little lucky but it was still very bad. so to everybody, our thoughts and prayers are with you. thank you. due to the hurricane, voter registration has been extended. did you hear about this? through tomorrow. so register. you've got to go and register or we've really -- you know, we're doing something that's incredible. it's a movement. but if we don't win, all it is is a little asterisk in history. there's never been anything like this. go and register. make sure you get out and vote. november 28. if you've already registered, request an absentee ballot today and vote really early. we've got to win. the hillary clinton documents released today by wikileaks make more clear than ever just how much is at stake in this election. so much corruption.
7:06 am
this election will determine whether we remain a free country in the truest sense of the word or we become a corrupt banana republic controlled by large donors and foreign governments. the election of hillary clinton would lead to the destruction of our country. believe me. it will lead to the destruction of our country. today we learned, amazingly, that the department of justice fed information to the clinton campaign about the email investigation so that the campaign could be prepared to cover up her crime. what is going on? rudy giuliani said it. this is collusion and corruption of the highest order and is one more reason why i ask my
7:07 am
attorney general, i will ask, to appoint a special prosecutor. [applause] we have to investigate hillary clinton and we have to investigate the investigation, this was a disgrace. this was a disgrace. hillary bleached and deleted 33,000 emails after congressional subpoenas. can you imagine that? they got a subpoena from the united states congress and then they deleted everything. if you did that in private life you'd go to jail. and then destroyed her phones, some with a hammer, boom, anybody destroy your phones before with a hammer? anybody? no? anybody? no? and people have gone to jail for doing far less.
7:08 am
she also lost, think of this, she was secretary of state, lost as much as $6 billion in taxpayer money while she was running secretary of state. now some people say it was misplaced. oh, billions of dollars misplaced. these wikileaks emails confirm what those of us here today have known all along. hillary clinton is the vessel of corrupt, global establishment that's raiding our country and surrendering the sovereignty of our nation. this criminal government cartel doesn't recognize borders but believes in global government, unlimited immigration, and rule by corporation. it also believes in no borders, just come on, folks, come on in. speaking in secret to a foreign bank, again, just revealed, hillary clinton said, my dream
7:09 am
is a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders. well, there go the rest of your businesses and there goes your country, folks. she doesn't say that. behind closed doors, when she thought no one was listen, she -- no one was listening, she pledged to dissolve the boarders of the united states of america. no borders. you don't have borders, we don't have a country. wiki leaks has given us a look into the secret corridors of power where we see a secretary of state announcing her desire to end forever the american independence that our founders gave to us and wanted us to have. american soldiers have fought and died to win and keep america's freedom and now hillary clinton wants to surrender that freedom to these open borders, open trade and a world government. and by the way, we want a
7:10 am
government for the united states. we're very happy with it. we're very happy wit. [applause] crooked hillary is so radical on immigration that as secretary of state she refused to make foreign countries take back their criminal aliens. we have them all over the place. she didn't want to bring them back. bring them back they are countries are smart, they don't want them. we say, ok, we'll take them. and you look at crime and wonder why. did you know, it was just announced that murder is the highest it's been in our country in 45 years. you've heard that, right? one such killer who was set free on hillary's watch went to a jail, came out, and went on to kill a beautiful young american girl named casie chadwick. people have heard that name. beautiful, wonderful person. the killer who had already been
7:11 am
convicted for shooting a girl in the head should have been sent home. instead, he was set free and stabbed casie in the face and neck 15 times violently and stuffed her body in a closet. the corrupt establishment in washington wants to surrender america's borders, even as they send our troops overseas to protect the borders of foreign countries. we're protecting the borders of foreign countries but not our borders. a trump administration will secure control, defend and protect the borders of the united states. [applause] we are going to protect. and the border patrol agents just gave us, as you know, their endorsement. never did it before. i.c.e. gave us their endorsement. sheriff joe from arizona just gave us his endorsement.
7:12 am
even chelsea clinton, the wikileaks email showed, expressed serious concerns about conflicts of interest at the clinton foundation and the state department. during a recent trip to florida, i had a chance to spend some time with the incredible residents of little haiti. the haitian community has contributed so much to this country and to this state. i also learned from them firsthand how much they despise the clintons for what they did to the people of haiti. new emails revealed today by abc news show that during the deadly earthquake in haiti, which killed over 150,000 people at least, the clintons couldn't stop cashing in. as people were dying in haiti, clinton insiders were separating out requests from friends of bill or william jefferson clinton v.i.p.'s, so their
7:13 am
business interests or contracts would receive very special treatment. people who were labeled not friends of bill were placed very much on the sideline. in their biggest project, the clintons used $400 million in aid and u.s. taxpayer funds to build what amounted to a massive sweat shop. and guess who set it up? sheryl mills, hillary's chief of staff, who helped destroy her email, and then got immunity from the f.b.i. that included the destruction of her computer. never been anything. folk, there's never been anything like this. there's never been what's gone on here with the email destruction, with the deletion of thousands and thousands, and last week, it was revealed that two boxes of emails and information were missing. they were missing.
7:14 am
they're gone. the company that benefited from mills' actions then invest in a company that put a will the of money in a company owned by sheryl mills. they invested. today as haiti's death toll from hurricane matthew is on the rise, we should never forget how bill an hillary clinton handled haiti the last time out. to all our friends in haiti and to all of our friends in little haiti who are so amazing your , day of justice is coming and it arrives on november 8. we've got to do this. got to do it. [applause] we've got to do it. not only have the clintons ripped off haiti, but the new emails show members of the clinton team attacking catholics. while this is offensive it's just the latest evidence of the hatred that the clinton campaign
7:15 am
has, really for everyday americans and you see it. and you see so much from these wikileaks. you see so much. so much. we've all read the reports and heard the stories about how disrespectfully she treats law enforcement. you've seen it. how disrespectful she is to the secret service and many others in uniform, even there to protect her. and by the way, these are weapon-carrying people. they carry weapons. hillary clinton wants to really dismantle our second amendment, you know. so maybe she should start with her security people not carrying weapons. does that make sense to you? [applause] maybe. maybe she should. she even smeared all america's police officers as essentially racist. you heard that recently. essentially racist. and by the way, i want to give a shoutout and salute to our great
7:16 am
people of law enforcement, our police. they've done an amazing job. i'm proud of the fact that i've always treated the working people of this country with dignity and respect, especially our military and law enforcement personnel. these are amazing people. the wikileaks emails show that hillary's staff even has given up secret notes on when she needs to smile. it's all a phony deal with her. did everybody see the debate? right? [applause] gotten good reviews. good reviews. gotten good reviews. we'll see what happens. but pat buchanan said the greatest of any presidential debate, the greatest performance, thank you very much, folks, thank you. and we had eight online polls and every one of those at the --
7:17 am
every one of those, "time" magazine, drudge, and every one of them said we won by a massive margin. let's hope it all boils down, let's hope it all boils down to winning on november 8. otherwise, honestly, i've wasted my time, you've wasted your time, i will have spent over $100 million on running for office. a lot of money. a lot of money. that's not the thing. if i don't win, it will be the single greatest waste of time, energy, and money, and you know, somebody told me recently a pundit, said, does it matter whether you win or lose? what we've done, what i've done, has never been duplicated. bernie sanders was second, his crowds are tiny. did you see hillary clinton today? she had this little crowd. they said, it's the biggest crowd. she had nothing.
7:18 am
and they're talking on television because the media is rigged. let me tell you. [applause] the best thing she's got going, my opinion, the only thing she's got going is the rigged media. that's -- she's got nothing going. can you imagine working with her for four more years? the last thing we need, the last thing we need is another four years of barack obama. we don't need that, believe me. that's what we're going to get if we get her. but the emails also show yet again that the d.n.c., democratic national committee, rigged the democratic election. the primary process. to take it away from bernie and give it to hillary clinton. the d.n.c. vice chair was caught feeding information about bernie sanders' plans to the clinton campaign.
7:19 am
you're not supposed to do that. supposed to be -- if i was bernie, i wouldn't too happy after watching what came out today in wikileaks. bernie was used. in all fairness, bernie made a deal with the devil and he made a big mistake. he could have gone down as something very important in american history when he made that deal, he sold out. he sold out. and very, very bad. but to all the bernie voters out there, don't vote for a wall street sellout like hillary clinton. and remember this, the one thing i had in mind, the one thing we had in common, with crooked hillary, was borders. the borders are much stronger, that's why i have all the endorsements from everybody on the borders. but bernie knew that we were getting ripped off on trade and he was right. except my numbers are much different. we're going to redo it. we're going to have unbelievable
7:20 am
trade deals. we're going to make unbelievable deals. to the bernie sanders people, you got sold out but remember this, i'm much stronger on trade. so much stronger on trade, than bernie. and trade was a big deal. because he was right. we are getting sold out. our jobs are being lost, our jobs are being taken. we're being sold out. a vote for hillary is a vote for more reckless foreign invasion, more wall street cheating, more terrible trade deals, and as confirmed just today by wikileaks, hillary also wants to cut medicare and social security. she wants to do that. a vote for trump is a vote for america first. and it's a vote to protect medicare and social security. believe me, we're going to protect our medicare, we're going to protect our social security.
7:21 am
she's not going to do it. she's also going to raise your taxes, we're going to low you are your taxes. minor, minor thing. but just remember. wikileaks also shows something i've been warning everybody, everybody about for a long time. the media is simply an extension of hillary clinton's campaign. it's just one more way that the system is rigged. a big way, really a big way. reporters who work for these outlets like "the washington post" or "new york times" may think of themselves as journalists but they're actually just cogs in a corporate political machine. the dishonesty of "the new york times" is unbelievable. the dishonesty of "the
7:22 am
washington post" is unbelievable. the dishonesty of all of those cameras, so many of them, not all of them, is unbelievable. the emails show "the new york times," "the boston globe," univision, a third rate reporter named john harwood, what a third rate reporter that one is he did the debate and made a fool of himself, he's with cnbc, doing favors for the clintons. the reporters praising the clintons. why? you saw hillary on the debate stage, do you think that's worthy? do you think that's what the country is all about? "the new york times" even gave clinton veto power over her quote in a major story. i've never heard about that. i'd like to have veto power when they misquote me all the time. it's actually corruption. the emails also show that
7:23 am
hillary was given the cnn town hall questions before her big debate against bernie sanders. is that possible? donna brazil, the dnc vice chair emailed from time to time i get questions in advance, she said. oh, that's fair. do you think that's fair to bernie? i'm starting to feel -- really, aren't we starting to feel sorry for bernie sanders? a little bit, right? the media can't report on the establishment because the media largely is the establishment. and the corrupt media is teamed up against you, the american people. and i used to get great press until i said i'm running. then they said, he's running. we don't want him to run. but i used to get -- who got better press than me? i got great press. a lot of press. my wife said the other day, you
7:24 am
used to get such great press. now every single story is a slant. i will tell you what, it's libelous, it's slanderous, it's horrible, it's really unfair, but we're going to beat the system. we're going to beat the system. [applause] we're going to break up the failed establishment, end the chronic corruption and create a new and bright american future. i didn't need to do this. folk, i didn't need to do this. but we have to do it. and we have the greatest people on earth. the people of our country, these are the greatest people on earth. i've gotten to know so many of them. our veterans are so incredible, they're not being taken care of. our military, our police. we have the greatest people on earth. hillary clinton, the candidate of the past, today dredged up al gore. did you see him? anybody see him? didn't he say he was the founder of the internet? he wasn't.
7:25 am
to campaign with her in florida. al gore wants to eliminate the combustion engine, essentially. and flies around the world on jets. and pushes plans that would help create china, make it stronger. they make so much of our product. they make so much -- they make so many of our big windmills and you know when they're making them, that steel and all that stuff they talk about going up into the air, it's got to go up into the air, maybe we should be making them instead of china, germany, and other places. the obama-clinton e.p.a. spent billions on failed climate projects instead of repairing water infrastructure in cities like flint. remember flint? what a shame. my administration will address important environmental priorities like the everglades, and ensure quality water all across america, including the
7:26 am
fixing of water problems like lake okeechobee. it's amazing. you know, lake okeechobee, they're always letting the water out. ever notice we always have drought? they're always letting the water out. keep it in, we won't have so many droughts. but lake okeechobee, lots of things have happened. hillary receives millions of dollars from donors who want to shut down american energy altogether. radical activists like tom stire promised to spend millions this election to get clinton and democrats like her elected. in return, clinton wants to shut down energy production across the united states. wait until you see your energy bill. we're going to put the miners and the steelworkers of our country back to work. we're going to do it. hillary clinton and al gore support the paris deal which will cost america over $5
7:27 am
trillion and cause florida electricity rates to skyrocket over the years. skyrocket. think of it. we're going to spend $5 trillion. and you know what's going to happen? we're going to become noncompetitive with other countries. other countries are eating our lunch right now. we're going to become noncompetitive. the paris dole also allows china, the world's largest polluter by far, to increase emissions for more than a dozen years while the united states makes drastic cuts immediately, right now. what's that all about? why aren't we going it together? who negotiates our deals? it's one more way the clintons have surrendered american prosperity to china and so many other countries. we are led by people that are grossly incompetent, folk. they're grossly incompetent. how about the $400 million in cash they gave iran that turned out to be $1.7 billion.
7:28 am
you know what $1.7 billion is? it's like this stage loaded up with money. nobody has ever seen it. can you imagine these people in iran when they see the money? can you believe this? boy, did we hit the jackpot. three years ago, before we made them rich, as a country they were ready to go. but we made them rich. we made them rich. how about the 800 people ready for deportation, remember two weeks ago, ready for deportation, they made a mistake, they all became united states citizens, right? and these were people that were not exactly too good. that's why they were being deported. but the 800 turned out to be wrong. somebody said trump was wrong on the number. i said, well, man, here we go. was it 400? was it 799? no, i guess it was 1,700, 1,800, they said i was wrong because i was low.
7:29 am
the whole thing is crazy. so i said, you know what, that's ok, just reverse the process, you can deport them. they said that wouldn't be constitutional. folks, folks, we're being led by st stupid people. we're being led by stupid people. and hillary clinton will be worse than obama. if i'm elected president, we are going to start winning again. we don't win anymore. the wikileaks speeches, even showed clinton praising the president of china for promising to assert his authority. my energy proposals will unlock the $50 trillion in energy reserves right here in america. this means new jobs in florida, not new jobs in china. we're going to make america first, folks. america first.
7:30 am
it's all part of our plan to make america rich again. but to make america rich again, we have to repeal and replace the disaster known as obamacare. bill clinton in a rare moment of truth telling, said obamacare was a crazy system where people wind up with their premiums doubled and their coverage cut in half. now on this he was right, right? on this he was right. we've got to give him credit. boy, did he suffer that night. can you imagine? that was last week he suffered gravely when he went home. the next day he came in and said, he -- i'm only kidding. i'm only kidding. premiums are going to surge next year here in florida beyond what you've ever seen before and all across the country. i just left texas, great state. they've gone up 60% through blue
7:31 am
cross blue shield. 60%. remember this, the election on november 8, they're trying to announce many of these massive increases after the election. don't let it happen. you're going to have 100% increases. you're going to have 95% increases. but you've already got 68%, 72%, insurers are fleeing. patients are losing their doctors. remember, you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan. 28 times obama said that. he lied. and the best students don't want to be doctors anymore. they used to want to be doctors. doctors have more accountants working for them now than they have nurses. it's so complicated. it's a giant mess, a giant catastrophe, that will destroy american health care for good if we don't get rid of it and this election is going to be so pivotal in terms of your health care, in terms of costs for
7:32 am
health care, so remember, you're going to get great health care at a far, far reduced cost. you're going -- it's going to be much less expensive. this obamacare is a nightmare. it's a nightmare. by the way, hillary clinton wants to go to single payer the government is going to take care of everything. it's going to cost so much money you know, in canada, where they have a better version than what she's talking about, when people with some money want an operation they come into the united states to get it. it's slow, it doesn't work. doesn't work anywhere. we have concepts that are so good. in fact, concepts that are so good they'll only get better. so much less money. so we have to repeal and replace obamacare. it's killing the country and it's killing the people that have to pay for it. but you have to get out, we're going to do it, and you have to vote. we're going to replace obamacare
7:33 am
with health savings accounts so you can choose the private doctor that you want. at the center of our economic revival will be fixing our terrible, terrible trade deals. if you remember, on june 16 of last year, that is when i said, we're going to run. it takes a lot of guts and courage to do this. i started off, there were 17 people. great people. all nice people. some didn't, you know, honor their pledge, but these are minor details, right? but we had some great people, many of whom are supporting us. dr. ben carson. we have. great guy. great guy. good man. chris christie. we have incredible support. mike huckabee, he's been so great on television. he's so good. he's so good. he said the other night, donald trump won that debate by a landslide. but that doesn't mean the press is going to report that.
7:34 am
they all reported trump won but mike huckabee said it better. he said, trump won it easy. but that doesn't mean the cnn's of the world will say that they will never say it. they'll never say it. if the late, great abraham lincoln debated and he was representing our point of view, cnn would say, abe lincoln went down to a massive defeat. i mean, these are dishonest people we're dealing with. these are very, very dishonest people. and it's really a shame. and their ratings are not very good either, that's good. you know why? some people lose credibility. "new york times" is losing credibility. remember they wrote the story about trump with women, it was on the front page of "the new york times," that i was a little bit lewd. lewd. but they had the story, a few months ago with women and they put it on the front page of "the
7:35 am
new york times" and women called and said, i didn't say that. i like him a lot. he's a great guy. from 30 years ago, 20 years ago, 15 years ago. i was so honored they had the courage to do it. but the times never gave me any kind of retraction. it's a disgrace. what's going on with the media is disgraceful. it's happening to all of us. believe me. it's happening to all of us. 47 million americans are living in poverty. 45 million americans are on food stamps. this is the legacy of obama-clinton. my economic reforms on energy taxes, regulations, and trade, will create at least 25 million new jobs over the next 10 years. it's going to be unbelievable. i will be the greatest jobs president that god ever created. believe me. [cheers and applause] the state of florida has lost one in four manufacturing jobs since nafta and china deals. happened. thank you, i love you too,
7:36 am
darling. i love florida. i love the people of florida. [applause] i created many, many jobs in florida. many, many jobs. jobs in miami beach, doral is a tremendous success, maher law go, we've done all of that. hillary has done nothing for florida. primary, i ran against marco and jeb. we won by 21 points. everyone said, what happened? all these states, i went into a couple of state, trump was one point down, then we win by like 14 points. we could have this happen, we're pretty even in florida. i'm a little disappointed because hillary hasn't created a job and i've created thousands of jobs in florida. thousands.
7:37 am
after all, i have over 1,000 people working just at doral itself. mar-a-lago. trump international. many, many jobs. buildings along the beach in miami. we've created a lot of jobs. so florida if you guys don't mote me as a victor, i'm going to be angry with you. hillary doesn't come to florida. she comes to florida to try to get your vote and then you won't see her anymore. if hillary clinton gets in, the manufacture left in florida, ohio, north carolina, pennsylvania, michigan, will be shipped to other countries, shipped overseas, and go to mexico. look, there's no doubt about that. if i win, day one, we're going to announce our plans to totally renegotiate nafta. which is a one-way street for businesses to leave our country.
7:38 am
they get the businesses, they get the cash, and you know what we get? we get the drugs. that's what we get. we get nothing. we get unemployment and we get drugs. the years of all talk, no action politicians like her will end. i'm not controlled by special interests, so i'll immediately begin to go to work on this. that's why i'm putting up my own money, for the most part, other than we're getting massive amounts of small contributions. average $61. you saw the numbers. in fact, they are going to be announced tomorrow. set records for republicans on the small contributions. i love that. i love that. and we're doing good. just came out with a new commercial on crooked hillary. she's crooked as a $3 bill. i used to say a two dollar bill, but now they make two dollar bills. if we don't get the deal we want on nafta, remember this, remember i said it, we will leave nafta and start over again
7:39 am
and make a much better deal. ok? we will terminate. a trump administration will also stand up to china's product dumping and currency cheating and the steel, what they're doing to our steel companies is unbelievable with the dumping. we're going to start making things again in america. we're going to have apple make their iphones and make things in this country, not make everything in china and vietnam and these other countries. we're going to bring apple and many other companies, they're going to be back in the united states. our jobs, we're going with much lower business taxes. we're bringing the tax rate from 35% to 15% and we are going to be booming again. our taxes are so high, our tax are so high that businesses are forced to leave.
7:40 am
and by the way, when businesses want to be ripped out of florida, ripped out of your community, not going to happen anymore. because there's going to be consequences. like carrier air-conditioning. in the state of indiana. where mike pence, by the way, is doing a great job for me. do we like mike? [cheers and applause] ok. so mike did a great job. he absolutely beat tim kaine who you know, tim kaine raised taxes in his first week when he was governor of virginia, not a popular governor. he raised them by $4 billion. mike on the other hand, indiana, you take a look, he has done such a great job. here's my question to you. by cheering, who did better in the debate, are you ready? you're going to cheer and let me know. did you see hillary today? did everybody see the debate? yeah, you lost. i killed.
7:41 am
i look forward next week we have another one. i look forward. did you see, wait, wait, wait. did you see where she said i entered her space. here i am, standing. right? you saw this. this is a liar. so i'm standing at my podium, i've got my chair, and crooked hillary walks across the stage right in front of me. i'm stand, i didn't move, right? so i'm standing, she walks across the stage, standing right from front of me. i didn't care. i didn't care. and she is answering a question, and then she walks right back. ok, that's fine. i didn't make a big deal. next day i read the paper. she entered my space. but did you see what she said? that i entered her space. i didn't move. i was very careful because years ago, somebody did come in and talk to her and the poor guy,
7:42 am
lazio, he got just killed. i said, i'm not getting near this woman. i'm not getting near this woman. at all. no interest. no interest. i have no interest. but we saw that, right? so i'm standing there, she walks she stands right next to me, and the next day they said, donald trump entered her space. these are dishonest people. anyway. but next week we have another debate. in las vegas. that'll be fun. america, if i get elected, will become -- when, when, they always go -- you don't want to sound too egotistical. the polls are pretty even in florida. you don't let me down. don't let me down. honestly, don't let yourselves down.
7:43 am
maybe more importantly. america will become the great jobs magnet of the world. remember that. we're also going to fix our inner cities and help our latino americans and believe me, that's what we have to do. the hispanics in this country have been treated very unfairly. the african-americans have been treated very, very unfairly. 45% of african-american youth live in poverty. 58% of african-american youth don't have jobs. only 41% own their own home. that's much, much lower than other groups. 41%, that's a very low number. one of the lowest. more than 3,000 people have been shot in chicago since january 1. 3,000 people. so the inner cities don't have jobs. have a lousy education.
7:44 am
right? have lousy, horrible, and they're unsafe. you get shot walking to the store. so i say to the african-americans, suffering in our inner cities, what do you have to lose? vote for donald trump. what do you have to lose? i will fix it. i will do the job. and in four years from now, when we have another election, i will win with african-americans and i will win with hispanics in very large numbers. we're going to fix it. these politicians have been lying to you for years, these democrats. they have run the inner cities for up to 100 years, even more, uninterrupted. and they come for your vote every four years. hillary clinton comes for your vote and you'll get a vote and then after you get the vote she'll say, bye-bye, see you in four years. she isn't doing anything. she didn't do anything for new
7:45 am
york state. remember upstate new york? a disaster. she said in upstate new york she's going to create 200,000 jobs. guess what, everybody left, it was a disaster. she was a disaster. and she's a bad person. remember that. she's a bad, bad person. i will fight harder for you than anyone ever has fought before. that's why i want to get the african-american vote and i want to get the hispanic vote. we're going to fix your communities. we're going to fix those inner cities for once and for all. we're going to fix them and create jobs and education. we're going to have safe inner cities instead of these horrible, horrible death traps and that's what they are. we're going to fight for the latinos trapped in poverty. that includes school choice for every low income african-american and latino, hispanic child in this nation.
7:46 am
disadvantaged children will be able to send their kids to the public, private, charter, or magnet school of their choice. i also have a message for our wonderful cuban american community, any cubans here? cuban americans? not too many but i'll say it anyway, all right? obama made a one-sided deal with the castro regime, by executive order, everything is executive order because he doesn't have enough time, because he's playing so much golf, he doesn't have enough time to convince congress. he plays more golf than people on the pga tour. we will cancel the obama order unless we get the deal that we want, including political and religious freedom for the people of cuba. we will also stand with our friends in venezuela as they struggle for freedom and doral is located in a big community where we have tremendous numbers of people from venezuela.
7:47 am
amazing people. the people of venezuela and cuba know how dangerous corruption is and how dangerous socialism is. two more reasons why we have to keep crooked hillary clinton out of the white house. [applause] here are some more amazing things as we fin herb up that we're going to do for our country starting in 2017. right around the corner. we are going to massively cut taxes and regulations. she is going to increase taxes substantially. we're going to protect internet freedom. you see what they want to sell now? they want to have the internet run by the world. did you see what obama wants to do? i hope we can stop that deal fast. did you see that? wants to give up that tremendous right, we're going to defend religious liberty. we're going to safeguard our
7:48 am
very obsolete electrical grid from cyberattack. cyberattack is a new big problem. we're going to rebuild our depleted military. and we are going to take care of our great veterans. [applause] we have tremendous veteran support. tremendous veteran support. we're going to construct a state of the art system of missile defense. we're going to expand america's role as a leader in space. we're going to save our second amendment which is under siege by hillary clinton. [applause] and the national rifle association, the n.r.a., as you know, endorsed me. the earliest endorsement they've ever given to a presidential candidate. and we are going to, this is so important, appoint justices to the united states supreme court who will uphold and defend the constitution of the united states. [applause]
7:49 am
you have 28 days to make every dream that you ever dreamed for your country become true. on november 8, so important, the arrogance of washington, d.c. will come face to face with the righteous verdict of the american voter, you. [applause] we are going to replace our corrupt global establishment that has failed us on the borders, on trade, on foreign policy, on the economy, and so much more. we don't win anymore, folks. we don't win anymore. when did you see us win? we lose on trade. we can't beat isis. by the way, we're going to knock the hell out of isis. we're going to knock the hell out of isis. we're going to replace the failed leadership in washington who have betrayed you, squandered your wealth and sold
7:50 am
out your country and by the way, we're going to have very strong borders and we will build the wall and we will stop drugs from pouring in. [applause] now we will build the wall. ok, folks, are you ready? who is going to pay for the wall? >> mexico! mr. trump: they might not know it yet but they will. mexico is great, the people are great. i went to mexico, met with the president, it was great. we're going to build a wall. and they're going to pay. the reason they're going to pay is they are making a fortune. they're making a fortune on trade.
7:51 am
our trade deficit with mexico is is massive. our trade deficit with china is beyond anything you can imagine. worldwide on trade we lost almost $800 billion last year. you say to yourself, who negotiates these deals? we have a few of my friends here, they are good business people they're sitting here, , say, who negotiates these deals? they're in the audience. one guy is looking at me, he's laughing now. incompetent people or corrupt people. ok. they're either incompetent or corrupt. i'm asking all americans, republicans, independents, and democrats to join us in our campaign to give our government back to the american people. [applause] i am going to fight for every citizen of every background from every stretch of this nation, and i will fight to bring us all together as americans. we are divided in so many ways. we will be a unified country again. we will love each other,
7:52 am
everybody. by the way, is there ever a better or safer place to be than a trump rally? [cheering] win, etter make sure they or there will not be any more trump rallies. imagine what our country could accomplish if we started working together as one people under one god, saluting one american flag? [applause] you were going to look back at this rally for the rest of your life. you will remember this day, this is a movement like nobody has ever seen before. we take it for granted. when big about to pennsylvania, we had 20,000 people.
7:53 am
alabama, we had 35,000 people. we go to different places and we get crowds that nobody has ever seen, before. i don't have a guitar. someone said you get the biggest crowds in the world for someone without a guitar. that is an interesting way of saying it. we are going to make history, together. you are going to look back at the selection and say this is by far the most important vote than you have ever cast at any time in your life. a vote for me is a vote for change, a vote for me is really a vote for you. we will run things right. america first. first, put our country for the first time in a long time.
7:54 am
7:57 am
>> alaska senators are denouncing donald trump. the associated press reports lisa murkowski and and sullivan voluntarily resigned over the weekend because party officers are expected to back the party candidate. from sent out a few tweets including this one. hillary clinton responded this morning with a multimedia presentation on her campaign website. we will show you yesterday's hillary clinton rally in florida where she is joined by former vice president al gore. they discussed time it change and the impact of hurricane matthew. this is just over an hour.
7:58 am
7:59 am
the next senator of florida. thanks to congresswoman debbie wasserman schultz. thank you to mayor philip levine at miami beach. thank you to mayor phillips daughter. thanks to all the others who were part of the program. we heard lots of energy coming from this crowd. i was told as i was coming out are --s an overflow we we are so happy you are here, so thank you to the overflow crowd. what i am most excited about is to be here with one of the world's foremost leaders on climate change, al gore.
8:00 am
ms. clinton: about a decade ago, al made a movie called "an inconvenient truth." maybe some of you have seen it, but if you haven't, i hope you will watch it tonight. it does not have a lot of special effects, but it does have a lot of drama. and here is the main message -- climate change is real, it is urgent, and america can take the lead in the world in addressing it, right? we here in america can develop new clean energy solutions, we can transform our economy, we can rally the world to cut carbon pollution, and above all, we can fulfill our moral
8:01 am
obligation to protect our planet for our children and our grandchildren. now, let me just say -- >> hillary! hillary! hillary! ms. clinton: so, so, let's remember what's at stake. i'm running against a guy who denies science, denies climate change, says it is a hoax created by the chinese. so this is something that al gore has been working on for a really long time. and i want you to know how far back he goes. it was in 1982 when he held the very first hearing on climate change in the house of
8:02 am
representatives. with the world famous climate scientist, jim hansen. then when he became a senator, he continued to raise the alarm and look for solutions. and as vice president, he led america's effort to negotiate the kyoto protocol to cut greenhouse gas emissions. [applause] ms. clinton: you take all of us together, those 30 years of leadership, led al gore to be awarded the nobel peace prize in 2007. [applause] ms. clinton: i was very proud because he had been determined and persistent, and in the face of a lot of people in public life, in business and elsewhere who were trying to diminish the importance of the science, he
8:03 am
never wavered. and in the years since, the climate challenge has only grown more stark. and i will tell you this, it is one of the most important issues at stake in this election. look at it this way. our next president will either step up our efforts to address climate change, to protect our planet, to protect our health, and to create good jobs that cannot be outsourced, by growing our clean energy economy or, in the alternative, we will be dragged backwards and our whole future will be put at risk. we have really got to get this right. if you need additional convincing, just remember what happened this week. hurricane matthew killed more than 26 people in our country,
8:04 am
more than 1000 as far as we know right now, in haiti. north carolina is still dealing with serious flooding and will be at least for the rest of this week, if not longer. we all need to support each other as our communities put the pieces back together and begin the long road back from this disaster. that is why i have encouraged everyone to give what you can afford to the florida disaster fund or to team rubicon, the veterans organization working to respond to hurricane matthew, or to unicef, helping children and families on the ground in haiti. some will say we have always had hurricanes, they have always been destructive, and that is true. but hurricane matthew was likely more destructive because of climate change. right now, the ocean is at or near record high temperatures, and that contributed to the
8:05 am
torrential rainfall and the flash flooding that we saw in the carolinas. sea levels have already risen about a foot -- one foot -- in much of the southeast, which means that matthew's storm surge was higher and the flooding was more severe. but, as you know, the impact of climate change goes beyond extreme events like hurricanes. it has become a daily reality here in miami. you have streets in miami beach and in shorecrest that are flooding at high tide. the ocean is bubbling up through the sewer system. sometimes people call 311 because they assume a water main must have broken when actually it is the sea rising around them. if you need proof that climate change is real and it is costly,
8:06 am
there you go. so, at this rate -- at this rate, my friend -- my friend, please, let's focus on what's really important in this election and in your future and the future of our country. [applause] ms. clinton: because this is what i want you to hear and understand. at the rate we are going, one in eight homes in florida could be underwater by the end of the century. and when kids like that adorable young boy over there on his dad's shoulders are grandparents, we believe that is more than $400 billion of
8:07 am
property in florida at risk. nationwide, it is $882 billion in property at risk. there is also health consequences. mosquitoes that carry diseases like the zika virus and ticks that carry lyme disease are expanding their ranges. and, hotter summers and longer pollen seasons are making allergies and asthma worse, which is especially bad for our children. and look at what has happened in california, a brutal five-year drought. wildfires had burned more than 9 million acres in our country last year. it is also about national security. the pentagon has identified climate change as a threat to our national security. the u.s. atlantic fleet is based in virginia and because of rising sea levels, the base is
8:08 am
frequently flooded, even when it is sunny. that is why the pentagon is looking at how climate change will affect readiness and operations not just in norfolk, but in all of our military bases around the world. you would think, if you look at the facts, if you listen to the science, that even the most committed climate skeptic would say ok, i agree, something is happening here and we need to take it seriously. but unfortunately there are still too many people in washington, on the campaign trail, who will not face what is happening right in front of us. donald trump is, quote, not a big believer in climate change. and, you know, as i said, he said it is a hoax created by the chinese. in our first debate two weeks ago, he tried to deny saying that.
8:09 am
but that tweet is there for all to see, and i would wish that donald would actually listen to people here in florida, like miami beach's mayor and others who are doing incredible work to address the sunny day floods. [applause] or maybe he would listen to miami beach commissioner john elizabeth. she's a republican but she is supporting our campaign because she knows america cannot afford a candidate who does not accept climate science. [applause] ms. clinton: or maybe donald would listen to our military leaders who say climate change threatens our national security. or what about the rangers in colorado or the mayors in arizona or the community leaders in alaska who say our lives and jobs are being affected. please, let's come together as a
8:10 am
country and do something about it. we cannot risk putting a climate denier in the white house. at all. that is absolutely unacceptable. [applause] ms. clinton: we need a president who believes in science and who has a plan to lead america in facing this threat and creating good jobs. and yes, saving our planet. here is what i want to do. first, we need to do a lot more on clean energy. the clean energy superpower of the 21st century is probably going to be either germany, china or us, and i want it to be us and i want you to be part of making it us. [applause] ms. clinton: and we need to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy, create high-paying jobs, building and installing more solar panels and wind turbines. modernizing our electric grid. retrofitting buildings.
8:11 am
building resilient 21st-century infrastructure. and we have to make sure no community is left out or left behind. not our inner cities or our small town nor our remote rural areas. you would not know if you only listen to my opponent. he has such a dark, divisive view of america. but that does not tell the story about what is really going on. it is actually pretty exciting. in red states and blue states, local leaders are stepping up. rural electric co-ops are investing in community solar power. and you see that across america. union workers in michigan, union workers in michigan are getting ready to build electric chevys in a plant powered by clean energy. iowa is already getting a third
8:12 am
of its electricity from wind. renewable energy is already the fastest-growing source of new jobs in america. i think that is so exciting. there are nearly 2 million people already working in energy efficiency. in spartanburg, south carolina, a project called regenesis is taking an old landfill and turning into a solar farm. that landfill was a blight and a health threat. it was 250 feet away from a residential neighborhood. now that same land will generate enough clean, renewable electricity to power 500 homes. so this is what we can do. and i think it is time washington should back up and support doing more of that.
8:13 am
as president, i want to see 500 million more solar panels installed across america by the end of my first term. and let's generate enough renewable energy to power every home in america within the decade. let's make our buildings and factories more energy efficient and cut our oil consumption by one-third. we can get there by investing and supporting in cutting-edge research to keep developing cheaper and better clean energy technologies, investing in clean energy infrastructure and advanced manufacturing, putting big partnerships together between states, cities, and rural communities. we can do all of this and create millions of good paying jobs as we do. so i'm hoping that these good jobs will offer security and dignity while we produce the
8:14 am
clean energy that will power the economy of the future. the clean energy solutions are being developed right here in america. we want them manufactured in america and installed in america and putting people to work in america. [applause] ms. clinton: and while we do that, let's make sure that our communities are ready for the impact of climate change that are coming right at us. we need to invest in resilient infrastructure. sometimes that might mean building a sea wall. other times, let's be more creative, like in new york harbor where we are replanting oyster beds to form natural barriers to storm surge. sometimes, we will overhaul an outdated sewer system to deal with flooding from heavy downpours.
8:15 am
in philadelphia, they are trying something else. green roofs, porous payment, curbside gardens to help absorb stormwater. and here is something we do not talking about -- let's make sure our hospitals can stay open and operational in any kind of disaster. [applause] ms. clinton: because sadly, i saw what happened in new york during hurricane sandy. newborns who had been on respirators had to be evacuated down nine flights of stairs in one it new york hospital because the electricity went off. i love nurses. heroic, courageous. nurses were carrying those babies and manually squeezing bags of air to keep them breathing.
8:16 am
here in miami, you know how important it is. you have retrofitted the hospital with hurricane-resistant shell for this reason. every hospital in the country should follow your lead and build in more resilience. finally, we have got to lead the world to confront the climate challenge. if we do not do it, no one will do it. we must confront the climate challenge, there is no doubt about that. let's move on with the kind of leadership that the world, as well as our country, deserves. when i was secretary of state i worked with president obama to make climate change a top diplomatic priority. we fought to get china and india and other major polluters to agree for the first time in history to be part of the solution. in fact, we had to crash a secret meeting in copenhagen, denmark. slip past the guards, it was all very cloak and dagger. but because of that work, 195
8:17 am
nations signed onto a global agreement last december. it is called the paris agreement. [applause] ms. clinton: i am not exaggerating when i say it is our last best chance to solve the global climate crisis. what does donald trump want to do? he wants to cancel the paris agreement. [booing] ms. clinton: he does not care what it would do to the planet. he does not care how much that would damage american leadership. he does not care what it would do to the future we leave our kids and our grandkids. he may not care, but we do, and that is why this election is so critically important. [applause] ms. clinton: because on the ballot, it is not just my name, it is every issue you care about.
8:18 am
climate change needs to be a voting issue. we need to elect people in every level of government willing to take it seriously and roll up their sleeves and get something done. please, we cannot keep sending climate deniers and defeatists to congress or statehouses, and certainly not to the white house. and you know, if you care about climate, your senate race is also really important, and i will tell you why. it is unacceptable, it is an unacceptable response for marco rubio, when asked about climate change, to say, "i am not a scientist." why would he not ask a scientist? maybe then he would understand why it is so important that he,
8:19 am
representing florida, be committed to climate change. that is why i hope you will elect patrick murphy to the united states senate. look, we need leaders who can get results. it is not enough to protest, we need creativity, we need hard work. when it comes to climate change, we do not have a minute to waste. i know it is easy to get cynical, especially about our politics, i get that. but this election matters more than any has in a really long time. and i believe that as strongly as i can, we have to address this issue for our children and our grandchildren. it is so critically important when you think about how leadership can make a difference. just look, if you will, look at the difference between your state, the sunshine state, which has less solar energy than new jersey has right now.
8:20 am
and you know why? you have a governor who has ordered a state government to never use the word climate change. this is a big deal in this election. and it is going to be a big deal for our country and our world. there is not anybody, there is not anybody who knows more, has done a more and work harder. i know he was in miami just last year training and educating people to be climate change activists. i cannot wait to have al gore advising me when i am president of the united states. [applause] ms. clinton: so please join me in welcoming our former vice president, a climate change leader and an all-around great guy, al gore. [applause]
8:21 am
mr. gore: thank you. thank you very much. thank you. [applause] mr. gore: thank you. thank you so much. thank you very much, secretary clinton. ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for the warm welcome. i appreciate those kind words very much. very much. i want to acknowledge all of the elected officials and distinguished guests who are here. i want to say a special word of thanks to president eduardo petrone of miami-dade college. i understand you have got a pretty good women's volleyball team here, so go lady sharks, is that what you say? i'm here today with two very
8:22 am
simple messages. number one, when it comes to the most urgent issue facing our country and the world, the choice in this election is extremely clear. hillary clinton will make solving the climate crisis a top national priority. very important. [applause] mr. gore: her opponent, based on the ideas he has presented, would take us towards a climate catastrophe. that is my first message. the climate crisis is and must be regarded as a top national priority, and a top global priority. here is my second message. your vote, really, really, really counts. a lot. [applause]
8:23 am
mr. gore: you can consider me as an exhibit a of that truth. [laughter] mr. gore: for those of you who are younger than 25, you might not remember the election of 2000 and what happened here in florida and across the country. for those of you older than 25, i heard you murmuring just now, but take it from me, it was a very close election. election -- >> you won, you won! mr. gore: here is my point.
8:24 am
i do not want you to be in a position years from now where you welcome hillary clinton and say, actually, you did win, it just was not close enough to make sure that all the votes were counted or whatever. elections have consequences. your vote counts. your vote has consequences. and in this election, the future of miami and cities up and down the west coast and east coast of florida are on the ballot as well. indeed, the entire state of florida and its future are on this ballot. so is our economy, our health, our national security.
8:25 am
the common thread that binds all of these issues together, what we decide to do about carbon pollution and its damage to the ecological system of the earth. i do not have to tell you here in florida that the climate crisis is real. it is true that some of your elected officials have not recognized that it is real. but every single night on the television news is like the book of revelations. you look at the floods and droughts and mudslides and the fires and the incredible downpours. as secretary clinton just mentioned, hurricane matthew just recently. it spun up from a tropical storm into a category five hurricane in just 36 hours. that is extremely unusual. the reason that happened is the
8:26 am
climate crisis is trapping so much extra heat in the earth's system, equivalent to be 4000 atomic bombs going off every day. it is warming the oceans, more than 90% of that goes into the oceans. the southern caribbean, where it spun up into a category five so quickly, was much warmer than normal because of that. and the gulf stream is way warmer than normal for this time of year for the same reason. this means also that all the water vapor coming off the ocean into the atmosphere is brought over the land. so we get these record downpours. just in the last year, we have seen one in 1000 year downpours in louisiana, west virginia, texas, maryland.
8:27 am
in houston, in one twelve-month period, they just had two floods. they had as much water dumped on them as would have been put there by 3.5 days of the entire flow of niagara falls. this is not normal. it is becoming the new normal, which is now a set of conditions that we have created with all of this man-made global warming. secretary clinton also mentioned the sea level rise. we have seen already -- some of you who are a little bit older may remember hurricane andrew -- absolutely. when hillary and i were first campaigning together in 1992, hurricane andrew came through. just since hurricane andrew, the
8:28 am
sea level in the waters around florida have gone up three inches since hurricane andrew. and every vertical inch of sea level means 4-8 feet of the water going inward. and the storm surges on top of that. and in high tides, there are now sometimes fish from the ocean swimming in the streets of miami beach and delray and fort lauderdale. the rainfall in carolinas, secretary clinton mentioned what they are still dealing with. they got 17 inches of rain because the warmer oceans not only make the wind speeds much stronger than it has been in the past on average, but it also dumps all that water on the land. and she mentioned the role it plays in health. just yesterday there were six
8:29 am
more cases of zika announced in dade county. these tropical diseases has spread so quickly partly because of airline travel and the transportation revolution, but the change in climate conditions change the places where these tropical diseases become endemic and put down roots. the mosquitoes mature faster and then the virus in the mosquitoes incubate much faster and they bite more often because they're cold-blooded and when the temperature goes up, their metabolism goes up and they spread the disease way more quickly. so these and many other consequences, including the fires out west that secretary clinton talked about, they are really wake up calls for us. mother nature is giving us a very clear and powerful message.
8:30 am
we cannot continue putting 110 million tons of global pollution into the atmosphere every day as if it was a sewer. we have got to stop it. we have to wake up and recognize the need for change. [applause] mr. gore: so, most people know that we have to change this, but here is the really good news that more people should know. we can change this. we now have the ability to change this. it is going to be a long, hard fight. we have a long way to go. but we now have the renewable energy technologies and the efficiency, improvements and electric vehicles and sustainable and organic agriculture and sustainable forests. that and other ways of changing our lives for the better that can sharply diminished the
8:31 am
amount of global warming pollution we are putting up there. and the secretary clinton is exactly right, that we can create good jobs in the process. jobs that cannot be outsourced. she is also right that either china or germany or some other country other than the u.s. could become the renewable energy superpower of this new century. one day last december, germany, which is much higher in latitude than the u.s. and pretty cloudy, in one day they got 87% of all their electricity from wind and solar and renewable energy. we can be on track to do that as well. and china -- yes, china is the biggest polluter now, but they have begun to change big-time. their coal use is going down, their overall emissions are
8:32 am
going down, and they have just announced that next year in 2017, they are adopting a nationwide cap in trade program and they're taking other measures to reduce and to create those jobs in china. and in paris, the paris agreement is a big deal. yes, it is not enough. yes, it needed to do more. but it is by far the biggest step forward the world has ever taken to solve the climate crisis. virtually every nation in the world, i think there were three or four little ones like nicaragua who did not, but virtually every nation in the world agreed to phase out greenhouse gas emissions and go to net zero emissions early in the second half of this century and to begin that process now. it is a powerful signal and that signal is being received.
8:33 am
we hear news every single day of more businesses making that shift. so, the question in this election, and this comes back to my first message, is which of these candidates is going to continue the progress and actually increase the rate of progress? with hillary clinton, we will build on the progress made under president obama with the paris agreement. and she will seize the opportunity. [applause] mr. gore: after all, solar electricity and wind electricity is now way cheaper than it was years ago when some of us started sounding the alarm about this crisis. hillary clinton knows this very well and she has worked with president obama. since the beginning of the obama administration, the cost of wind
8:34 am
electricity has come down by half. solar is down by 64%. led down by 94%. [applause] mr. gore: we have seen electricity from solar increased 30 times over. last year, if you look at all of the new electricity generation that was added last year, what percentage of it to you think was solar and wind? 71%. virtually zero from coal. and it is already creating millions of jobs and it continues to get cheaper and cheaper every single week. world records are being broken every month now as it continues to get cheaper.
8:35 am
now, hillary clinton knows this not only because she has studied it, not only because she has worked with president obama, but her work in the senate emphasizes this. her work on child asthma and air pollution and helping to improve children's health by cutting down on air pollution was very important. her work on environmental justice made it clear that it is for people and minority communities that are almost always victimized more than the rest of us by these environmental crises. she has proposed a terrific plan to install -- she has said herself and i will not repeat all of it, but i will say this. when she put out her solar plan, half a billion solar panels by the end of her term and enough renewable energy to power america, i looked at it very carefully. and i will say to all of you, you will hear a lot of

candidates for office who will put out plans that have words you're not even sure what they might mean. i went to that with a fine toothed comb. and i will tell you that her plan on solar panels and expanding renewable energy, it is right at the limit of what we can do and that is exactly the kind of ambitious goal that we need from the next president of the united states of america. [applause] mr. gore: almost 100 years ago, america's most famous inventor, thomas edison, said these words, this is an exact quote. i would put my money on the sun and solar energy. what a source of power. i hope you do not have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that.

i want to say a brief word about -- i'm going to return to my main point in a moment, i want to say brief word about something else that all of you can do. you can elect patrick murphy to the united states senate instead of a climate denier. but here is something else you can do, vote no on initiative one on your ballot. [applause] mr. gore: hillary mentioned that there are fewer solar jobs in the sunshine state, florida, then there are in new jersey. actually, florida also lags behind massachusetts, which is even farther north. despite having three times the population of massachusetts, florida has less than half of the solar jobs that have been

created in massachusetts. massachusetts installed more solar energy last year alone than florida has installed in its entire history. >> it is ridiculous. mr. gore: yes, it is ridiculous, that is exactly right. the head of one of the fossil fuel-burning utilities here actually said last year, yes, florida is the sunshine state, but remember it is also the partly cloudy state. well, they are trying to cloud the truth by putting forward a phony baloney initiative that sounds like it protects solar. it does not protect solar. the things they claim to protect solar are protections you already have. they are trying to fool you into amending your state constitution in a way that gives them the authority to shut down net metering and do in florida what

they did in nevada and kill the solar industry. this is a question -- our democracy has been hacked and the fossil utilities here have spent more than $20 million to try to pull the wool over your eyes. $20 million can buy a lot of wool. [laughter] mr. gore: amendment one would benefit the incumbent fossil fuels and make it harder for homeowners to go solar. let me close by returning to my second message. the stakes in this election simply could not be higher. you will often hear people from podiums like this one say something like that at election time. i know, i have heard it. i have even said it before.

but honestly, to those of you here and those of you who can hear my voice by whatever means, this election really matters. the world is on the cusp of either building on the progress and solving the climate crisis, or stepping back, washing our hands of america's traditional role as the leader of the world in letting the big polluters call the shots. the choice is that clear. it is that start. the consequences are not just for our children and grandchildren and future generations, and for all of us, are really quite significant. so, because of that, please take it from me, every single vote counts. every single vote counts.
