10:34 pm
you don't see things like that as bad as the news is around the world, you just do not see those images. we are studying that situation extremely closely. we are meeting with our military and everybody else. we will be making some major decisions over the next 24 to 48 hours. we are very concerned. when a thing like that can happen, this is about humanity. we are talking about humanity. it can't be allowed to happen. so we will be looking at that , barbaric act and studying what is going on. we are trying to get people in there. as you know, it has been surrounded. so it is hard to get people in. so not only has it been hit, but it has been surrounded. and if they are innocent, why
10:35 pm
aren't they going to allow people to go in? as you know, they are claiming they did not take the attack. so, if it is russia, if it is syria, if it is a ran, if it is all of them together, we will figure it out and we will have the answers quite soon. so we are looking at that very, very strongly and very seriously. i would also like to provide an update on trade negotiations. we have a situation with china where we have a very good relationship with china. i think we will maintain that relationship. i am very good friends with president xi. i have great respect for president xi. and, as you know, i spent two days in china and the president spent two days with us at mar-a-lago in florida. they were crutcher great days full -- they were four great days.
10:36 pm
with that being said, china is has been taking advantage of us for many years. since the start of the wto. they have done a number on this country. i don't blame china. i blame the people running our country. i blame presidents. i blame representatives. i blame negotiators. we should of been able to do what they did. we did not do it. they did. and, it is the most lopsided set of trade rules and regulations that anybody has ever seen. with that being said, we have many of them. nafta was a horrible deal. we are renegotiating it. we will see what happens. we're strongly renegotiating nafta. if you look at the eu, they have tremendous trade barriers. we have that deals with everyone we are close to finishing a deal with south korea, which was a horrible deal. it was going to give us 200,000
10:37 pm
jobs. well, that did not exactly happened. it gave them 200,000 jobs. we lost jobs. it was horrible deal. that is being renegotiated. live have a long wait to go. we have made tremendous progress. we are fairly close on nafta. if we do not make the right deal on nafta, we will terminate nafta and we will make the right deal after that. but we have a chance to make a deal on nafta. as i said, north korea and south korea situation, which confiscated, the deal, we have south korea. i think it is going to be a very fair deal. we want a fair deal. we do not have their deals. way, as you by the probably have seen, we have been in touch with north korea. we will be meeting with them sometime in may or early june
10:38 pm
and i think there will be great respect paid by both parties and hopefully we will be able to de-nuking ofn the north korea. they have said so. we have said so. hopefully it will be a relationship that is much different than it has been for many, many years. this should have been done by other presidents and they decided they didn't do it. they couldn't have done it. but, i it would have been a lot easier if it were done five years ago, 10 years ago, 20 years ago. a lot easier than now. but we have a meeting that is set up with north korea, so that will be very exciting i think for the world. it is a very exciting thing for the world. we will be talking about opioid today. opioid destruction and drug destruction. as you know, we strengthened up our southern border. last year we had record low
10:39 pm
numbers. this year they've gone up to a certain extent because our economy is good. people are trying to come into a good economy. we are putting the national guard and military at the border, we are beefing up the border. we have done a fantastic job. ice has done a fantastic job. thate will take a situation. we need a wall. whether you are republican or democrat, we need a wall. it will stop your drug flow. it will knock the hell out of the drug flow. we do not want a lot of people that we don't want in this country coming into this country. right now we are putting the military, the national guard, and we are going to have strong borders. we have strong borders now but they will be much stronger. with that, the cabinet meeting will begin. we will be discussing a lot of different elements of what is going on. the country is doing very well. we have created 3 million jobs since the election. we have 700,000 jobs in the last number of months. the numbers are starting to come
10:40 pm
out from companies, corporations and they are doing incredibly well. it is very solid. our country is on solid footing. when we do a deal with china, which probably we will, if we don't they will have to pay high taxes to do business with our country. it is a possibility. but if we do a deal with china, if during the course of the negotiation, they want to hit the farmers because they think that hits me, i wouldn't say that is nice, but our farmers are great patriots. these are great patriots. they understand that they are doing this for the country. and we will make it up to them. and in the and they will be much stronger than her right now. do not forget, farmers have been trending downward over eight years. in some cases, significantly. so between that and china and
10:41 pm
all of the things we are doing, we will make that much better than they have ever been. but during this time, there is work to be done. offfarmers will be at her than they ever were. -- better off than they ever were. it will take a little while to get there, but it could be very quick actually. i say it is not nice when they hit the farmers specifically because they think it hits me. with that being said, we are doing very well on trade and trade deals. i think deals will be made. i think we will make deals with a lot of countries and of taken advantage of us. we will be reporting back to everybody. we will start our cabinet meeting now. thank you for being here. we will make a decision on all of that. in
