10:15 pm
mr. trump: thank you, thank you. thank you very much. thank you. [cheers and applause] president elect trump: thank you very much. this is where it all began. remember the incredible rally we had. it was packed and incredible, that was the beginning. and you remember, even though you do not have to vote for me, maybe in four years we will take a look. i said i was coming back to see
10:16 pm
you in alabama. this is our last rally, our last stop. i just want to thank the people of alabama and i want to start by wishing you a very merry christmas. merry christmas. but i am here today for one reason, and that is to thank the incredible people. i recognize them, so many from alabama. i want to thank the people of alabama, we are really the people that love this country. we have so many people that love this country all over. i went to a little victory tour, but really they were thank you tours in pennsylvania. this is alabama. if you do not mind, we are
10:17 pm
thanking the people of alabama and thanking the people of the south. because boy, did we do well. [applause] mr. trump: boy, did we do well in the south. i do not know if you noticed, the people of the south. i think i am going to move to alabama or someplace in the south. because we won. not just ok here, a record. nobody ever had the numbers that we had. i just want to thank you. this is our last stop. there is no better place to celebrate than right here. so thank you. you propelled to victory a grassroots movement the likes of which the world, frankly, has never seen before. and you know if i was saying something that was slightly off, these people would be correcting us, right? they would be correcting us. because of the weather, the
10:18 pm
buses are still pouring in. i think we should wait. you will explain to them we are having a great time, right? the incredible patriots of the stadium today defied the pundits and the pollsters and the special interests, and delivered a historic win for the american worker and for the american people, totally. i wanted to thank so many great people. having franklin graham, who was so instrumental. we won so big with evangelical christians. we won so big. where is franklin? there he is, look at him. he worked so hard. thank you, franklin. anybody that has anything to do
10:19 pm
with the great billy graham, i love. and that is the son, and that son is great. and billy is doing well, 98 years old, but he is doing well. i also want to give a very special thank you to the men and women of the united states military. [applause] mr. trump: because not only did we win with evangelicals by massive numbers, not just two points, by many, many points. but we won with of the military and we won with law enforcement, big-league. we are in your debt and we will never ever let you down. we want your service and sacrifice, that begins with restoring respect for the american flag, right? which has been taking abuse lately. i can only speak for myself, but
10:20 pm
i do not like it. i do not like it. and we are going to finally take care of our great veterans. and that is another group, so amazing. so amazing, the veterans. we are going to be naming somebody very soon to head up the v.a., we are getting it taken care of, folks. it is time, it is time. people that come into the country illegally, people that come into the country and cause problems, they are taken care of better than our vets, in many cases. time to take care of our vets. [chanting build that wall]
10:21 pm
mr. trump: do not worry, we are going to build the wall. we are also going to rebuild our badly depleted military. our military is depleted. but we will be smart with how we spend our money. we are not going to spend $4.2 billion on air force one, is that ok? i mean, we all like beautiful aircraft, but boeing is going to do a much less expensive plan than that. they ordered a new plane, they are in the process. you're going to see it, we got in toward the end, but that is ok. we got it in time. no $4.2 billion airplane.
10:22 pm
america will be a strong nation again, but we will also be a fair and just nation. there is a very, very special guest, ok? and i want to bring that guest on stage in a moment. he is someone that cares deeply about justice, who believes all people are equal in the eyes of the law, he is a great, great man. he is an alabama native, he could run for the rest of his life, nobody even wants to run against him. he spent 15 years as a federal prosecutor, served as the alabama state's attorney general and represented you in the united states senate for 20 years, including 20 years on the judiciary committee.
10:23 pm
people do not even know, he is a legendary prosecutor, many forgot that. he appeared at the stadium 16 months ago and put on a make america great again hat. [applause] he was the first senator to endorse me, and really the first major endorsement i had. and he never endorsed a presidential candidate before. but he saw what i had to say and he saw the response from the people of alabama. he is someone i am very proud to call a friend and a man i've chosen -- this is a great honor for the state of alabama. to be the next attorney general of the united states, alabama senator jeff sessions.
10:24 pm
come on up, jeff. [applause] >> thank you, mr. president-elect. what a great honor it is to have you back in my hometown, mobile, alabama. i do remember that event 16 months ago. how many of you were here on that day? it was an eye-opening event.
10:25 pm
the united states political establishment, there is no doubt that for your effort in your campaign, mobile played a historic role and the momentum built. there is no doubt about it. i think where people began to see this was more than a normal campaign. it was a movement. i think the american people have spoken in so many ways in the selection. thank you for the honor you have given me, the opportunity to have a different role in my life. i will give my honest and best effort every single day to make you proud, the american people proud. to serve everybody with equality and justice. i want to tell you, this country needs help.
10:26 pm
they believe you have the ability to lead us in a new way. i think they are encouraged by the new and fresh cabinet you are establishing, putting people in there that show determination and dedication. i want to say thank you to mayor simpson and his team, to the county and all those who helped make this possible. now and last time. it has been a great thing there. mr. president-elect, thank you so much for the opportunity to work with you, the opportunity to see you develop as a candidate, the opportunity to participate in a movement that i believe could help make america great again. god bless you. [applause]
10:27 pm
mr. trump: he is an amazing man. [chanting trump] mr. trump: jeff is an amazing man. working with him, i know we will make these incredible strides that our country has to make in restoring safety and justice for all of our people. again, alabama, i know because i get so many letters from the people of alabama in so many forms of communication, including tweets. they are so proud. they are so proud of him, and we are proud of him. so thank you, thank you jeff, fantastic. so great.
10:28 pm
jeff talked a little bit about the election and his endorsement. do you want me to discuss that evening one more time? should i? [applause] mr. trump: yes or no? i could give you a beautiful, rhetorical, flowing speech, and we could fall asleep together. or we can discuss this. i am really here because i promised you during that while had in august, a long time ago, seems like a long time ago. a lot of things came out of that day. it opened up the eyes of the media. even though the media that dislikes us all. it opened up their eyes. and it began to a certain extent, june 16. i remember coming down the escalator with melania and i talked about crime and borders
10:29 pm
and i talked about trade, nothing much changed. we just got more severe, and frankly, things got worse. things got worse. and it made more and more of an impact. we had a big primary, a total of 17 people. i remember they did a report one time and it was interesting. they did a report, it was three or four months into the campaign. they said, trump has four months of experience doing this. and my opponents had 236 years, right? 236. you add 25 years, 20 years and 30 years -- i will stay out here, the hell with this. i did not know it rained in alabama.
10:30 pm
but rain is good luck to my right? rain is good luck. and i never liked this suit anyway, i will throw it away. but it was really an amazing thing. so we did that and we got into the general. and we know what happened in the primaries. they say they were the meanest primaries in the history of this country. they were mean and nasty. but i got good support, ben carson and chris christie, and a lot of others. ultimately, most of them came around. a few came around right after the election, that is not quite the same. we started off and it was amazing. if anything, we were set up incorrectly by the media. they all said that texas was in play, they said georgia was in play, they said utah was in play. and they were not in play, and i never thought they were in play. they were liars.
10:31 pm
only in alabama can we say that, liars. but what happened, we tend to believe the media. we believed walter cronkite years ago, right? this is not the great walter cronkite. we tended to believe them, yet we had crowds like this. you ought to see the crowds we had in pennsylvania, ohio, iowa. even after the election, this is just a thank you to me and you and the folks. we had a crowd last night that the manager said was 30,000 people. and i read the palm beach post, the one that just came out. there was a line in the second
10:32 pm
paragraph, it was one of the biggest crowds that i have seen, you couldn't see the end of it, it was actually a field last night, orlando was incredible. i read the palm beach post and it said, donald trump spoke before hundreds of people. right? very dishonest. very, very dishonest. hundreds of people is not 25,000 or 30,000 people, can we agree with that? but they know what they are doing. but i guess it did not work, because we are here together, folks. we have been hearing, i go to texas and we have massive crowds. we had a crowd in texas that filled up the stadium. the line was so long, and those were the people that did not get in, it was 30 blocks long and
10:33 pm
went all the way back to a highway in houston. i said, how are we losing texas or how are we tied in texas? they said texas was in play, like we were doing badly. as soon as the polls opened, they go breaking news, donald trump wins the state of texas. donald trump wins. this is like, immediately. we win georgia, we won utah. did you see my competition in utah? this guy came out of nowhere. my wife said, trust me, he is not doing well. but they had him even with me and me maybe not winning utah. as soon as the real polls came out, we won it in a massive landslide. and i do not know what that guy was trying to prove, all we could do is potentially lose the united states supreme court. assume the race was closer.
10:34 pm
we won by a lot, it was not even close. but let's assume that we needed utah, which frankly we thought we needed. we really thought we needed utah. let's assume we did not win utah. you know what he gains? i will not say the name of a magazine guy who works so hard. so many of these guys misread us for two years. they are still misreading us and are still misreading us, and i love it. they are still misreading us. then ohio came in and we were 10 points up. we were more than 10 points up in iowa, and iowa, you never win like that, the republicans. so we won by big numbers. then we came down to florida, and florida was even. florida was even that whole night, that big, beautiful state. and it is even. and then we hit the panhandle. anybody live in the panhandle?
10:35 pm
>> i love the panhandle. you had to see the people, they were so devastated media. the anchors. so they have been saying for months and months, that trump is absolutely killed. i remember three weeks before he election, one of them, i won't say the name, he said how the rest oing to live of his life because this is one defeats.ost devastating he'll suffer so badly. nd his whole career, which is true, which is good, like your football team, right? they?ood are [cheers and applause] frankly, all your football teams do well, right? but this guy, and he was saying how is he h joy, going -- they were talking about
10:36 pm
this 3 1/2 weeks before the primary, i told my wife, man, hear.as bad to his whole life has been based on winning and he's going to suffer ne of the greatest defeats in the history of politics, right, jeff? that was what they were saying. lose the ing to presidency. i was going to take down with me house, and i was going to take down the senate. down as s going to go the single greatest defeat in the history of politics. we had e weeks later, the single greatest victory in the history of politics. what they said. [cheers and applause] mr. trump: i don't know if you won this, nationwide, we won -- you -- usa is right, made in the usa, we'll put that sign usa, but, you know, one of our product that a re going to start making lot of, but it was like this, you know, terrible kind of thing. very saying it, he was
10:37 pm
happy but we then went back, i went back to work. work and ily down to didn't do interviews. all i did is stuff like this, want to do, i didn't interviews because they cut off your sentence, cut it in half. you would make a beautiful tatement and then would you say, i didn't say that. when they leave the back part of he sentence off or they don't talk about the other half of the paragraph, it's not so good, right? deal , i don't want to with these people. i said if you want to quote me, quote me from the speeches. i get nice quote but even there, they will take a line, a funny line, i'll give you an of what happened today. one of the papers wrote a story, lot of fun over the last couple of days, i said, election, prior to the you people were strong and vicious and violent, and you wanted to win. saying it kiddingly, right? you were to win, but vicious as vicious as i have ever seen. nd we were all laughing and
10:38 pm
having fun, right? and i said after the election, meaning last night or the night i was in different places, like pennsylvania, hershey, pennsylvania, said, and e, but i now, you are mellow, low key, are just sitting back, you won, you won. you're chilling out. okay. so i said that and everybody laughed and they had fun. so today, a couple of the groups, i won't tell you which station, but it's ridiculous, we were right., donald trump is calling his people vicious. donald trump. he said, these people are so ad, so we can't have a little humor, folks, because if we have humor, they will take it, and, when you report it or write it out it does sound that way but when you see it you know talking aboute're so they are very dishonest people but we go down, we understand, we shouldn't change, right? we can't change. because people get it. obviously, because i think i that, we a statement
10:39 pm
won like 2,700 counties. kelly ann? where is our great kelly ann? [cheers] mr. trump: she told me 2,700. didn't know i was going to do this. going to know i was do this. [applause] mr. trump: where is hope? where is hope? hope, get up here, hope. hope, get up here. he's always on the phone talking to the reporters. trying to get the reporters to straighten out their dishonest stories. hope and kelly ann. so kelly ann, kelly ann, now, ou've seen -- has anyone, like how about every day seen her on television, right? politics ofstory of this country, she's the first win, asn manager to ever a female. [applause] did a fantastic
10:40 pm
job. they april, tell them about counties. >> okay. again. >> so -- your president elect won over 2,600 counties. huge. he also won 31 of the 50 states, votes.ectoral [applause] >> and had any of those graphics said road to the popular vote, we would have been in and new a and illinois york, and we would have won the popular vote but every graphic to 270, so we figured a ll get 306 just to have cushion. [applause] >> and there is one other thing of doesn't get an to
10:41 pm
coverage which i think is incredibly impressive about the trump-pence victory. donald trump, your next president, turned 200 counties this country from to ident obama in 2012 president trump in 2016. [cheers and applause] trump: hope is a tremendously talented person. off with us right from day one. she's used to be in my real estate company. said, what do you know about politics? she said absolutely nothing. into theations, you're world, right? she knew nothing. there the first day, and she was fantastic. nd, i just say a couple of words. she's a little shy but that's okay. because she's really, really talented. say a couple of words. [chores and applause]
10:42 pm
>> merry christmas, everyone. thank you, donald trump. mra [applause] [cheers and applause] mr. trump: we had a great team. we had a great team. won e other side, when we so big in ohio, and we won so big in iowa, we weren't supposed that, and we had those horrible exit polls, remember the exit polls started everybody, you know, they did that to depress the vote. because in places like other places, you know, there is a three-hour gap, nd they said, i love trump but i'm not going to waste my time because these exit polls came and her my daughter husband jered called up, ivanka and jered and they said, dad,
10:43 pm
looking really bad. what's looking bad? it can't? i just left michigan. started speaking almost at 1:00 in the morning on election day. 31,000 people. inside and out. and i said, what's looking bad? said, those exit polls are just horrible. and it's not looking good. i said, to my wife, you know what? don't feel badly about this because i worked as hard as you can work. don't forget that last month, i three speeches a day like this. crowds. and i don't know, maybe i'm wrong about it, m.v.p. i'm wrong maybe it's that i didn't work hard and therefore i lost, but i really did, i worked you could possibly physically do. i don't think anybody -- and written this, i don't think anybody has ever worked harder in the last many of a i sidential campaign than did. no one. [applause] trump: i covered 17 states
10:44 pm
nd i went to maine, i needed one, because they all said you 270, right?to remember? or they would say, there is no 270 for donald. he'll not win the election. so i said, i'll get to 270. i'll going to go to maine, too, which is one. 2.s got -- it's called maine i went there and i got it. that one vote. right? [applause] i got that one vote but i went to maine and that's the beauty of the electoral system. the other, if you go with the popular vote, i would go, new california, back and forth, back and forth, it would be much easier. other blem is, every florida,ld you stop in you would stop in texas, you wouldn't see any place else, it
10:45 pm
would be so much easier, i think i would actually do better, but you would never see most of the country. and i never vote, appreciated it until now, how they had in , what mind, because at the time, they didn't want everybody going to york.n and new and everybody else would be forgotten. and now it's the same thing. it's genius. it's genius.ou, states.to 17 i went to states that, you know, go to.t wouldn't and they were great. i wouldn't to places, frankly, you wouldn't think about too much and they were incredible and they came through me. most of them really came through. you had the hillary saying that -- [boos]
10:46 pm
mr. trump: we won. right? we won. but yet the hillary people were on and they were saying we were state of in the florida. we have information, we're going to win. maybe their information was how many people voted illegally. information.s the but, of course, when i say that, they will say, isn't that a said?le thing that he isn't that terrible? you've got to look into that, folks. the problem is, when you win lorida by that much, there is nothing much they can do. you can't have people and numbers that's bigger than the number of people. so they said you can't win and we e going, you know, and end up breaking news. ladies and gentlemen, donald won the state of florida. and these people are saying -- [cheers]
10:47 pm
one guy, i hey had guess he was mid level and he was saying, we're going to win the state of florida. he's representing her. we're going to win the state of florida, we'll win north looking, but florida is strong and the announcer said excuse me one any, we have something breaking. breaking news. trump has won the state of florida. the guy is standing there like, what happened? said -- that i can't win north carolina. raised $2 way, they billion. hey spent so much more money than me. i spent like peanuts compared to spent.ey of rbudget and ahead schedule. [applause] aheadump: underbudget and of schedule, like we'll have our built and planes built and f-35s, one of the most expensive, we'll straighten but underbudget.
10:48 pm
in the old days, you have some eople that will tell you, when spend less money and win, that's much better than the other way. i had cases where i was tied -- but she had spent in a state like $50 million and i had spent like $2 millimeter. donald trump is not spending the money, and i'm saying, wait, that's good thing. understand. that's actually a good thing. that, if i can do that, it's a good thing. [applause] mr. trump: i remember in the primary in new hampshire, i love new hampshire, in new hampshire, i spent a tiny amount, almost i hing, and another person, can't say anymore, they are all my friends now, but another like $22 million, i spent nothing and won. won, ey said, before i like, this person was doing great because he was spending much more money. going to ah, but i'm
10:49 pm
win the state. so remember, for all the young spend less, when you money and you win, that's a good thing, all a bad right? trying to compress. so then the next state was north carolina. great. and they spent, they outspent me -- at least, but i had great i had my sons there and everybody. there.nd credible people and they came out and, again, breaking news. donald trump has won north carolina. that was unbelievable. then pennsylvania, we were doing so good in pennsylvania, 38 every republican for like years has lost pennsylvania. some large ridiculous number. and they always called it the bride that got away. i don't even know if that's when the y correct press says it. if i say it they will say it's correct, but i heard them say it so for them it's fine, right? because that got away
10:50 pm
you thought every republican for 30 years thought they won the state of pennsylvania. big state. and, they didn't. so i said, we're going to win pennsylvania. who d three congressmen were incredible. they said we're going to win but i didn't want to tell that to anybody because everybody they were going to win anyway. so we're looking and there is 1% by a lot, m leading and even if i lost a hundred no ent of the 1%, there was way i could lose the state. but they would not call the state. knew, in fact, i started accepting victory because if i win pennsylvania now, i win. and the other side is saying they are going to win pennsylvania but when they ooked at the numbers they understood it was over and then we had a surprise. breaking news, donald trump has the state of wisconsin. wisconsin. [applause] trump: people are saying, where did that come from? what happened?
10:51 pm
going to do were well there but we won it and now they are in trouble. really in trouble. saw, they w if you had the most beautiful stage, in fact, i wanted to swap stages through. around midway i wanted to maybe swap, they had hat beautiful picture of the country and magnificent -- you know, they -- she spent $7 fireworks, and they knew something was wrong. ne of their people, who is a high level guy, said we made a big mistake. we made a big mistake. going to lose. he was telling that to people. i felt we were going to win. they en all of a sudden canceled their fireworks, and i said, because you know what i found? fireworks just don't work when lose. do you agree with that? [applause] trump: did you ever see one of your football teams when they fireworks in the stadium? no. no, it's called depression.
10:52 pm
they canceled their fireworks and then just to be we sent an offer in, we offered to buy their fireworks dollar. cents on the but they had a very good company they had a great company, going to do their fireworks. we offered to buy it five cent and we never heard back. but they had this incredible, they took the convention center, i took sort of a small ballroom because if i lost, i wanted to get out. catch.uld be my come up, ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much. i really appreciate it, my folks, i i love you ove you, but it was a movement that didn't work. right? right? said, i want to thank my wife, i want to thank my family. right?, i'm out of here, so i didn't want to really have this huge expensive thing so i city but room in the then all of a sudden we started seeing we were going to win and we knew we were going to win
10:53 pm
knew we won pennsylvania even though they wouldn't call it. they called it at 3:00 in the morning, they should have called it at 11:30 in the evening. if you looked at the ratings, hey were so high they were making a fortune by not calling it, all right? won.then we before pennsylvania, the state said, oh, n, everyone and then they started having the i said it lasten night, they had one guy who with you really good on the maps, you about.hen i'm talking and that map was so red, it was so unbelievable, that map, you used to show it and it was really depressing, everything was blue, blue, blue, wall, rememberlue the blue wall, that was unbreakable, boy, did we shatter that wall, right? shattered that wall. was shattered. that wall will never be the same. we broke the wall. so we've won wisconsin. michigan and i'll never
10:54 pm
forget the guy. he was devastated, he never even thought of this. was like quivering, because he puts it on the map and the map turns red. donald trump has won the state of wisconsin. oh, no. donald trump, oh, no. oh, no. no. this, please check this. the state p has won of michigan. and it's very unfair to the pennsylvania, they never got the glory. it's like the guy, you know, for one yard and get the glory, they didn't get the glory. but we love our people in they were a because there for us, right? [applause] so now he goes, because they have been saying 270, is no way to get to remember? there is no path to 270. me the most they could get to was 269. remember that 269?
10:55 pm
never once got above, in their minds, 269? a lot of money, they don't know what the hell they are talking about, folks, i you. i never once, i never once i -- jeff will tell you, never once got above 269. months.ways it for that's where i got upset with texas. it.as, we're going to win so what happens is, that's why i kept going to maine. i needed that one. one.ded that so now what happens is, he's up, says s, wisconsin, he he goes there ow for hillary clin to of the united t states. and his great is president of the
10:56 pm
united states. [cheers and applause] mr. trump: it was pretty good nd some sportscasters on espn said that's as good as it gets in terms of, they called it littleinment and it is a entertainment, but, in another way it's not because, we're get to work, and now, in a certain way, hard work begins, and we're going to make great trade deals and make you o happy and so proud, and jeff sessions is going to make you so happy and so proud. [applause] trump: for years, the jobs out ealth have been ripped of our country. rich.n powers have gotten
10:57 pm
bleeding america dry, and not a lot of people know it better than the people of alabama and people of the south in general. because you know what's happened. but that's all behind us. up for the to stand american worker like no one has up for that worker. [applause] trump: our economic agenda three very d up in beautiful words. jobs. jobs. jobs. [applause] thatrump: there is a woman got very excited by those three words. right?xciting, though, that's why we're going to lower our business tax rate from 35% 15% and you're going to see things happen. we're one of the highest in the world right now, just about the highest, and we're going to be
quote
10:58 pm
and you're west going to see what's going to happen. it will be beautiful. also going to e killing job regulations and lift the the production of american energy including natural gas, and beautiful clean coal. we're going to put our miners work.o our miners are going back to work, folks. we're also going to rebuild america's crumbling boy, does ture, and, it need it. it needs it. we have spent $6 trillion in the middle east. rebuilt our country three times over. it's time, folks, with all of that, we're going to knock the isis.out of we have no choice! [cheers and applause]
10:59 pm
mr. trump: i'm asking congress construction of new roads, bridges, airports, railways, all across our ation and we'll put people back to work. it's time to help get americans off welfare and back into the labor market. rebuilding this country, with hands by american workers. follow istration will two very simple rules. buy american and hire american. [applause] trump: and we're going to go back to the old days. we're going back to the old days. usa.ber, made in the you remember it? you know, i did this last night. this again because it's like a free poll. you know these characters, they will spend a million dollars for
11:00 pm
giveroximately and you can them a better answer. is it made in america or made in usa? so let's go, america first. let's go -- ca -- first.et's go america you say who likes made in america? [cheers and applause] likes made in the usa? [loud cheers and applause] [chanting usa] trump: okay. can we do one more poll? hat the hell, it's raining and miserable but let's do another poll. who the hell cares. we're all soaking wet by now so doesn't matter, right?
