[applause] [captions copyright national cable satellite corp. 2011] [captioning performed by national captioning institute] >> when janet napolitano declares the mexican border is safe, that is dishonest. when obama and holder and clinton blame american gun owners for mexican drug crime, even as our own government is running guns south, that is politics at its most cynical and most despicable. operation fast and furious may have got in one or two federal agents killed. countless other innocent victims have been murdered with the illegal guns that our own

government allowed into mexico, all to advance the political agenda. over and over and over, americans heard the president, the attorney general, the secretary of state, and members of congress claimed that mexico's violent crime was the result of american fire arms flowing south of the border. they blamed our rights, even as they allowed illegal straw buyers to walk free, right across the border. they engage in a massive gun running operation sponsored by our own american tax dollars. these schemers have the gall to say it is our fault? that the second amendment is to blame? the second amendment is to blame? eric holder, you saw it, said he did not know about the operations.

he is the attorney general of the united states of america -- the highest law-enforcement officer in our land. he is in charge, and he did not know? then, who was minding the store at the justice department? if a holder did not know, holder has got to go. [applause] >> i call on president obama to order atf and the justice department officials to testify before the united states congress, and fully disclose every detail of their rope operation. mr. president, it is time to come clean. stop the stonewalling, and stopped the lights.

[applause] >> because the lighting is getting people killed every single day. the justice department called mexico's drug cartels the biggest organized crime threat to the united states of america. almost -- over 1 million gained members, now active in every state in the united states. cartels are bringing drugs, murder, torture, and mayhem right into our neighborhoods. the administration does not care. while calling for more gun laws, they have done nothing to crack down on the border, and everything to make it worse. janet napolitano, the secretary of homeland security, recently told americans the border was safe. well, janet, you must have been

thinking about our friends in canada. if you are talking about the mexican border, where what you said is either clueless, or is dishonest. i went to our southern border. in fact, i have been to the border more than the president. [applause] >> despite what janet says, the border is anything but safe. it is white hot, and it is chilling. take a look. >> the smugglers down here on the night road, they have the high point. they can see as coming from miles. it is almost like you are in afghanistan. they are watching your every move, basing their movements and what we are doing. >> they are likely to have people in this high ground? >> they have people up there to

let them know when law enforcement is in the area, if it is clear for the drugs to go through. they have military precision, and we have to counter that with military precision. they are using military tactics of american soil, and it is just unreal. every citizen of our country needs to know what you are dealing with down here. they really do because it will impact them, their lives, and their kids' lives down the road. >> this problem effect the entire country because these cartels are recruiting our youth. a particular group we know has been in the united states, and the violence is carrying over, and they are making u.s. game is even more violent, harming them better, and teaching them tactics to use. it is a bad combination. >> it is crazy. >> it is impacting every city in the united states toward >> absolutely.

these cartels realize they can rely on u.s.gangs to further their cartel. >> janet napolitano says this area is safe. do not believe it. there are criminals and drug gangs coming over this border every day. over 40,000 already have a criminal record in the united states, and washington, d.c., has their heads in the sand. those rangers are out here every night, and they know with absolute certainty the only thing they have is the second amendment of the devastates to
