us perhaps that your priority is the commonwealth, or china, or the eu27 or latin america? mr. johnson: if you look to what we said in the global britain document, you will find enough to give you - -- mr. tugendhat: you reiterated the policy of the foreign office for the last 60 years in the global britain report. mr. johnson: we think that there are three key areas. that does not necessarily mean that we will not be opening posts in other areas, but we think that there are three key areas where the u.k. needs to be particularly active. you very trump: thank much everybody. we have some good news to report. tremendous trade deals are being made with other countries. we are negotiating very long and hard, but very quickly.
1:26 pm
is, deal with south korea according to secretary ross, is very close to being finished, and we are going to have a wonderful deal with a wonderful ally. we are getting very close to it. it was a deal causing a lot of problems for our country in terms of employment and lots of other things. i might ask secretary ross to say a few words about that, and then we are going to get onto this ridiculous situation that took place over the last week, so secretary ross? secretary ross: thank you, mr. president. we believe we are relatively close to a pretty comprehensive resolution with the south korean government. it will encompass, if it goes through, both the 232's and broader trade issues, and we
1:27 pm
hope by sometime next week to be able to have a real announcement. trump: thank you. i appreciate it. time we negotiated something like this, and as you know, it has always in a problem for our country. they get together and they create a series of documents that no one has been able to read because it was just a done. you tell me who can read that quickly. it takes a long time to read it. for the last eight years, deep defense cuts have undermined our national security. if you look at what is taken out, they have hollowed our readiness as a military unit and put america at really grave risk . my highest duty is to keep america safe, nothing more

important. the omnibus bill reverses this dangerous defense, as crazy at s it has been, as difficult as it has been, as much opposition to the military as we have had from the democrats -- and it has been tremendous. i tried to explain to them, the military is for republicans, democrats, and everybody else. it is for everybody, but we have tremendous opposition to creating really what will be by far the strongest military that we have ever had. we have had that from the democrats, so if we take military, theye want something in many cases oft are but wasted some money. it is very bad for our country. we're looking to do funding for our final fight in certain areas. as you know, we have got just about 100% of our land back from
1:29 pm
isis. we have troop increases necessary to accomplish what we have to do, and we have a pay increase for our troops. this will be the largest pay increase for our incredible people the number of decade, and increases total defense spending by more than $60 billion from last year and funds the addition of tanks, planes, and submarines. we have submarines being built, the likes of which there is in the world. our military equipment is the best in the world, and one thing you saw two days ago in saudi arabia, and other countries, saudi arabia is an example of buying hundreds of williams of dollars worth of our quitman. -- hundreds of as a matter of national security i have signed this omnibus budget bill.
1:30 pm
there are a lot of things i am unhappy about in this bill, a lot of things that we should not have had in this, but we were in a sense were forced to have. there are some things we should have in the bill but i say to congress i will never sign another bill like this again. i'm not going to do it again. old. only hours some don't even know what is in it. .1.3 trillion president obama signed one that was larger, which i'm sure he was not too happy with either. it became so big because we need to take care of our military and the democrats who don't believe in that, added things they wanted to get their votes. we have to get rid of the filibuster rule.
1:31 pm
we have to get rid of the filibuster rule and go to 51 votes in the senate. if we are going to have sustained continued success. daca recipients have been treated extremely badly by the democrats. we wanted to include daca and have them in this bill. .00,000 people it could be more. we wanted to include daca in this bill. the democrats would not do it. to prevent the omnibus situation from ever happening again i'm calling on congress to give me a line item veto for all government spending bills, and the senate must end the filibuster rule. we have to get great legislation
1:32 pm
approved and without the filibuster rule it will happen like magic. situationaddress the on border security, which i call national defense, i call it itpping drugs, and i call illegal immigration. it is all of those things. importantefense is because having a strong border areem including a wall, we in a position militarily that is advantageous. before i get off of that subject i would like to ask secretary mattis to talk about what we have accomplished in terms of the military. there has never been anything like we have been able to do.
1:33 pm

men and women of dhs. they told us how to build the wall and we will continue to work with them to make sure the wall is where and how we need it , and to make sure it serves the american people and the security of this nation. we work with congress to close the dangerous loopholes the president has mentioned and to increase overall security. we thank those in congress who support homeland security. i will make myself available to them. apartment andhe give it tools and resources it needs to execute the mission the american people have asked us to do. trump: thank you. elements in the bill that we did not want. areook at a few of them, we

everybody in different directions. senators have been steadfast on their fight for the border and steadfast for their fight on the military. billionlso spending $6 on as you know the areas forms of drug control, helping people that are it did did. it is a terrible problem. this will be a record. areasl be suing certain what they have done for the opioids and bring them at a federal level. the level of drugs that are being put out there and the power of this addiction is hard to believe. people come out drug addicts.
