americans. i visited with workers and parents who were living paycheck to paycheck and share the concerns about the future for their families and our country. like most americans, my constituents are frustrated with the status quo. they wish washington would stop meddling with things that are not broking and start fixing the things that are. there is too much talk and not enough action. those i talked to want to know -- why can our leaders do their jobs? i know how they feel. my republican colleagues in the house have made the keep american priorities are priority. we passed bill after bill to have our struggling economy, save taxpayer dollars, lower the cost of gas and groceries and help every child get a good education. democrats have decided to do nothing. bills applying up -- are piling up. even when it comes to a crisis, house republicans pass a commonsense solution and senate democrats left town without doing the hard work to pass. that is he responsible.

recent weeks, republicans have led efforts to enact a job legislation that helps people get back to work. we have bitter -- given veterans timely access to the care they need. we have prevented major highways from being shut down. there is much more work to be done. enjoysnt obama complaining about congress but the fact is, his own party controls the senate and they need to get to work. the bills that have been signed into law -- more than 75% of them have originated in the house. senate democrats have failed to take action on more than 340 bills passed by the house. bipartisanm have support, including most of the job bills that are stuck in this do nothing senate. if they are interested in making progress, the president has a lot of catching up to do. republicans are not going to slow down, we are going to pass more common sense solutions to help american families. we're going to keep the pressure

is encouraging women to vote and seek office. >> when democrats have talked about turnout issues they may have in the midterm election, young women are one of the groups that get mentioned as being drop of voters and voters that are more likely to turn out in presidential years. what kind of things is emily's list doing to ensure they will show up at the polls this year? >> it is such an important part of a midterm game we are playing. how do we insure they go out? a lot of young women voters we need to get to these polls. and the -- emily's list has a history. about 20 years ago -- it was 20 years ago, we started the women's vote program which is the independent expenditure arm. we have been doing this a long

time. over those two decades now, we have been doing research on how votingre thinking about and how they best get their information. the years of history and information, we are able to educate women voters across the country. you look at -- going back to north carolina, we have seen television spots -- we are talking about issues they want to talk about. we have got candidates who are supporting the issues that they see are going to provide them opportunities moving forward. that is a big piece of moving women to the polls. you have to talk about the issues that are affecting their daily lives. for young women, not getting paid the same as their male counterparts is a huge issue. affiliated research arm -- american women -- has done some really amazing
