two separate helicopter crashes. the heaviest one-day loss of life for americans in more than four years. the first incident a chopper went down killing seven u.s. troops three civilians believed to be dea agents. the helicopter had just left the scene of a firefight. now, in the southern part of the country, four u.s. troops were killed when two choppers collided in midair. students from a college in st. louis say racism kept them out of a chicago bar. nearly 200 students, had gone to chicago on class trip they went to this bar. all the white classmates got in. all six black students were not allowed in. they say they were told they didn't meet the dress code because their pants were too baggy. so the students cooked up a little experiment. >> he's actually wearing my pants. he actually later on went back to the hotel he did a switch of pants and he put my pants on.

opens tomorrow night. they're keeping this under wraps. there are quotes in it british press la toya and joe jackson suspect body doubles were used in this. however, the family is solidly behind this project. they're going to be at the debuts at the nokia theater in los angeles on wednesday and i believe even joe may be participating in some of thesish but the fans richelle, they saying this is not it and set up a website called "this is not it" dotcom. claiming the big mystery, could she have done these concerts? the people behind it showing robust healthy vigorous michael. well, was that really the case? >> the question is, though would fans -- if the fans say that, some family members say, he couldn't have pulled this off, would they want to see michael at his worst? wouldn't they be upset then as well if they 3u9 forth a movie where michael wasn't the best? i'm not advocating body doubles.

we don't know if that's true. wouldn't they want a film where they show michael at his best? wouldn't they be upset if that wasn't the case? >> good point. the flip side also important, there's a group of fans that would tag along behind michael wherever he went in the final years. the fans who set up this site and claim that michael was in such bad health four days before his death, that they bepged him not to do this concert. they claim on their website that the things we don't see, for example, are scenes of kenny ortega, the director and choreographer of this cutting up michael's food feeding him helping him up the stairs. that's how frail he was. >> allegation. no proof. >> right. >> speaking of ortega, a clip of sound of him talking about la toya jackson. let's play that now. >> i don't agree with it but at the same time i respect that la toya's concerns. michael was a perfectionist. the important thing here is she hasn't seen the film yet and i hope that when she does she'll come to realize that what this is is a great celebration of a

master of his craft and that it is a privileged peak at that, the creative process of a genius. and that we really do come to understand the reasons behind the way michael wanted to do this project. white was so important towhy it was so important to go out after a ten-year absence. >> and we played that in the middle. he's talking about la toya's also saying that she doesn't think michael would be pleased with think, because michael was such a perfectionist. he wouldn't want people to see the process. what's your take on that? >> right. we'll never really know because we'll never get behind the scenes of this to find out how much is real how much is fabricated and allegation they relied heavily on studio recorded music. we see michael's lips moving but is he really singing? in fairness to the producers, they didn't know that this was going to be so important. they were just shooting random footage for archival purposes mean by hind-the-scenes document prip suddenly when it was needed

as actual evidence of this concert and what we missed then it became really important. even if a lot of these allegation are true and body doubles were there? i could see as a director needing that creatively for transition. i could see using some recorded music needed for creative purposes again but is it honest? >> last question before we let you go. because everyone wants to know. money, money money. who stands to make the most money from this? >> well, the money comes down this way. $400 million is the projected take of this. sony paid $60 million to aeg the concert organizers for the footage. as soon as sewingy makes bake their $60 million, the profits on the other side get splid 90% to the jackson estate and 10% to aeg. >> be clear, the jackson estate does not mean all of the jacksons. it means the mother and the children. et cetera, et cetera. no la toya joe and every other jackson you can name? >> that's right. >> staying clear.

pay packages of the next 75 most highest -- highly compensated employees. the decision, what you could see for those employees likely come in december maybe early next year. and the reason for this is it's not unheard of on wall straight for star traders to be in line for pay packages when it you total it up to be tens of millions of dollars. sometimes it eclipsed that of senior management in the first group of compensation cuts that we saw come out last week richelle. >> all right. my next question is addressing the concern that a lot of people have when you talk about the slippery slope. what about companies that did not get t.a.r.p. money poppy? are they -- >> yeah. >> is their pay going to be tampered with at all? >> i think that's a great question, because a lot of folks say, well, it's unamerican for the government to step in here, and, you know implement change at a company where they vice president gotten any taxpayer funded bail out. we have seen changes, when you look at morgan stanley that paid back its t.a.r.p. money, they

instituted clawbacks, the right to take back money if employees actions, a trade results in a loss a few years down the road at the firm. some critics say that's not going to solve the problem. the only thing that is giving shareholders say over the compensation of the people that sit at the top of the firms through the compensation committee. that's part of the board. they decide on executive pay. nell minnow is the chair of the corporate library, pushing for this reform for decades. we talked to her today, and here's what she had to say on that topic. >> right now the consumers of ceo pay the shareholders have almost no ability to send any signal back. you can't replace the directors who do it wrong, you can't say no to these outrageous awards. it's unthinkable, unfathomable to me that directors continue to serve, directors who have approved compensation awards that have created perverse incentives continue to serve.

>> all right. you can see more her interview on cnn money. but to get to that point congress may pass a bill, letting shareholders have more on the say of executive pay. the issue here it wouldn't be binding. so some have been pushing to have more say of who sits on the boards. but it's not easy and really, you have to have deep pockets to do this. right now, to propose an alternative slate of directors shareholders must pay millions of dollars forward, have their own proxy statements distributed at the annual board meeting. so in the absence of this the oh only real way to sort of out a sitting executive is to create public pressure. that's really what we saw richelle, when we saw ken lewis stripped of his chairman title at bank of america. so it's difficult to evoke change of the a lot of folks want the system changed. that's what the woman you heard from,nell minnow mentioned. you can see it on cnn money. >> thank you poppy. someone is challenging

every morning two young children have to help their mom put her arms and legs on. the result of a medical misdiagnosis that devastated

their lives. cnn.com live's reggie aki has more on this story. i know that intro got people's attention, reggie. what is the story? >> reporter: it certainly did. en our new site cnn.com's her story and text story are the most popular for much of the day today. that is because she is in probably one of the most awful positions you can imagine especially given how simple this should have been. you see, she thought she had kidney stones so she went to the hospital a number of years ago. when she got there, there was some miscommunication among the doctors, and alleged misdiagnosis. and that led her being discharged without the kidney stones being removed. so here's what happened. she got very sick. her toes and fingers began turning black and discolored. it spread up to her limbs. the only option at that point to have all of her limbs removed. and so every day her kids as you can see in these pictures, have to put those limbs on and essentially run the household. or at least help a lot of the

tasks she normally would be able to do that she can't now. her kids are just 10 and 11. she lost her job she lost her marriage. she sued for malpractice, and get this richelle. she lost. a judge has come along though, and said that she deserved a new trial. it could take years before that actually happens. probably the most heart breaking sound bite in all of this is from the 10-year-old son who says richelle, that he's mad at god for what he did to her. >> oh, my goodness. >> so hard to hear that, coming out of a 10-year-old boy's mouth. >> oh my goodness, he is mad at god. an incredibly compelling story. we have a lot of stories like that on cnn.com. you said she is getting a new trial. >> she is. >> there is always two sides, and then the truth somewhere in the middle. >> yeah. >> but wow very compelling. >> it's going to cost a lot to get there and could take a long time. we'll see. >> all right reggie. we know when you're on the internet, we have to be careful for your security. we know this. but you're telling us of another way cyber criminals are
