what i'm focused on doing is what we told the people we're going to do, what they elected us to do. the discharge petition outcome will likely be something of they to the mandate election. that is what i'm concerned about. that is why we are trying to stop it and get a good bill that we can get 218 republicans to support, that the president is supportive of, and consistent with what the people sent us here to do. >> "washington journal" continues. host: the full interview on newsmakers tomorrow with jim jordan at 10:00 a.m. eastern time and then again at 6:00 p.m. eastern time, newsmakers. for this half hour, 25 minutes before we and they show, we will take her calls. you can talk about anything you have heard this morning or anything on your mind. and while the folks need for day two of the g7 summit, there is this headline in "the wall street journal" --

9:37 am
the things that there were talking about when they run for election. like, what is the status of the health care, the obamacare deal now? what is that status? is the still obamacare? what is it? repeal and all of that stuff that has happened, i don't know because you don't anything about it. what is the status of the wall in the tax cuts they said they gave us, what do normal people whatever- like for me, tax bricks i got, which is about $100, that is being caught up in gas now. other than that, i think you guys do super job. i really appreciate the time to talk. host: thank you, bob, for taking the time to call in. in a memorial day speech when donald trump was giving his speech to the country. they should have taken that microphone out of his hand. that was the perfect opportunity flag up there and -- the was right there. everything was there. they could have made her point well. but they did not do it then. they want to do it at a ballgame. the movement has lost its moral authority on all of its arguments there. those of the points i wanted to make. host: nick is in new mexico. your showsnjoyed this morning. i said you're wondering whether or not there is a correlation between the number of suicides in the amount of communication we depend on today. if you go to a restaurant and you sit and watch families, five or six people, they're all on their cell phone and not talking to each other.
9:42 am
furthermore, most of what is on television, particularly these cable news programs, are filled and idiotic commentators whether that and the fact that people spend hours and hours watching television, looking at their cell phones, whether that has any effect on their mental health. that is my comment. host: caller referring to a cdc report that came out this week that said in 2016, nearly 45,000 older diedged 10 or by suicide. suicide is the 10th leading cause of death and is one of just three leading causes that are on the rise. that has been reported a lot in the last couple of days. the cdc puts out a vital signs report, and that is where he came from, from the website. they posted this one minute video on the issue. want to talk about but i'm going to keep it short and sweet. for all of you that don't believe there was any kind of russian collusion between the president and russia, you need to ask yourself why is he so upset with jeff sessions? all he does is rant and rave about how he would have picked somebody else if he had known cuseions was going to re himself because he needs summit in there to protect him. he wants somebody that is loyal to him. anything wronge than he does need to worry about having an attorney general in their that will protect him. host: thank you for calling. ken is on the line from indiana. caller: hello.
9:56 am
i have a question about all of the stuff i hear from giuliani about disrespecting stormy daniels and other supporters. i don't understand why they don't say anything about the herle like mr. trump paid to do what he did. why is he any better than that? i think the john's, which he is, is worse. host: all right. "new york times" seizing reporters records is fundamental threat, this from a press group that federal prosecutors seized years worth of emails and phone records from a "new york times" reporter drew criticism from groups which expressed outrage at the first instance of the trump administration's pursuing the private communications of a journalist. the committee to protect journalists called the move a fundamental threat to press freedom. single day is the ignorance of our president, how he has no interest in american history, the constitution, who our friends really are, or any of these things. so it is frightening as we have, in the last 20 or 30 years, divided the country in terms of the kind of news they get or misinformation that so many people don't realize that he has no knowledge of what he is saying or what he is doing, and that he is leading us into the sea. that just so extraordinary we are against canada and great britain and france and all of our friends, and we are pro-russia and for dictators. -- pro dictators. i do believe, if he does get elected in 2020, which is a frightening., because my depression at this 500 a stage
