was corrupt, to fight back against the corruption, because and iis so much of it, can't believe you try to sweep it underneath the rug. i think 73 million people like me want to fight back. that is what i am going to do. i cannot sit back and complain about it and not do nothing about it. host: what you are talking about is he can object during the certification on january 6. as a member of the house, he would need a member of the senate to join him in the objection, and if that happens, then the two chambers will debate the objections. they can vote on it. both chambers would have to agree to the objections, and it would be very unlikely that a democratically controlled house under nancy pelosi -- caller: please don't ever say never because this is a different world we live in. i'm a 60-year-old woman.

republicans, (202) 748-8001. independents, (202) 748-8002. as you are calling and we want to keep you updated on the latest here on capitol hill when it comes to the coronavirus relief negotiations. all the momentum is around the 908 billion dollar bipartisan package that we have been talking about over the past week or so. intopackage is now split two different parts, a 740 $8 billion package that includes new unemployment benefits, small business aid to other benefits that had i partisan support, as described by the post. the second bill includes the provisions that are the most divisive among lawmakers, liability protections for firms and 160 billion dollars for state aid and local governments with the expectation that both of those provisions could be excluded from a final deal to secure passage of the more popular larger package there.

one of those members of the senate who has been leading this effort, this bipartisan bill, joe mansion, spoke to reporters yesterday about the bill and this is what he had to say. [video clip] >> bipartisanship and compromise is alive and well in washington, contrary to what you have been hearing. we have proven that. within one month, taking something that hadn't been on the table, talks were stalled completely and take into fruition to have a bill presented and basically what it does is it takes care of those who are unemployed. that's an emergency. running out of unemployment checks. we have 16 weeks at $300 per week for that. food and nutrition assistance, even going into our food banks because we have nontraditional people who have never been to a food bank before needing food assistance now and we want to make sure they have the opportunity and we want to make sure that we have shelter assistance, rent, eviction

notices, we wanted to make sure that that was in this piece of legislation. small business debt relief is in that. people will talk more extensively about that. then we wanted to talk about student loan forbearance. that's in here. and then it goes on and on, as pages. see, almost 600 so, what we have been able to do is put this 700 and 48 billion dollar bill, a $908 billion package still, but the emergency needs and the assistance for the american people is something we will continue to fight for. host: joe mansion of west virginia there. we will keep you updated throughout the week as those negotiations continue and the clock ticks down on that government funding deadline. remember last week when congress gave itself one more week to come to a deal and if a deal isn't reached by friday evening, there could be a government shutdown with members trying to
