so what does that mean for the active people who want to buy guns or on guns? let's find out. the problem i think we have in maryland and was legislatures is the all state laws are not same. we were only able to do it because of the fact that we have a democrat. itpushed very hard to get done. but, there were over 1300 people -- [indiscernible] >> we also met with daniel webster. the most important piece of the bill in my mind is the handgun license department we have an maryland. arehe gun laws of maryland -- have closed a lot of loopholes of people in other

states. it is difficult to transfer guns in maryland without the state looking at it. it is very important. some states have laws where you betweenly transfer guns individuals without any checks. maryland does a pretty good job of restricting that and making sure that commonsense measures are put in place to keep them out of the hands of people that should not have them. out what the 2013 firearm safety act is. experts -- this is their response. >> unfortunately, at the national level, some of these states have less gun laws. i do not think it is much of a movement. >> the need to keep guns out of

the hands of people should not have them weathered be due to mental in-laws or ties to -- mental illness or ties to criminal activity. >> the quote military style row -- rifle, it is a name. it does not really address how the gun works. so, i think the ban on military is still -- military assault-style weapons is misguided that was attempted, think. >> we need to get rid of the military style assault weapons. get rid of the high-capacity magazines. >> the war on guns divides the nation and it was one of the biggest issues in the 2016 presidential campaign and still is. the national rifle association endorsed mr. donald trump for president of the united states. the experts we interviewed had a very different opinion on gun control. >> i think in a marie has been

an extremely successful lobbying thep as far as changing public discourse when it comes to gun rights and gun ownership. they have basically been very good at selling people on fear. >> guns are in animate objects. so they are neither good nor bad. just like any other in animate object in the hand of somebody who is good, they will be used for a clue. and some because that, as we have seen recently in the news, you can be devastating and create terror with all kinds of inanimate objects, not just weapons. you can use trucks, you can use planes, you can use pressure coders. so you know, people are clever. and if they are badly and clever, they do not need guns to do negative things.
