[applause] we are going to bring back your economy, jobs to connecticut. we are going to bring them back. it is sad what is happening. our jobs are being sent to mexico, all over the place. everyplace but our nation and we are not going to let it happen anymore. we are not going to let it happen anymore. remember that. you heard it here first. with our competitors, the people i run against, i'm still funding. elf funding. i come on my dime. when these other guys come up, it is a different route. just so you understand, they are controlled by the special

interests, lobbyists. they are totally controlled by people who put up their money. no good. we have had it. we've now had it. began in june and i came down the escalator. i talked about illegal immigration. nobody would be talking about that if i did not bring it up. i talke i talked about the wall -- the wall. you better believe it. [cheering] mr. trump: we are going to build a wall. and mexico is going to pay for the wall. ok? i will tell you that.

just like you are standing here, 10,000 people at least, just like you standing here, mexico will pay for the wall. they understand it, you understand it. we are going to have strong borders and we are going to stop drugs from pouring in. in -- i waspouring just backstage at a reporter was telling me how heroin is poisoning arour youth. we are going to stop it. we cannot let it go on like this. and i down the escalator said, you know what, this is something i have to do. running for president -- not easy, not easy. although, i'm enjoying it. we are having a good, good time. i love you, too.

i love this guy. i love this guy whoever he is. trade,alked about immigration, a lot of things. my focus was trade and illegal immigration. what happened is it took off. who would have thought this is happening now? we are leading in the polls by a lot. lyin'ted cruz has gone way down. whoa. he's gone down. kasich was in favor of nafta. nafta has killed connecticut. it has killed hartford. it has killed big parts of our country. you cannot have people and you cannot vote for people who voted in favor of nafta. it is no good. it is no good. so, i started off with illegal immigration and trade.

let me tell you -- let's talk trade because connecticut more than anything else. boy, do you need jobs. we need jobs. we are going to bring jobs back in. we are not going to be the dummies that lose all of our jobs. we are going to be the smart ones. there is one of the dummies. get him out of here. get him out. there is nothing more fun than a trump rally. nothing. get him out. all right. all right. look. do we love our country? it is being devastated by job loss. hartford very well. i love connecticut. i know we have problems. we lost general electric. how do you lose general electric? [booing] i mean, it does not help you folks much. at least we lost them to the united states. one of the few. this does not help you too much, but you cannot lose general electric. i don't know what happened. i will say this -- if i were governor, i would not be losing general electric. that i can tell you, that i can tell you. since 2000, i said give me some stats because i want to have accurate -- this is right out of the book. number of foods that recipients in hartford county, connecticut has

increased by 54,000 people. it is an increase of 150%. we need jobs, when he jobs. e need jobs. the economy of the state of connecticut has experienced absolute devastation having to do with manufacturing. we know that. i did not have to get a report to tell you that. i could have told you that. were 300-7000 00 people employed. now there are 159,000. half.s been cut iit has been cn if i'm elected president, we are bringing our companies back and bringing our jobs back. [applause] -- this iseen a cut

terrible -- a cut of 30% in connecticut manufacturing jobs since only the year 2000. by the way, incidentally, that happens to be the year china entered the world trade. that is really when it came in. you know what? no good. cruz, lyin' ted cruz. do you know who that is? cruz. cheating bycurrency china because what they have theiry devlaluing currency -- they are not supposed to be doing -- it makes it impossible for our companies to compete with chinese companies. we are going to stop it. cruz wants it to go want because somebody probably representing interest in china says this is what we want. let me tell you, folks, i'm

self funding. they are not. they are being funded by companies, countries. they are going to go where the money is, not where you are. remember that, believe me. i have been on the other side of that equation for a long time. i have been a politician -- i hate saying it for nine months, but we are doing pretty well, right? [cheering] the labor force in connecticut today is 10,000 people smaller than 2011. that is a lot of people. we are heading in the wrong direction. i can go on and on. no good. median household income way, way down. folks, we need a change but not an obama change. we don't need hillary clinton who is a disaster.

agree twice. i agree there. i'm no fan of bernie sanders. i agree on two things -- hillary cannot do it. i agree with him on something very important. he feels foreign trade deals are a disaster. he cannot do anything about it. he does not understand. basically, he is a communist. what the heck? every going to have are we going to have a communist? the system is rigged. the top republicans said donald, can you stop saying that? i'm telling the truth, i don't care. we are changing the system. all of these bosses have picked delegates -- i'm leaving by hundreds with delegates. i'm leading by millions with votes. hillary clinton said i have more votes than trump.

i have been running against 17 people. she is running against one, ok? if i was running against four or five, i would have millions of more votes than hillary clinton. what is happening to the republican party is amazing because millions and millions of people are coming in that did not come in four years ago with romney who let us down. he choked. he choked. he was gagging. we have a lot of athletes. the gag? he was gagging. we have millions of people right coming intos more the republican party. 70%. in terms of votes, the democrats are down 35%. think of it. the republicans wanted to play cute. if i don't make it, you were going to have billions of people people who areons of not going to vote because they are tired of the republicans, the politicians. all talk, no action. they have totally had it. you can have millions of people that are not going to vote and hopefully that is all. they are very, very angry and disenfranchised. we have a rigged system on top of it. despite that, we can get there before the convention. i think we do. [cheering] business and great i filed my papers. these are the most dishonest human beings you will ever meet, the reporters.

[booing] the one thing i like about the protesters, i call them agitators because most of them are paid. we don't have any in hartford, -- ipple say thii will say this will put them in different corners because the only time the cameras will show these massive crowds, the only time is when there is trouble. meaning a little bit of a protest the raises their hand and says something. i want to tell you that. they don't tell the story. they don't tell the story.

[booing] you know, it is funny. crowds.e the biggest last night or the night before, bernie sanders in new york, they said he has 27,000. believe me, that was not 27. when trump has a crowd, they will say, we are here with donald trump. they don't report what is going on. look, some are honest, but they don't report the kind of crowds -- they don't record, report it. bernie always has big crowds. i have much bigger crowd than he does. they don't want to report it. on the a movement going likes of which nobody has ever seen in this country. [chanting "usa"] people are fed up. they are disgusted. they are disgusted with obamacare. they are disgusted with every single thing that is happening to us in our country. we don't win anymore. we lose that every single facet. get him out of here. out. out. [cheering] so, if you look at what is happening to us from an economic standpoint, we have gross domestic product which is practically zero. if china had practically zero, they would have a revolution. china goes down to 7%, 8% and it is a big deal and there is turmoil. we are practically at zero, meaning we have nothing going. --n i come up to hartford when i go up to new york state and i look at all of those empty buildings that used to have jobs, workers, great companies and those companies have left for mexico and other places -- when i see the kind of business that china is taking out --

china has had 5 -- think of it. $505 billion -- a deficit. we have a deficit with mexico of $58 billion. we have a massive deficit with japan and vietnam and every single country virtually that we do business with. we have a in competent or crooked people making deals. we are not going to take it anymore, folks. it is over, it is over. you know -- get him out. you know the biggest problem with these protesters is us. may havthey have nothing. the signs are beautifully manufactured and handed to them and they say why are you here? why are you here? the press was saying. the person said i don't know. i was told to be. why are you protesting against trump? i think so, yeah. this is such a con job being placed on the american public. it is a total and complete con job. the worst is this -- they have no voice -- they raise their voice. don't keep pointing to them because we make more noise than they do. there is no problem. up making the noise. the poor person does not even

know why they are there. that don't have a clue. here is the story -- we are going to bring jobs back to our country. we are going to have a strong border. we are not going to let carrier air-conditioning moved to mexico, make air-conditioning, fire people that were there for years and years. i'm a big buyer of carrier products. i will not buy them anymore. we are not going to let carrier moved to mexico. don't make any noise, folks. that is ok. just nice and easy. nice and easy. this the greatest place on earth to be right here? when i first started this -- i used to get angry at the protesters. i would say get him out of here! and then the press would say it was horrible the way mr. trump behaved. he was so mean and nasty. the next day we had a protest and i said please get him out. you know what happened? they said he is getting weaker. that was no good either. get him out. look at those cameras the way they are all turned. look at those cameras. oh, they are so dishonest. so dishonest. get him out. when these guys -- they don't even show it -- but when they show it, they say we don't really know why we are here. i actually feel sorry. bring back what? ok. i won't say that. so, folks, you're going to be voting very soon. very soon. me. but, ben carson during the election in iowa -- during the election, he spread the word that ben carson had left the race any told everybody's come vote for him. right after the election, he apologized and said he did not know anything about it. he is lyin' ted, but he is going like this. he is dropping like a rock in the polls. you know, when he goes back in the polls, he is like a basket case. watch what happens. watch how badly we beat him and we are going to have a lot of fun doing it, folks. -- i love being with you. i have lived in this state and i know this date and i have some of the greatest friends from the state. a lot of great people in hartford.

except insurance companies charge me too much money which i hate. our country does not win anymore. we don't win with military, on the borders, health care, we don't win with our second amendment which by the way will be 100% protected by me. [cheering] what?ow we are going to start winning. when you cast your vote in a short period of time -- you have to promise me. does everybody promise? we are going to vote for trump. and if you are not going to vote for trump, don't bother going. we are going to turn our country around. you were going to look back in two years, four years, 20 years -- we will look at your family and friends and say that was the greatest vote i have ever cast.

[applause] don't support hillary because she is a woman. we support hillary because she is the best candidate for the job and will make the best president of the united states. we all love her and respect her. every member of congress from new york state, which i am one, every democratic member of congress has endorsed hillary clinton for president of the united states because we worked with hillary. we worked with her in washington when she was are senator in new york for eight years. she brought millions upon millions of dollars home to new york. she was one of the most hard-working and effective members of the senate. she is someone who has made us proud.

we want to take hillary's effectiveness to the state of new york and use it for all of the united states. i know with hillary clinton we will have one of the best presidents the united states has ever had in the history of the country. debate last night and i thought hillary was terrific. didn't you? [applause] turn out, turne out. please make sure you not only vote but that you bring your spouse, your brothers and sisters. bring your friends, neighbors. we have to make sure new york goes strongly for hillary and that will happen if you all go out and do that. now, one last thing before i have a special introduction. those of my friends, the all albanian americant mania friends know what happened in 1999. there was genocide against the albanian people. we know what is happening with the serbs. they were moving along and doing

terrible things in the balkans. kosovo was about to get hit. we don't know what would have happened. people would have been killed, perhaps hundreds of thousands of people. we know people were driven from their homes and the albanian community looked for the world to help. for a while, it appeared nobody was going to be there to help, but there was one person who was there to help and one person who made the difference for the nation o. that person was president of the united states, president bill clinton. [applause] now, you know, i always joke and say how proud i am that they named a street after me in the city, but in the main city, the capital city they very fittingly named a street after president

clinton. there was a great street, the biggest street which is president bill clinton's street along with a terrific statue. when you see president clinton, you will see he is much better looking than at statue. [applause] but, when i spoke to the president during this terrible period in 1999, i remember one thing the president said to me. i said we cannot abandon these people and the president looked at me and said do not worry. we are not abandoning them. when he said that to me, i went home and i rested comfortably because i knew then he would not allow genocide to happen once again in the continent of europe. when you look at people who saved albanians, look no further than president bill clinton. when you look for a person who

really cares about people, who made a difference to people, there would not be an in the independent nation without president bill clinton. i know how hard he worked. it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you a wonderful, wonderful president of the united states -- i want to tell you before he comes out that hillary clinton will do the same types of things that president bill clinton did when it comes to the balkans, to caring about people, when it comes to making sure lives are saved. it is my great pleasure to introduce to all of you the person we have all been waiting for, our wonderful president bill clinton. i've been living in new york for many years and campaigning for longer. i thought i knew more about new york than the average new yorker, much less the average american. i am never been to this campus before. it is so beautiful. i think it is a wonderful thing. [applause] i thank you. i want to first thank the members of the albanian community that are here, who have supported me in the past and further memories of what we try to do. but, i also want to say that hillary was there with me, she visited a refugee camp in macedonia. she tried to protect and promote

albanianso ou and make sure they were protected and go home safely as soon as possible. for her efforts, she got all albanian's highest award, the mother teresa award. [applause] the second thing i want to say is that you look around the catholic institution of higher education with an overrepresentation of albanians that areians predominantly muslims and a great smattering of american jews and then people who come from -- look at the students here. conveningike we're

the united nations. [applause] why am i saying this? because of what to start with this point -- we live in an interdependent world. hear your president talk about this -- he made it part of the future. walls yout all the want around america, not just across the texas border with mexico. you can put one across the border with canada. erect seawalls in the atlantic and pacific. . we will still beandin interdependent because of social media. there is no place for us to hide and this is the model of the future that i want for the young people nuts is in the united

states but all over the world. look at this room. look at this room. [applause] one who walk through this door today was asked to check your place at the door. check your race at the door. check your politics of the door. everywhere in the world people are working together for inclusive economic opportunities, inclusive social policy which is a fancy way of saying we love our differences. did makes life more interesting but our common humanity is the most important thing but if we ever forget it we will turn into stupid idiots doing destructive things. that -- to do that, we have to govern and work together. in that debate last night, i saw

a lot of interesting things but after the debate, cnn had a couple of hundred of people from new york. there were only nine undecided people. they found somebody that switched. whenever i hear that, i get so nervous. oh, god. they go up to this man school. who appeared to be in his late 30's maybe. it was a new york city resident, and african-american. the guy set are you the person who switched and he said yes. he said i was not for hillary went i came here but i am now because i thought her opponent was more focused on remit a getting the past and she was more interested in building the future and that is what we ought to do is americans.

[applause] look, saving koso from andom a genocide having our allies were quickly was important to me because i worked for two and half years to do the same thing for the bosnian muslims. i had enormous support. everybody from the pope to the king of saudi arabia. still, our allies in europe were reluctant. i just celebrated the 20th anniversary -- observed at the beginning and end of the bosnian conflict and the peace process triggered by the slaughter. this towant to just say sort of make real what i said

about inclusive economics and societies and politics. the 20thwe celebrated anniversary of the killing which conflict andnian started the peace process, we did it in this old building where a lot of the young boys were killed. , 36 years old, stood up and said this -- i want you to think about it when we yell at her neighbors and fellow americans. accidentalid i'm the survivor. in my familymale who survived. i'm really member of my class at school who survived at 16. i have no idea why they did not

find me in the woods. i am it. the accidental survivor. so, he said i thought i should try to do something useful with my life as if there was some reason that i had survived. and we have to begin again. the 39-year-old prime minister of serbia to come because he was trying to get serbia to move away from their dark past and take a different future. at first, the people do not know what to do. lost his wants hi father and brothers. he is talking like nelson mandela and he is only 36.

he said you should make them feel welcome. you think it was not risky for them to come down? do you think he was not afraid about what the people did? he came. we had to make a new beginning. that is what i want to say to all of you. look at all of these people all around the world. the only thing that matters is our differences. the only thing that matters is whether we can get our crowd to stop thinking so we can demonize their crowd. the future belongs to people who continually expand the definition of us and shrink the definition of them. [applause] -- theeople that are ,irst event we did in bronx there wereiaz said three presidents who came here when i was a kid. president carter came in the

1970's and showed the poorest parts of the bronx. president reagan came here in the 1980's and said this shows you what a mess the government makes of banks. things. then i showed up and it looks like the future to me. let's get it on. [applause] the reason that i think hillary sheld be president is one, has the best ideas for shared prosperity and societies and a political future. world that isbled more divided than it used to be, she has a proven record and the best ability to make sure we try to stop all of these problems from ripping europe and the middle east and the rest of the world apart so that it does not

also, for americans, dragged down the economic recovery we have just started. thecannot divide clearly job of the next president into domestic and foreign policy. look around this room. best i'm doing. you can do that. you have to be able to relate to and build the world as well as deal with the challenges at home. in 45 years of trying to help people live their dreams and solve their problems, of all the people i have ever worked with, she is the best change maker. there is a difference of talking about change and making it. i think that is important. [applause] reason -- i told hillary the other day that your

stronger supporters are the people who know you best and have worked with you longest. that is a pretty good recommendation. that is a very significant difference in this race. not everything that sounds good is good. this country has proved over a very long time that we have a continuing ability to reinvent ourselves, to make every new change and challenge our friend, not our enemy. the real reason there is so much anxiety today is that whenever there is a massive financial crash like the world and the in 2008, no nation has recovered from it fully for 400 years in less than 10 years. not once. we got the jobs back in 7.5 years but there is still

inequality because we have not gotten wage increases and income increases back. the fact that college in many places and other training programs have kept people competitive and aggravated by the fact we have not made the investments we need to modernize oour infrastructure. flint is not the only place with leaded pipes. newou tore up the pipes, would give every child a healthy future. we should do that. [applause] complicated by the fact to many corporations in america today are spending 80% to 90% of the revenues, profits and giving it to their shareholders and their chief top

executives instead of to the workers in the places they work. question about all of this is what will you do about it? she was the first candidate to say what we need to do now, we have solved the problem that caused the last crash. the dodd-frank bill which president obama signed is working. there are 50,000 people fewer working in wall street today than before the crash. frontticle on the page of the wall street journal says these banks are making more conventional lows and fewer gambles. it is working. we just have to keep working it. the big problem today is that any company which sells shares to the general public is vulnerable to being dominated and distorted by these shareholders who want all of their money and the profit back

in a year and a day. they are trying to pressure company after company after company to give 80% to 90% of the money to the shareholders and the top managers the they get paid based on the share price. that is wrong. the history of american business and business law was very different until recently. until recently, corporations new they had equal response abilities to their customers, communities and shareholders. the companies that live by that rule still do better. they still do better. they are now companies called b corp to make a commitment to a sustainable balanced future. sustainable with the environment, with their community, with their employees.

good for their customers and good for their shareholders. ,ver any five-year period those companies do better. we are being held back by one of the primary drivers of inequality that nobody has asked about yet. orderlythe demand for profits and capitalism where nobody thinks he can build a great business. you take care of the people who work for you. [applause] so, that is a good thing. is other thing we need to do replenished workforce in our future which is why hillary has been such a strong advocate of immigration reform. does not matter where you can hear from.

me here from. you are 11.5 million undocumented people in this country. the secession by the leading candidate on the other side, that he is going to send everybody home is not only an ethical, it is the dumbest economic idea i've ever heard of min my life. [applause] hillary said let's not do that. that support with the president schoolave the kids in and leave their parents alone and pass immigration reform and put people on a path to citizenship that does not have them jumping ahead of people who waited in line according to the rules, that lets them know they are welcome in america as long as they are law-abiding, love their kids and try to make a positive contribution to this country. [applause] i'm telling you one of the --

if i were 25 again, and what i like to be. [laughter] had were 25 again and i this magical experience where somebody brings me one of these magic lamps and a genie comes out and says i will give you one wish, here it is. you can decide where you want to live 25 years from now, but you must decide right now. if at 205i had known what i now know, i would take the united states in a heartbeat because of you. look at this picture. there is no place in the world where you can have in a catholic university an event organized by anian americans and invite all the students and look like you are at the u.n. no place else.

[applause] is this isell you our future. you. we need immigration reform. it is one of the big differences -- we have a chance to get it in peopled millions of would be living more productive lives today if we had adopted it then. bush was notrge w. afraid of immigrants. divinenot trying to america by their immigration he said, if you pass this bill, i will sign it. there is only one person running for president, left. and that is hillary, it is the right thing to do then, it is the right thing to do now.

[applause] so i hope you will think about that. let me say a word about access to higher education. that was a pretty good part of the debate last night. but i am not sure everybody fully understands what happened. serve,had the honor to we had the biggest college aid program since the g.i. bill. everybody got a 20% tax credit for anything in higher education, after the first two years, we gave tuition aid. within five years, the benefits were gone from inflation. we had the first program to allow people to pay loans back as a percent of their income. but it only went to colleges and universities that issued loans and wanted to do that.

when president obama came in he had an even bigger program, and all loans carried the option of paying it back as a percent of your income. pretty soon come of it benefits of that evaporated. why? because the cost of higher education all over america kept going up. for the public schools, the governments contribution went down because of the crash, a politics of many state legislatures, and the need to fund growing public school populations. been talking has about it. here is why i think hillary's program is the best. number one, she wants to make it possible for aid to flow to students, not just in public institutions of higher education. ones thatin private have a lot of first or second

generation immigrants, african-americans, hispanics, working people on modest incomes, with a reasonable tuition and high graduation rates. you should include the private like this one. that is an important difference. [applause] she also believed those who need free tuition should get it. people with a lower incomes should get a much bigger increase from the pell grants, so they provide supplies and living expenses. [applause] i have a feeling it is about to get less popular. she believes that every school should have a huge allocation of it work-study positions so anybody who needs more money should get 10 hours a week of work-study opportunities. [applause] important, its is about the only thing the federal government can do to

help colleges and universities hold their costs down. when you have a lot of students doing work-study, that helps. impact,he highest lowest cost private schools is in kentucky. 100% of the people on financial aid, one hundred percent work in the schools. it was added before the civil war in kentucky, fully open to women and to african-americans, way back in 1855. they still have the same model, it is democracy, empowering students to get their education and minimize cost and maximize the quality of education. we need a plan to do that for everybody. she does not favor paying the tuition of higher income people because when higher income people pay higher taxes, you should use the money to invest in new infrastructure, new clean energy, new jobs that will be

created for middle-class people when they get their education. i think it is the better argument. i also think it is unrealistic that one third of the cost will be deferred by state legislatures that have run college,teady money on and run in favor of cutting taxes. so, we don't want to have a college loan program that only helps people who are lucky enough to live in states that a, b,e democratic members, and are not broke. we are celebrating that they finally have enough money to increase funding for the state university. i pat them on the back, i think that. them to cometo for up with a third of the cost of

free tuition for every single citizen. here is a more important thing. i don't know how many times i have heard this story, but the other night i was over seeing my granddaughter. hillary were out campaigning, so i went to see my son-in-law, and we were babysitting. on the way home, i did what i tried to do often in other towns. i stopped at a little coffee shop. was ag african-american serving coffee, it is only a young person serving coffee. i had a conversation with her i try to have everywhere. how long have you had this job? five years, on and off. what is off? she smiled. when i am going to college. i said, what is on?

said when i have to come here and work to pay my debts off so i can hope will he go back to college. it is already five years, and she has not gotten a degree. are you living at home? my mother does not make enough to help me, but at least i have free rent, otherwise i would have bigger debt. that is a big story in america, does anybody know anyone like that? [applause] that is a big story in america. so we talked about it. later, i went to buy a pair of jeans from a lady in new york that i have done business with over the years. i knew she had a son who graduated from one of the cities colleges. i said, how is your son doing? a goode is going to get job, i am so proud of him. i said, does he have any student that?

what is the interest rate? 9%. i said, do you have a home mortgage? she said, sure i do. did you refinance it? of course i did. what is yours? less than 4%. this is crazy, a college loan is the only loan in the united states that you cannot refinance. it did you know that? every other type of loan you can refinance. we need to let everybody refinance. [applause] if you can do just that, just if we did just about overnight, 25 million young americans would save an average of more than $2000 a piece of just by refinancing. since a college education, no less than a home is a lifetime asset, and you can get a 20-30 year mortgage on your

home, she proposes to give college students the option, no matter how much they borrow from whatever source, the option to turn it into a mortgage. 20 years, at a fixed rate, that never, never can exceed more than 10% of your after-tax income. maybe you went to medical school, think what that would mean. you can move out of your parents house. [applause] a lower paying job that you love better because the payments would go down with the salary. you could go to the bank and borrow money to start a small wouldss, and your debt not count against your credit score because it will be a fixed percentage of your income, and if you start a business and do not make any money the first year, it is ok because your payment would go down.

this could liberate millions of people to contribute to our economy, so we can reduce inequality and all right together. it would be a very big thing to do. [applause] the last thing i want to say is this, i don't want to keep you in, it is a beautiful day. end, being president is a doing job. there is a reason it is called the chief executive. best doer i have ever known, and she was when i first met her. look, i sympathize with these young people who are excited about being told there is one explanation for the misery of america, and that is the greed of the wall street banks. but the truth is, wall street is smaller, and new york city is growing like crazy, led by the bronx and brookland and queens,

and entrepreneurs in new york and manhattan that are diversifying the income. right? so, what are we going to do about this? -- alwaysthat all struck me about hillary, she would say, what am i going to do? what am i going to do? the only thing that disappointed me about the debate, was the sneering reference her opponent may two the award she won in the south. [laughter] we know how conservative they are. but democrats need to win torida and north carolina get elected, and they are highly diverse. and she won a victory there. she won in mississippi, partly mayor inhey have a jacksonville, and african-american guy who is the

embodiment of the future greed -- the embodiment of the future. she won the majority of the boat because when she was a young woman, she went to alabama for the children's defense fund to help shut down private, segregated academies. [applause] guts toa lot of dots -- go in and pose as a racist mother to prove that it was ripping off taxpayers and violating the law. and she did it, and where i come from, the proof is in the putting, and there is a difference between talk and do, and she is a doer. [applause] so, that is what i would say.

she worked on juvenile justice reform and south carolina, that is why she got a big boat. she did not want african-american teenagers kept in jail in years with adults. and have their lives ruined. i remember one time i was running for office, and i asked a guy if he was tired of me because i had been governor for 10 years or and he said no, but most of my friends are. my feelings were hurt and i said, don't they think i did a good job? do, but you got a paycheck every two weeks, didn't you? in other words, that is what you are hired to do. for theou are running most important job of the country, your past performance is performed -- important. doer her whole life.

she has a history of helping new york and all their burrows. she stunned the local press in -- i thought you were republicans? the farmer said, i thought i was, too. how can you be for her? he said look, everyone sounds good at election time. all i know, i have been doing this for a long time. and she is the only official at her level who has ever actually done anything for our family farmers. i am for her. [applause] that is what i want to say to you. when she represented you in the senate, a young man from the pentagon came up to me when i was visiting the congress one day, long after i left office.

he said, you ought to know over at the pentagon, your wife does not agree with us all the time, we know she is the first one from new york, but we do know she knows more about our business, and cares more about our people than any member of congress in either party. she always chooses astray, never takes a cheap shot, even when she disagrees with us, she works with us. you ought to be proud of that. i will never forget it, as long as i live. you, to support her, because she has the best ideas. maybe the only person left in either party capable of walking into the cauldron of what is going on in the world, and andng good things happen, minimizing the prospect of bad things, and making good things happen at home.

when it is all said and done and you look at all of this wonderful diversity, you think what you really want. in our family, we all believe that if you ask hillary this question, our daughter this question, how do you measure when you succeed a public service? we all believe there are only three things that matter. for people that were with you when you started and quick, do have aand young children brighter future, and are we coming together instead of being torn apart? if you can say yes to those three questions, it is a job well done. a life well lived, and a future secured. if you want to answer yes, i implore you to go out and vote for hillary on tuesday. thank you very much.
