virginia said that the blame falls on the biden administration itself. >> since president biden took office, the prices of crude oil and many other commodities have risen to the highest level in more than a decade. as a direct result of president biden's energy agenda, prices have risen. on day one, the administration made clear it would shut down energy production by canceling the keystone pipeline. later, the president impose a moratorium on development on federal lands and increased pressure from regulators. he has no plans of stopping his assault on the energy industry, even while gas prices skyrocket, president biden continues to announce new taxes designed to shut down domestic production.

around the world and other nations to make sure that refugees are safe, resettled, and able to be productive. host: let me ask you about richard burr's pushback to the cdc. he asked the biden administration for science behind title 42 decision. in that letter to the cdc, the senator said, i believe i understand the administrations politics driving the decision, but i do not believe there is adequate science that would allow such a decision to be made. cdc assesses risk of transmission in mexico at level three. all countries in central america are at or above level three, except those that they recommend u.s. travelers entirely avoid

due to lack of information. your thoughts on his argument? rep. correa: senator burke makes some good points. why would you apply 42 to one set of refugees and not the ukrainians? they are both going to mexico. mexico, it is a little known secret, they are bearing in light of the brunt of the refugee challenge. my directive is that to address 42 from a scientific but look at the challenge as a whole. when you suspend 42, the administration is going to allow a bigger comprehensive policy in terms of addressing the refugee crisis, but to do it with 42 i think is random. whether it is scientific or not,

that not all refugees are being treated equally. remember, afghan refugees, remember that war? we still have refugees from afghanistan we cannot process fast enough. we need to figure out what our refugee policy is make sure it is defective, deals with the law quickly. i was in mexico two weeks ago, coming from central sukkot, landed at the airport. i was greeted by two ukrainian refugees with ukrainian flakes saying, welcome. they were there to welcome ukrainian refugees in mexico and preparing them to move them to the border so they could ask for refugee status. the last couple of days, in

this out so america comes out a winner, that this has two b democratic as well as republican solution. the last time we had meaningful immigration reform in this country, it was that great california, ronald reagan who stepped up and did the right thing. host: reporting on the impact of title 42. we had this during the pump administration, continuing during the biden administration, they write that through february of this year, 1.7 million expulsions have been carried out, 1.2 million during the biden administration. during the top administration, 83% of migrant encounters at the border led to expulsion, compared to 53% so far. what changes one title 42 gets lifted? rep. correa: that is key.
7:41 am
if you cannot lift 42, you have to have a program in place to execute. if you think about that central american migrant at the border, there is $10,000 per person to smuggle them to get to the border. they sell everything in their life to move forward. it up a of the women, by the time to get to the border, are either raped or sexually assaulted. it is inhumane, the system that is in place. i would propose that these refugees are able to apply for refugee status in their home country, but it has to be a meaningful process that refugees understand that there is hope for somebody to look at their case. this can be part of the solution. we have to work with mexico, other central american countries and other nations to address
