facts number one, around is today the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism. overis deal goes through, $100 billion will go to a run. in the billions of those dollars will go directly to hamas, to have unless the to the houthis to radical islamic terrorists throughout the world, and the jihadists will use those billions of the control to murder americans, to murder israelis, to murder europeans. if president obama does not like the rhetoric of his

administration becoming the financier ofng radical terrorism, there is an easy solution. radical islamic terrorism. [applause] the fifth thing i intend to do on the first day in office is begin the process of moving the american is busy in israel to jerusalem, the ones of internal capital of israel. -- once and eternal capital of israel. a lot of presidential candidates have made that promise. inevitably, when the into the white house 13 comes to them in say if you do that, other people in the middle east are going to be really unhappy with you. noticed, theyt are already pretty unhappy with us. biggestell you this
5:14 pm
difference between me and the other fine gentleman standing on that debate stage. with me, when i tell you i'm going to do something, i'm going to do exactly what i said i would do. [applause] that is day one. [laughter] there are 365 days in a year. quattro years in a presidential term, and quattro years of a second term. years, end of the eight there will be an awful lot of newspaper roll editors reporters, and journalists who have checks themselves into therapy. in the days that follow, i will go to congress and we will repeal every word of obamacare.
5:15 pm
[applause] in the days that follow, i will instruct the federal department of education, which should be will instruct the department of education that common core ends today. [applause] first, and that is that we will rebuild our military and we will honor the commitments we have made to our soldiers and sailors and airmen and reading. and we will allow all servicemen and women to exercise their right to keep and bear arms. [applause] that means the next time a

jihadists shows up at a recruiting center in chattanooga, he is going to discover the business end of firearms will and by a dozen marines. follow, we aret finally, finally, finally going to secure the border and and sanctuary cities. we are going to stop the obama administration's indefensible policy of releasing filing it criminal illegal aliens and we're going to pass case law. [applause] follow, we aret going to take on the out-of-control regulators, the fourth branch of government for the epa, the department of labor, the alphabet soup that dissent on locust on farms and
5:17 pm
ranches and small businesses and we're going to bring back looming economic growth. [applause] and in the days that follow, and go to congress and we will pass fundamental tax reform, adopting a simple flat tax. so that every american can fill out her his or her taxes on a postcard. and when we do that, we should abolish the irs. there are about 90,000 employees at the irs. we need to padlock that building , take all 90,000 of them on our southern border.
5:18 pm
now to our friends in the media, what time inomeon chief. but imagine you traveled thousands of miles in the blazing sun coming you are -- movingoss th across the rio grande. on the first thing you see is 90,000 irs agents. he would turn around and go home. be thinkingmight that makes sense to me, it is simple common sense, live within your means, don't bankrupt your kids and grandkids, follow because situation. -- follow the constitution. but can it happen? can we do it? us there islls nothing new under the sun. i think where we are today is very much like the 1970's.
5:19 pm
between this administration and the carter administration are uncanny. stagnation and malaise. feckless and 90 foreign policy. the exact same countries, russia andiran openly laughing at knocking the president of the united states. why is it that gives me so much hope and encouragement? we know how that story ended. all across this country millions of men and women rose up and became the reagan revolution. and it did not come from washington. washington despised ronald reagan.
5:20 pm
see a candidate who washington embraces, run and hide. [applause] it came from the american people, and it turned this country around. we went from stagnation to booming economic growth. we went from hostages in iran to winning cold war and tearing the berlin wall to the ground. [applause] optimistic? is happeningg today. millions of americans are waking up and saying this does not make any sense. bus to workshed a through seven states and seven days. every top, men and women can open to me -- came up to me and said you know, i voted for barack obama in 2008. ed home in 2012, and this year i am voting are you. [applause]
5:21 pm
another man in tulsa, oklahoma, a working man with calluses on his hand, with greece and sweat on his shirt walked up to me and , i have been registered democrat my entire life. he said this morning i went down to the county clerk and a registered as a republican to vote for you. [applause] that is happening all over this country. how do we win this race? running a populist campaign of hard-working men and women against the bipartisan corruption of washington dc. [applause] that hillary clinton embodies. us, freedom is not
5:22 pm
some abstract concept. it is personal, it is real, it is our families. , pastorabout my dad rafael cruz. he spent a lot of time here in iowa. he will continue to spend a lot of time here in iowa. group in cuba. he was in prison, he was tortured as a teenager. he fled to america with nothing. in 1957, 1 hundred dollars in his underwear, he cannot speak anlish and was making $.50 hour. theywould be the obama -- really don't want you to know that my dad washed dishes, make $.50 an hour. he worked full-time, he paid his way through school.
5:23 pm
he worked with my mom to start a business. today my dad is a pastor and he travels the country preaching the gospel. [applause] when i was a kid, my father used to say to me over and over again , when we face of oppression in cuba, i had a place to flee to. here, lose our freedom where do we go? that is why we are here today. [applause] we are here today because the men and women at the state fair, the men and women of iowa, the management of america, we are not prepared to go quietly into the night. we are not prepared to give up on our children and grandchildren. and fight for freedom. we will stand and fight with the constitution.
5:24 pm
[applause] what we are doing now is not working. i have to tell you i cannot wait to stand on that today's stage with hillary clinton. [applause] because to gather, we the people are coming together and to gather i am convinced, i am certain, we're going to restore that shining city on a hill that is the united states of america. thank you and god bless you. [applause]

>> and women are left behind. senator cruz: it is interesting. we have had big government policy, and it is women that have been left behind. >> [indiscernible] >> senator, thank you. >> can you get a picture?
5:30 pm
senator cruz: i think we should follow the data and evidence. a lot of states don't look at the data. >> there he is. right here. >> [indiscernible] senator cruz: thank you. what will you do to support early childhood education? senator cruz: i think school choice is the civil rights issue of the 21st century. i think it is unacceptable the democratic party is standing as a roadblock. every child in america deserves access to excellent schools regardless of race, ethnicity, and wealth. a republican seen candidate for president make school choice a central issue in this national debate.
5:31 pm
it is my hope at the end of my tenure as president, if i'm elected, that we will see educational opportunities and choices dramatically expanded for every child and parent in america. thank you for being here. do you have a camera? where? >> there we go. >> thank you. senator cruz: thank you very much. go.here you you got it. senator cruz: thank you very much. what is your name? how old are you, craig? you are four? are you having fun at the state
5:32 pm
fair? >> mrs. mommy and daddy time. he has not had fun yet. this is adult time. senator cruz: are you having -- looking forward to having a ie?p-fried twink >> daddy, too. >> right here. dad's cellphone. senator cruz: thank you very much. god bless you. >> thank you, senator. senator cruz: where is the camera? right here. >> thank you, senator. >> got it? >> can you get it for me? 5:34 pm

5:36 pm
and losers. >> deregulation, is that the answer? senator cruz: both of those, absolutely. there are more words the i.r.s. code than in the bible. it is a classic tool of the washington cartel because they carve out loopholes. they get in because the lobbyists push for it. one of the best reasons to have a flat tax, because if you have aflat tax it means when lobbyist were small business owner comes to washington, a politician cannot extract favors because you pay the same taxes anyone else. i want to get back to an arena aere washington plays less of role in our lives every day and we empower americans. >> that makes perfect sense. thank you so much.
5:37 pm

5:38 pm
what evangelicals are doing [indiscernible] mainline christian, not evangelical. he got 8% of the vote. senator cruz: scripture commands scripture. light if you are hidden under a bushel. we are also commanded as christians to be watchmen. there are about 90 million evangelicals, 30% of the population. the last election, [indiscernible] it is my hope the body of christ will stand up and vote biblical values. not the individual candidate, but rather the values of the individual candidate. christians, be they evangelical democrat -- christians or reagan
