i just hope that the country can withstand the next two years until we have another presidential election. the second point i'd like to make is that i feel that the january six committee was doomed from failure, for failure, from the get-go. the reason i say that isn't the commonly stated point that there was disagreement about who should be on the committee from the republican side, but that the scope of the investigation is so narrow and so limited they're looking for -- their only looking at the obvious. they're not looking at what's not obvious. and i think that's where we're
1:53 pm
going to find where the truth, the actual tweet about what happens lately may they. and it's a shame our tax dollars are being wasted on this because i don't know that we will ever know since they're only looking at the obvious and not the not so obvious. so, that was pretty much all i had to say. >> leon, buffalo, new york. democrat. good morning. >> i'm calling in with some very deep concerns about the limits of political speech these days and the limit of free speech in general. i think a lot of us have concerns about cable news channels attempt are allowed to give opinions and make some make them appear to be news. and's starting that concern about this program. i've always enjoyed c-span and i'm so happy that you present us with the hearing so that we
1:54 pm
can watch in realtime, not only the january six hearings, but all of the congressional hearings i find most interesting. but when people come on programs such as yours or right-wing radio, and they are allowed to just spew nonsense, conspiracy theories, and they go completely unchecked and. i understand what your job is. but when things like that are said, a lot in front of the public forum, and they go completely unchecked, i think that only adds fuel to the fire of lies and misinformation that are perpetuated in this country. and we'll see where that leads. we had an insurrection or -- >> you're talking about guests or are you talking about colors? which are you referring to? >> i'm talking about well, both, yes, and colors. just not quite so much because he to push back to a certain extent with the guests. but the colors that are just allowed to say the most outrageous and inflammatory
1:55 pm
things and there's no fact-check afterwards and there is no pushback it is starting to concern me that is maybe doing more harm than good. >> that's leon, either buffalo, new york. this is turning out of shoreline, texas, independent. good morning. >> good morning, john. i would like to ask you two questions before i make my comments. these don't cut me off today. will you will ever cover the -- about the bidens, that their family were slave owners? and tampa to, actually biden's diary where it says that the president chose with her in the diary she said it was highly inappropriate that she was abused as a child. >> tony, do you, two things i hadn't heard about. >> you could fact check me. if you want. it's there, okay? now my comment is that i find it surprising in that ceases,
1:56 pm
csis, put out a report june 3rd, about a week before the hearings, and if you legally will port, it does say they were valve their one volume goes in the dominion voting machines it's. one page report. number two, the state of texas tonight the dominion vote machines and there's a pdf file, you could google it, and you'll see a pdf file -- about five things, why they did note the dominion voting machines because they had fallen buildings. >> so tony, did you watch any of the hearing yesterday? >> i didn't watch one of the hearings until about 10 to 6 this morning my time, when they came on and i think i seen, you know, talk about the csis report. and -- all the hearings. because i believe the hearings are a set up and just after trump they have never but
1:57 pm
little. so even if they interviewed somebody and take barr for instance, they interviewed but there's nobody to rebut him. well the guy who said julianna was drop this, nobody there. this guy, you know, dr., it -- there's no body to refute what's going on. >> all right, that's 20 in texas. this is becky pick out of massachusetts, republican. good morning. >> yes. good morning. i have two topics i'd like to discuss. i tried to call yesterday. first, topic is hunter biden and every time it gets brought up by you guys, you seem to say you have an extensive library and i would like to know what date i can look it up because i spent hours trying to find what i was looking for. and so what date it was the
1:58 pm
stuff, whether it was the date it was exposed the, date of the letter of the officials, that search it was russian information, or the date it was determined that it was real? and also, -- >> so i've got two for you. the book, the laptop from hill, covered the author of that book speaking, i believe it was a bookstore here in d.c. back on april 3rd of this year, it was a four segment we did on this program with say determine of the wall street journal, back on march 30th, taking a look at the the biden what the justice department had done so far in the biden administration. so there is a two off the top of my head that i can give you, becky. >> okay. so next one i don't know if it was you there to us on yesterday or not. but the name david hogg was
1:59 pm
brought up as a survivor of parkland shooting. he was not a survivor of parkland shooting. his first interview, and i could not make this up, he stated that he was at home, he heard about the shooting, you've got on his bicycle with his pen in hand, and peddled as fast as he could down to parkland. he had benefited -- >> picky, he was one of the organizers of march for our lives, which we covered yesterday i. believe yesterday we played a clip of him speaking about the issue of school shootings in this country. it was one of the main speakers that that event that drew thousands of folks here in d.c.. if you want to watch that event, you can do so, again, on our website. that was just on saturday, if you want to watch david hogg's speech they. this is given in plymouth, mass,
2:00 pm
democrat. good morning. >> yes, john. good morning, how are you today? >> feeling well. >> i'm calling about your last guest, cal thomas. he should never be allowed again on c-span. he made so many misstatements that it was incredible. the first one, and most important is one that he spent has already covered, and i was surprised that he wasn't immediately corrected. they nancy pelosi does not have the authority to call out the national guard. in the district of columbia. it is right on their website, as i said, c-span covered it, and went through, it just several days ago. the authority to call in the national guard, and the district of columbia, lies in the hands of the president of the united states. the only national guard that reports directly to the
2:01 pm
president. the president has delegated that authority to the department of defense. so, the only thing that could call the national guard on january six was the department of defense. >> kevin, in that thursday hearing, that first january six hearing, we saw a video played of an interview with the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, mark milley, in which he indicated that it was the vice president, mike pence, who is much more interested in getting federal troops down here to capitol hill on january 6th then president trump. the folks who were at the white house that day. did you see that? >> yes, i did, that is correct. general milley testified at his deposition that mike pence called him three times. he never heard from the president. getting back to the point, dismiss information about trump ordering 10,000 cards, pelosi
2:02 pm
rejecting it, it's out there, and talked about all the time. when somebody makes a misstatement like this that has been covered by c-span, it is incumbent that it is corrected. trump, at a meeting of the vaccine commission, throughout, this is an hour meeting about the vaccine, -- national guard, he threw out, maybe i should call in 10,000 people. he threw it out. it was no order. he never called in 10,000 people. as milley indicated. the department -- >> all right, that's kevin in massachusetts. this is russell in d.c.. you're next. >> hello? >> go ahead, russell. >> yeah, i just want to get everybody to respond to this, maybe not the host, but all the listeners. just imagine if trump had called in any number of troops
2:03 pm
on january 6th. supposedly to provide extra security to the capital. now, biden was already the president elect. on january 6th, the congress was gonna certify the election, officially as trump hadn't lost. everyone already was accusing trump of saying that he is trying to overturn the election, trying to overthrow the government. so, what would it have looks like if trump had called in troops to the capitol grounds on january 6th? all of those people who already accused trump would have said, yeah, look at this. trump is truly trying to overthrow the government. trump brought in troops on a day when the congress is gonna certify that he lost the election. biden was already the president elect on january 6th. so, you know, i think it was
2:04 pm
smart for trump to get pelosi involved, give her the option of saying yay or nay to bring in troops. get other people involved so that trump wouldn't be accused of making a unilateral decision. >> that's russell here in d.c.. this is barbara out of durham, north carolina, republican. good morning. >> thank you very much for taking my call. as a conservative, i think that i can think for myself and not believe everything somebody tells me. also, i have the ability to discern truth from lie. i did not vote for trump because i researched him prior to the election. after all, he switched from democrat to republican after obama was elected. i objected to the -- policies, i was shocked, from his so-called university and
2:05 pm
his moral character it's abysmal. based on my own integrity, i couldn't vote for him. as a conservative, we have to be able to discern truth from lies. we have to look at what is best for all, not just for the party. and, i think that a lot of these listeners need to think about themselves, and think about what is truth and what their own character and integrity stands for. thank you for taking my call. i appreciate it. >> in just a few minutes when we joined by the reverend william barber of the poor peoples campaign. a few minutes left in our open forum. i did want to know that issue that we have been talking a lot about in recent weeks, the gun legislation, the deal that came together on sunday. and, it is now expected to be put on the senate floor once the legislative text is finalized, the headline from the new york times, it's less than democrats wanted but more than expected.
2:06 pm
it was yesterday on the senate floor that senate majority leader chuck schumer talked about that legislation and the path ahead. >> my colleagues, to continue to working with the same good faith and urgency that has brought us to this point. certainly, yesterday's agreement does not have everything democrats wanted, nevertheless, it represents the most significant reform to gun safety laws that we have seen in decades. if enacted, this legislation will make it harder for mass shooters to access assault rifles. by enhancing background checks for those under 21. it will prevent tragedies before they happen. by helping states with the red flag laws. you will prevent gun violence at home by closing the so-called boyfriend loophole. and establish new penalties for gun traffickers. it will make our neighborhood safer by investing in mental health and community violence
2:07 pm
intervention programs. the share of gun violence happens outside the national -- and these intervention programs are some of the most effective ways to reduce crime and make our communities safer. all together, this framework is a good and necessary first step towards changing the reality of gun violence in america. it will lay the foundation for future actions. >> majority leader chuck schumer austrian the senate floor. we have a few minutes left in our open form this morning. talking about any topic that you want to talk about. letting you lead the discussion here, as we often do in the washington journal. this is linda out of keystone state, democrat. good morning, what is on your mind? >> yes, january six insurrection. the committee is after the truth. trump lost. cale thomas, who is he to answer these questions? that's more free plug blissfully, he is a trumpster. trump belongs and prism.
2:08 pm
trump is trying to overthrow our democracy, january the 6th. thank you, i am a democrat. >> mike in north carolina, republican. good morning. >> morning. , good morning. yes, this january six committee stuff is all basically to take away from attention from the last 14 or 15 months of the biden administration. i mean, look, the oil prices, look at the food prices, look at the massive invasion that is fixing to hit the southern border. we didn't have the stuff before. look, i mean, he called saudi arabia's plans a pariah. now he's going over there and he's gonna beg for oil. the main reason, one of the main reasons saudi arabia doesn't want to do that is because they're still trying to go in to this arms of the iran
2:09 pm
nuclear deal. another thing, the main attention, look at the crime in this country. i mean, last year, there were more registered black, american blacks that registered to get guns to protect themselves. a lot of them on the left said the blacks are getting guns to protect themselves from white supremacists. no, they know that they're protecting themselves from -- >> all right, that's mike in north carolina. some news as we wrap up our open phones in this segment. this, we've been talking about the select committee hearing schedule. and, had been telling you that the next hearing will be tomorrow, wednesday, that has changed. the select committee announcing this morning the press release,
2:10 pm
the wednesday hearing has now been postponed and the next hearing of the select committee will take place on thursday, thursday is the day that we expected the fourth hearing would take place. so more information expected to follow perhaps explaining why that postponement is happening. the next hearing will now take place on thursday. independent, good morning. >> good morning, good morning and thank you for taking my call. thank you for showing the american public what really happened on january 6th by showing the hearing. i just have a simple message, the fact that you are fooled or con doesn't make you an idiot, makes you an idiot is blatantly refusing to look at the truth and make the conscious decision to believe the lies. america needs to open their eyes, this is happening in front of us. people denying what happened is ludicrous. thank you very much for honesty
2:11 pm
and stating the facts. when you have wackadoodles calling in, lying, and you don't push back on them, that is also a disservice for the american people, thank you. >> this is america, here in washington, d.c.. >> good morning, how are you sir. >> i just want to add on to the lady that just spoke. january 6th was bad, as a service member, and someone who served in the military, i wasn't born in america. there was something that i never expected to happen in this country, unfortunately it did. it's an embarrassment, i'm glad you guys are -- trying to help people, the other thing i would add to that is, the lady -- we should not allow or encourage people to come on your show and try to make less
2:12 pm
of the impact of january 6th. the truth is there. you guys are showing a lot of them. media stations are showing them. they should continue to show them. make decisions for themselves. thank you. >> do you think it's worthwhile to hear scholars who have a different opinion on this? >> absolutely. that's what's this nation stands for, you're entitled to your opinion, but i don't think it's fair to come on your show, which is like, it gives access to many people, like myself, to be gaslighted or someone trying to misrepresent truths for their own selfish interests. i don't think it's fair. that's was not fair about it. >> this is amelia, west bridge, water mass, independent. good morning. >> good morning. i just wanted to say about
2:13 pm
donald trump and his followers, you know, he is a fascist autocrat that is and was willing to burn down the republic just for his own political and monetary gain. this was all about keeping power and getting money from his own people, which is very sad. people in america, they have the right to support trump, whether he is an autocrat, that's the beauty of america. they can't change the fact, i do wish that they would watch the january 6th hearing. because it's his own people. where does trump get's information? his own people. who does the investigating? his people. they came up after the fact, after they were subpoenaed, and they said it was all a lie. it was a big lie. they had today but the big lie because the man tells so many lies. >> amelia, do you think there's a lot of americans who haven't made up their mind about what
2:14 pm
happened or what didn't happen on january 6th? do you think there's a lot of people still out there to be convinced one way or the other? >> i believe that they could be convinced, if they see that his own people, over and over and over again, you have bill barr saying, he did this and that. i'm still gonna vote for him. that's not sending the right message. i do believe it all should've come out when it was time, back before the sixth. they should, said yeah, he did this, it was wrong, joint statements, and then, you know, even mitch mcconnell saying, he was responsible for january 6th, but i'm still gonna vote for him. >> you think this committee is doing that job of laying out the evidence? >> absolutely. >> so how do you get people to watch that? how do you force people to watch that then, amelia? >> the beauty of america's you can't force anybody to do anything. they have a right to their opinion. they can't change the facts. the only thing that, maybe it's
2:15 pm
fox news, i don't know, area, i guess that's great at 10 am. i wish they had done it during prime time. you can't force anyone to do anything in this country, that is the beauty of america. i can still appreciate that you're in american, you have your own mini -- own opinion, i'm not gonna suspect if you can't look at it from a different side. that, just infuriating. i don't have to force these people do anything, but i really do wish, i plead with them and to please just watch and then game, you know, an opinion. i mean, watch the brutality of these police officers getting smashed in the face and losing ice and toes. i mean, it was just horrifying. >> that's 1 million in massachusetts. this is michael, pasadena, texas, republican. good morning. >> good morning, how are you? >> i'm doing well. >> good, good. listen, buddy. they're putting up a really big fuss over the g.
2:16 pm
and that's understandable. let's not understandable is that they put up a fight over the george floyd riots that -- killed, actually killed police officers, tore up cars, millions of dollars worth of damage, and you know, it's like a bunch of them -- . no, no, no, no. that was just a peaceful protest. the j 6th committee is a dog and pony show. >> are you watching any of it, michael? >> oh yeah, i watched the first part of it, and i thought, what the is this? you know, when you have a party up there accusing and no one defending, that's not right. you know in a court of law you have a prosecutor and you have a defense lawyer. i see no defense lawyer anywhere. all i see is this big
2:17 pm
production of trying to keep trump off the ballot for 24. >> so michael, one of the previous scholars has said these are all trump campaign officials, these are all republican state election officials and the call is saying this is the other side that you are hearing from republicans who are on the inside or who were intimately involved in the election process that this is both sides. what would you say to that caller? >> i'd say i'm not doing the editing. you know, they don't show him that, show a picture and another rendering of what could or could not have been set. i didn't hear it coming out of their mother. i heard it coming out of production's wealth. you know, this, nobody cares in reality about what happened two
2:18 pm
years ago. they're concerned about today. they're concerned about the president that we have today that is tearing this whole country apart. now, if you -- >> it was former president it, with former president trump made some of those same points in a 12 page rebuttal to the january 6th committee investigations, releasing it yesterday through his safe america pack, reading in part, 17 months after the events of january 6th, democrats are unable to offer solutions. they're desperate to change the narrative of a failing nation without even making mention of the havoc and death caused by the radical left just months earlier. make no mistake, he said in his statement, they control the government, and they own this disaster, and they are hoping that these hearings will somehow alter their feeling prospects. the former president, part of his statement, and a very long one, that he released yesterday. this isn't mary out of harrisburg, pennsylvania. democrat, good morning. >> hello.
2:19 pm
>> go ahead, mary can you. >> hear me? >> yes, ma'am. >> i'd just like to clarify a point that even kill almost got wrong. the national guards operate under the respective state or territorial governor, except in the instance of washington, d.c., when they operate under the president of the united states. and if you remember, on that day, there was all the importing of calling up the garden funny virginia called up their garden some of the other states but its president that controls the d.c. national guard. that nancy pelosi can control so capitol police for the house only. mitch mcconnell controls the capitol police for the senate. and muriel bowser called out the metropolitan d.c. police. >> that's mary out of harrison
2:20 pm
berke, pennsylvania. and this is james emission, texas. good morning. >> yes, good morning. i just -- two quick points from this previous color. what people forget, and this is real important, is that the intelligence had already determined there was possible danger about three days before. so let's forget about national guard and all of that. if it was, you know, offered and then turned down. here's the big question. with that intelligence nothing changed. so what exactly then did nancy pelosi do to secure the house? you can see she, you refuse the national guard. but that -- the danger. so that's a big problem. and here's the other problem that i think a lot of us in america are having is that it seems like over the last three years we had nothing but chaos here on the border. i live right on the border. and we have a flood of illegal just coming in daily. and yet, when washington, d.c.,
2:21 pm
all of a sudden, their house gets overrun, they get all upset and are concerned. but what have they've been doing to protect us down here with being overrun? and i think that's the problem is the hypocrisy that we are having to deal with. and i just wish washington would be fair to everybody in the country. i appreciate. >> that's james in texas. this is joan in cleveland, ohio. republican. good morning. >> good morning, i just want everybody just want everybody to know if you are donald trump person that voted for him, that left him the way he did the job when he was president, i found the clock, that you could set it for every hour to go off with his picture and see, make america great again. i just think it is fantastic some guy drove 60 miles to get this clock. yet the thing i wanted to say is years ago, there was a show
2:22 pm
old tv, dragnet, and if anyone is as old as i am, they'll remember when they, i think his name was joe friday, said, just the facts, ma'am. that's all we want, is just the facts. so with this parade of these people sitting at a desk and looking at a teleprompter, just give us the facts! you're taking us through everything that really, to me, it's like you want to put me to sleep a. tried to listen to it. but is so boring. it's just pouring, boring, pouring. and said they didn't let the republicans put their guys on, or ladies, i think it's a shame. the other thing i want to just comment on is nancy pelosi's husband. i understand nobody --
2:23 pm
the film to show his accident and to get the information out. they're having a terrible time. the attorney general is not cooperating with everybody. but everyone knows anyone, anyone and everyone, they are local, your national, they hurry up and put it on tv so everybody can see! so i -- >> that's jolted ohio. this is thierry cousin, indiana. democrat. good morning. >> good morning, this is jim haldimand, say, i enjoy watching that washington journal as often as possible. i appreciate your professionalism. and i have just one question that i watch kyle thomas earlier and he mentioned the fact that the trump was able to control the gas prices and they were far less than what they are now. what would be his, what's your
2:24 pm
impression is, other than the fact that the pandemic and the lack of demand brought those prices down? did trump actually have a policy that kept the prices up? that's all. >> and jim, what do you think? is a question that comes up on this program a lot. how, how much does any particular president, which control do they have on gas prices? >> absolutely not. i totally agree. again, they could put in policies that to, control production or whatever the case may be with this bs about the keystone xl pipeline. it was never into production. so, there's smoking something out there. >> what do you think is the cause of such high gas prices right now? >> oh, totally, the exorbitant price of oil right now, the refining.
