i hear anything where i think they might want to compromise on something because i might want to match my values to the candidate of my choice. >> what are your most important issues? >> my most important issues involve the supreme court. i want a justice appointed in justice scalia's place who will be like him and interpret the constitution for what it says and not what they want it to say or want it to be or use it to make laws themselves. i'm a strong pro lifer and

that's hugely important for me and i would love to see changes in the education of the system that support the learning of our children instead of boxing them in into a certain way of doing things for the purposes of standardized testing. i know that we need to test and gauge where our children are, but i think there's a better way to do that to create those kinds of standardized tests. >> why did you choose ted cruz over say marco rubio who is making similar pitches. >> good question. i was between senator cruz and senator rubio for a long time because they are so similar. but i feel like i connect with senator cruz on a different level than i do senator rubio. i feel a fashion and conviction. when i listen to rubio i didn't so much conviction as i heard scriptedness in him.

but i do hear passion and i hear conviction and i do hear leadership in senator cruz when he speaks. if you want to raise good decent human beings if you're passionate about it have vision it's never too early. it's never ever too late to get involved. >> thank you for speaking with c-span. >> thank you very much.

republican presidential candidate donald trump spoke at a rally. on saturday the state holds its republican presidential primary. this is 45 minutes.

unbelievable. thank you. thank you. unbelievable. so it's crunch time, folks. it's crunch time. you know what that means right? we got to get out tomorrow. we have to vote. all these thousands and thousands of people, you have to get out and vote because we of a movement and we have something very special no matter where you look and no matter -- these people behind you, you see them, the press. look at all this have 'em. it's like the academy awards. like the academy awards. hello hello, press. we love the press. we're hard on the press. i've called them so many different names. tonight i'm going to say, we love you. okay? is this is my last speech. i made four of them today. we had thousands -- we had 8,000 at the first one. we have been packed every single one.

and we have a movement going on that is so special. they're talking about it all over the world. cover of time magazine. you have to get it. last week, cover of time magazine the greatest story you've ever seen. it's been incredible. 35,000 people in alabama, 20,000 people twice in oklahoma. we just left new hampshire and packed every single venue. we had numbers that nobody else has ever had, ever had. and we'll keep it going. we say, oh who knows what the numbers are. the polls are very nice but who knows? we can't take a chance, right? because we're going to make america great again. but we can't do that. if you don't get out there tomorrow, all right? and the more we can do it and

the more we can win by the bigger the mandate and the better it is and the easiest job we'll have. i want to thank you. this all began on june 16th. who knew this was going to happen. i think it may -- i've won a lot over my life. i even win a lot of club championships, that's good. right. but i'm not going to be playing much golf. if i win this i'm not going to be playing, believe me. win be club championships is hard and takes something a little special. he understands that. it takes a little bit different and special. by a lot of people are pouring in and you don't want me to start half an hour from now. folks, just come on back here. this is a nice room. see this room, you know what that feeling reminds me of, the

wall that we're going to build. the wall. that's what it reminds me of. so we started on june 16th. i came down the escalator. i said to my wife, let's go. let's do it. and it takes guts. running for president -- i never did this stuff before. it takes guts. i didn't know this would happen. i thought we do well and i thought it was like the horse race and i would be in the middle and by the very end i'd inch it out. i didn't know we would be in this position. i didn't know we were going to be in this position. the people of new hampshire were unbelievable. last week we won every single category. we won rich, poor, fat, thin, tall short. we won women. we won men.

we won highly educated. we won smart smart, smart, smart people who don't have the big education because that's what it is. we won every single category and it was such an honor. they were incredible people. and you know what their biggest problem was, every time i went around to new hampshire, i talked to people, what's your biggest problem. the vets we'll take care of our vets. common core, we'll end common core 100%. going to end it. and we're bringing our education locally. you're going to educate your children like it's supposed to be the old fashioned way. no bureaucracy. you'll educate them with love, the love of the parents. you're going to educate them locally. right? second amendment. they talk about the second amendment. we are going to protect our second amendment, believe me. we are going to protect it.

if we had guns in los angeles or frankly where they have the toughest gun laws in the world, if they had guns on the other side with bullets on the opposite direction you wouldn't have 130 people killed and many people right now destroyed. their lives are destroyed. they're lying in the hospital, some will die. if we had that, i'll tell you what when you look at the 14 people killed, the 14 people killed in california, is that right? if guns were pointed in the opposite direction you wouldn't have 14. these are two people that were radicalized. she probably radicalized him. nobody knows. who cares? they were radicalized. radical islamic terrorism. so they were radicalized.

they walk into people that gave them a wedding reception. people that gave them a baby shower. people that they knew they killed 14. many in the hospital. if there were guns on the other side pointed in the other direction, so the bullets are flying both ways you wouldn't have had that kind of carnage. we're going to protect our second amendment. but erryou will say this -- by the way, big story. i said it the last -- at my last speech i said, apple computer, apple boycott apple. we want the secrets. they don't want to open up the phones. give me a break! why wouldn't they want to do it? why wouldn't they want to do it. they don't want to open up the phone. it's owned by the government. what are they doing? open up the stpoepbphones.

we have to be smart and look and see what's going on. let apple open up the phone so we find out where these threats are coming from. and i said, boycott apple until they do it. boycott them. who cares? we have to be smart. we have to be vigilant. you know there are so many enemies out there. we have to be so smart and so vigilant. now, i will say this. the new hampshire experience to me was an amazing experience. but what was their big problem. i go in and their big problem heroin, drugs. you look at new hampshire the most paoutbeautiful people and place. they're great. you're great and they're great. no matter where we go, the people of these people are unable. the potential of the people in our country unbelievable. now, with new hampshire,

remember this, they said to me mr. trump it's haireroinheroin. the drugs are pouring in. you can't even associate it. we're going to build a wall and i owe them i owe them. no matter what they talk about common core and everything but what they really talk about is the tremendous drug explosion. it just seems so strange because you look at it and it's so beautiful with the trees and the beautiful roadways and everything and every meeting i went to they talked about hair heroin, heroin and it's pouring in from the southern border. i said you know what i'm going to close up that border. i'm going to close up that border and we'll have a wall that's going to be a real wall, a great wall and a beautiful wall because some day they'll

probably name it after trump. i have to make sure it's beautiful, right? and i owe it to them. and then we're going to -- so many people are addicted. they're addicted to heroin and drugs. we'll work on that so they can get ideally unaddicted. we have to get them off it. but we got to seal it up and top it. i made the promise to them and the promise to the country and the promise to the country. someplaces don't have it as bad as that. but it's a promise to the country. so, we're going to close up that wall. we're going to close up that border. we're going to let our border patrol people, they're phenomenal, people, i was in lore raid dough, texas. they called me. i didn't call them. he said mr. trump, please come. please come. we want to do our job.

these are incredible people. they're told to stand back. they have the guns and the weapons and the whole thing and they're told to stand back. people walk in. people drive through the border. loaded up with drugs, we get the drugs and they get the cash and they drive back. we're going to run our country properly. we're going to run our country properly. obamacare is a disaster. obamacare is going to be repealed and replaced. a big part of the problem we have, the people i'm running against and others, politicians

in other words, they get funds so much money. jeb bush gets $150 million? gone. it's wasted. you can take it and there's a window here someplace, low it out that window right there and it's going to do the same amount of good as what that money did. other than these guys that work for him took commissions and made a fortune. this campaign stuff is unbelievable. they took money and spent it so fast because the guys that are spending that money are getting 10%, 15% and maybe even 20%. so they're spending -- i'm saying why are they doing so many commercials on me, because they get paid commissions. jeb bush -- he probably doesn't even know this happens, okay? guy doesn't have a clue. this guy doesn't have a clue. but they spend the money so fast because the guys that are in charge the people that buy the ads and the managers, all these

guys, they're making a fortune. they had one case in the los angeles times where a certain candidate raised $6 million. very impressive, right? after the commissions and after all the money went by, out of the $6 million how much was left? $140,000. $140,000. $6 million they raise and $140,000 was left. this is the crooked business, folks. so here's the story. i'm self funding my campaign. self funded. i'm putting my own money in. and i guess by the end of this month i'll have like $25 million in this thing. i'll tell you what, i spent in new hampshire, $3 million. jeb bush spent $47 million.

i ended up in first place with a landslide and jeb bush was towards the bottom of the pact. isn't this the way we're supposed to be running our country, right? right? right? you know out of the top 30 in the world meaning 30 countries we're number one in cost per pupil by far. so high number two doesn't exist. you have norway, denmark, sweden, china. these are the best countries in terms of education, these are ranked the top 4 or 5. great countries, great education. they spent a fraction of what we do. we're number 30 out of 30. so we're number 30 and yet we're number one in money spent by far. i'm telling you, the difference between 1 and 2 is number two is so far away you can't even see

it. we got to change. we got to do like my campaign of the i spent the least and i have the best results. we got to do that. we got to do it. there are so many things we could do. here's another thing. recently a doctor comes up to me, good guy. smart guy. although he's going to leave the profession, he said. he has more nurses -- think of it. in terms of nurses more nurses than he ever had because he got bigger. but now he's got more accountants than he has nurses. he said, this never happened before. it's so complicated. you know it's going to die on its on volition unless the republicans bail him out. they're constantly bailing obama out. it's going to die.

but this guy comes up. good guy. highly respected. he said, the drug industry, pharmaceutical pharmaceutical we're the largest purchaser of drugs by far. we don't bid. i said what? we don't bid the cost of drugs of the we don't bid it out. if we bid it out we would save approximately $300 billion. 300 billion! so my friend said why is that? at first it took me about 20 seconds to say really? but then as soon as i did it i realized why. the politicians i'm running against and others are getting tremendous campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical industries, the drug industry. and they don't want to do anything. if whatever that company pays,

the united states pays the lowest price of any company buying during that period or two year period. you pay the lowest price. and i say, lowest price less 10%. i'm being nice when i say 10%. we would save $300 billion. we don't it because these guys are getting money. woody johnson is the head of johnson and johnson and bush's fundraisers. he's the campaign chairman. think of it. ted cruz who lies more than any human being i have ever seen any. i have never seen any human being lie. look what he did to ben carson. look what he did with his crazy voter violation. he lies more than human being. ted cruz, look at who is giving him the money, oil industry and

wall street. he doesn't put down the loans or banks because he's telling all the people he's robin hood and he'll protect them from wall street. he's going to protect them. he doesn't say he has a million dollar loan with goldman sachs. he doesn't say that the interest rate on that loan is practically nothing. you would like to have it, believe me. you would like to have it. these people -- it's all of them. it's not just ted cruz but all of them. and the reason our country is messed up, one of the big reasons is the fact that they're all taking care of by every industry. whether it's the automobile industry. you want to bring ford back from mexico, they'll tell you why you can't because they get campaign contributions they can't bring ford back. so i'm self funding.

if i want to bring someone back i bring them back. no one will call me and say, you can't do it. let me give you an example. so the other day i'm watching television and i see somebody with a cell phones with your watch. i see carrier. i buy air-conditioners from carrier and many others. i won't buy from them again. they're firing everybody. they're firing these people, why? because they're moving to mexico. oh great; great. how does that help us? how does it help us? they're moving to mexico. they're going to make air-conditioners in mexico and they're going to sell them on the border and sell them. boom. they're going to sell them to the united states. we get nothing. we lose our jobs and close our factories and mexico gets all the work. we get nothing. now, you probably heard some of these really not smart people say, donald trump is not a true

conservative. he is not a conservative. i'm very conservative. i'm the most conservative person on the world on the border and with respect to getting rid of common core and the most con serve active person in the world with getting rid of[with getting rid of]with getting rid of ]with getting rid of ]with getting rid of ]obamacare. i'm the most conservative having to do with our military and rebuilding our military and taking care of our vets. but they say, donald trump -- i watch these guys. i get a kick out of it. many of these guys in private industry they wouldn't be able to get a job ask they're running the country. but they're idiots. but think of it. so they're saying, he's an

conservative. let me tell you something, i believe in free trade. but it's got to be smart trade. it's got to be trade with -- with china we're going to lose $500 billion. with japan we're going to lose a tremendous amount of money. they send their cars here like it's candy. millions of cars we get. we send them nothing. we send them sometimes cattle. and they don't accept it because their farmers don't want anything from us. so they send it back. unless i'm president, they're going to devalue currency and nobody knows currency manipulation better than china nobody. and all of a seupbd you'resudden you're going to say, they're going to start doing the layoffs and here we go again of the we got to get smart on trade. when i came down the escalator at trump tower, it started with trade and it started with the border. and then they had that horrible incident in france, in paris and all of a sudden the border became more important and cnn did polls and it said, they love us -- they love trump for the military because he's the toughest on the border. sheriff joe endorsed me. when he does that you're the toughest on the border.

every candidate goes through liberty university. he endorsed trump. sara palin. everybody wants her endorsement. a great woman and a great -- i'll tell you what, that is a great person who endorsed donald trump. we'll have the borders and we're going have to our trade when we started i talked about borders. i talked about trade. i'm really good at the trade. i'm really good at the borders. when paris happened, everybody started saying, we want trump. the polls came in. 60% and 70% and 72%. this is 72% with 17 people running. now we're down to six and we got rid of all these people and it's so great.

but we had 60% and 70%. in terms of the military, in terms of the border, in terms of all of these things, the economy i expect. but everything was trump, trump, trump except personality. i didn't do as well. it's true. it's true. personality was a little lower than the economy. but if you had your choice of having somebody with a wonderful personality but bad on jobs and bad on the economy and bad on security and bad on the border and bad on the wall, i'll take the guy with the wall and the economy, okay. believe me. and i'm also a nicer guy than many of these people running. that i can tell you. they actually came up -- oh who

is going to pay for the wall? what are these guys running against me. donald you can't build a wall. i said really? why can't we? he said i don't know. can do you that? you know 15 years ago they wanted to build a wall and they couldn't do it because the environmental impact statement they couldn't get it approved because this were rodents and snakes and rats and all sorts of stuff in the way and couldn't get it. they had frogs and snails true. go look. they couldn't get an environmental impact statement approved. i'm so good at environmental impact statements. now, you have south china and you have china building a massive fortress with massive, massive run rays for the biggest mail terri planes in the world and they have those escal sraeutka

sraeuted and they're ripping the hell out of the ocean and building an island in the south of china and that he going to be a military fortress and they're not supposed to be doing that but they have no respect for our president and country so they're doing it. i said to a friend of mine from china because do i a lot of business with china. they're fine to do business with china. if you know what you're doing, you can make a lot of money. they have my apartments. biggest bank in the world. 400 million customers. that's more than the people we have in this country. biggest bank in the world. i said to my friend jokingly, i said when you started eska vagus and building that tremendous island did you get environmental impact statement. he said no. they came up with the idea on friday at 4 o'clock and they

started excavation on saturday morning. true, he said that. he said they came up with it and they started excavation -- we're dealing in a different world folks. i love the last debate. some people said he was too tough. that's better than some of the others who are too weak. drudge who is amazing, i won every single poll for the debate. right? but some people said i was too tough. i had seven people coming from every side. am i supposed to be nice? they say hillary clinton said i don't like donald trump's tone. i don't like his tone. they're chopping off heads in the middle east of our people. they're chopping off heads of christians. they're chopping off heads of everybody. they're drowning people 30 at a

time in cages and she goes, i don't like his tone. so they asked ted cruz who is standing right here -- i was always in the sent are by the way. i've been in the center every single debate. nice, right? not easy. somebody said that's amazing. every single debate, i heard ted's a good debater. i said here's a debater but he can't talk. bad talker. good debater and bad talker. they asked him about water boarding. ah, i don't want to talk about. he didn't want to talk about water boarding. because too controversial. i'm saying, they're chopping off heads and he doesn't want to talk about. they looked at me and i didn't poll it. i don't need a poster. you know what, these guys do my polling for me. the network and every day they come out with a new poll.

what do you think of donald trump's hair. what do you think of his this. what do you think of his that. i learned more about myself. what do i have spend money, they spend millions on polling. two minutes after it comes out i get things this thick, things i never knew about myself and then they say, how much do you pay your poster. get them for free. they do it for free. they say phoufp do you pay your poster mr. trump. i say, nothing. i don't have a poster. the networks are my posters. i learned a lot. they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a month. so ted cruz couldn't poll it. he didn't know how to answer the question. he was mumbling and bumbling. he go, well, i like to -- you got to see t you got to see it. then they say, mr. trump -- i'm

thinking to myself. they chop off heads. not since medieval times, james foley -- not since medieval times do they chop off heads. who the hell ever heard of this. we're in now the worst period of maybe ever, medieval times, boom, i loved history when i was in high school. i'd read about medieval times. boom, boom, chop off heads. when was the last time you heard about chopping off heads. now they chop off heads. now they look at me. mr. trump, how do you feel about water boarding. they think i'm going to say it's a terrible thing it's so terrible. in fact, it's supposed to be -- the big question is, is it torture or not. it's like your minimal, minimal minimal torture. they said, mr. trump, i'd like you to answer the question. how do you feel about water board something i said i feel great about it.

i feel good. i said i feel great. and then i said, something that got me in a minor bit of trouble. i said, but i think we should go much much, much, much further than water boarding. i said we have an enemy in the middle east isis and others that are chopping off people's heads and drowning people in steel cages. can you imagine these people when they sit around at night eating, whatever they're eating and talking and they're talking about the united states that they're actually worried about water boarding as being a little bit cruel and these people chop off heads. they must think we're the dumbest and weakest and stupidiest people on earth on

earth on earth on earth! you know, i read a story it's a terrible story but i'll tell you. she tell you or should i not? earlier in the century, last century, general pershing, they had a terrorism problem and there was a whole thing with animals and pigs and they don't like that. they were having a tremendous problem with terrorism. this is something you can read in the history books. and general pershing who was a rough guy and he sits on his horse and very astute and the era was early 1900's. they were having terrorism and he caught fiftier50 terrorists and

he dipped 50 bullets in pig's blood. and he had his men load his rifles and he lined up the 50 people and they shot 49 of those people and the 50th person he said, you go back to your people you and tell them what happened. and for 25 years there wasn't a problem. okay? 25 years. so we better start getting tough and we better start getting vigilant and using our heads or we won't have a country folks.

[applause] south carolina ahead of the primary and also speaking phil robertson of "duck dynasty." this is about an hour and a half. you know, i've been in a lot of political ba >> i was elected in 2010. i came in with that big tea party crowd. came in to change washington. 2010, well, there were members of our party that didn't like the changes that we wanted to impose.

to return to the constitutional republic of limited government, free markets and individual liberties. when i was in those battles, sometimes we are in the majority but oftentimes i was in a small minority. a small group of freedom loving congressmen who were fighting against the executive amnesty by the lawless president who were fighting to deplanned parenthood. as we fought to replace obamacare so we could have patients centered and tax pay centered healthcare. a lot of those fights i've been in in in washington. when we're in the foxhole and we're fighting president obama and his policies and fighting

nancy pelosi and harry reid, sometimes we were fighting members of our own party and leadership to do what's right for you. when you're in that foxhole, you look around and see who is in there with you. i can tell you there was one person on the senate side that was in every single fight with us and that was ted cruz. i don't getive my endorsement easy. i endorsed mark from north carolina. i endorsed mark meadows for congress. and i've endorsed ted cruz for president of the united states. so when i was courted by all the candidates in this race, i started checking the boxes.

some of the candidates checked a lot of the boxes. they believe in jesus christ as their savior, check. they believe in life and the sanctity of life from the minute of conception forward, check. they believe in the constitution and separation of powers, check. but ted cruz checks everyone of my boxes and then some with a sharpy in bold because he stood up for life and said we should defund planned parent and shut the government down using the article one powers that we have and the powers of the purse to defund this horrendous of takeover of healthcare in this nation. when we are fighting a bill known as the comprehensive euf eupl gregs reform bill and trying to kill it in the house,

there was one senator who came over and met with us at breakfast, at lunch and after hours in our offices as we poured through the bill and strategized on a way to kill the bill in the house, which we did by the way. that senator was ted cruz. he's been in those battles with us. and that's why i'm so happy to give him my endorsement and support him all the way to tomorrow night when we stand on the victory stage and name the presidential preference for south carolina. but before that next president comes to this stage, let me introduce another great american. who has heard of the duck commander? >> who has heard of phil robertson? who would like to see the next president of the united states appoint phil robertson to

something? phil robertson going to the u.n. and telling them how we feel! in the late 80s when i was cutting my teeth as a duck hunter i said i got his vhs tapes and i watched the duck commander as they shot ducks. and i started learning about this man who played quarterback with a guy named terry bradshaw. you know who that guy is? phil says, terry went after the bucks bucks in the nfl and phil robertson went after the ducks and he said i think we're both pretty happy. this guy is unabashed about his faith. he's a real leader we can look up to and he's unabashed about what he believes about this country and doesn't mind telling people exactly how he feels and what he thinks about jesus

christ and about ted cruz. so y'all welcome with me the duck the duck commander phil robertson. >> preach it! >> preach from the bible! >> preach! >> how about one that stands up. i got to put my sword somewhere. south carolina, i started to wear my suit but it occurred to me i don't own a suit.

you wonder why i don't own a cell phone nor a computer. you say, phil -- >> we can hear you! >> stick this one in that one. that's the idea. south carolina, i'm a jesus man. you know why? because i'm a product of the sixties. you see bernie sanders?

i repented, bernie didn't. he never saw the err of his ways but i did. therefore you say phil, now we've been on a lot of election cycles and i'll have to admit i'm nigh 70 now. you say have you ever heard the gospel preached during an election cycle in your life? me either. here's what you do. you folks in south carolina. you have sinned, right? me too. you are going to die, right? six foot deep, all of us, right? that's fact. now, it presents two problems

for us. what's happened is that we have appointed men or women to determine for us what is right, what is wrong, what is good. men decide what's evil. men decide what your life is worth. you're like -- that's the way adolf hitler was. he said, these people here, i don't think they're worth anything. he tried to conquer the world, south carolina. he was famous for murder south carolina, right? you know why? there was no jesus. right? no jesus there.

they started in on us at pearl harbor. you talk about brutal. they were brutal. they along with adolf hitler were famous for murder. any jesus with them? zero zero. that's two out of two and we're going through a little history here. then the commonists came. we had the cold war for seven years. joseph stalin, he slaughtered millions. the nazis slaughtered millions. the japanese empire slaughtered millions and so did the communists. was there any jesus with the commonists? wasn't there. now it's isis this latest crop. what are they famous for? murder. no jesus there either. now we brought it up to date.

here we are. do you not see a pattern? when you remove god almighty, the father, son, jesus and the holy spirit from out of your life, out of your society and out of your culture and out of your ideology, you get him out of the way then look out because the murder is fixing to start. every time because they determine, men do, you're not worth anything. 60 million unborn children, innocent children, we were all in our mother's womb at one time, right? you say, how did they do it? oh, we had to do something about these guns. we have to do something about these guns. they kill 60 million with a little knife about that long.

commandment number six, do not murder was written, south carolina 2800 years before gunpowder was invented. evidently we had a murder problem. if we could have only done something about those pesky spears bows and arrows and sharp sticks and rocks. think of the lives we would have saved, south carolina. who really is doing the murdering? the instrument or the person? why sure. that's just a little intro. i don't have but ten minutes. imagine what you would get if you had an hour. about morality. about 50.5 million current infections are in men alone while 59.5 million are in women. for a total of 110 million of americans with std's in any given time. you reap what you sew, the man said. don't you get it? that's fact. you want to argue with the center for disease control? go ahead. one out of three of us are carrying a disease that's sexually transmitted. there are now 39 million deceased, 36 million have the disease h.i.v., aids. 39 million are dead.

36 million more have it. god says, don't do that. clean woman clean man. they marry, they keep their sex between the two of them. you won't get a sexually transmitted disease ever. god was right all along. therefore -- see, they didn't give me but ten minutes. what brought us here south carolina? you know what brought us here? look back 240 years. bibles and guns right? you say, we had to have faith in god almighty that he would bless us and he would found the

greatest nation on earth, but weighwe had to have the power to send the brits and king george where he came from. hey, south carolina, we won. the nazis came. what did it take to drive adolf hitler all the way back to germany to due him in. it took bibles and guns. we won. what sent them back to where they came from. it took a lot of explosions and a lot of fire power. what sent them back. the bibles and guns. the communists they got into an arm race. don't get into it with their congress they bankrupt you. you what it will take isis back to where they came from?

anywhere you slice it. if you haven't i would be remiss -- i said and you agreed, that you all have sinned in many ways, so have i. you say, phil, have you ever been high been drunk and been laid? that be yeah. but if i started interviewing each one of you and you told me what you've been up to, what do you think, south carolina? six foot hole sinners. so god became flesh. your calendar documents it. it is now 2016 a.d. ammodom minute my ammodom minute my year of

about 40. so i walked him out there on the river and i baptized him and he went back to canada rejoicing. that and you teaching your children and you rebuking your children, you correct your children and you train them to be children of god. that and that alone is what will change your nation. i say we all get together -- you say, well, why are you behind cruz? he's a bible man. he's a jesus man. no different than our founding fathers. we're just like them. we're not like aberrations all of a sudden. we're just george washington. cruz and i both. we're like thomas jefferson. we're like john adams, james madison. therefore, i say we ought to put

great state of south carolina. heidi and i are thrilled to be here with you. isn't she going to make an amazing first lady? and let me say to all the school aged kids, when heidi's first lady, french fries are coming back to the cafeteria. call me crazy but i think cardboard belongs on the tray and not on top of it. you know i got to say, south carolina and texas, we got a whole lot in common. two states where southerners, we

have a whole lot of military veterans veterans. we're gun owners. we love god and we are fed up with the corruption in washington. [applause] senator cruz: you know, to understand the connections between our great states, you need to do no more than remember the carolinians who came down to texas and spilled their blood at the alamo. james bonham and brave south carolinians to help texas fight for our freedom. one of those south carolinaians

senators from texas, phil gramm back in the 80s he was a conservative democrats and he was leading the he haveeffort to support ronald reagan's tax plan. he was telling the other conservatives that story. he said this is a moment to step across that line and those democrats said, but, phil, everyone who stepped across that line died. and phil without missing a beat said, you're right. they did. and everyone who didn't step across that line they died too. and nobody remembers their names. we're standing here with patriots. let me say to the men and women

of south carolina, thank you for sending a principal constitutionalist freedom fighter, knife fighter like jeff duncan to represent you in the united states congress. [applause] senator cruz: there's a reason jeff and i both need food tasters in the members dining room. and just today another south carolinian former governor mark sanford endorsed this campaign. i think my favorite moment with mark was when he was your governor and walked into the state legislature carrying a live squealing pig under one arm. that's a man who knows how to

cut pork. and how about phil robertson? i love that man. talk about a man who loves jesus and isn't afraid to admit it to anyone and everyone to proclaim his name with no apology and with nothing but joy. i will say one of the coolest things i've had the pleasure of doing in this whole presidential campaign was heading down to louisiana going duck hunting with phil robertson and the whole robertson clan. you know we did a whole video of me and the camo and face paint and my daughter saw that and they thought it was the

funniest thing they had every seen. carolina, our 7-year-old said, dad, you're not nearly that cool which is indisputable. but i got to tell you, that man could shoot a shotgun. listen, as a texan, i know a lot of folks who can shoot. and for me, look, i can hit a duck particularly if it's nice and close. maybe you got someone holding his feet so he can't move. you do that i drop it every time. but phil could take out of birds and i couldn't even see the bird. i wouldn't have thought in a million years to shoot a bird that far away. we would pull out a shotgun and boom. and the black lab headed to the horizon and i'm like, phil you lost your dog now and next thing you know the dog would be coming back with a duck in its mouth.

i'm like, how on earth did you do that? but phil is a man who is unafraid. here's the thought experiment for you. imagine phil robertson as ambassador of the united nations. now let me just ask you, how much would you pay to see that? can you just imagine sitting in the u.n. general assembly, the russian ambassador says something and he leans over and says, "well that don't make any sense at all." if you look at the leaders who have come together whether it's phil, whether it's jeff, whether

it's the 350 pastors all across this state who endorsed this campaign and stood together, the unifying theme is a passion and love for this country and a willingness to stand up and speak the truth no matter what the cost. you know this past saturday we had a kind of quiet little debate. but i'll tell you, i think that the debate really helped focus a lot of the issues in the minds of the south carolinaians and two questions have risen to the top. the first was highlighted saturday morning with the passing of justice antonin scalia. he was an american hero.

he was a lion of the law and someone i knew personally for 20 years. in fact tomorrow i'll be up at washington for his funeral and make it back here for election night. justice scalia's passing leaves an enormous vacancy on the court, leave an enormous void for a passionate principal fighting for the constitution. and as bad as this supreme court has been, we are one justice away from a radical five justice liberal majority, the likes of which this country has never seen. before i was in the senate, i

was the solicitor general of texas, chief lawyer for the supreme court and spent five years defending the constitution and bill of rights. we brought together a coalition of states defending the federal ban on partial birth abortion and we won 5-4. 5-4. we are one justice away from the supreme court striking down every restriction the states have put in place over the last 40 years on abortion and mandating unlimited abortion on demand up until the moment of birth, partial birth with taxpayer funding and no parental notification. one justice. you know the single biggest decision of justice scalia's

three decades on the court was heller versus district of columbia. i'm familiar with the case because i represented 31 states in heller defending the second amendment right to keep and bear arms and we won 5-4. 5-4. what was the position of it? it was not that some gun control is sometimes permissible. what it said was that the second amendment protects no individual right to keep and bear arms whatsoever. they said it is only a "collective right of the militia" which is fancy lawyer talk for a completely completely

nonexistent right. we are one justice away from the supreme court over ruling heller and holding that not single one of us here has any individual right to keep and bear arms and we have no second amendment right to challenge it. that's what's at stake in this election. you and me both my friend. you know, phil talked about the ten commandments. in texas we defended the ten commandments monument that stands on the capital grounds and went all the way to the supreme court and we won 5-4! 5-4. we are one justice away from the supreme court ordering the ten commandments torn down in courthouses and city halls and public parks all over this

country. in private practice, i represented over 3 million veterans pro bono for free defending the mojave desert veterans memorial. a lone white latin cross erected over 70 years ago for the men and women who gave their lives in world war i. the aclu sued saying you could not display a cross on public lands. they won in the district court and court of appeals and the court ordered a giant sack to be placed over that veterans memorial with a chain and a padlock at the bottom. i will say this, the court was right in one regard, there is power in the image of the cross. we went to the u.s. supreme court on behalf of 3 million veterans defending the mojave

desert veterans memorial and we won 5-4. 5-4. we are one justice away from the supreme court striking down veterans memorials all over this country and we're not far from the court ordering the chisels to come out and remove the crosses and stars of david from the tombstones of fallen soldiers. >> i'll tell you the biggest case of my tenure as solicitor general was a case called immediate 18 versus texas. two teenage girls were horrible aassaulted and murdered by a gang. one of those gang members was an illegal illegal alien and then the world

court issued an order to the united states to reopen the convictions of 51 murderers across this country. first time in history a foreign court has tried to bind the u.s. justice system. texas stood up and fought the world court. i argued this case twice in front of the u.s. supreme court. on the other side we had the world court and the united nations. we had 90 foreign nations. and we had the president of the united states. i'm sorry to tell you that president was not barack obama. it was george w. bush. now i'll tell you, heidi and i we met back in 2000 working on the george w. bush campaign. we were one of eight marriages

came out of that campaign. so i'll tell you, a lousy joke i've told many, many tiles. whatever anyone says about george w. bush, in our house he'll always be a uniter and not a divider. but in this instance he received some bad advice because he signed a two paragraph order that attempted them to order the state courts to obey the world court. i'll tell you it was an interesting conversation when i sat down with my boss, the attorney general, now the governor of texas and we had a conversation. it was an unusual thing to stand up for texas to oppose the president of the united states before the supreme court of the united states. particularly when that president was a texan, a republican, the

former governor of our state and a friend. you're reading ahead. and yet i'm proud to say twice i stood before the supreme court and argued, number one, that the world court and the united nations has no jurisdiction whatsoever over the u.s. justice system. and number two that no president of the united states republican or democrat, has the constitutional authority to giveaway u.s. sovereignty. and we won 6-3. and in the final iteration of that case it too dropped to 5-4.

so we are now one justice away sof vern teu /* /* sovereignty. this election, the stakes of this election not just one branch of government, but two. and i believe justice scalia's passing focused the minds of the people of south carolina and this country on what those stakes are. because we know if we elect hillary clinton or bernie sanders or some other socialist we will see the supreme court lost for a generation. i'll tell you the unfortunate reality. if we elect the wrong republican we'll also see the supreme court

lost for a generation. democrats bat a thousand. almost every justice is a left wing judicial activity on almost every case. republicans bat worst than 500. many of the worst judicial activities have been republican nominees. earl warren, bill brennan, john paul stevens and david suitor and harry blackman, the author of roe versus wade. everyone of those was a republican republican republican appointee. why did that happen? it's not that republican presidents secretly want to put liberals on the court. that's not actually what is happening. what happens instead, if you look at the justices who honored their oath and remained faithful. scalia clarence thomas and

chief justice william rehnquist. everyone of them had a long proven record of following the constitution and defending conservative principals and it being vilified and standing up in the face of criticism. but what happens is if you nominate a real conservative, a proven conservative, the democrats are going to fight you. they get the joke and fighting for the court. so over and over again we get republicans who don't really care about the court and their team goes and says, hey, we have got a stealth canada -- can dad. he's perfect. and no paper trail whatsoever. if you have lived 50 years your life and never written, said or done anything to prove you're a conservative

conservative you ain't. and every time a republican president goes with stealth nominee turn odd to be a disaster. they look at that debate stage. who do we know? who do we know to an absolute shadow of a doubt will nominate principaled constitutionalists to the u.s. supreme court? and i'll tell you if a presidential candidate doesn't have a record or history of standing and fighting for the constitution, if for example, for 60 years of their life they described themselves as very, very pro choice and supporting partial birth abortion, speaking

hypothetically of course, we know for a fact they're not going to spend the political capital it takes to nominate and confirm a conservative and if we get one more liberal, the second amendment goes to life. the right to life goes away and our religious liberty goes away, one more liberal. amen. and i give you my solemn word. every justice that i appoint to that court will be a principaled constitutionalist and be faithful and protect the bill of rights for your children and your children's children. [applause] senator cruz: and the second major question that the people of south carolina are asking, is who is best prepared to be

commander in chief. who has the experience, the knowledge, the judgment, the temperament temperament? we saw temperament on display saturday night. who has the clarity of understanding the strength of resolve? just this week mr. trump said publicly that he would be neutral between israel and the palestinians. let me tell you this, as president i have no intention of being neutral. america will stand unapologetically with the nation of israel.

when you hear liberals like hillary clinton and barack obama and john kerry saying let's be neutral between israel and the palestinians, they're buying in to the false moral equivalency we see on the news every day. it's not morally equivalent who goes into a mall is not morally equivalent to a soldier risking their lives to keep innocent people safe. just this week here in south carolina i rolled out a major plan to rebuild the military and restore our ability to defend ourselves. we are going to rebuild the army and increase our troops strength

and rebuild the air force and bring back our jets. we're going to rebuild the navy and bring back our shifts. we're going to use the marines and have the strongest military on the face of the planet. [applause] senator cruz: you think defending us is expensive? try not defending ourselves. and how do we do it? we have seen how to do it, 1981. another president came into office with another weak democratic president who weakened the military. ronald reagan started with tax reform and lifted the burdens of washington on small businesses. small businesses are the heart of the economy. 2/3 of all new jobs come from small businesses. you want booming economic

growth unchain small businesses. reagan did that and the economy exploded and millions lifted into prosperity. it generated trillions in revenue. he used that to rebuild the military and that in turn bankrupted the soviet union and won the cold war. i intend to do the same thing with radical islamic terrorists. regulatory reform and tax reform. regulatory reform, we are going to repeal every word of obamacare obamacare. [applause] senator cruz: and tax reform we're going to adopt a simple flat tax and abolish the irs.

and we will see millions of new jobs. we'll see wages rising. we'll see young people coming out of school with 2, 3, 4, 5 job opportunities and winning so much we'll get tired of winning. and by the way, it a he -- it's easy to say you want to make america great again. you can even put that on a baseball cap. but the question to ask is do you understand what made america great in the first place. let me tell you what we're not going to do. we're not going to continue to

listen to political correctness in the u.s. military. we are not going to be admitting refuges who could be infiltrated with isis terrorists. we are not going to be granting u.s. citizenship to people here illegally. and i say this as a father tpatsdz of two young girls we are not going to be drafting our daughters on the front lines. i have to admit two debates ago when i was standing on that debate stage and three republicans, marco rubio and others said, i think that's a great idea to be drafting women.

i was standing there saying are you guys nuts? look i frankly was expecting rod sterling to walk out on the stage, you have entered the twilight zone. are we so captive to politicalness that we can't just say, that doesn't make any sense. we're going to speak the truth and we're going to speak the truth with a smile. i tell you, one of the most shameful things over the last seven years has been this president sending our fighting men and women into combat with rules of engagement that tie their arms behind their back and do not let them win and do not let them keep themselves safe. that is wrong and it is immoral

and it will end in january 2017. america has always been reluctant to use military force. we are slow to anger. if and when military force is required, we should use overwhelming force, kill the enemy and then get the heck out. when it comes to radical islamic terrorism, we will no longer have a president terrified to utter those words. instead, every militant on the face of the earth will know if you go and join isis, if you wage jihad against the united states of america, if you attempt to murder innocent americans, you are signing your death warrant.

tomorrow morning that's when the south carolina primary starts. it's been a wild and wooly ride. y'all have been subject to millions in attack ads and mailers and radio and phone calls and all the nonsense. the time for that media noise is over. this is our time. this race will be decided friend to friend neighbor to neighbor, pastor to pastor south carolinian to south carolina

carolinaian. look around to the men and women gathered here. in the next 24 hours if each of you, not only comes out and votes tomorrow, but picks up the phone and calls your friend, your family and your loved ones and your coworkers and everyone you know and say it is now or never, this is my future. this is my children's future. this is my grandchildren's future. the next 24 hours we are fighting to determine if the next generation will have the same constitutional liberties everyone of us has been blessed to enjoy. you look around at the men and women here. if every person here gets ten other people to show up and vote tomorrow -- i didn't say pretend to be ten

they're talking about it all over the world. cover of time magazine. you have to get it. last week, cover of time magazine the greatest story you've ever seen. it's been incredible. 35,000 people in alabama, 20,000 people twice in oklahoma. we just left new hampshire and packed every single venue. we had numbers that nobody else has ever had, ever had. and we'll keep it going. we say, oh who knows what the numbers are. the polls are very nice but who knows? we can't take a chance, right? because we're going to make america great again. but we can't do that. if you don't get out there tomorrow, all right? and the more we can do it and the more we can win by the

the wall. that's what it reminds me of. so we started on june 16th. i came down the escalator. i said to my wife, let's go. let's do it. and it takes guts. running for president -- i never did this stuff before. it takes guts. i didn't know this would happen. i thought we do well and i thought it was like the horse race and i would be in the middle and by the very end i'd inch it out. i didn't know we would be in this position. i didn't know we were going to be in this position. the people of new hampshire were unbelievable. last week we won every single category. we won rich, poor, fat, thin, tall short. we won women. we won men. we won highly educated.

we won smart smart, smart, smart people who don't have the big education because that's what it is. we won every single category and it was such an honor. they were incredible people. and you know what their biggest problem was, every time i went around to new hampshire, i talked to people, what's your biggest problem. the vets we'll take care of our vets. common core, we'll end common core 100%. going to end it. and we're bringing our education locally. you're going to educate your children like it's supposed to be the old fashioned way. no bureaucracy. you'll educate them with love, the love of the parents. you're going to educate them locally. right? second amendment. they talk about the second amendment. we are going to protect our second amendment, believe me. we are going to protect it.

if we had guns in los angeles or frankly where they have the toughest gun laws in the world, if they had guns on the other side with bullets on the opposite direction you wouldn't have 130 people killed and many people right now destroyed. their lives are destroyed. they're lying in the hospital, some will die. if we had that, i'll tell you what when you look at the 14 people killed, the 14 people killed in california, is that right? if guns were pointed in the opposite direction you wouldn't have 14. these are two people that were radicalized. she probably radicalized him. nobody knows. who cares? they were radicalized. radical islamic terrorism. so they were radicalized. they walk into people that gave them a wedding reception.

people that gave them a baby shower. people that they knew they killed 14. many in the hospital. if there were guns on the other side pointed in the other direction, so the bullets are flying both ways you wouldn't have had that kind of carnage. we're going to protect our second amendment. but erryou will say this -- by the way, big story. i said it the last -- at my last speech i said, apple computer, apple boycott apple. we want the secrets. they don't want to open up the phones. give me a break! why wouldn't they want to do it? why wouldn't they want to do it. they don't want to open up the phone. it's owned by the government. what are they doing? open up the stpoepbphones.

we have to be smart and look and see what's going on. let apple open up the phone so we find out where these threats are coming from. and i said, boycott apple until they do it. boycott them. who cares? we have to be smart. we have to be vigilant. you know there are so many enemies out there. we have to be so smart and so vigilant. now, i will say this. the new hampshire experience to me was an amazing experience. but what was their big problem. i go in and their big problem heroin, drugs. you look at new hampshire the most paoutbeautiful people and place. they're great. you're great and they're great. no matter where we go, the people of these people are unable. the potential of the people in our country unbelievable. now, with new hampshire, remember this, they said to me

mr. trump it's haireroinheroin. the drugs are pouring in. you can't even associate it. we're going to build a wall and i owe them i owe them. no matter what they talk about common core and everything but what they really talk about is the tremendous drug explosion. it just seems so strange because you look at it and it's so beautiful with the trees and the beautiful roadways and everything and every meeting i went to they talked about hair heroin, heroin and it's pouring in from the southern border. i said you know what i'm going to close up that border. i'm going to close up that border and we'll have a wall that's going to be a real wall, a great wall and a beautiful wall because some day they'll probably name it after trump. i have to make sure it's

beautiful, right? and i owe it to them. and then we're going to -- so many people are addicted. they're addicted to heroin and drugs. we'll work on that so they can get ideally unaddicted. we have to get them off it. but we got to seal it up and top it. i made the promise to them and the promise to the country and the promise to the country. someplaces don't have it as bad as that. but it's a promise to the country. so, we're going to close up that wall. we're going to close up that border. we're going to let our border patrol people, they're phenomenal, people, i was in lore raid dough, texas. they called me. i didn't call them. he said mr. trump, please come. please come. we want to do our job. these are incredible people.

they're told to stand back. they have the guns and the weapons and the whole thing and they're told to stand back. people walk in. people drive through the border. loaded up with drugs, we get the drugs and they get the cash and they drive back. we're going to run our country properly. we're going to run our country properly. obamacare is a disaster. obamacare is going to be repealed and replaced. a big part of the problem we have, the people i'm running against and others, politicians in other words, they get funds

so much money. jeb bush gets $150 million? gone. it's wasted. you can take it and there's a window here someplace, low it out that window right there and it's going to do the same amount of good as what that money did. other than these guys that work for him took commissions and made a fortune. this campaign stuff is unbelievable. they took money and spent it so fast because the guys that are spending that money are getting 10%, 15% and maybe even 20%. so they're spending -- i'm saying why are they doing so many commercials on me, because they get paid commissions. jeb bush -- he probably doesn't even know this happens, okay? guy doesn't have a clue. this guy doesn't have a clue. but they spend the money so fast because the guys that are in charge the people that buy the ads and the managers, all these guys, they're making a fortune.

they had one case in the los angeles times where a certain candidate raised $6 million. very impressive, right? after the commissions and after all the money went by, out of the $6 million how much was left? $140,000. $140,000. $6 million they raise and $140,000 was left. this is the crooked business, folks. so here's the story. i'm self funding my campaign. self funded. i'm putting my own money in. and i guess by the end of this month i'll have like $25 million in this thing. i'll tell you what, i spent in new hampshire, $3 million. jeb bush spent $47 million. i ended up in first place with a

landslide and jeb bush was towards the bottom of the pact. isn't this the way we're supposed to be running our country, right? right? right? you know out of the top 30 in the world meaning 30 countries we're number one in cost per pupil by far. so high number two doesn't exist. you have norway, denmark, sweden, china. these are the best countries in terms of education, these are ranked the top 4 or 5. great countries, great education. they spent a fraction of what we do. we're number 30 out of 30. so we're number 30 and yet we're number one in money spent by far. i'm telling you, the difference between 1 and 2 is number two is so far away you can't even see it.

we got to change. we got to do like my campaign of the i spent the least and i have the best results. we got to do that. we got to do it. there are so many things we could do. here's another thing. recently a doctor comes up to me, good guy. smart guy. although he's going to leave the profession, he said. he has more nurses -- think of it. in terms of nurses more nurses than he ever had because he got bigger. but now he's got more accountants than he has nurses. he said, this never happened before. it's so complicated. you know it's going to die on its on volition unless the republicans bail him out. they're constantly bailing obama out. it's going to die. but this guy comes up.

good guy. highly respected. he said, the drug industry, pharmaceutical pharmaceutical we're the largest purchaser of drugs by far. we don't bid. i said what? we don't bid the cost of drugs of the we don't bid it out. if we bid it out we would save approximately $300 billion. 300 billion! so my friend said why is that? at first it took me about 20 seconds to say really? but then as soon as i did it i realized why. the politicians i'm running against and others are getting tremendous campaign contributions from the pharmaceutical industries, the drug industry. and they don't want to do anything. if whatever that company pays, the united states pays the lowest price of any company

buying during that period or two year period. you pay the lowest price. and i say, lowest price less 10%. i'm being nice when i say 10%. we would save $300 billion. we don't it because these guys are getting money. woody johnson is the head of johnson and johnson and bush's fundraisers. he's the campaign chairman. think of it. ted cruz who lies more than any human being i have ever seen any. i have never seen any human being lie. look what he did to ben carson. look what he did with his crazy voter violation. he lies more than human being. ted cruz, look at who is giving him the money, oil industry and wall street.

he doesn't put down the loans or banks because he's telling all the people he's robin hood and he'll protect them from wall street. he's going to protect them. he doesn't say he has a million dollar loan with goldman sachs. he doesn't say that the interest rate on that loan is practically nothing. you would like to have it, believe me. you would like to have it. these people -- it's all of them. it's not just ted cruz but all of them. and the reason our country is messed up, one of the big reasons is the fact that they're all taking care of by every industry. whether it's the automobile industry. you want to bring ford back from mexico, they'll tell you why you can't because they get campaign contributions they can't bring ford back. so i'm self funding. if i want to bring someone back

i bring them back. no one will call me and say, you can't do it. let me give you an example. so the other day i'm watching television and i see somebody with a cell phones with your watch. i see carrier. i buy air-conditioners from carrier and many others. i won't buy from them again. they're firing everybody. they're firing these people, why? because they're moving to mexico. oh great; great. how does that help us? how does it help us? they're moving to mexico. they're going to make air-conditioners in mexico and they're going to sell them on the border and sell them. boom. they're going to sell them to the united states. we get nothing. we lose our jobs and close our factories and mexico gets all the work. we get nothing. now, you probably heard some of these really not smart people say, donald trump is not a true

going to devalue currency and nobody knows currency manipulation better than china nobody. and all of a seupbd you'resudden you're going to say, they're going to start doing the layoffs and here we go again of the we got to get smart on trade. when i came down the escalator at trump tower, it started with trade and it started with the border. and then they had that horrible incident in france, in paris and all of a sudden the border became more important and cnn did polls and it said, they love us -- they love trump for the military because he's the toughest on the border. sheriff joe endorsed me. when he does that you're the toughest on the border.

every candidate goes through liberty university. he endorsed trump. sara palin. everybody wants her endorsement. a great woman and a great -- i'll tell you what, that is a great person who endorsed donald trump. we'll have the borders and we're going have to our trade when we started i talked about borders. i talked about trade. i'm really good at the trade. i'm really good at the borders. when paris happened, everybody started saying, we want trump. the polls came in. 60% and 70% and 72%. this is 72% with 17 people running. now we're down to six and we got rid of all these people and it's so great. but we had 60% and 70%.

in terms of the military, in terms of the border, in terms of all of these things, the economy i expect. but everything was trump, trump, trump except personality. i didn't do as well. it's true. it's true. personality was a little lower than the economy. but if you had your choice of having somebody with a wonderful personality but bad on jobs and bad on the economy and bad on security and bad on the border and bad on the wall, i'll take the guy with the wall and the economy, okay. believe me. and i'm also a nicer guy than many of these people running. that i can tell you. they actually came up -- oh who is going to pay for the wall?

what are these guys running against me. donald you can't build a wall. i said really? why can't we? he said i don't know. can do you that? you know 15 years ago they wanted to build a wall and they couldn't do it because the environmental impact statement they couldn't get it approved because this were rodents and snakes and rats and all sorts of stuff in the way and couldn't get it. they had frogs and snails true. go look. they couldn't get an environmental impact statement approved. i'm so good at environmental impact statements. now, you have south china and you have china building a massive fortress with massive, massive run rays for the biggest mail terri planes in the world and they have those escal sraeutka sraeuted and they're ripping the hell out of the ocean and

building an island in the south of china and that he going to be a military fortress and they're not supposed to be doing that but they have no respect for our president and country so they're doing it. i said to a friend of mine from china because do i a lot of business with china. they're fine to do business with china. if you know what you're doing, you can make a lot of money. they have my apartments. biggest bank in the world. 400 million customers. that's more than the people we have in this country. biggest bank in the world. i said to my friend jokingly, i said when you started eska vagus and building that tremendous island did you get environmental impact statement. he said no. they came up with the idea on friday at 4 o'clock and they started excavation on saturday

morning. true, he said that. he said they came up with it and they started excavation -- we're dealing in a different world folks. i love the last debate. some people said he was too tough. that's better than some of the others who are too weak. drudge who is amazing, i won every single poll for the debate. right? but some people said i was too tough. i had coming from every side. am i supposed to be nice? they say hillary clinton said i don't like donald trump's tone. i don't like his tone. they're chopping off heads in the middle east of our people. they're chopping off heads of christians. they're chopping off heads of everybody. they're drowning people 30 at a time in cages and she goes, i

don't like his tone. so they asked ted cruz who is standing right here -- i was always in the sent are by the way. i've been in the center every single debate. nice, right? not easy. somebody said that's amazing. every single debate, i heard ted's a good debater. i said here's a debater but he can't talk. bad talker. good debater and bad talker. they asked him about water boarding. ah, i don't want to talk about. he didn't want to talk about water boarding. because too controversial. i'm saying, they're chopping off heads and he doesn't want to talk about. they looked at me and i didn't poll it. i don't need a poster. you know what, these guys do my polling for me. the network and every day they come out with a new poll. what do you think of donald trump's hair.

what do you think of his this. what do you think of his that. i learned more about myself. what do i have spend money, they spend millions on polling. two minutes after it comes out i get things this thick, things i never knew about myself and then they say, how much do you pay your poster. get them for free. they do it for free. they say phoufp do you pay your poster mr. trump. i say, nothing. i don't have a poster. the networks are my posters. i learned a lot. they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars a month. so ted cruz couldn't poll it. he didn't know how to answer the question. he was mumbling and bumbling. he go, well, i like to -- you got to see t you got to see it. then they say, mr. trump -- i'm thinking to myself.

they chop off heads. not since medieval times, james foley -- not since medieval times do they chop off heads. who the hell ever heard of this. we're in now the worst period of maybe ever, medieval times, boom, i loved history when i was in high school. i'd read about medieval times. boom, boom, chop off heads. when was the last time you heard about chopping off heads. now they chop off heads. now they look at me. mr. trump, how do you feel about water boarding. they think i'm going to say it's a terrible thing it's so terrible. in fact, it's supposed to be -- the big question is, is it torture or not. it's like your minimal, minimal minimal torture. they said, mr. trump, i'd like you to answer the question. how do you feel about water board something i said i feel great about it. i feel good.

i said i feel great. and then i said, something that got me in a minor bit of trouble. i said, but i think we should go much much, much, much further than water boarding. i said we have an enemy in the middle east isis and others that are chopping off people's heads and drowning people in steel cages. can you imagine these people when they sit around at night eating, whatever they're eating and talking and they're talking about the united states that they're actually worried about water boarding as being a little bit cruel and these people chop off heads. they must think we're the dumbest and weakest and stupidiest people on earth on earth on earth on earth!

you know, i read a story it's a terrible story but i'll tell you. she tell you or should i not? earlier in the century, last century, general pershing, they had a terrorism problem and there was a whole thing with animals and pigs and they don't like that. they were having a tremendous problem with terrorism. this is something you can read in the history books. and general pershing who was a rough guy and he sits on his horse and very astute and the era was early 1900's. they were having terrorism and he caught fiftier50 terrorists and he dipped 50 bullets in pig's

blood. and he had his men load his rifles and he lined up the 50 people and they shot 49 of those people and the 50th person he said, you go back to your people you and tell them what happened. and for 25 years there wasn't a problem. okay? 25 years. so we better start getting tough and we better start getting vigilant and using our heads or we won't have a country folks.

i love this country. we want to keep this country. we i've been saying something because i've been meeting so many people, millions and millions of people. one are the reporters said, television reporter said to me, i've been doing this, mr. trump -- he didn't say this on the record. he said i've been doing this for 25 years. in 25 years, i have never, ever seen anything like what's happening with you and your people. amazing. we're all together. when you go to dallas or oklahoma. when you go to new hampshire. when you go to iowa, and you go to new york anyplace, the people are unbelievable. when i say make america great again, i'm adding we can make

america great again ask greater than ever before. we have such incredible potential. we have such incredible potential. i want to see the day when apple makes its product on our land and not over in china. because i'm bringing our jobs back from china, folks. we're going to bring our jobs back from mexico. we're going to have ford built here and not in mexico. we'll bring your jobs back. vietnam is a new one of the we'll bring our jobs back to this country. we'll be so proud. i'll tell you what i want. we'll be so proud and we'll have a military that is so advanced and so wonderful and we'll buy the right product that the generals want and not the

politicians. you're going to remember this evening. you're going to say in two years or three years or four years or one year but you're going to say, that i was there for an evening where donald trump representing all of us made a speech and i voted for donald trump the next day and our country started winning again. we don't win anymore. our country started winning again. we started winning with our military. we can't beat isis, folks. we won with our military. we'll knock the hell out of them. we won with our veterans. we'll take care of them. we won with education&we won with the second amendment. we won with the border and, yeah, we'll have a really strong

border and we'll have people come into our border and people. that big, beautiful door right through the middle of the wall. but they'll come in legally. they'll come in legally. and you'll remember this evening and remember tomorrow because you of to go out and vote. no matter how you feel, i don't care it doesn't matter if you think you won't make it through the day. you got to go out and vote tomorrow. i don't want your money. i don't want your money, we want your vote. got to do it. (crowd chants "trump") donald trump: you'll ato yourselves that was one of the great evenings and days of your

lives because you'll be very proud of your country and president and you'll be so proud of your president. but you'ring about to be so proud of your country. because we're going to start winning, winning, winning again. we're going to become the smart country, not the country that makes an iran deal where we give them $150 billion. we're going to become a truly, truly, great country again. i love you folks. we'll start winning. we're going to win, win, win and we're going to make america great again. thank you everybody. i love you. thank you. i love you. thank you very much. we love you, folks.

polls. we were way behind in iowa, way behind in new hampshire, way behind in nevada. guess what? things have changed. [cheers] this campaign has taken on the big-money interests of the economic establishment. we have taken on the political establishment. we have taken on the media establishment. and we are gaining ground every day. [cheers] and we are gaining momentum. we are gaining momentum because the people are towered -- tired of establishment politics. they are tired of establishment

economics. and they want to move this country in a direction where the government of the united states represents all of us, not just wealthy campaign contributors. [cheers] brothers and sisters, this campaign is gaining momentum because we are listening to the pain of the people. we are listening to the workers in nevada, and vermont, and all over this country who are telling us they can't make it on nine dollars an hour. [cheers] we are listening to the senior citizens to tell us no, they cannot make it on $11,000 a year social security. [cheers] we are listening to the young

people who are saying we do not want to be paying off our student debt for the next 20 years. [cheers] we are listening to our brothers and sisters in the latino community who demand -- [cheers] who are demanding to get out of the shadows and want a path towards citizenship. [cheers] we are listening to our african-american brothers and sisters. [cheers] who are telling us they are tired of a criminal justice system which is broken. [cheers]

we are listening to the women who say no, we are tired -- [cheers] we are tired of working for $.79 on the dollar compared to men. [cheers] my friends, the history of america, the history of change in america is that change never comes from the top on down. [cheers] it always comes from the bottom on up. [cheers] 125 years ago workers said we

are not animals. we are not beasts of burden. we want dignity and we will fight to get unions. they organized for collective bargaining. [cheers] 150 years ago african-americans and their white allies said racism and segregation is not what america is about. [cheers] well over 100 years ago women and their male allies said women will not be second-class citizens in this country. [cheers] for many years the gay community and their straight allies said

-- [cheers] they said in america people have a right to love whom they want regardless of gender. [cheers] that is how change comes about. change comes about when millions of people look around and say the status quo is not working. we need. change -- we need change. [cheers] and that is the moment where we are at right now. we are at a moment when in the wealthiest country in the history of the world most people don't know that because almost all the new income is going to

the top 1%. [boos] we are living in a nation in which the top 1% now own almost as much wealth as the bottom 90%. [boos] where the top 20 people in this country own more wealth than the bottom 150 million people. [boos] in this country today millions of our people are working longer hours for lower wages. our people are working two or three jobs. mom is working, dad is working, the kids are working. marriages are being stretched. kids do not get the attention they need from their parents.

and after all of that, 58% of all new income is going to the top 1%. [boos] are you guys ready for a radical idea? [cheers] we are going to create an economy that works for all of us, not just the 1%. [cheers] we are going to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, $15 an hour. [cheers] and we are going to make certain that women get a fair shake in the economy. pay equity for women workers.

[cheers] c-span.org and we are going to create millions of jobs our people need. we are going to be hiring teachers, not firing teachers. [cheers] we are going to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure, our water system, wastewater plants, roads and bridges. [cheers] if we can rebuild the infrastructure of villages in iraq and afghanistan, we can rebuild flint, michigan. [cheers] i will tell you what else we are going to do.

we are going to demand that the wealthiest people in this country, the people who have never had it so good, they are going to start paying their fair share of taxes. [cheers] when we talk about public education in the year 2016, it is not good enough to be talking about first-grade through 12th grades. today we have got to be talking about public education meaning free tuition at public colleges and universities. [cheers] and we have got to deal with the outrage that millions of our people, some young, some not so young, are paying a significant part of their income in student debt repayment. [cheers]

that is why i believe we have got to substantially lower student debt in this country by allowing people who have the debt to find the lowest possible interest rate they can and refinance their loans. [cheers] my opponents say the establishment says that the expensive proposition. it is. i will tell you how we will pay for it. we will pay for it by putting a tax on wall street speculation. [cheers] 1 wall st -- when wall street's illegal behavior helps drive this economy into the worst recession since the 1930's, congress bailed out wall street. now it is wall street's

turned to help the middle class. [cheers] when we talk about what is going on in our country today let us not forget for one second there are 11 million people who are undocumented who were living in the shadows, who are living in fear. not only will we fight the racism and xenophobia and bigotry of donald trump -- [cheers] [chanting] bernie, bernie bernie! sen. sanders: together we are going to demand that congress

pass comprehensive immigration reform and a path towards citizenship. [cheers] and if congress does not do its job, i will do my job and easy executive power of the presidency. [cheers] my republican colleagues are running all over nevada, all over america talking about family values. i want everybody here to know what they mean by family values. what they mean is that no woman in this room, in this state in this country should of the right to control her own body. i disagree. [cheers] what they mean is that our gay

brothers and sisters should not have the right to be married. i disagree. [cheers] and when we talk about what goes on in america together we are going to reform and broken criminal justice system. [cheers] it's not acceptable to me we have more people in jail than any other country on earth largely african-american and latino. when police officers commit a crime they will be held accountable. [cheers] we will demilitarize local police departments. [cheers] and we will make police

department's look like the diversity of the communities they serve. [cheers] and we are going to address this very, very harmful war on drugs. [cheers] i believe that we must take marijuana out of the federal controlled substance act. [cheers] too many americans have received criminal records because of marijuana possession. we talk about what is going on in america. what we are going to do is to do what every other major country on earth is doing.

guarantee health care to all people as a right. [cheers] i will tell you what else we will do. as responsible adults, as parents, grandparents, we understand that it is morally irresponsible for us to leave this planet and away that is -- a way that is unhealthy and uninhabitable for our kids. [cheers] climate change -- [chanting] >> bernie, bernie, bernie! sen. sanders: pope francis and

scientists around the world have told us climate change is real. it is caused by human activity. it is already causing devastating problems in our country and around the world. we have the moral responsibility to work with china russia, india, countries all over the world in taking on the fossil fuel industry and transforming our energy system. [cheers] i do not often get involved in state or local issues other than my own state, but i find it rather incredible that the public utilities commission here in nevada has made a decision which makes it harder for people to install solar panels. [boos]

we have got to make it easier not harder. [cheers] rights. [chanting] i very much hope that state government here will reconsider that disastrous decision. nevada has the opportunity to lead this country in solar power. take it. [cheers] our campaign has been about a lot of issues but it can come down to three fundamental issues. number one, today we have a campaign finance system which is corrupt. which is allowing billionaires

to buy elections. [boos] we together are going to overturn citizens united. [cheers] we together are going to and this republican effort for voter repression. [cheers] and together with the political revolution is about is our country having one of the highest rates of voter turnout not one of the lowest. [cheers] and we are going to end this rigged economy. [cheers] and we are going to reform a

broken criminal justice system. [cheers] last month one of the large financial institutions, goldman sachs -- [boos] you've heard of goldman sachs? [laughter] they paid a $5 billion fine to the federal government. $5 billion for selling worthless packages of subprime mortgage loans. [boos] here is something interesting. a kid gets arrested with marijuana. that kid gets a police record. executives on wall street who destroyed the economy and the lives of millions somehow they

don't get a police record. [boos] we are going to bring back justice to the criminal justice system. [cheers] and by the way as the former chairman of the veterans committee, we are going to make sure that our veterans get the benefits and the health care to which they are entitled. [cheers] route -- brothers and sisters with this campaign is essentially about is whether we have a political system and then economy which is controlled by a handful of billionaires or

whether we have an economy and political system which is controlled by ordinary americans, [cheers] that is what tomorrow's caucus is about. [cheers] nevada, please come out in large numbers. nevada, please help us move the political revolution forward. thank you all.
