they broadly want to work together on. republicans say they want democrats to come aboard on these new agreements and fast-track for the president. how do you plan to handle this with your role on the budget committee, into think this has any prospect of getting through congress this year? >> those are separate issues. our infrastructure is crumbling. we used to be first place in the world in terms of quality of our infrastructure. today we are 12 lace. -- 12th place. we have got to bring the structure up to par. we've got to address that. as a former mayor it is not going to get any better. that is one issue. the trade issue is another

issue. it is a fairly controversial issue. i strongly disagree with the president on that. if you look at the facts, i think you'll find that nafta calf deck, trade relations have cost us billions of decent paying job. companies have shut down in the united states of america, and to china, gone to mexico, gone to low-wage entries. the transpacific agreement will continue that process. the minimum wage in vietnam is $.56 an hour. $.56 an hour. american people should not forced to compete against people who are making horrendously low wages. if we learn anything from the past, we have learned that our working people have paid a terrible price in terms of job loss, a race for the bottom. i think we should kill this agreement and find something that works for workers and not multinational corporations.
