in those circumstances, your decisions about whether action is appropriate to the history of discrimination in this country or whether a general right of privacy encompasses a more specific right of women to control the reproduction, or whether the commerce clause empowers congress to speak on those issues of broad national concern that may only relate to what is easily defined as inner-state commerce. in those difficult cases the critical ingredient is supplied by what is in the judge's heart. i spoke to judge roberts about this, and he confessed it is not easy for him to talk about his values and his deeper feelings,

that is not how he is trained. he did say that he does not like bullies, and has always viewed the law as evening out the playing field between the strong and the weak. i was impressed with that statement because i view the law in much the same way. the problem i had is that when i examined judge roberts' record and history of public service, it is my personal estimation that he has far more often used his formidable skills on behalf of the strong in opposition to the weak. in his work in the white house he seems to have consistently sided with those who were dismissive of efforts to eradicate the remnants of racial discrimination in our political process.

he seemed dismissive of the concern that every woman knows it is harder to make it in this world and in this economy when you are a woman rather than a man. i want to take judge roberts at his word, that he does not like bullies and he sees the law and the court as a means of evening to playing field between the strong and the weak. given the gravity of the position he will undoubtedly ascend, the gravity of the decisions he will undoubtedly participate in during his tenure on the court, i ultimately have to give more weight to his deeds and the overarching political philosophy that he appears to have shared with those in power then to the assuring words that

he provided me in our meeting. the bottom line is this, i will be voting against his nomination. i do so with considerable reticence. i hope that i am wrong. i hope that this reticence on my part proves unjustified and that judge roberts will show himself to not only be an outstanding legal thinker but also someone who upholds the court's historic role as a check on the majority impulses of the executive branch and the legislative branch. i hope he will recognize who the weak and who the strong are in our society. i hope the jurisprudence stands up to the bullies of all ideological strikes. this leads me to conclude with one more comment on this confirmation process. i was deeply concerned by some

statements that were made by, largely democratic advocacy groups when ranking member senator leahy announced he would support judge roberts. although the scales have tipped in a different direction for me, i am deeply admiring of the work and the thought the ranking member senator leahy has put in to make his decision. the knee-jerk, unbending and unfair attacks on senator leahy's motives were unjustified. unfortunately, both parties have fallen victim to this kind of pressure. i think every senator on the other side of the aisle, if they were honest would acknowledge that the same unyielding,

unbending, dogmatic approach to judicial confirmation has in large part been responsible for the kind of poisonous atmosphere that is held in this chamber surrounding judicial nominations. it is tempting for those on the side of the aisle to go tit for tat. what i would like to see is all of us recognize that as we move forward to the next nominee, our understanding that in fact, issues that are confronted by the supreme court are difficult issues. that is why they get up to the supreme court. the issues facing the court are rarely black and white, and that all advocacy groups who have a legitimate and profound interest in the decisions made by the court try to make certain that their advocacy reflects this complexity and do not resort to the broadbrush, dogmatic attacks that have hampered the process in the past and constrained each and every senator in this

[applause] >> ladies and gentlemen, i love you all. thank you. tonight is a very serious night. night that we republicans have an opportunity like never before to change the direction of the screen and we mrve to do it and we are going to do it -- and we are going to do it. isn't it great to be a republican? [applause] i have the distinct honor and privilege to introduce an individual that is my friend.

in individual i have served -- an individual i have served with. an individual that is extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and has always been able to do what he set out to do. people say, i've got to vote for this guy or that guy because somebody has to get enough votes to get the nomination. i am here to tell you, there is no candidate that is going to have enough delegate votes going into ohio to get the nomination. we are going to have a contested convention. we have had 10. we republicans have had 10

contested conventions over the life of our party. only three times has the leading candidate won the nomination. there is a gentleman by the name of abraham lincoln. which we all know, was the father of our party. went to chicago in 1860. he was number three. he went to the convention. he walked out of that convention as our nominee. i believe, ladies and gentlemen, he is by far the best president we have ever had. abraham lincoln, and some people

say i am old enough to know him. i was not. [laughter] but i am here tonight to introduce to you, my friends, an individual i believe has a lot of the characteristics, a lot of the attributes, and a lot of the qualifications that honest abe had. our country was adrift, as it is today. our country was split, as it is today. our country was in need of leadership. there is an individual by the name of john kasich, ladies and gentlemen, that at the age of 30 went to congress. he went to congress with the idea he was going to change things. we republicans believe in that.

he said, i cannot wait around to become budget chairman. i can't wait for the seniority system. he ran, against the odds, and became the budget chairman. he, ladies and gentlemen, drafted the budget. in 1994, the balanced budget. not before and never sense. it was john kasich. his leadership, ladies and gentlemen, made it happen. everybody said it could not be done. john kasich did it. then he decided, ladies and gentlemen, to go into business and he was successful there. then he found that his state of ohio, like the state of wisconsin, under democrat

leadership was adrift. he came back to the state of ohio, balanced the budget, and today there are $2 billion in surplus in ohio. he created 400,000 jobs. increased the bond rating. helped a lot of people, especially the young and the disabled. john kasich, ladies and gentlemen, is a leader. he is a doer. he is the individual i am so proud to be able to support. because, i look at this election. one that is so important, so necessary. john kasich the one candidate,

ladies and gentlemen, time and time again, who beats hillary clinton, bernie sanders, by over 10 points. like we cannot afford another four years of democrat leadership. there is only one candidate that definitely will win. as bill buckley said, the father of our conservative movement, vote for the conservative that can win. that is john kasich, ladies and gentlemen. he can win and will win. we are going to the super bowl. the green bay packers are going to the super bowl. the badgers are going to the rose bowl. we are going to win the final for next year and we are going to have john kasich as the president of the united states. i need your help. let's get behind the winner and super bowl champion john kasich. [laughter]

♪ [applause] mr. kasich: how about around of applause for your four term governor, tommie thompson? people wonder, how could you bring that congress together? how can you get things done? i want to tell you i had the man that runs the serbian hall come to me and introduce himself and say, my wife and i voted for you. let me also tell you, back in 1977 when i was a young man running for the state legislature, i sat down with another man that reminded me of him.

this man had a shock white hair and piercing blue eyes. he called me into his office. he said, young man, you know that i am serbian. i said, yes sir. he said, i happen to know you are croatian. why don't we set that aside for the rest of this election. so i brought us together, serbians and croats. if you can do that, you can bring anybody together. [laughter] [applause] i heard 38% of people who live in this state don't know anything about me to form an opinion. i guess that is what happens when you are positive all the time and you don't enter a

demolition derby. the reason i am comfortable here is i grew up in a blue-collar town outside of pittsburgh. it was blue-collar. frankly, i don't remember meeting a republican when i was a young man. they were all democrats. my father was a democrat. he carried mail on his back. delivered mail for almost 30 years. his father was a coal miner. my grandfather died of black lung. he was losing his eyesight because of the time he spent in the mine. my mother's mother could barely speak english. she was croatian. it was hard to communicate with her because she had few things she could say. my mother, i was told a couple of weeks ago, there are two ways

to think about yourself as an ethnic. you think of somebody who clings to that and honors it all the time, or somebody who says we are going to put that aside and become americans. my mother was one that said, we are going to emphasize americans. i did not know a lot about the history until my cousin told me that in my mother's family, there were four. her, her sister, and two brothers. my mother walked across a footbridge to get her high school diploma. my childhood was common sense, god-fearing, playing by the rules. my mother and father always told me, johnny, you believe you can

change the world. what is most important, where ever are, you make the world a little bit at her place because you were there. they also strongly believed in what america represents in the ability of people to rise. i got my values there. i have to tell you, in that little town, it is a town where if the wind blew the wrong way, people found themselves out of work. i understand people who are donald trump voters. let me to you who they are and what they worry about. they worry about the fact they could lose their job. that they are 52 years old and somebody walks in one day and says, you are out of work. some politicians created some agreement and they lost out. people saying i have been playing by the rules and i cannot get a raise. my grandfather would come up at the end of a long day and think he could get good pay, and they would say, we will only bring you for the coal you brought up. it was a ripoff. there are many people who feel they are experiencing the ripoff.

they put their money in a bank. it used to be coming you would get interest. today, we get no interest. what they really worry about, more than anything else, what they really worry about is their sons and daughters went to college to get an education because they were told if your kids get educated, they are going to have a better life. now their kids are still living at home without a job but with big debt. this anxiety is something that people feel very strongly about. they are looking for a vehicle to express their frustration. i've got to tell you, those people i grew up with who played by the rules, and things rarely worked out in a special way, they are the people in my minds eye since i was a young politician.

i have always been independent. the republican party has been my vehicle and not my master. the republican party has given me an opportunity to contribute to our society. i have always been an independent operator, somebody that looks at problems and is not concerned about who i might be upsetting on the way. i was a young state senator. yes, they raised their pay. when the pay raise past, i did not take it. when republicans said they needed to raise taxes, i ran a campaign that said we should have none. when we won the majority at age 28, they decided to raise taxes. i said no, i promised i would not. they said, you are you responsible. i said, i will write my own budget for the state. i had people sneaking in, telling me how to improve the government.

i did not win the budget fight but i kept my promise and i kept my word. i made suggestions that ultimately got adopted into the law. i left the state senate. they took my district away from me. they wanted to end my career, but at age 30, i ran for congress. i had campaigned with ronald reagan. he was an inspiration to me. what he taught me was a couple of things. you have to have strength when it comes to national security. second, you have to give people an incentive to work and give them the opportunity to rise. in 1982, i ran for the congress. iran on the reagan agenda.

there were not many people running on the reagan agenda. they were running away because the economy was not doing well. iran against a democrat and comment on the fact that we could shrink taxes and rebuild the defense. in 1982, there was only one republican candidate for the u.s. congress who defeated an incumbent democrat and that person was me, john kasich. [applause] i served on the armed services committee for 18 years. let me tell you, these are difficult times. there is no time for on the job training. being a united states congressman in 1983, i worked with republicans and conservative democrats to rebuild the military.

during that experience, i worked with my friends to reform the pentagon, to change the operation of that building, with members of congress committed to a strong national defense. i was there and i remember the night, that because of the strength of ronald reagan, that berlin wall came tumbling down. that was an amazing time in american history. not just in modern history. [applause] mr. kasich: i was also there when i saw the muslims push saddam hussein out of kuwait. and i remember when we won so decisively, and people said we should have gone into baghdad to complete the job, and a remember how smart george h.w. bush was with advisers, in not going to baghdad and the getting the job done and coming home. i was called into the pentagon after 9/11 by secretary rumsfeld, with the former secretary of defense, and from that meeting forward for a

number of years i led technology experts into the pentagon to deal with technology problems. think about that arc, all the way from defeating the soviet union, the berlin wall collapsing, to a united coalition of arabs and westerners, to defeat saddam hussein, all the way to 9/11. that is why am prepared today. as a congressman, i found myself on the budget committee. i was complaining that the republicans and democrats were not serious about balancing the budget. i wanted to balance the budget for two reasons, the immorality of leaving debt to the children, and i knew that if you could balance a budget and reduce taxes, you could put yourself in a position where you could have economic growth. what i learned was three things, creating jobs, creating more jobs, and creating all the jobs you could, because it is through

job creation that allows people to recognize their god-given purpose in life to change the world and live out their destiny. i knew that fighting to balance the budget was the right thing to do. but it did not come easy. it took 10 years of my efforts and efforts of the team built to get us to the point where he actually balanced the budget for the first time since man walked on the moon. we paved out the largest amount of debt in modern history, half $1 trillion. we also were any position where we had a $5 trillion surplus projected, it could have been used to fix social security and there was no discussion at that time about income inequality or the lack of rising wages, because when you finally balance the budget, cut taxes, restored common sense in washington, we had an explosion of economic

growth and it was a glorious time in my life. i created a goal and i had met it. and after being in a position where we were able to balance the budget, leaving surpluses behind, i left washington because i never wanted to be a professional politician. i do not even like politics. [applause] mr. kasich: i left for 10 years and i did a variety of things that gave me more experience. some of you will remember me from when i was a giants are on star on fox news. anyway, i went out for 10 years. i was having a great time, i did not want to go back into politics. but i got a call. have any of you ever had a call? it was not a phone call, it was not a text, it was not an e-mail. i think, when the lord blesses you and gives you so much, you can barely contain yourself, you also begin to understand about your responsibilities and

continue to do things that can change the world. the call was, i needed to go back in and run for governor. iran at the perfect time. things could get not much worse in ohio. we had lost jobs, our credit was going down the drain, 20% of the operating budget in the hole and i went to new york and they told me, we are going to cut up your credit cards, because ohio is about dead. i ran in the election, and i had never run statewide in the state of ohio. the only time before that somebody who had never won statewide against an incumbent, was 96 years earlier. i ran and i won. and people said, we needed to raise taxes, expand government. let me tell you what we did. i cut taxes more than any other

governor in america, including no income tax for small business, killing the debt tax, so that people could pass businesses onto their families. now that we have done that, we are killing debt. we are working at it. we cut taxes more than anybody, our budget deficit went from 20% in hole, a billion dollars with of deficits to a $2 billion surplus. and we went from a loss of 350,000 jobs, to a gain of 400,000 jobs with wages growing faster than the national average. and i want you to know we have left no one behind because we believe it is immoral or the mentally ill leap under a bridge or live in prisons. and we believe that people with drug addictions can be rehabilitated. in our prison system, we are

doing just that with an 80% success rate. poor, believe the working instead of being punished for working harder, ought to be rewarded during and we believe that -- rewarded. we believe that the mentally -- the developmentally disabled ought to be mainstreamed. i decided over time to run for president. you know why? because there are two critical issues in the country today. economic strength. as the budget committee chairman in washington, we have massive economic expansion and tremendous job growth and hope. in ohio, i entered at a very tough time. and now people across this state are hopeful again. people are getting work, where

our children can have a future. and that model is not complicated. it just takes guts. it means you have commonsense regulation so you do not crush small business and i will have a that will freeze all federal regulations for one year, except for health and safety, force the congress to vote on regulation. bureaucrats are writing laws that have no right to do. and begin to unwind the regulations that are stomping on small business and helping us -- and keeping us from having economic growth we want in this country. secondly, we need to reduce taxes on corporations who see fit to send their profits to europe because it costs too much to bring that money back. i know it because i've been in business. and we need to reduce the individual tax rate but we need to do it in such a way that we

can pass it. can we can go back to the old reagan model with capital gains to provide incentives and we can make the tax code simpler and clearer and realistically able to pass. us on a path to a balanced budget as i have in the no third rails, no problems with the dealing with entitlements, with innovation. and i want you to know one other thing. i will ship welfare, education, medicaid, job training and infrastructure back to the states so that states can provide the program and innovation and change that we all seek by shifting power, money and influence out of washington. [applause] but what i also would like you get ready to leave the stage here, is that it does matter who is the president. ronald reagann

said it was morning in america, a shining city on the hill. you think i don't know what winston churchill said about never, never, ever give up? of course i know. but the strength of our country does not rest in the president. the strength of our country rests in us. didn'twas a kid, we worship presidents. our hero was roberto clemente, the great baseball player, who gave up his life trying to help earthquake that rims in victimsa -- earthquake in nicaragua. i remember when my mother came into my room, one of the few times i watched my mother cry, because children like to see their mother cry. it is unsettling. and my mother came in and said our hero died last night.

we did, i remember that not wait for someone to come in on a white horse. to try to save us. the strength of our country rests in our families. it rests in our communities. it rests in our neighborhoods. you want to fix your schools? you want to make sure your kids are getting the skills they need? then go do it. ,on't wait for somebody else through madison or somebody down in washington. you do it. change the world. you want to fight the problem of drug abuse in the state? you grab a kid and tell that young won't -- that young manner that young woman that they have will beven gift at that killed or of security if they caved to the evils of drug addiction. can they change it? you better believe it. we have a program called start

talking. we start talking to kids. and we all need to across this country. and we don't need to wait for bureaucrats and government officials. we do it in our churches and our community organizations and our schools. poverty?to fight you have a welfare office of brings persons in. and when someone comes in to get the welfare check, you train them for the jobs in the welfare office. you don't wait for anybody else. you do it. people in the walkie did not wait to have someone fix their schools. they took matters into their own hand. ladies and gentlemen, the lord has made us all special, for a purpose, to live a life bigger than ourselves. their life live out bigger than ourselves, if we are in us, you spend 15 next 10 minutes with a family when the nurses did tired and tell the families going to be ok. or a teacher, one of the most underpaid people on the earth, who changes kids lives.

i'll give you another way to change the world. you have a lady who was married for 50 years. her husband died. her phone doesn't ring anymore. you call her on monday. you say we are taking you to dinner on saturday night. and you know where she's going on thursday, don't you? she's going to get her hair done. and somehow, when saturday night comes, despite the fact that she slept on a thursday night and friday night, that hair is still perfect. and when you pick her up, she is wearing a dress that she hadn't worn in six months. did you change the world? you did. folks, let's stop thinking about where we fall short. let's stop thinking about all the trauma. anall that is wrong during let's celebrate the great fact that america's best days are

ahead of them if we remember the formula that made it -- that made us great. and it's not very complicated. it just takes leadership. it takes guts. and it gets a leader to remind all of the people who make the laws in this country that you may be a republican, you may be a democrat, but before any of that, you are an american. you are an american that is there to change the world and give everybody a chance to realize their god-given purpose or in i become -- purpose. i become president, fix the economy appeared but for you, you restore the spirit of america in your families, neighborhoods and communities where you live in thank you and god bless america. [applause]

[applause] commonsense conservative , you help me in 2012 with the recall election and two years ago and their reelection in 2014. in each of those election years, he also helped to have the numbers. look what we got. a better economy. a better budget. better schools. a better wisconsin. sound good to good? [applause]

the report they came out a couple of weeks ago, january, show that in the state of wisconsin, we had one of the lowest in employment we've had in about a decade and a half. the percentage of people working in this state is now the sixth highest in the entire country. [applause] and it was simple. we got government out of the way. we lowered income and property taxes. we lowered tuition at all of our wisconsin university campuses. we got red tape out of the way. look -- weed controlled for a verse -- we controlled frivolous lawsuits. you responded. more people are working in

the state. common sense conservative principles work. [applause] work withon't just the economy. we have had a balanced budget. we had a budget surplus every year we've been in office. a rainy day fund that is when hundred 62 times bigger than when we took office. and remember the protesters a few years ago? remember how they said public education would be in trouble? i'm proud to say that our public schools, act scores are the second best in the country and graduation rates or third best in the country. [applause] common sense conservative principles work. and all of you in this state understand that. all of the -- all of you who helped knock on doors and made phone calls and talk to your neighbors and coworkers and friends and all of you who prayed or to net and matt and

alex and i when we went to those protesters -- you know what the battle is all about ariba you know that it is worth it. not for us. not for republican majorities, but fairer children and our grandchildren. more for the next generation and the people of wisconsin have responded time and time again to that positive conservative message. thank you for making that possible. and so tonight, i'm going to ask for your help one more time. not just here in the state, but for this country. i know there is a lot of people who helped us out and maybe you may be thinking about this candidate or that candidate. i hope for those of you who have not yet made up your mind, i can tell you who i am casting my vote for on tuesday and i hope you will join with me, not just for was me to heaven on tuesday's primary, but for the

momentum that will come from that and the impact it will have on this country, on this nomination, on this party, and most importantly the already as a whole. our proud to tell you i am endorsing ted cruz to be the next president of the united states. [applause] three quicke you reasons why. we don't shout. we just talked in this state. you see, protesters five years ago, they tried to shout us out and we highly got the work done and showed that our results work. so i will give you three simple reasons why i am proud to support ted on tuesday to be our nominee and to be ultimately our president come this fall. first off, ted cruz is a constitutional conservative. you know why that matters? we have shown in this state why that matters. you see, he understands what the

founders of this country, some 240 years ago, the incredibly, unbelievably brave founders of this country had a pretty good vision. power should not be concentrated in washington. it should flow to the states. more important to the people. the people in wisconsin can take charge of their government. we need someone committed to the constitution. secondly, what i love is something we can relate to in wisconsin. ted cruz is not afraid to take on the status quo. we showed america what it is to take power out of the hands of the big government special interests. it has worked year after year. it has worked. it is about time we have that

commonsense leadership in our nations capital. ted cruz talked about that kind of approach and opinion to washington. it shook things up. it shook up the democrats. it shook up the status quo. occasionally it shook up republicans in washington. but he doesn't care, because his constituency is in you, the american hard-working people. that is what he is going to do as your next president. to me there is one more reason, third reason why i am supporting ted cruz to be president. my reasons are about who i am for, not who i am against. that is important. we like to be for something, not against something. the third reason is a practical

reason. ted cruz without a doubt is the candidate who can win the nomination of the party, bring the party together at the convention and defeat hillary clinton this fall. between now and tuesday, in wisconsin, as republicans our opponents aren't the people on the primary ballot. our opponent is hillary clinton, someone who is star found that so far out of touch of reality, even the democrats understand -- that is why bernie sanders has support. democrats understand we cannot trust hillary clinton on benghazi, on the server, on leading this country.

it is my honor to tell you i am for. i was talking with folks at the lincoln day dinner. i got to sit next to ted cruz's dad. my dad is a preacher. both of us are preachers kids. we know what it is like to grow up with the scrutiny of being preachers kids. we understand how our kids feel. hopefully one of them will be a president. thinking about big next to his dad it brought a smile to my face. i could see some of the things my dad does. i thought about it.

thinking about growing up during the 1980's. growing up not just the kid of a preacher but growing up in a time when the leader of our country was someone we could look up to. someone who thought about the future more than just his own. someone who had a vision of how to bring this country together not by running away from principles but by embracing those principles and applying them to leading our nation. that was ronald reagan. we came of age at that time. ted and i came of age not an office. we came of age. we were in high school. ronald reagan was our president. he was our leader. the leader of the free world. we believed in him because he had a plan to move the country forward. he was a principled conservative who was optimistic about the

american people. i believe that is to we have with us tonight, a gentleman who will win the wisconsin primary, who will unite the party when he receives the nomination and who will put us on the right track after he is elected the 45th president of the united states. put your hands together for ted cruz. mr. cruz: god bless the great state of wisconsin. i have to say. your governor is a rock star. let me tell you. when governor scott walker stood up and took on the union bosses, when we saw vicious personal attacks, when we solve vicious threats, and millions of men and women across the state of wisconsin stood with your governor and said we got your back. i want to tell you it inspired

millions of americans across this country. it inspired me. it demonstrated when we the people stand together we can beat the special interests bankrupting our kids and grandkids. and the courage and principle that scott walker and the people of wisconsin demonstrated in that fight over and over again is exactly in the courage we need ndc to turn this country around. [applause] mr. cruz: i am so humbled, so honored to be standing here with governor walker. thank you for your friendship and tremendous leadership. [applause] mr. cruz: you know, you can

learn of a lot about a word looking to its roots. if you look at the roots of the word politics, it has two parts. polly, meaning many and ticks, meaning bloodsucking parasites. [laughter] that is an accurate description. we are here tonight for something important politics. we are bankrupting our kids and grandkids. america has receded from leadership in the world and it has made the world a more dangerous place.

i am here with a word of hope and encouragement. all across the state of wisconsin people are waking up. help is on the way. [applause] this next election will focus on three critical issues. jobs, freedom and security. let's start with jobs. i want to take a minute to talk to the single moms. they are working to, three part-time jobs. i want to talk to all the truck drivers, all the plumbers and electricians, all the union members, all the working men and

women with calluses on your hands, who have seen wages stagnate year over year. cost of living keeps going up. somehow your paycheck doesn't keep pace. i want to talk to the young people coming out of school, student loans up to your eyeballs. scared. in mild going to get a job? what does the future hold for me? the mainstream media try to tell us this is the new normal. this is as good as it gets. that is an absolute lie. [applause] it is easy to talk about making america great again. you can even print that on a baseball cap. [applause]

the real question is do you understand the principles and values that made america great in the first place? the heart of our economy is not washington dc. the heart of our economy is millions of small businesses across the united states of america. [applause] you want to unleash jobs, you have to take the boot of the federal government off the back of the next of small business. if i'm elected president, we will repeal every word of obama care. [applause]

we will pass commonsense health care reform that makes health insurance personal and portable and affordable, and keeps government from getting in between us and our doctors. [applause] mr. cruz: we will pass a simple flat tax. [applause] every american can fill out our taxes on a postcard. when we do that, we should abolish the irs. [applause] we're going to rain in the epa. and the regulations killing jobs all across this country. we are going to stop amnesty and secure the border is an in the sanctuary cities and and welfare

benefits for those here illegally. [applause] let me tell you what's going to happen when we do all of that. we will see millions and millions of high-paying jobs. jobs coming back to america, back to china, back from mexico. manufacturing jobs coming back to the state of wisconsin, wages rising for americans across this country, young people coming out of school with 2, 5 jobs. [applause] we will see morning in america again. the second critical issue, freedom. the passing a few weeks ago of

justice scalia underscores the stakes of this election. it is not just one but two branches of government that hang in the balance. we are one liberal justice away from a radical five justice majority the likes of which this country has never seen. we are one justice away from a supreme court that would strip the religious liberty for americans across this country. we are one justice away from a supreme court that would effectively erase the second amendment from the bill of rights. one justice away from the supreme court making a subject to the world court in the united nations and international law, and giving away u.s. sovereignty. two debates ago, hugh hewitt

asked a question about religious liberty and the supreme court. donald trump turned to me. he said test, i have known more politicians than you have. in that he is correct. donald trump has been supporting liberal democratic politicians for 40 years. i have no experience with that. [applause] mr. cruz: donald continued. he said when it comes to the supreme court, when it comes to religious liberty you have to learn to compromise. you have to learn to cut deals with the democrats and go along to get along. let me be very clear to the men and women of wisconsin.

i will not compromise away your religious liberty. [applause] i will not compromise away your second amendment rights to keep and bear arms. the third critical issue in this race, security. for seven years we've had a president who abandon our friend and ally. two debates ago, donald trump explained if he were president, he said he would be neutral between israel and the palestinians. let me be very clear. as president i will not be neutral america will stand on a

hot ill genetically with the -- unapologetically with the nation of israel. anyone who can't tell the difference between our friends and our enemies, anyone who can't tell the difference between israel and islamic terrorists, that raises real questions about their fitness and judgment to be commander-in-chief. we were all horrified by an attack in brussels. every time we see one of these attacks, paris, san bernardino, brussels, president obama goes on national television and

refuses to even utter the word radical islamic terrorism. instead he lectures americans on islamophobia. the last attack, president obama found it very inconvenient. it interrupted his baseball game with the castro's. wasn't a delightful to see the president palling around with communist dictators in front of the giant portrait of che guevara? to see a joint press conference stood up andstro said let me tell you all the

horrible things about america and have president obama say i agree with you, america is terrible. it is asking too much to have a president who will defend the united states of america? [applause] over the last seven years we've seen our military weaken. we've seen this before. we've seen another left-wing democratic president, jimmy carter, weaken the military. then we had president reagan. it generated trillions in new government revenue. use the revenue to rebuild the military and we bankrupted the soviet union and won the cold war. [applause] i intend to do the same thing with radical islamic terrorism. we are going to repeal obama care and pass a flat tax and pulled back the regulators and stop amnesty.

we will see millions of more jobs created. it will create millions for the government and we will use that revenue to rebuild the military so it remains the mightiest fighting force on the face of the planet. [applause] no longer will our military be governed by political correctness. [applause] we have principled leaders that keep us safe here at home. sheriff knows how to make a tax and at home by wearing his boots.

i will tell you, sheriff, for the jihadists across the globe, come january 2017 a day of reckoning is coming. [applause] we are not going to weaken. we are going to utterly and completely destroy isis. [applause] one of the most shameful aspects of the last seven years has been this president sending our fighting men and women into combat. with rules of engagement so

strict their arms are tied behind their backs and they cannot fight, they cannot win, they cannot defeat the enemy. that is wrong. it is immoral. come 2017 it will end. [applause] america has always been reluctant to use military force. we are slow to anger. if and when military force is needed we should use overwhelming force, kill the enemy and get the heck out. [applause] let's talk politics. we had 17 republican candidates. it was a dynamic field. what a contrast.

with the democrats a wild eyed socialist with ideas that are dangerous for america and the world and bernie sanders. [laughter] [applause] over the course of the air we have seen what a primary is supposed to do. the field has narrowed. the field has narrowed, there are only two candidates who have the path to the nomination. me and donald trump. wisconsin is a battleground. the entire country, their eyes are on the state of wisconsin.

he men and women here have a platform. you were speaking not just for the state but the entire country. for the 65-70% of republicans who recognize nominating donald trump is a train wreck, that is actually not fair to train wreck. hillary not only wins, she wins by a big margin. if hillary is the next president, the supreme court is lost for a generation. the bill of rights is lost. our kids are buried.

trillions are more in debt. what we're seeing happening in wisconsin and across the country is republicans are coming together and uniting behind this campaign. [applause] of the 17 candidates who started we have seen five candidates come together supporting this campaign. rick perry, carly fiorina, lindsey graham, jeb bush, and your own governor scott walker. [applause] that is the real manifestation of the unity we need across this country, to win, republicans

have to stand together. if ware divided we will lose the primary and hand the general election to hillary clinton. it is men and women here you are taking the lead to make that happen. i am here tonight asking for your help. i'm asking for each of you to continue standing up between now and tuesday, to take it upon yourself not just to vote. i want to ask everyone here to vote for me 10 times. now look. we are not democrats. i am not suggesting voter fraud. if everyone here gets nine other people to come out and vote on tuesday you will have voted 10 times.

[applause] sarah palin: my favorite brother-in-law, he is from a tiny town in wisconsin. another cool connection we have, i just got a text from number 64, jerry kramer. he -- yeah, cheeseheads. we are cheeseheads in alaska, we do not have pro teams, so any connection we have. one of them, my dad played with jerry kramer in his high school days, so we get to claim, ok, we have a connection with the cheeseheads. by the way, we are on a mission to try to get jerry kramer finally inducted into the nfl pro football hall of fame. we have donald trump helping us do that. you'll get a good benefit from trump with one of your favorite players. it is great to be here. are you ready to make america great again? sarah palin: here is the deal, you cannot lose your beautiful state to hillary clinton. [booing] sarah palin: hillary clinton is the continuation of obama, her policies, her people, that will be the continuation of obama and wisconsin cannot afford that. there have not been enough victories and there will be more victories for wisconsin under president donald trump. you have to consider on tuesday when you are voting for who you want to see representing the republican party to go up against hillary, you need to consider who can beat hillary. remember, obama -- the cruz people, romney and those guys, they were working together and the representation that is manifest, it is not going to bode well for wisconsin if it is

ted cruz on the ticket and not donald trump. donald trump is the only one that can beat hillary clinton. [applause] sarah palin: you know, because of the state of the media as it is, sometimes you do not get accurate information that you need, do you? sometimes, most times, things are twisted and turned and donald trump's policies are not necessarily reported accurately. let's do a little pop quiz for the sake of the media, maybe you guys can yell out the answers and maybe the media will listen to you and will get some respect for you and report accurately the answers to these simple questions. wisconsin, who is the only candidate that has created middle-class jobs and help

i think that we will do really well. [applause] mr. trump: really well. look at these young people. you know, something i said on the way up and i was saying it before, i am self funding my campaign. i do not know if it is worth it, i will let you know in about a year or less. but i think it means a lot. the reason is, all of these people i am running against, the republicans and the democrats, they are not doing it the way that i am. when hillary clinton gets money from the oil industry and all the other industries, when john kasich gets money from the people he is getting money from, they totally control him. believe me. when ted cruz, lying ted -- believe me, lying said -- ted. i have met a lot tougher than him, by have never seen anybody lie like lying ted.

when he gets money from the banks, oil, gas, from everything, believe me, they have him. i get money from me. i really am here for one reason, to represent you. to represent you. believe me. [applause] mr. trump: and, it is so great. when i come to places. i told my people, let's keep them smaller, because we had protesters. they said, let's keep them smaller, so we can check everybody who comes in. i said, yeah, but i like the big. we have 5000 -- where is the long? -- mall? we have 5000 people in the mall, i said enough, let them have protesters. who cares? we have 5000 people on the other side and i feel so guilty, let's all say, we love you.

audience: we love you. mr. trump: but you would not swap seats. i guarantee you that. i hope you can hear well. can you hear well? and can the mall here well? -- hear well? i hope they can. this is amazing. look, i am doing this to make america great again. look at all of these hats. we are doing this -- [applause] mr. trump: we are doing this to make, look at that guy. stand up. do i look like that? can you believe it? look at that. alright, it looks great. good job.

it is a simple, beautiful theme, "make america great again." we have so many problems, so far worse then you understand. i know the numbers. the governor gave a plaque a year ago when he thought that i liked him. i do, he came to my office, he gave me a plaque. i bet that he wishes he could do that over again. i need to show that plaque. i keep saying, no, i should not have brought it. i want to showt. we will be here. i think that it will be an amazing couple of days. i think that we are going to win. i really do. [applause] mr. trump: i think, i think that people are going to be surprised. i saw the outpouring that we had.

somebody else was here and they had 300 people, and we have thousands in here, 5000 out there. i think we have more than 2000 in here. i think that we are going to win. let's just see what happens. i know one thing, we are going do well. well does not win -- mean anything. have you ever heard of a man named vince lombardi? in this neck of the woods? what did he say about winning? right. [indiscernible] mr. trump: he knows. i met him once and he was with three of his players, in a restaurant. these three players were tough cookies. two of them are friends of mine and they played for your team. they were great players. vince lombardi was not a big guy. he walked in and he was angry,

you could see, and he came over to the table. he saw these three guys, twice his size, they could have swatted him. i will not tell you what he did, he actually grabbed one of them by the shirt. today, you cannot do that. then he left. he gave him an earful. i want to tell you, this big strong guy, he weighed about 250 then. that is like 310 now. and he left him a stormed out -- left, stormed out. and this guy was shaken. i said to myself, the reason that vince, i have great respect for him as a coach, and i love bill belichick, certain people you need to respect. and i said at one of my other meetings, tom brady is a friend of mine. he is great. nice, right? you think your quarterback is

great. tom told me that. vince lombardi, the reason he got away, his winning. if he did not win, he cannot get away with that. he would not be a look and get that kind of fear, respect, but fear from a big, strong player. but he won. he had one many times -- won many times. and the respect they had for him was incredible. we do not win. we cannot beat isis. we cannot beat trade, china, mexico, they think we are stupid. mexico, japan, vietnam, india, any nation, name a nation -- they do well. it does not make a difference.

they do well, and the more i think about it, the more i realize, they do well for a very specific reason. not that the politicians are so stupid, many of them are, many of them are not, but because politicians take contributions from people representing certain other parts of the world, or companies involved in other parts of the world, and they do things not in your best interest. when i say i am self funding, i have turned down more money, i bet that any human being has turned down for political run. frankly, everybody takes money. [applause] mr. trump: and when you think of it, not a big difference. for years, probably, i may be wrong, but the only one would be ross perot many years ago.

but, he did not take money. i have turned down so much. people coming up, $10 million, donald we want to give you $10 million for your campaign. $5 million, $2 million, $1 million, jeb bush had $100,000 or so. i do know -- i do not know if i get credit for it. many people say, i like donald trump, i like ted cruz, that is not a very comparison. i am so much better. [laughter] mr. trump: i would do a summit better job. i will do so much better. not even close, but i will do so much better. you know why, because i am working for you. they talk about working for you, but they are not. they are working for the next

election, campaign contributions, what else? who knows what else they take? who knows what else they work for? they are working at a minimum campaign conservation. people come up to me -- our politicians are so stupid, why would they make deals like that? there was a deal recently, a committee made an incredible deal and politicians approved it. and people say, politicians are so stupid. no, they are represent by the smartest people they have ever seen, special interest groups, lobbyists. some of these guys, it says ted

cruz, the lobbyist, tattooed on their forehead. i can deal with ted cruz. they raise a lot of money for him. and when they need a vote, i am not going to vote for that. you have to, we gave you $2 million for your campaign when nobody else would put up the money. do i know this is the better than anybody? on june 16, i only started this political stuff on june 16, i was before that, a big contributor. it is a system, it is not good. it is a system and it is what we have. you have guys -- it says hillary on this guy's forehead. you go to him, you want hillary. you go to another guy if you want john kasich. another guy if you want ted cruz. 100%, 100%, by the way, they will not always get what they want. maybe 90%. there are some things you cannot do. but they get what they want a lot, they are professionals. they are very good at it.

so, when i am self funding, i hope people appreciate it. it means a lot, i do not go anybody, anything. i do not owe them. [applause] mr. trump: and i said on the way up, so far i have invested $35 million, something like that. my money. and you know what, it has no impact on me. look, i built a great company, and amazing company with cash flow and some of the greatest assets in the world, worth over $10 billion.

i started with a very small loan and created a great company, some of the great assets and tremendously low debt. the reason i tell you that, that is the kind of thinking we need in the country to solve many of our problems. [applause] mr. trump: many. because folks, they have all of those cameras, we are right now sitting on something that will explode and it will be a bad situation. we better get rid of debt and we better straighten ourselves out. we have debt on debt, on debt. [applause] mr. trump: and one of the things we will talk about, we will talk about a couple of these things, it affects you very much and we probably have business owners here. we need to get rid of that. we will start with obamacare, that is a killer for you and to the country. it is a killer. obamacare is too expensive for the country to afford and it does not work. for anybody, it does not work. you go 65% increases this year

and people telling me that they have never seen anything like it. it folds, it closes up, obamacare will close up. when you have it, it is no good anyways. we will terminate at and we will end up with a great health care plan that will cost you less money and be much better. [applause] mr. trump: i love these young kids, look at these beautiful kids. they are going crazy. they are talking about obamacare, they do not know what it is, but hopefully they will not need health care for 40 years. but they are still enthusiastic. they do not like obamacare and hopefully they will not need to worry about it. ultimately, they need to worry about the cost, because it is unbearable. the kind of money we are talking about is unbearable. we are going to end, gore, we are going to bring education -- we will protect our second amendment, we are going to do all of the things you heard me saying. all of it.

[applause] mr. trump: here is what i want to talk about, because we are talking about big numbers. $19 trillion, we cannot talk the little stuff. there is going to be cuts of things you will not believe. we will save social security, caught -- cut all of the fraud. you do not mind cutting the fraud out? we are good to take care of the vets and build the military, bigger, stronger than ever before. [applause] mr. trump: -- [chanting u.s.a.] mr. trump: beautiful, great. isn't that great, when you see young people like that? they are going to be very successful. do not forget, they are after our jobs. they have no choice, they need to take it away from us.

you will treat us nicely. that is the next donald trump, bigger and better. not even a contest. good luck, kids. what about the one in the middle, are you going to be the most successful? great. great job. that is what we love to see. my daughter just had a beautiful, beautiful son. [applause] mr. trump: and, ultimately that is what we fight for. that and the grandchildren, we are going to turn this thing around fast. let's talk about a couple of things. we are the police department for

the world and the entire world, many of these places that we are taking care of our very rich. we take care of saudi arabia, they made a billion dollars a day when oil prices were up, now they make a little less. big deal. what? imports -- he is right. you never know, is he on our side? but we take care of saudi arabia. now, nobody is going to mess with saudi arabia because we are watching them. they have a fund so big, nobody has ever seen a fund like that. oil pouring out of the ground, very high quality oil. so they make nothing but money. if it was not for us, they would not be there very long. they are good people, everything is fine. but we are losing a fortune. if we had a person like me, like other people in this room, maybe some. you have some people in the room that would do a good job. and other people who would not do good, like people we have right now. nobody could do worse. so, we're protecting saudi

arabia. and they are paying -- and they are not paying us a fair price. why are we paying rent for our military bases? why do we have any rent? i am not even talking about right, i am talking about really big numbers. japan, great country. they may cars, sell them. we have billions of dollars with japan, they sell us cars and we

sell practically nothing, that is a trade imbalance. one of the great imbalances of all time. los angeles, i see these massive ships come in. this is like nascar. by the way, many drivers of nascar endorse trump, you know that right? the great brian france. they do a great job. thank you. but, they endorse -- brian said, i want to endorse you. he did it in north carolina. good place to endorse. it would not be bad up here, either. but we have it. not only sarah palin, we have rry falwell junior, joe from arizona, sheriff joe. how about sheriff joe? ok? [applause] mr. trump: chris christie has been fantastic. dr. ben carson who has been

amazing. amazing. what a great guy. and we have so many others, congressman now, senator sessions, one of the most respected people in the senate, who ted cruz thought that he had. he kept talking about sessions and we would say, senator sessions, then he announced that he was endorsing donald trump. all of a sudden, ted cruz did not talk about him. a lot of things will happen. one thing we will do is the military bid we are the policeman of the world -- military.

we are the policeman of the world. but these are really wealthy countries. not necessarily powerful, because we protect them. and it is ok. and you know what, when they start paying us and we do trade deals, this country is already turned around. [applause] mr. trump: because we are talking about big dollars. and lying ted cannot do it. in all fairness, number one, they will find out that he is a liar. you know, the evangelicals, they are with me. [applause] mr. trump: the evangelicals -- remember south carolina? that was going to be ted, lying ted was going to win that one easily, because evangelicals -- right? let's get going. i think that you guys are only 28%. go to church. those are the ones. do you go to church on sunday? anytime you can go. do you go? so 68% evangelicals, and we won everything. we won so much.

to show you, ted, did you see it? i am the only one who can beat donald trump. i have beaten him five times. and he is screaming, he wishes that he had the bible in his hands, but he picks up the bible and put it down and he lies. and it says, ibm -- i beat him six times. and i said, yeah, but i have beaten you 22 times. remember the face? [applause] mr. trump: i think we have like 21 or 22 states already, but this is an important one. you need to do me a favor, vote. i will do such a good job for you. do yourselves a favor. [applause] mr. trump: you are probably doing me a favor if you do not vote for me, i will go home and relax.

so many people ask the question. this morning, i was interviewed by a very good radio guy. but some are bad, you know this guy named sykes? listen to the whole interview, everybody who listened to that show would vote for me. do not hang up, take on the enemy. you absolutely take them on. [applause] mr. trump: but, he is not a very talented guy or smart guy. but the guy that interviewed me today, he was a smart guy. and it was national. he interviews me and says, we are on the phone, it is early saturday morning and i said, thank you very much. he said, mr. trump, one final question. what? you are worth a fortune, you have a beautiful family, you can do anything you want, why are

you doing this? and, that question has been asked of me more than any other question, other than student debt. when i am around students, they graduate, they cannot get a job and it is a serious problem. but that question is asked so much, and i said, i have been so lucky in this country and i have done so well and made so much money, and i have enjoyed my life and i have hopefully some really good years left and i want to give back. i just want to give something back. [applause] mr. trump: that is all it is. that is all it is. [applause] mr. trump: -- [chanting trump] mr. trump: thank you. you know, our theme, make america great again -- we are going to make it so great. we always have a problem, the

problem with translation because the press is so dishonest. you have no idea. it is amazing how smart the people are. look, the people get it. they are really dishonest. they will put 1/10 of a sentence in. and worse, the cameras. i love doing television, but then they show a tiny piece of the clip. it is worse than the way that they write. let me tell you what happens. you know, i used to say, "i love television." but the press is very dishonest. now we have a new trade deal called the ttp, trans pacific -- trade transpacific partnership. it is terrible. it is worse than nafta. i guarantee that most people have never read it. all of these countries think it is stunning and they analyze it and we designed it.

first of all, we shouldn't have signed. we should sign with one, two, three, four, not 12, but we should have not done it. it is too complicated, it is a dad deal, ted cruz is totally in favor for it. john kasich, who voted for nafta, is in favor for it. people who said, "you are going to vote for that deal, see you are going to vote for this" tell him he has no choice, so he is going to vote for it. there are people in congress who don't want it. those are people who are being honest. the biggest point of the deal is devaluing monetary policy. china takes the most advantage of the devaluing of currency. they kill us.

this year, we are going to have a $500 billion trade deficit with china. many people say that you're going to be so rich, so fast, but i'm a businessman, i know business, and under me, you are going to be so rich, so fast. [applause] mr. trump: you just don't know how rich you are going to be. we are going from a debtor nation. you have ted cruz who refused to approve any language on devaluation. any language on monetary manipulation. that is where they beat us, folks. they devalued their currency so much, and that we see our dollar holding and going up.

they want our dollar to go up. it sounds good. in the meantime, komatsu is killing caterpillar. look at what is going on with mexico. mexico is taking our businesses, not only for to valuation, but for other problems. politicians don't know what the hell they are doing. so look. we are going to change things, and that is big money, those begins. i have carl icahn and other big businessman. we used political hacks, third-rate political slobs, to negotiate with the smartest people in china, the smartest people in japan, and we have all the cards. people don't realize it. without this big pot of money that is being drained out of your pocket -- and by the way, i have to do this, because i just thought i would have to, but i

want to redo some statistics. so where am i talking about? 20% of the manufacturing jobs have left since 2000. you know or that is? wisconsin -- know where that is? wisconsin. wisconsin chronically legs the rest of the united states in job creation. here's what happened with scott walker, and i could only say this because i couldn't ask for his endorsement. what i did to that poor guy, man. [laughter] [applause] mr. trump: and he is a nice person, but who cares? i don't care if he is nice, i want to make this country rich in good again. ok, so it chronically lags the rest of the country. i am running for president and it is like i'm standing on a motorcycle or something. i've got to tell you, every time i go someplace, bikers everywhere, any bikers and here?

-- bikers in here? the bikers love me. and i have always loved the limousine, but you are great people. we had hundreds close to 1000 bikes, and i wondered what was going on. they are out there waiting for me to give a speech, it was a big group, it was incredible, but there had to be 1000 bikes, mostly harleys, in all fairness, i love harleys. and i by warsaw windows. -- i buy warsaw windows. does anybody know about warsaw windows? i build on pennsylvania avenue and there are great windows in there and i am building another

hotel and it is way ahead of schedule and under budget. there is over 3000% of cost overrun. 3000%. but warsaw windows, i built a building on wall street with warsaw windows. say hello to warsaw windows for me, would you? say hello. honestly, it is one of the best windows made in the world. i said, warsaw, that must be where they make the windows, but we did a full building, on wall street, using 3500 warsaw windows. that is a lot of windows, right? and there are no leaks. we have no leaks. i should say they leaks like hell and get a refund, right? i do that, too, sometimes. anyway, so we have to make our country so strong and what we do

it is with the big stuff and when you look at your area, wisconsin has to keep wages depressed in order to hold onto jobs. that is because of foreign competition. that is good, that is fine for foreign competition, but not for you. people haven't had an effective wage increase in 20 years. you have another candidate that had, like, 300 people, but we have thousands of people outside listening to a speaker. because people are angry and they are disgusted at what is going on. so we have thousands right now, we have people all over this

country that are working hard, and a lot of people are getting part-time jobs. they never had a part-time job in their life, what because of obamacare, it makes sense for the company to make everything part-time. for reporting requirements. so it's terrible. so the new jobs is coming largely from health care, which are very well-paying jobs, it claims, which is about $125 per week. that is not good. wages in manufacturing make it like a low-wage nation in wisconsin, ok? and i've heard this, household income has had a major decline. this is wisconsin. by the way, this is largely country, just a you understand. large, large decline in household income, and that has taken place since the year 2000. so since the year 2000, you have had a decline. wisconsin is just in the middle of the pack. so you have a governor who endorsed him, ted cruz, and

people of the governor, so do i, so he is fighting and fighting and fighting. somebody said if he gives you a call up, i would say, what the hell difference does it make? now let's say i didn't run again, ok? and let's say i wanted something in wisconsin and i call him up, "governor, how are you doing, governor? listen, just out of curiosity, i want to build something in wisconsin." do you think he would be happy about it? i think so, right? i don't know if it's good, i don't know if it's bad, but believe me, it's wrong because it is wrong for the people. people haven't had an increase in wages countrywide, nationwide, the blue collars. the wall street guys, i know the wall street guys so well. they have carried interest provisions, the have provisions that nobody in this room even understands, except one person, i understand it. i understand it and we're going to end it folks, we are going to end it. i am doing well. i don't want to do that well. i really don't want to do that

well. it doesn't matter. some but he said, "how would you do if you didn't run your business?" are you kidding me? this is an opportunity that is so on inspiring to be president of the united states, to make our country so strong again. because we have to make it strong. we have to make it rich. a woman said, "mr. trump, i love you, i am going to vote for you, but please don't say, we are going to make this country rich again, it doesn't sound good." and i said, "you are right, because if we are going to make this country rich again, you're going to have social security cuts under john kasich or ted cruz, but i'm going to give a huge tax increase -- tax cut increase." i spent $35 million or $45 million and the other guys have spent $150 million. i mean, jeb bush spent 145 ilion doll -- 140 $5 million. will anybody ever forgive me for that term? that term is a killer. i am down to the two leftovers. i had 17 people and now we are down to two. isn't it nice when you think of it?

because there are too many regulations. if i say had to shovel it out of the ground. we are going to end all that. we are going to end all that. it is so important. here's the thing. we have got to go out and we have got to vote. let me give you one other item because it is so important. i heard ted cruz today say -- now, i have been a businessman and i made a lot of money, made a lot of money against china, made tremendous deals against china. they can be beaten folks. they can be beaten. in trade. you know, the richest people in china, friends of mine, they say, "donald, we can't believe a we get away with." this is before i was running for president. now they say, "i didn't say that." but they said it. watching television, i say, wow, that is terrible. we were talking about nuclear, and i said, japan should have nuclear.

that is what i said, supposedly. the question that was asked to be recently on television by a very good announcer, a very good guy, he said, "what about nato?" right? in all fairness, i have been entre nous are -- entrepreneur, a very good one, but i know something about nato. here is the problem with nato. it is obsolete. i learned quickly. i knew it was true. it is 68 years old. it was formed to look over the soviet union which doesn't even exist anymore. and i said it is obsolete and we pay too much money. now when i made this statement, thought i read it somewhere, but when i made the statement, it was really the statement that a lot of people said, how would you know a thing like that? so it turns out that things are worse than everybody thought. we're playing -- we are paying
