a history of fighting for justice, even in the case of capital punishment and other issues like that. we're not arguing over someone's guilt. we're arguing over how we allocate justice in this country and that's where it keeps going back to, a.j.. >> got end to it there. as we move on tonight, the breaking revelations from mackenzie phillips about her sexual relationship with her father. this is new tonight, because just tonight on cnn's larry king live, mackenzie phillips exposes yet another bombshell about having sex with her dad. >> when did it end? >> it ended when i became pregnant. >> was it his baby? >> plus, you're not going to believe what her half sister bijuo is saying today about mackenz mackenzie's claims. and tonight, the dramatic details from john travolta himself of how he says he was shaken down for $25 million after his son's death.

welcome back to "showbiz tonight." i'm a.j. hammer in new york. tonight, the brand-new astoni astonishing revelations from mackenzie phillips about her incestuous relationship with her father and why her younger half sister now says she's lying. that's just one of two stories with big news breaking today. just hours ago on cnn's "larry king live," mackenzie phillips exposed yet another bombshell today, claiming her father is the one who paid for her abortion. and now her half sister, actress bijou phillips says, don't believe her. and in more big news breaking, john travolta took the stand today in the extortion
11:45 am
case. he explains how he was shaken down for $25 million. joining me tonight in new york, ben whitcombe, a editor for stylist.com. and kim serafin with "in touch weekly." mackenzie phillips speaking out again today about new claims of an incestuous relationship with her father, john phillipses of the mammas and the pa pass. just hours ago on "larry king live," mackenzie claims the relationship ended when she got pregnant and her father paid for her to have an abortion. >> larry: when did it end? >> it ended when i became pregnant. >> larry: was it his baby? >> i don't know. >> larry: you were sleeping with someone else? >> my son's father. >> larry: it could have been his baby too? >> it could very well have been. but the implications of such were so mind boggling disturbing to me. >> larry: did you have an abortion? >> yes, i did. >> larry: did you tell your father? >> he paid for it and i never, ever let him touch me again. >> ben, off to you, obviously,
11:46 am
you've had a lot of skeptics questioning her claims, but now with these new details, do they support the argument that, hey, you really can't make this stuff up? >> it's really impossible to know, a.j. this is an issue which has divided her own family. it's impossible for anyone other than the two people who were allegedly involved in this situation to know what the real truth is. people who have known her her entire life are split on whether she's telling the truth or not. i believe she believes she's telling the truth. as we know, there is such a thing as false memory recovery syndrome and other people who get these things wrong, occasionally, for whatever reason, but it's really shocking. and the fact is, we don't know. >> and it's just so hideous to think of the implications that this may have actually taken place. let me play this other part of mackenzie's new interview on "larry king live." mackenzie talked in brand-new and very stunning detail about the night she first remembered having sex with her dad. this was supposed to be the night before her wedding. look at this. >> the night before my father came to florida with the intention to stop the union,
11:47 am
nobody wanted me to marry jeff, and i went over to my father's hotel room and we -- he had a lot of drugs, i had a lot of drugs, we took a lot of drugs, and all i remember is arriving in the room, getting high, and then i remember sort of -- you know how you kind of -- i don't know if you know this, you probably don't know this, if you're in a blackout and then you're not in your body and then you come to in your body, i was in the act of having sex with my father. >> again, just incredible to have. here's the thing to hear. there are a lot of people rallying around mackenzie and the story she's telling about incest, it can be a positive thing to talk about. but there are still those not buying it because of her history with drugs and blacking out. kim, if there's even a chance mackenzie's story is true, obviously she's a victim. is it completely unfair for people to judge her? >> yeah. again, nobody really knows except her and her father, who's not alive anymore. although when you watch that interview, it really does seem
11:48 am
like it's not so cathartic for her. it seems like she's having a lot of trouble talking about this. which makes it seem a lot more true. you are hearing so many people speak out. she's said that, you know, calls to incest lines are up, that she's getting so much positive feedback from incest survivors w who have come forward. if she's doing something good, that's a good thing. >> ben, as you mentioned, this really that as divided their family. mackenzie's half sister, chynna came out supporting her sister, saying she does believe her. but another half sister, bijou phillips does not believe. she's calling mackenzie a flat-out liar. let me read from this twitter rant that bijou posted this week. when i was young, my sister told me about this. it ruined my life and my relationship with my father. until that point, afs normal kid. started doing drugs and did not talk o to my dad anymore. i was f'd up with i'm 29 now,
11:49 am
i've talked to everyone, do not believe my sister. our family is many things, this is not one of them. do you think mac should shut these interviews now, stop doing the book tour. >> clearly, this is something she needs to talk about, even though it's causing all this controversy. i think she has the right to tell her story and says what she believes happened to her. it's fascinating bijou is blaming this incident for herself going off the rail. she was famous in the fashion industry in the late '90s as a really troubled model, so it's interesting to hear her credit this with going off the rails opinion. and john travolta took the stand today related to his son's death. he describes a paramedic's plot to extort $25 million from john by threatening to expose a document that john said today would, quote, imply that the death of my son was intentional and i was culpable in some way. i have to tell you, hearing those words, and they came from
11:50 am
john travolta's mouth, my heart breaks hearing him going through this. >> to have to go through this publicly and relive a lot of it, on top of people are criticizing him for not coming sooner, saying his son was autistic, saying he should have said that sooner as he is still dealing with this. good for him for getting out there to show other people who might try to do this to celebrities, you're not going to get away with it. >> hopefully he is getting closure. thank you, guys. as we move on tonight, right now, britney spears getting freaky with her old buddy from 'n sync. not just justin timber lake, but lance bass. the guy is sitting on the couch in the middle. that's lance. now, there have been all kinds of rumors online that brittney gave a lap dance to lance. well, it may not have been a lap dance, but he certainly got an eyeful. hey, some guys have all the luck. tonight, tory spelling's

faster. i wanted to clear something out, and see what's outside. and then i realized there's a kid on the next door window. but i told him to keep his head out the window and breathe. that's the best he could do. i didn't want to take out the window -- what did you call it? >> the frame. >> the frame, because i didn't want him to fall out, didn't want to risk that. the kid is lucky to make it, he's a strong kid. >> a true hero. he used the media attention to take another risk and proposed to his girlfriend on live tv. by the way, she did accept. there are still no signs of a tennessee infant taken from his mother's home. the woman is covering from a collapsed lung and several stab wounds. maria garolo was kidnapped. an amber alert was issued for the baby. last night nancy grace talked to her neighbor immediately after the moment of the baby's abduction. here it is.

>> miss kimball, what happened when the mom -- when you first saw the mom following the stabbing? >> she -- well, when she came to my door, she said, "please help me." she said, "a woman has stabbed me, and she has taken my baby. she is going to kill my baby. ". >> miss kimball, when you first saw her, the mother, what did she look like? >> she was covered in blood. blood was gushing out of the side of her neck. it was coming down her face. it was all down her body. it was just dripping everywhere. >> miss kimball, this is an important question. does she have anything in the front yard, like blue balloons or one of those stork posters or anything celebrating bringing the baby home? >> yes. there was something there saying a baby boy was born at the

12:10 pm
summer olympics. first lady michelle obama is in copenhagen now, chatting up the international olympic committee on behalf of her hometown. chicago is competing against rio dde janeiro, tokyo and madrid. chicago is the odds-on favorite to win the vote tomorrow. this may surprise you. so far, chicago has spent more than $100 million in its bid and organizers estimate the games will cost $3.8 billion. some people say, you know, it's worth it. the games would stimulate the economy and the city could make money, since it has much of the infrastructure in place already. but we wanted to know what you thought about this. should chicago host the 2016 olympic games? we go to the phone lines right away. we start with janard in texas. what do you think? what's your view? >> caller: absolutely. i'm perplexed and saddened by the attitude of some chicagoans. perplexed because it seems like
12:11 pm
it's a no-brainer, going to bring billions of dollars to help to stimulate their economy, and they certainly need that, and they certainly need the image of an olympic game in their area. and saddened because it just seems like here is another sad witch hunt on the part of a conservative group that thinks that anything that our president suggests or advises to be a part of, they think that it's dubious in nature. and i just totally disagree. it's a great idea for chicago, and they should embrace the opportunity, because of the infusion of capital in their marketplace. >> janard thank you, from texas. richard in new york, what do you think? is it a go ahead, a good idea in chicago or no? >> caller: yes, i think it's a great idea. i agree with janard, 100%. it's just the pride we would have of having it in the united states. and i can guarantee, if president obama did not go and pitch forward, and we lost, and went -- and it went to madrid, then the same people who are saying he never should have been
12:12 pm
there will be yelling and screaming at why didn't he go there? he's probably unamerican. >> so you think it's political. >> caller: oh, of course, it is. and where were they last year, when george bush was over in china for four days? and they didn't say a thing when we had two wars going on and the economy was collapsing. so i think it's all political. >> interesting view, richard. thank you. we finally go to freddie in anderson, texas. how do you feel? do you think chicago should be kind of fighting for this, and obama should be involved or not? what do you think? >> caller: no, i do not. i disagree with it. it's going to cost a lot of money. chicago is broke now. and i -- it's corrupt. i just don't feel like it would be a good idea. >> is it political, in your eyes? do you think that president obama has other things on his plate he should be focusing on? >> caller: absolutely. i think he should be focusing on our troops. he hasn't acknowledged anything. they're asking for more. these troops need him. they need his support.
12:13 pm
i think as far as the medical, things like that -- >> okay. so you say there is a lot more to focus on than the olympics. freddie, thank you. so much thanks for calling in. we want to know what you think. burden or boon? should chicago host the 2016 olympic games? give us a call, let us know what you think. 877-tell-hln. you can also e-mail us, cnn.com/hln. or text the word views plus your kmeptsd comments and name to hlntv. standard text rates apply. we have an exciting addition to our prime time line up. funeral services will be held saturday for derrion albert, the honor student beaten to death during a gang fight in chicago. police there say they are

fighting a code of silence, as they try to track down more suspects in this case. the whole thing was caught on tape as dozens of young people looked on. last night on our sister network, cnn, chicago's police superintendent vented his frustration. here he is. >> this young man was killed. the entire city is outraged, and yet we have gotten no tips, no calls. >> are you serious? no one? >> no one has called in that i'm aware of from talking to the detectives, and provided us with any information. that is unbelievable to me, when the offenders are teenagers, they're involved with other teenagers that go to the same school, and no one calls in. we are literally getting killed by this code of silence. this no snitching rule, and we've got to work hard to overcome it. so far, police have arrested four teens on first degree murder charges. investigators are looking for three more suspects. and another chicago teenager is clinging to life in the hospital after he was beaten on a north side street. police have not identified the

14-year-old victim. a witness says the boy was chased down by three male attackers who beat him. one allegedly struck him in the head with a shiny object. the teen is in critical condition with a fractured skull. the tennessee man accused of abducting his own children in japan insists he didn't do anything wrong. christopher savoy tells cnn, he is scared he may never see his kids again. savoy says his ex-wife took the children to japan in violation of their custody agreement. but japanese law considers her the sole guardian. cnn was granted an interview him, but no cameras were allowed. here's what he says. i am so scared. i don't know how long i'll be here. i want americans to know what is happening to me. i didn't do anything wrong. he went on to say, japanese people think she's the victim here. in the states, my ex-wife is the one who was in the wrong. savoy also has a message for his children. he says this. i love you, isaac, rebecca, your

gas. the giant says its deal to sell saturn to roger penski, has fallen through. penski owns a chain of car dealerships. his company can't find a manufacturer to build the cars, so he is walking away from the deal. there are 350 saturn dealerships in the country, employing about 13,000 people. gm will stop making saturns after 2011. like so many people, if you were a homeowner in financial trouble, you need to act pretty fast. you may be able to save your home, and your credit. that is good news. hln money expert clark howard tells you how. >> i get a lot of questions from people wanting to know if they negotiate a deal with their mortgage lender, how is that going to affect their credit score and credit standing? well, the three major credit bureaus put out a report that says that if you just negotiate a new payment plan with your lender, that the effect on your credit score is actually very
12:21 pm
small. almost meaningless. but what if you say, i give up, and you negotiate a short sale? the effect on your credit score, getting up there. you lose over 100 points. let's say instead you just say, i give up, here are the keys and you allow yourself to be foreclosed on. the effect is actually just a little worse than doing a short sale. but if you really want to blow up your credit, you file for bankruptcy. because then what it will do is drop your credit score, you're not going to believe this, but over 300 points. it's better to stay and try to work something out. i'm clark howard. for more ways for you to be smart with your wallet, go to cnn.com/clarkhoward. watch clark howard every saturday and sunday at noon and 4:00 p.m. eastern. you know, legend has it davy crockett killed a bear when he was only 3. this boy was only 5, and he bagged something bigger.

i'm jane velez-mitchell, and here's my issue. the "new york daily news" said it all. no booze and blood. the nypd cop who allegedly killed a woman while drunk behind the wheel was given seven hours to give a sobriety test. and surprise, surprise, there was not a hint a drop of alcohol in his system when he was finally tested. meanwhile, the "new york post" says police are investigating the first cops on the scene, whether they allegedly tried to help out their buddy, giving him chewing gum and water to mask the smell of alcohol. now, i'm not naive. i realize this probably happens all of the time. but that old blue wall of silence isn't what it used to be, people. with 24-hour news and cameras everywhere, cops trying to sweep something under the rug, it just ends up taking everyone down. i'm jane velez-mitchell, and that's my issue. find out what else jane has on her mind, watch "issues"
