appropriations reporter for bloomberg. what is the status of the talks on the longer-term 2017 spending measure? ms. nancy ognanovich: those talks have an going on for weeks if not months and we are looking intense weekend session. possibly spilling into next week to nail down the final details of the on the -- the omnibus appropriations bill. house and senate republican leaders want to bring it to chambers next week. about 11talking unfinished bills in that package. the bills for fiscal year 2017 that started last october 1. plus, possibly a supplemental spending bill to cover defense and border security provisions that have been requested by the president. and you never know, there could be some other things tucked in there as well. we will not know until we see the package.

blocks might be a head for this longer-term measure? ms. nancy ognanovich: it depends on the disposition over the weekend of so-called poison pill ridersriders, that we see everyr in these appropriation bills. that is something that senate majority leader mitch mcconnell is very much in favor of as well as democrats. those are some issues. also, defense spending and how an increase for defense be metg could possibly with similar increases on the domestic side of the ledger. those are things that democrats are demanding. how will any work on the longer-term cr impact republican efforts to bring up their health care replacement bill? late lastognanovich: night, there was a decision to hold off on that because if they had tried to force a vote on the
