right now on "showbiz tonight," brand new mackenzie phillips incest shockers. why she went back on oprah after claiming she had a sexual relationship with her father. why mackenzie's half sister went on oprah with her ask what she revealed. and the bomb shell oprah dropped about whether the incest claims could be true. >> and the unbelievable,
11:01 pm
chilling michael jackson tapes. >> he would make you strip down and oil you down. >> you will not believe what you are about to hear. where do the tapes come from? where does he slam madonna and his bizarre relationship with mannequins. and martha stewarts apology to jessica simpson for giving her a hard time after her dog was snatched by a coyote. "showbiz tonight" starts right now. hello, i am a.j. hammer and tonight new incest bomb shells. >> i woke up that night from a black out to find myself having sex with my own father. >> just days after she went on
11:02 pm
the oprah winfrey show, mackenzie phillips went back on the show today. for the very first time mackenzie responds to the disturbing backlash. then there is the family feud that has erupted since the incest claims. oprah reveals today how mackenzie's family is torn apart. and right there with her is her half sister chynna. and leave it to oprah to drop her own bomb shell. >> tonight in new york is cooper lawrence and psychologist and author of the cult of celebrity. no doubt these claims have set
11:03 pm
off a vicious frud that really split her family right down the middle. her stepmother is furious. her younger half sister is scared and confused and her older half sister supports her. she went back on oprah and says it was all still absolutely worth it. >> i understand and i totally agree that this -- it has turned out to be much more explosive than i could have ever imagined and i am really sorry, chy, to put you in this position. i am very, very sorry about that but i don't regret writing the book because i believe lit be a great help. >> on the one hand she said she is helping other victims of ince incest. on the other hand she has completely torn her family in half. do you think she handled her confessions in the right way? >> this is not the brady bunch. they have admitted that they are
11:04 pm
krug u drug users. guess who put the needle in her arm? according to mackenzie, it was her dad. we need to kind of -- she is making money off of a book. but you know what? she is doing such a great thing for such a taboo for so many girls who are afraid to come forward maybe now they have the guts to do so. >> this attention really is unprecedented. there is so much more to tell you about what happened. mackenzie's stepmother, michelle phillips. she was the second wife and a member of the mamms and pappas as well. here is what she said -- and
11:05 pm
that's not all. mackenzie was unphased by michelle's big backlash. watch what she said today. >> when michelle found out i was writing the book she vowed to do everything she could to discredit me. and oprah, this is -- either she is protecting the mommas and pappas brand or she is having a text book reaction and she is embarrassed. i don't have a history of mental illness, i have a history of addiction. >> is michelle phillips out of line for railing so hard against her stepdaughter or does she have every right to be so angry? >> she is totally out of line because she didn't live the life but mackenzie made a good point. the correlation between being on the couch and incest, i don't
11:06 pm
understand michelle phillips comment there. she is protecting the abuser. mackenzie was right in that way. it is not mackenzie's jop to protect the family. nobody protected her so i think it is fine to say all of this. i think michelle phillips is doing more harm. >> mackenzie is not alone. on the other side you have chynna who went on oprah to defend mackenzie. >> so you believe her? >> well -- okay. yes. the details around the book, you know, how can a person who has been doing drugs and admit she was on drugs during the time of all of this stuff, how can the details be perfectly accurate but i do know there was a consensual relationship that lasted. >> it was not all roses for
11:07 pm
chynna. she does not feel she went about it the right way. >> that was the only thing that hurt my feelings. if i had been privy to the information a tad bit sooner at least maybe i could have prepared myself emotionally for the fire storm. >> so what do you think about that? a lot of people have been bringing this up. does chynna have a point? should she revealed the information that is so explosive differently than she did to protect her family or does she have no responsibility there? >> in a perfect world, you are right, chynna has a point, she should have gone everyone and said this is what i am going to do. oprah is not scripted. she is a great interviewer and maybe she brought things out of mackenzie that she didn't want to talk about. but this has been on her mind for so many years. maybe she was afraid if she was
11:08 pm
going to reveal it maybe they would talk her out of it or maybe she wanted to get on the show and see where things happened. maybe it wasn't her entire plan to reveal so much information. >> here is another interesting component to the whole thing. we learn that her younger sister is saying that mackenzie told her ability having a consensual information with her dad then bijou claims mackenzie said it never happened. here is what bijou said -- so how did mackenzie react to what
11:09 pm
bijou pourfully said. >> by the time that bijou was living with him had changed his ways as much as he was able to. maybe i did her a disservice but i felt she was safe. you know, why did i leave her there? i felt she was safe but when i felt she was in danger, i took her out. >> cooper, let me get your take here because you are squarely on mackenzie's side. i wonder if you think bijou's claim could actually compromise mackenzie's credibility in getting this word out. >> if we are talking about credibility, let me be clear. when it comes to incest it is not uncommon for the abuser to single out one child. you can have five kids and only one kid gets abused. that's not the answer. the answer is it did happen to one sister it does not have to happen to all of them.
11:10 pm
at the time mackenzie wasn't clear in her own mind. it explains her drug use for so long to compound the pain that she was going through and the fact that her father was the first to introduce her to drugs. if he was going be abusing her, being on drugs was the only way to deal with what was happening to her. >> it is all so incredible and there is more reaction coming in from around the country today. and today oprah surprised mackenzie when she dropped a real bomb shell. look at this. >> i need to say this. two days ago we received an e-mail from a woman named jessica woods. jessica's father was the other male singer in the mommas and pappas. >> we will reveal what oprah had to say about that in just a moment but first tonight absolutely chilling never before heard taped conversations with michael jackson. he describes in graphic detail
11:11 pm
how his father allegedly beat him. >> this is just mind blowing. in these tapes just heard on date line tonight, michael slams madonna and talks about his relationship with mannequins. you have got to hear this for yourself. and it's martha's dog gone apology. she apologizes to jes sica simpson. and we are going do this every friday. when "showbiz tonight" names the most provocative celebrity of the week. this is "showbiz tonight" on hln. time now for the "showbiz" news ticker.

welcome back. i oom a.j. hammer. martha stewart was eating major crow today after slamming jessica simpson after jessica lost her beloved dog. martha stewart accused jessica of being careless and blamed her for what happened. cruel, martha, cruel. and paula abdul is telling everyone to back off of ellen. paula defends ellen even after spoofing her on "american idol." stephen smith, he is a pop culture and musical expert. let's begin with jessica simpson. i have been bummed out about how people have been so mean to her for hoping that daisy would be found. martha stewart ragged on her. martha realizes that was not a
11:16 pm
good thing. here is what she said on her show. seec stephen? are you with me? this is what i would have expected martha to say in the first place. >> you think an excon would be a little more sensitive to people losing their pet. she should have said that. she should have said that's really awful. she shouldn't have said go out and buy yourself another pet. that was the most insensitive dog. should have watched it more closely? yeah thanks, whatever. but buy a new one? >> and there are reports that jessica had a really hard time getting over daisy. martha seemed very sincere to me with the apology. should jessica just accept it? >> martha should stick with making pies and obstruction of
11:17 pm
justice. there you have it. >> don't forget about what she wore over her head? the thing? the frock. the poncho. >> no, no. i don't think that is an apology. but i am sorry she lost her dog. >> she got called out on it and she had to say something about it. making news today, paula abdul defending ellen degeneres. paula seemed to take a little shot at ellen with the spoof on vh 1 divas. but paula says enough is enough and she has got ellen's back. >> she needs to do what she does best which is not be bothered by what anyone says and be her charming self and she will be great. >> you know, i have to tell you, i want to turn on "american idol" this season and see paula and ellen hug it out like a

11:19 pm
her father had sex. here is a call from brigette calling in from washington who says mackenzie has every right to speak up. >> mackenzie was correct in doing what she did. people would talk about her father in loving terms and she would have to sit there and take that in and perpetuate that lie. that would have destroyed her life. >> cynthia thinks that mackenzie must be telling the truth. >> i don't think mackenzie would have went on television and said the things she said when she is the one that has to take the repercussion from it. i can't understand why she would go on there and say those things if they weren't true. she needs to free herself. >> thank you.

new mackenzie phillips incest claims. tonight "showbiz tonight" with the bomb shell from oprah about weather mackenzie's incest al gags could be true. and "showbiz tonight" names the most provocative celebrity of the week. tv's most provocative entertainment news show continues right now. welcome back. it is 30 minutes past the hour. i am broadcasting tonight and every night from new york city. the explosive brand new secret tapes from michael jackson telling all about his father allegedly beating hem. here are the breaking developments. just a short time ago we heard
11:32 pm
dramatic new audio tapes of michael jackson talking in graphic detail about being beaten. i can tell you it is mind blowing what he claims he went through. on the tapes heard nationwide, michael describes how lonely his life became and why he had a bizarre relationship with mannequins. yes, i said mannequins. and brand new remarkable revelations about how the king of pop wanted to be buried not by himself but with children. joining me tonight jean and carlos. i got say these tapes we are about to play for you are just incredible. they are some of the over three hours of interviews recorded between 1991 and 2001 with his one time spiritual advisor. he talks about what he called his father's beating ritual.
11:33 pm
the tapes were first aired on the "today show." you got to listen. >> just eerie to listen to. we did reach out to joe jackson today. a family spokesman said he wouldn't dignify this with a comment. we have heard these allegations before from michael but to hear michael saying it in his own
11:34 pm
voice and words, it is just stunning. >> he wouldn't dignify the claims with a comment. these claims are coming from your son, joe jackson. that's what gets me. that's what you say when a tabloid says something about it. these claims are coming from your son in great detail. we have heard them before but never from jackson's own mouth. when are we going wake up and realize that joe jackson might not be the best guy in the world. >> no kidding. and michael gave permission to tape these 30 hours of conversation. a lot of people wondered how these got out there but michael wanted to share these tapes with the world one day. his rabbi has written a book based on the tapes. >> i think it is shocking. we have heard michael say before that he was physically abused.
11:35 pm
remember when oprah interviewed him and very meekly to oprah's question, did he hit you? yes. it does show out and out abuse. it shows his mother knew about it. it shows his mother stood by when it was all happening. those are the facts according to the tape. >> and when you listen to the detail that was given, you have to wonder can somebody make stuff like that up. we know that michael lived an isolated life. in the special that dateline aired tonight, michael explains that he filled his life with mannequins when he felt the need to be around people. this is astonishing.
11:36 pm
>> as lonely as michael was, despite the fact that he had all these people around him. >> just when you think you have heard it all you hear stuff like that. i think back to the bad tour when michael was jogging with those troops and he had thousands of fans they were screaming for him and he had hundreds of troops around him. and he is a guy who cannot be in a room with real people. and i remembered the mannequins and i started to wonder if that was a real story or a fake story and michael talking about it
11:37 pm
again in such great detail. when michael was alive, a lot of people thought he was eccentric and bizarre. what goes through your mind when you hear this? >> i think being shy, i don't think that is unusual for a performer. i think most are actually shy people. when i look at the mannequins we now see the state of mind with jackson. it is now explained and on oprah this week, oprah happened to mention that she had dolls around her house today because she didn't have them when she was younger. what's the difference? >> you make an exlenlt point. the tapes were recorded between 1991 and 2001. that is back when he was accused of child molestation. keeping that in mind, another bomb shell from the secret tapes, expressing his love for children saying when he died he wanted to be buried around them. listen.
11:38 pm
>> just unbelievable. he said if it weren't for children he would choose death. carlos, do you think what michael said on these tapes per happens will serve to help people understand michael's love for children or are people going find it disturbing. >> if you have a preconceived notion, these tapes will solidify your notion. if you believe he was a saint and a beautiful person, then these tapes will help you believe that. if you believe he was a pedophile you will say he thought about kids all the time. >> excellent. more shocking things were said
11:39 pm
by michael. you do remember the touching speech that madonna gave at the mtv video music awards. >> we sat on the couch like two kids and somewhere in the middle of the film his hand snuck over and held mine. it felt like he was looking for a friend more than a romance and i was happy to oblige him. >> she called him a king. so you will be shocked when you hear what michael was caught on tape calling madonna. also brand new bomb shells from one day at a time star mackenzie phillips just days after shocking the world on oprah with claims that she had a sexual relationship with her father. >> we received an e-mail from a woman named jessica woods. her father was the other male

he was so unique, so original, so rare, and there will never be anyone like him again. he was a king. >> a tribute fit for a king.
11:44 pm
that was just a couple of weeks ago. she was paying tribute to michael jackson. why on earth did michael jackson slam madonna? welcome back. more of the explosive jackson tapes recorded between 1999 and 2001, first played on the today show this morning. and jackson reveals how he really felt about his good friend madonna. kim baker is joining me tonight and cooper lawrence who is a psychologist and author of "the cult of slcelebrity". michael's long time spiritual advisor just released these tapes. jackson told him he thought madonna was not a nice person and she was actually jealous of him.
11:45 pm
>> "showbiz tonight" did reach out to madonna and madonna has very fond feelings for michael jackson and i don't think anything in the book is going change that. what do you make of michael's slam of madonna? >> we got to put this in context. madonna had been close to michael for some time and in her own admission she says they did fall out. and a couple of weeks ago when she gave that tribute to michael jackson she confessed that she had left him. she suggested that maybe she was less than a good person with how she dealt with michael.
11:46 pm
i don't think this is something that she denies. i do think that michael really did feel those things. as far as any repercussions, madonna said and all of us can agree that he was in a lot of trouble and turmoil in his life. at the time that he spoke, i don't know if he was of totally sound mind. i am not saying madonna is a great person or a bad person but michael was very conflicted. he isolated himself from a lot of people and he perceived a lot of people, and some of them were friends that he just shut out. >> that is going back some ten years. there are brand new bomb shells about mackenzie phillips incest claims. here is the big news breaking today. she went back on oprah two days after making her claims. her half sister chynna went on oprah to support her.
11:47 pm
but oprah revealed a new bomb shell on the show and it has to do with whether or not the incest claims mackenzie is making should be true. oprah said today she received an e-mail from jessica woods whose dad was a member of the mommas and the poppas. >> she said i just watched your show. tears are running down my face. everything she said is true. my dad told me the awful truth. he was who fhorrified about whan had done and knew all of it. >> does this give mackenzie more credibility for all of those who keep going after her? >> absolutely but it shouldn't have to. the fact that she has these claims is enough. she is bringing attention to an important subject. incest is something that goes completely underreported. even if it didn't happen, somebody is at home saying to
11:48 pm
themselves she came forward, i am going to do the same. the bigger question is if the other person knew about this going on, why didn't they step forward then? why didn't they try to protect her when she was a child. >> and some of the things being said is it was a different time and a lot of drugs but there is so much debate about this going on. viewers are divided about whether mackenzie should have gone public. we asked on air and online, was it okay for her to go public with her incest claims? and this is a clear divide. the majority there saying that she was right to come out, of course, with these claims. cooper, i want to go back to this. do you think the other 44% may come around after they here that jessica woods is corroborating the story?
11:49 pm
>> how dare they come forward and say it wasn't appropriate for her. if one person is going hear the story and feel they will stop the circle of sexual abuse in their house, that's all that matters and those 44% have had nice lives and have not had to deal with incest and molestat n molestation. if anything makes one kid come forward it should be 100% of the people should be supportive for that reason alone. >> i hear what you are saying. so many people are saying it may be helpful but at what cost but you are saying it doesn't matter. thank you so much for being here. there is certainly no doubt that mackenzie phillips has had a controversial week but is she the most provocative celebrity of the week? don't go anywhere. we are kicking off something brand new tonight and you are on n on it. we will do this every friday night. i have gotten your e-mails, phone calls and facebook

1:11 am
about an arrest in tennessee on a forgery charge? >> well, i think it's going to really help them put a lot of pressure on her to talk further. but i also think the defense is going to love it. because in the beginning the prosecutors were hopeful that the mother's testimony against her own daughter would be helpful. now she's arrested on forgery, which is a crime of credibility, and, therefore, she loses credibility in her statements about her own daughter. >> to nancy in virginia. we're taking your calls live tonight. hi, nancy in virginia. what's your question? >> caller: i was wondering if anyone has heard or seen from misty croslin. >> that's a very good question. let's go out to art harris. art, misty croslin left town too. a lot of people are leaving town. where is she right now? >> i can tell you that she is not at home and she is on the road, not expected back anytime soon. as a result of a fight with ronald. she's with a friend, i'm told. and right now ronald does not want to talk to her. >> so misty is not back in town, she's with a friend. ronald is in town. what do you make of it, art harris? >> well, i think that there is not -- there is trouble in paradise. ronald and misty on the rocks. her family, revolving door at

1:19 am
the police are saying wait a minute, that's bizarre behavior, therefore, i think ron knows. i think misty knows something. the weakest link there is actually going to be misty. so they're going to be pushing her because they think she's got the answer. >> and that's a good question, to dr. lisa weinstock, psychiatrist out of new york. everyone almost is now saying they believe that misty is holding something back. her mother said that right before she moved out of town. and now was arrested on felony forgery charges. her father said that before he moved out of town with their mother. and also, others are saying that. why is ron sticking by her side? >> well, he may be sticking by her side because he truly believes she has nothing to do with it. or it may be that deep down he does have an inkling that maybe she had something to do with it but to actually come to terms with that and admit that to himself and others sort of implies that indirectly he's somewhat responsible for the fact that his daughter is gone because he's the one who chose to leave his daughter with her. so that may be something that he's not even really willing to admit to himself, much less to

what we need is for misty to come down here and tell us the truth. >> i'm trying to do everything to find her. you know, answer any questions i have to. because i know i didn't do anything with -- to that little girl. >> misty can relieve this pressure by telling her attorney that, you know, we need to go down to the sheriff's office and really lay out in clear terms what i was doing from 8:00 p.m. till 3:00 a.m. >> do you believe she left the home and left the children alone, ronald? >> absolutely not. >> you stand very strongly behind misty croslin's story. what do you make of police saying that she has the answers? >> i have to leave the investigative part of this to law enforcement because, you know, if i go with every whim and every accusation then i'm going to be flipping back and forth in my life and, you know, what we stand -- you know, we just stand for haleigh here. we just want haleigh to come home. and i want them to find whoever this is, and i don't care who it is. but we want haleigh to come home. >> i'm jean casarez of the legal network "in session" in for nancy grace tonight. news out of tennessee. misty croslin's mother has been arrested in tennessee. let's go out to marlaina schiavo. where is she actually tonight, marlaina? >> she's behind bars, jean, and she will remain there until putnam county authorities come
1:32 am
and extradite her back to florida. >> now, marlaina, she's actually got three felony charges here. we're looking at forgery. we've got uttering a forged instrument. and petty theft. and we found out the maximum is five years on each charge. so that's a maximum of 15 years right there. do we know at all when extradition may begin? >> she may not go back until next week. they're waiting on the authorities now. she was just arrested i believe it was last night. so it should be any day now. >> all right. to t.j. hart, program and news director wsky 97.3 fm. also could be extremely important information from the "st. augustine record" newspaper. it's not the newspaper itself, but it's somebody walking in the front door. explain that. >> well, this woman came in, and she had an envelope that was addressed to the associate editor, richard pryor, and it was an envelope. it was sealed.
1:33 am
had his name on it, had the address on the envelope. and the contents, according to pryor, very volatile. now, he said he can't reveal what the letter says, but he said it's a paragraph long, it's typed, it has three letters at the bottom that resemble initials. and he says if the information's accurate it's going to be quote, pretty volatile. and that sparked off a search yesterday by law enforcement out there at hermit's cove where the trailer of ronald, misty, haleigh, and junior, where they lived at the time haleigh vanished. >> you know, one thing, when authorities say they're following every lead, they truly are in this case. to pat brown, criminal profiler, author of "killing for sport." you know, pat, at first glance i say to myself, why would you take the letter to the newspaper? why wouldn't you take it to the police? but then i think of the btk serial killer in kansas. there were a lot of letters that were given to the news media, actually written by the killer
1:34 am
himself in that case and helped solve the crime. >> right. there's a number of reasons, jean. unfortunately, you have to weigh is it this one or is it that one? one possibility is the person is just seeking attention. they know if they go straight to the police department it might go in with a bunch of tips, might get ignored but if they take it to the press that might get out there and they're going to feel like they got some attention. that's one possibility. another possibility is they're afraid of the police and don't want to have any contact with the police but they actually have real information. but the police get this all the time. so the problem is is this stuff -- is there any meaning behind it? in other words, does it make any sense or do we have somebody who thinks they're a psychic and they've just envisioned haleigh is in a certain place and, therefore, they've written this down and taken it in and now police are going in digging up half the land and there's no body there. but they have to be careful. they have to cull it and make sure they don't overlook something just by saying that's probably just a nut case so, let me just throw it away. >> to sheeba in illinois. hi, sheeba. what's your question? >> caller: hi, jean. my question is what if haleigh and junior were at this party and they stayed in the car and they were having trouble keeping haleigh in the car and somebody slipped them something to sleep and when they went back to check on, of course, she had o.d.'d
1:35 am
which meant she had had a seizure, which meant she had vomited and soiled herself and wet herself and they all got scared and they did wrap her up with something and throw her in a local lake -- >> well, if -- >> caller: or is there a close old cemetery that is still used that has any fresh graves in it? >> well, you know what you're saying, sheeba, you're talking about parties to a crime, people that no one would talk about what happened because all were involved. you bring up an interesting issue, though, to gloria allred out of los angeles, family law attorney. do you think there should be a dual investigation right now, at least from child protective services, because of this handwritten letter from an inmate at the jail right now,
1:36 am
somebody held in custody, talking about a type of a party? should they be investigating the household, itself? >> well, if the police think there's nothing to that letter, then that's one thing. but on the other hand, of course, if there is an open door and then junior was in fact sleeping there at the time, then maybe there is a child -- a potential child endangerment to be looking at. definitely my sense of it is the child protective services would be on the alert. because of the little missing haleigh. >> gloria, it's interesting. police have said yes, we lend no credibility to this letter. yet, gloria, that lake area is where they searched last weekend, and number two, the car that belongs to the person in custody, they have recently searched that car forensically because that's the car the sworn affidavit said the body was taken in and then dumped to the lake. let's go out to melissa in tennessee. hi, melissa, your question. >> caller: hi, jean. first of all, i want to tell you thank you for covering for

nancy. i'm such an avid watcher, and i love the show. >> well, good. thank you. nancy thanks you. >> caller: good. i have a couple questions. my first question is did misty have access to emergency vehicle? if she's keeping ronald's kids while he's at work, did she have access to an emergency vehicle should something happen to the kids when he's gone? and two, why weren't all the family members, friends, and acquaintances sequestered long before this, pushed into lie detector tests, and if there was a party going on at the house why weren't there fingerprints taken all over the house and the garbage? i mean, just as a citizen we just think when there's something like this, a high-profile case and this child's been mising for so long, we just assume authorities are doing every possible thing they can. it just seems like now new information is coming out that could have come out sooner. >> yes. as in seven months ago in

february. let's go to the expert on this, art harris, investigative journalist, artharris.com. art, first of all, misty was the caregiver for those children, especially when ron was at work. %id she have a vehicle in case there was an emergency? >> well, she actually did drive -he kids sometime, and her family had a blue van, jean, that misty did drive, and it was found, you know, in the driveway at her home. a scratch down the side. and i know authorities have processed that van, they brought it back the other day, i actually saw it. it was all dusty and white with finger print powder. they did not find anything or at least they're not revealing if they did. >> art, let's go back to the grinning, what melissa just did from tennessee. was everybody questioned in the beginning? was everybody taken in and asked what they know? and why didn't they say these things then? >> well, you know, it's funny. the law enforcement has done so much more than they have let on. and that has been the big frustration. how much to release. how much not to release. they have interviewed everybody in that family time and time
1:39 am
again and everybody around that family. they have done hundreds and hundreds of interviews. they have hours and hours of tape at the department, and they continue to go over old interviews they've done, jean, then comparing them with the information, the new information they're getting from these people again. >> and very quickly, what do you hear about florida authorities going to tennessee to question misty's mother further? >> well, if i read the court documents correctly, jean, she has a first appearance next wednesday, and anytime they can go and take her after that to florida and she'll be on a $10,000 bond there. i talked to her husband today, hank jr. he's distraught. he's trying to figure out how he can get the bond to get his wife out -- >> all right, art. thank you very much. that would be an extradition hearing next week. to tonight's safety tips. each year 200,000 children end up in the e.r. from accidents on the playground. some of them are fatal. here are safety tips to protect your children. the number one injury -- falls. make sure protective surfacing is underneath all playground equipment. this will lower the risk of

legitimate. >> let's go to dr. lisa weinstock, the true expert, psychiatrist, in all of this. what do you make of that video? talking against your own daughter? >> well, it strikes me a little odd the stance that she took. i mean, she didn't say i know that she was involved. nor did she say i'm sure she's not involved. nor did she say i would support her no matter what, although she sort of said that a little bit at the end. she sort of made this vague comment that she suspects her daughter might know something. and that strikes me as somewhat odd because one would think if she knew her daughter knew something or if she knew something she would be more straightforward or forthcoming with that either to the media or to the police. so i'm not quite sure what to make of it. i do agree that she probably at some level was trying to communicate to her daughter that she's there to support her. but again, the precise wording of it strikes me as a bit odd. >> and the fact is all the attorneys know if anything ever gets in court and her daughter is even a witness in this case that statement could come back to haunt her because it was used -- it would be used by prosecutors if she would be a defense witness on cross-examination. we've got a caller standing by in florida tonight waiting patiently. rick, are you still there? >> caller: oh, yeah, i'm still here, jean. thank you.
