dc. the final score, 11-2, the democrats sweeping the republicans. more than 20,000 tickets were sold for tonight's game, raising more than $1 million for charity. the democrats getting their trophy testes democrats giving their trophy to steve scalise, injured in a shooting at practice in alexandria. the hospital has released an update on his condition. earlier today, he underwent a second surgery related to his internal injuries, a broken bone in his leg, but he remains in critical condition. he has improved in the last 24 hours. he is expected to have additional surgery. 24,959 people attended the game tonight, a record-setting attendance for the congressional baseball game since the first one was held in 1909. we take a look at how the evening started at next park -- nats park tonight. this is about 30 minutes.

the two police officers were wounded. but were obviously not seriously wounded. and are here tonight. unfortunately others are still in the hospital. they are most concerned at the moment about steve scalise. >> we're almost ready for baseball, folks. crowd is ready. >> one nice side effect to the extended pregame ceremony that often takes the crowd a while to fill in. most people in their seats by now, able to be here for the ceremonial first pitch and actual first pitch, which should be just around the corner. >> as you can imagine, security tightened around the ballpark tonight, getting in d.c., the streets around the ballpark are basically gridlocked tonight.
