nuclear agreement. >> we have had an intimate and productive conversation overlooking the walls of jerusalem. it reminded me how deep and profound your ties are to the jewish state. i gave you a bible as a gift. i said people of the book have not had a better friend. i mean it. myant to express appreciation for our personal friendship and everything that went along with it. that i am saying is meant from the heart. the first thing i should do is condolences -- my on u.s. servicemen lost.

you know the pain of the loss of the people that were killed last week in the tragic accident. i sent a note but i want to say to you. they killed with fellow peace makers from france and the czech republic. so we honor them and our thoughts and prayers are with their families. mike, we worked together closely for these past four years, when you first c.i.a. director and secretary of state and from those two unique advantage points you have seen evidence of what i have been saying for many years that the united states of america has no better friend than the state of israel. and you can attest to that in a variety of ways. but you also worked hard to prove the other thing that i'm saying and contribute it to personally, that israel that no

better friend in the world than the united states of america. and over the last four years under president trump and his remarkable team led by you and ambassador freidman and jared kushner and others, israel he with the u.s. has reached unprecedented heights. thanks to president trump, the u.s. recognizes the embassy moved here. thanks to president trump, the us recognized golan heights and pulled out of the dangerous nuclear deal with iran and crippling sanctions in the regime. thanks to president trump the united states proposed the first plan for peace between israelis and palestinians and thanks to president trump, israel was able to forge peace with three arab

earl countries. -- arab countries. israel is deeply grateful for all that president trump has done with you and the others of the team to strengthen israel and advance peace and israel is grateful to you, mike, for your unwavering support. under your leadership in the c.i.a. and state department, you strengthened the alliance between israel and the united states. in your tenure at the c.i.a., intelligence cooperation was made stronger than other and enhanced the security of both of our countries. u.s. representatives at the u.n. and other international forums have defended israel with no apologetics and no artificial correctives. just defended israel and defended what is right and true.

america has stood up to the perversion of justice at the i.c.c. and i thank you for your personal involvement in all these things. everything that i said involves your personal contribution as well and u.s. rejected the assumptions about the legal status of israeli communities. thanks to your tremendous efforts to carry president trump's massive campaign. iran's feet have been held to the fire and seen a reduction in the amount of support they have given to their various proxies in the region. your 12 points set the standard for what iran needs to do if it wants to be treated like a normal country. those who claim that your 12 points are either unnecessary or unrealistic want to give iran a free pass, a free pass on iran

atrocious human rights record and support for terrorism and aggression in the region, a free pass on iran's missile development and worst of all a free pass on iran's plan to develop nuclear weapons with the purpose of conquering the middle east. the tyrants of tehran deserve no free passes. israel is grateful to you, i am grateful to you. thank you, mike, for your tremendous friendship and your invaluable contribution to our alliance and to israel's security and to the expansion of the circle of peace. thank you, friend, and hope to see you next year in jerusalem. secretary pompeo: thank you. mr. prime minister, it is an honor and joy to be with you today.

i had a chance to walk through the city of david. you and i met looking out over the old state. the peace, the increased prosperity and reduced risk to citizens across the region and hearing what we have accomplished together is historic and you should be proud to have led your work and president trump is proud of the work we have done alongside you. you went through the list, whether it is the simple fact of recognizing the reality of jerusalem is the true capital of israel. crazy that the united states hadn't done this for decades and moved our embassy there. how simple, how right and just. i remember the stories that if we did this, but in fact peace

is what has followed. today, i'll visit the golan heights and the simple recognition as part of israel and president trump made it historically, recognition of the reality and then you talked about the state department took the wrong view of settlements and took a view that didn't recognize the history of this special place and instead today, the united states state department stands strongly with the recognition that settlements can be done in a way that are lawful, appropriate and proper. and the accords and i'm hopeful there will be more. because of your good work and the good work of the american team and great leaders in those three countries that did the right thing and i'm confident this will continue. people have come to recognize across this region, recognize

the state of israel and a great wonderful partner for great things economic and academics, security. i am confident this one way ratchet towards peace will continue. and i want to make one announcement with respect to a decision by the state department that we will regard the campaign as anti-semitic. it seems like a statement of fact. but we will immediately take steps to identify organizations that engage in hateful misconduct and withdraw support for such groups when the time is right. prime minister netanyahu: simply wonderful. secretary pompeo: we stand with

others and we are committed to combatting it. our record speaks for itself. america stands with israel. the commitment we made to the jewish state will continue and that was after our conversation this morning and talked about how to protect people from the regime in tehran. they rain and should not take for granted. and they are the state sponsor. the u.s. unleashed new sanctions on senior officials. actions mark that one year anniversary of massacre in the city. citizens who were peacefully protesting their government's abuses.
8:50 pm
we stand with the arabian people -- iranian people against those abuses. we want peace and security and for israel and every respect. these landmark agreements we have secured give new hope for the israelis and palestinians to end their conflict. i conveyed the decision by the government of israel to begin discussions on the boundary for which we are acting as a mediator and i hope this long standing dispute can be helped. one more point. in august, the u.s. supported the renewal of a mission but demanded conditions. for too long, hezbollah has enjoyed total of movement through the mandated areas of control.
8:51 pm
with iran's support and arsenal, fired missiles in israel. dug tunnels under the border and more. the united states cannot abide by these actions. the most recent renewal of the mandate included new attacks reporting requirements of new attacks against peacekeepers and investigations. we are hopeful that these important steps will ensure that there can be a mission that fulfills its mandate. if not, we will have to move in a different direction. mr. prime minister, it's always an honor to be here with you and visit israel. this is a place that has a special place in my heart and the heart of so many americans. bless you and thank you for your good work alongside the strong -- trump administration. i wish all of us many, many more years of successful partnership between our two countries. >> thank you.
