money, i was one of them. i did this because i wanted people to trust that in -- and that at the day, every vote i take is to purely benefit the people back home who gave me the opportunity to serve. that is what government should be. when we get money out of politics and ensure safe elections, we were on the trust of the public so they know we are working for them, not special interests or corporations. in a system that works for the people, we will deliver outcomes that work for all of us. we will lower the cost of health care and out-of-control prices for prescription drugs. we will rebuild the u.s. infrastructure. we will finally advance common sense bipartisan solutions to prevent gun violence. we will fight discrimination, has the dream act, and take the first step toward conference of immigration reform. now more than ever, this caucus is committed to delivering for real people across this country. we are changing the game into doing it by prioritizing legislation like hr1.

i am so excited to be part of the freshman class that is larger and more diverse than ever before. we have more women serving in the 116th congress then in any previous session. the demographic shifts are not a coincidence. they are a call to action. we were elected to office because we are not insiders, we actually representative of the public we are representing. people want change and they want it now. we don't have time for party infighting and we allow communities reform so that they want to can trust in their government to deliver for them when they need it most. i look forward to working to pass hr1 not just in the house but to ensure the senatestakes as well. let's get to work. thank you. >> with the new congress takes office in january, it will have the youngest, most diverse freshman class in recent history. new congress, new leaders. watch it live on c-span starting
