world leaders say iran is breaking global rules on its nuclear program. 90 minutes ago, french, british and u.s. leaders lambasted iran for its new covert facilities. that debate coming up. kids across the country may be drinking water full of arsenic and lead. there's a new report that may have you packing bottled water as you send your children off to school this morning. then watch what you sweat. there's a new anklet device.

those story this is hour on "morning express." we have a lot to cover. two alleged terror plots targeting two u.s. cities. that's new today. federal agents saying the suspects in both. >> reporter: ready to pull the trigger. the arrests were in illinois and texas. separate cases, again. counterterrorism authorities say the plots were unrelated. more details on the plots throughout this hour. but first, we've got some new video from a third alleged plot. we talk about what's happening in denver, colorado. a story we've been following for some days right now. this is exclusive video of najibullah zazi. federal prosecutors say it shows him buying large amounts of a chemical that can be used to make bombs. watch this white circle. employees at a denver beauty supply store say he made several purchases recently. experts say he could have done major damage with the chemicals he bought. >> hydrogen peroxide bombs are a signature of somebody who's trained in an al qaeda training camp on the afghan/pakistan border. the government alleged that zazi's admitted to attending
10:02 am
such a training camp. the reason this is important is not that this guy is just buying household products. he can -- if he's got the right training, he can turn these into very effective bombs. >> you're seeing that video. zazi has been charged with conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction. that's the colorado plot. back to those apparently unrelated terror plots in two u.s. cities. first of all, in illinois, michael finton, also known as talib islam, is charged with trying to detonate a truck bomb outside a building in illinois. he tried to blow it up with remote control. he was arrested as he pushed the button. in dallas, texas, a third plot that we're exposing today. the fbi says a 19-year-old jordanian man was arrested as he tried to set off a bomb at a tower there. the products are considered home-grown. >> there's a couple of things that have drawn these plots out all at once.
10:03 am
it is in the vicinity of the anniversary of september 11th. it's also at the same time ramadan was just over. so there are a variety of reasons that has heightened the fervor, if you will, of the people that would like to do these things. and i think the reassuring thing is the fact that the terrorist task forces across the country are on top of these cases. >> the fbi agents say they prevented these two new attack, these plots from both texas and illinois by going undercover. we'll have more on all three of those plots later throughout this hour. stick around for that. right now, world leaders are getting down to business at the g-20 summit in pittsburgh. before it started, president obama called for global action after iran admitted it has a second nuclear fuel facility, covert. he's demanding iran open it up to international inspectors because its size suggests it could not be a power plant only as iran claims. >> iran is breaking rules that all nations must follow, endangering the global
10:04 am
nonproliferation regime, denying its own people access to the opportunity they deserve and threatening the stability and security of the region in the world. >> diplomatic sources say iran only admitted the existence of the nuclear facility because western leaders already found out about it. iran has said its nuclear program is about energy, not weapons. then in the backdrop of all of that, this was the scene outside the g-20 summit yesterday in pittsburgh. police fired pepper spray and rubber bullets at some of the protestors. they say some protestors threw rocks and broke some windows, too. they arrested about 20 people in that. before you send your kids off to school, you want to hear this one. drinking water at many schools across the country is tainted with toxic levels of lead and pesticides. there's a new "associated press" investigation that found kids in all 50 states have been exposed to this water for the last ten years. in all 50 states. many schools are not fixing old

pipes because providing bottled water is just plain cheaper. the epa says the number of safety violations has spiked in the last decade because of stricter standards. also related to your children this hour, if you have children's and infant's tylenol at home, we have important information for you. some of the medicine is being recalled because of possible bacterial contamination. jennifer westhoven is looking out for you on this. is this a danger to kids? >> the message from tylenol is that it isn't a danger, but that they want to be very cautious. but they are recalling it so obviously they think there is some kind of a small risk there. johnson & johnson say the ris sk remote but they want to be absolutely sure. they're recalling nearly two dozen tylenol products after they found bacteria that was in an inactive ingredient that they say was unused in the product but because it was made at the same time, they just want to be sure. here's what you can do to make sure that everything in your medicine cabinet is totally safe in case you think you may have

one of the products. go to cnn.com/robin, we have a list of the lot numbers, it's under important websites. get the medicine bottle and compare the lot numbers. look either on the bottom of the box or on the sticker that goes around the bottle. and sometimes you have to pull off the top label and it's on one underneath. >> good tip. we'll be back with more in about ten minutes. now off to bob van dillen. it is a friday, bob. you just want to kick up your feet right now. it's been a busy two weeks for you. >> yeah, it has been. i don't care for the weather pattern. same situation, low pressure area. it's a stagnant low. not being pushed out by anything. you can see with the rain wrapping up through northern iowa in towards lower minnesota, that's the low. look at the cold front ahead of this. the louisiana area back towards western tennessee, the rain is going to continue around this area and then be pushed over towards the deep south.
10:07 am

. welcome back. the woman who police say was kidnapped when she was 11 and kept for 18 years says she will testify against her alleged kidnappers if there's a trial. jaycee dugard's attorney spoke yesterday about her time in captivity. take a listen. >> she's had children in that environment. so it's really -- it's what she has known, really in essence,
10:12 am
for her life. so that's one competing emotion. on the other side, there's no question that she knows that terrible and wrong things were done to her. >> police say jaycee dugard was held in the backyard of phillip garrido where he fathered two daughters with her. garrido and his wife have pleaded not guilty to these crimes so far. texas police have arrested actor randy quaid and his wife for allegedly skipping out on a $10,000 hotel bill. the hotel has filed a complaint claiming the quaids did not pay that lofty bill. the couple faces felony charges of burglary, conspiracy and defrauding an innkeeper. texas authorities say that evi quaid even struggled with police during her arrest. bail was set at $20,000 for each of them. another big bank says it's cutting those very annoying and some say excessive overdraft fees. jen westhoven is here.
10:13 am
they can hit you when you're not looking. >> it's a topic close to my heart. it only takes one time for you to make a mistake in your head, make a couple of debit card transactions and the next thing you know, it's hundreds of dollars and your head's about to explode. and they won't necessarily take them back. this week, some of the nation's biggest banks said they were going to cut overdraft fees and now u.s. bank is following that hopping on the bank wagon. we'll see if other banks follow, too. i think the question would be, even small changes will help you. but will it be enough? the banks are hoping to stop congress from making new rules, basically because so many people have been socked by this, the fury level has gotten so high, that congress has said, maybe this isn't fair. so banks, i think, would rather give an inch and keep most of the overdraft fees than have to give up o lot more. overdraft fees are a gold mine for them, billions of dollars in
10:14 am
a revenue stream for them. u.s. bank, first you'd only be hit up to three times a day. that's only $115 on average? that's a lot of money. but they would also have some kind of you could only be hit so many times a year. they also won't hit you if you go under your balance by only 10 bucks. they won't hit you for a little mistake. but congress getting ready to look at new regulations on credit and debit fees. >> but it can even hit you $200 to $300 a day. >> some banks would have hit you up to ten times in the past. that's 350 bucks because you thought a check cleared or something like that. so people are writing in to us about this -- >> i think that was really nice of you, james, to say, it's like they do it on purpose. >> is that your alias, james? >> there is a thing, too, about how when it comes to accepting
10:15 am
deposits, they can really take a long time in some ways. back to you. >> great story. thanks for following up and keeping us up to date on certainly how to save some money now. the fbi says it caught two alleged terrorists just in time. and one of them grew up right here in the united states. we are digging deeper into why he, a u.s. citizen, might have planned on attack on his own country.

11:01 am
should mackenzie have kept quiet? tonight, the great cougar debate. courteney cox's new show "cougar town" debuted last night and has got men and women arguing everywhere today. why do older women get slammed for dating younger men, but younger men are considered cool for dating older women? what's up with that? plus, john travolta's agony. forced to relive in public every moment of the terrible day he watched his beloved son die before his very eyes. travolta's emotional, heartbreaking words. tv's most provocative entertainment news show starts right now. hello. i'm a.j. hammer broadcasting tonight and every night from new york city. and tonight, the mackenzie phillips incest outrage. mackenzie phillips back on live tv, just this morning, just one
11:02 am
day after her shocking claims an "oprah" that she had a sexual relationship with her famous father for some ten years. but tonight, some members of her own family are saying flat-out they don't believe her. they don't believe it ever happened. and even oprah was being slammed today for having mackenzie on her show in the first place. well, "showbiz tonight" has been on top of every new breaking development today in this very disturbing story, which all made for big news breaking. >> i need to be free. and if in doing so i have offended anybody, i am truly sorry. >> reporter: mackenzie phillips went on the "today" show this morning to address the uproar that followed her shocking claim she shared on "oprah" the day before. that she and her pop star father, john philips of the mammas and the papas, had a sexual relationship for some ten years. >> your father is supposed to protect you, not [ muted ] you. >> reporter: "showbiz tonight" can tell you mackenzie phillips' graphic details of incestuous sex and heavy drug use provoked an explosive reaction today,
11:03 am
including from her famous stepmother, singer michelle phillips, and her famous sister, singer chynna phillips. >> it sounds like right now there's definitely some strife within the family. >> reporter: mackenzie's father john phillips was a founding member of the mammas and the papas, the 1960s group responsible for classics such as "california dreaming." john phillips died in 2001. mackenzie's claims on "opera" are from her new book that just came out, a memoir called "high on arrival." mackenzie claims her father first had sex with her after a drug-induced blackout back when she was a teen starting on the 1970s sitcom "one day at a time." >> i woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father. >> reporter: mackenzie says that led to a consensual sexual relationship. but this morning on the "today" show, she disputed headlines online and in newspapers today
11:04 am
calling it a ten-year affair. >> people say for ten years i had this relationship. at 18 i was molested. then maybe three years later, i started waking up with my pants down around my ankles. and then maybe two years after that, it became consensual. so to call it a ten-year affair or a ten-year relationship is not correct. >> reporter: now "showbiz tonight" can tell you the phillips family is bitterly divided over mackenzie's claims. we learned today that her stepmother, michelle phillips, who was also in the mammas and the papas is saying flat-out that mackenzie is lying. >> we spoke to michelle phillips who said that she does not believe mackenzie. >> reporter: in the new issue of "us" magazine out today, michelle phillips pulls no punches. she brings up mackenzie's long, well-known history of drug abuse. she says, you should take with a grain of salt anything that's said by a person who has had a needle stuck in her arm for the past 35 years. the whole story is disgusting. >> it's got to hurt mackenzie. because not only is she coming out here telling her truth, and
11:05 am
then her stepmother comes out and publicly bashes her and slams her. that's got to really sting. >> reporter: but on the other side, mackenzie's sister, chynna phillips, one-third of the early '90s singing group, wilson phillips. >> chynna, who "us" magazine explosively spoke to, is standing by her sister. >> reporter: "us weekly's" natalie thomas tells "showbiz tonight" that in chynna's shocking interview with the magazine, she revealed that she's known mackenzie's shocking incest secret for more than a decade. chynna tells "us weekly," quote, i knew it was true. i mean, who in their right mind would make such a claim if it wasn't true? >> chynna says she wasn't very comfortable with mackenzie doing the book. she wishes she had come to her first and let her know that it was happening. she does support her. she is behind her. she loves her. >> reporter: this morning on the "today" show, mackenzie phillips said the reaction from her family is all too typical. >> if you open a textbook on incest, you could see a picture of the phillips family.
11:06 am
we are behaving in the typical way. you know, the instinct is to say it's not true. the instinct is to deny. the instinct is to brush it under the table. the instinct is to protect the abuser. >> reporter: but mackenzie still has hope that this revelation won't tear her family apart. >> i know that, god willing, as a family, we will be stronger when this all dies down. >> wow. and there's more. in a brand-new interview on the "today" show this morning, mackenzie revealed yet another bombshell. joining me tonight from hollywood, leslie marshall, host of the leslie marshall radio show, and also in hollywood, pat lalama, an investigative journalist. and just when we thought we had heard everything from mackenzie on "oprah" yesterday, this morning on the "today" show, mackenzie didn't slam her father, she actually partially blamed herself for the consensual sexual relationship with him. you've got to watch what she said here. >> this was a warped event that occurred over time. and what it started out as, which was an act of molestation and what it became were two entirely different things.
11:07 am
one i believe i have no accountability for. the initial event. i believe that i have some accountability for what went down afterwards. >> i'm not sure what to make of that. mackenzie actually taking responsibility for what she says happened. pat, do you think she bears any responsibility, if this did actually happen? >> if she's listening, i want her to go to a therapist's office right now. she's not responsible if what she's alleging is in fact true. her father may not have put a gun to her head, but as i said the other day on your show, there is no consensual incest. she was under the spell of a man mired in drug and alcohol abuse, swimming in a domestic cesspool. she is not responsible for what happened. i completely disagree with her, if what she's saying is true. >> it seems that way, pat. and i can tell you, this is pretty amazing to me, there is growing evidence that the interest in mackenzie's story is really exploding here. take a look at this. put that up, charles. this afternoon, her new book

11:09 am
all, leslie, it's hard for me to believe that that is the sole reason a book would climb so high to number three. pat, tell me what you think here. because she also makes claims of her father shooting her up with drugs, her father teaching her how to roll joints and all the drugs they did together and plus the incest claims. do you think there's a bit of the train wreck factor too that has to be driving this thing? >> of course. and of course mackenzie knew that when she wrote the book. this is a domestic land mine, it's shocking, and we can't look away. there is -- i hate to use the terminology, but there's a certain sleaze factor to it. but a.j., aye got to tell you, if it can be cathartic for her and for millions of other people, i'm all for it. and too bad if her family doesn't like it. because you know what, i think we can learn more from her than jon gosselin's tramp of the month and the fact that he's now left eight young children in the dust. we all seem to be okay with that, but we're all right with incest. >> i don't often give a big amen, but i'll give you one for
11:10 am
that. and not just people that may be buying mackenzie's book that are connecting with what she went through. in her interview on the "today" show this morning, mackenzie also revealed she's been getting overwhelming support elsewhere since she told her story on "oprah." you've got to see this. >> since the publication of this book yesterday, the outpouring of support from other incest survivors has been phenomenal. this is a subject that is so incredibly taboo, and as well it should be. but there needs to be a dialogue about it. the covers need to be pulled. you can't keep sweeping this under the carpet. this is affecting families all over the world. >> and that would be a good side effect of this, but that said, leslie, quickly, do you think that more people will be disturbed by mackenzie making these claims than those who will be helped by them? >> i know from the tweets and the facebook e-mail messages and my talk show, a lot of people are very uncomfortable with her putting it out on "oprah" and not a psychiatrist couch. a lot of people were saying tmi, but now when they see how many people that are coming out and
