we are told will be beginning shortly. the president and vice president will be introduced and they will each have a speaking segment. president trump will also be signing nine executive orders, some dealing with immigration. he will sign more tonight at the white house when he gets there. it is 5:00 on the east coast right now. donald trump has been president again for five hours. some of the events at capital one arena include the new york police department palm beach police, new york military academy, florida firefighter's, the marching band from stewart's creek high school, the middletown high school marching band from ohio, jd vance's hometown, and mississippi valley state university band. we are expecting introductions to begin shortly. live coverage on c-span.

this is the second event of the day that will be indoors, actually the third -- the inauguration, the parade, and this is a speech and annotated parade you will be seeing at capital one arena in downtown washington, about a mile from the white house. but we know the president and vice president are in capital one arena, and we are waiting on the ceremony to start. there will be introduced, you will hear some bands, and this is the army band playing right now as kind of a warm-up act. the president and vice president are expected to speak. president trump is do to sign some executive orders. they have moved a desk out there with nine executive orders that he will be signing. he will be talking about those, i am sure, in his talk. after that, it is off to the white house and then to the inaugural balls tonight.

i am very honored to be requested by our president to be your parade announcer. it is great to be here with you. i have to say it is a bit of a different format, but our president wanted to keep us safe, keep us warm. i can tell you the talent that are going to be going through these doors and into this arena, it is going to get hot in here tonight! thank you for joining us as we celebrate this historic occasion. the ceremony is about to begin. we are going to get things underway. are you with family -- if you are with family and friends, grab a seat and a snack. we are going to get this show on the road.

[cheers and applause] and they are here to pay homage to live, selfless community service, and sacrifice of corey comperatore. he was passed fire chief to the buffalo volunteer fire company. he died during the assassination attempt on the life of president trump in butler, pennsylvania on july 13, 2024. the formation consists of pennsylvania state police, local police, county sheriff's, emergency services unit, ems, 911 radio dispatch, and hospital personnel, who all heroically stepped into action during the horrific attack. they are also paying tribute to the courageous service of first responders nationwide.

[applause] and i would like to describe to you some of the things we are doing and how it informs on

president trump's policies. first of all, it is an honor to stand before you today. as i reflect on the enormity of the role that president trump has task me with, i am reminded of the privilege to serve under the leadership of my boss, president donald j. trump. his presidency has provided a clear, bold vision for the middle east, and it is this vision that guides every step i take in the mission. president trump's leadership has redefined what is possible in the pursuit of progress instability in the middle east. his decisive, pragmatic approach ensures that even the most entrenched conflicts are met with fresh perspectives and innovative strategies.

his policies have already delivered remarkable successes such as yesterday's release of hostages in gaza. it's not always easy. there are moments of deep challenge and frustration, decades of mistrust cannot be undone overnight, yet i take comfort in knowing that i am not in this alone. president trump's clarity of vision ensures that i never have to question what success looks like. his leadership provides the confidence and direction necessary to navigate these complexities. as we move forward, my commitment is to continue the work of advancing president trump's vision for the middle east whether through expanding the abraham pease accords, fostering economic development or facilitating dialogue between long-standing adversaries, my focus remains on an -- on actionable results.

several have children who are still in captivity. there's an american family here who's loved one is scheduled to come out in 14 days and they are going to be meeting the president tonight, so let's give them all some love and a big hand. come on up. [applause]

one had her head blown off in her hand indeed was blown off. she was trying to defend herself from a bullet being fired. a bullet knocked off her hand. you look at it and it's a disgrace. we never stop praying for you and we are glad you are reunited with your friends and families and god bless you all and some of them are just saying my son is gone but please just bring home his body, right, steve? many of you have told me that. and it should have never happened. and would not have happened. i also want to express my gratitude to the hundreds of thousands of proud american patriots who came from across the country to join us in the celebration. it's a celebration of a big win.

we need negotiators in this country but so many of the people on this stage, we had not only family members. she was the head of the republican party along with my friend michael. stand up. what a job they did. they worked so hard. they knew there would be rigging but we said we would make it too big to rig and we did. we won every swing state by a lot. we won the popular vote by millions and millions of votes. we won the whole bowl of waxing that we are going to drill into all the things we have wanted to do and bring your prices down and make our country safe.

executive order. first i will revoke nearly 80 destructive and radical executive actions of the previous administration, maybe one of the worst -- not one of them, the worst. any one that would allow millions of people to pour over our borders from jails, prisons, mental institutions, insane asylums, gang members taken off the streets of venezuela and deposited in our country. crime in venezuela is down 74% because they took their criminals and gave them to us through an open border policy of the previous administration. all over the world, they are and seeing their prisons and mental institutions into our country -- they are emptying their prisons and mental institutions into our country.

it stops as of one :00 this afternoon, ok? so i am revoking nearly 80 destructive, radical executive actions of the previous administration. they will all be melon void within about five minutes. is that them? next, gain immediate control of the vast federal bureaucracy. i will implement an immediate regulation freeze, which. biden bureaucrats from continuing to regulate. most of them are being fired. they are gone. any new irs agents. we will also require the federal -- that federal workers must return to the office in person. we are going to take the 88,000 people they hired to go after you with guns, by the way, they are allowed to use guns and harass you like they were, so many other people, remember this, ok? do you remember my statement? does anyone remember that little statement? i think we won nevada because of that statement, but they went out and harassed you over the tips. in other words, we are restoring control of the government to the people. let's see if they would like to work on the border because that's where we want them. you want an apple, anybody? pay twice what you did two years ago. we will put money in your pocket and bring back the american dream. to reduce energy costs and liberator economy. we have more oil and gas than anywhere in the world and we are going to use it. we are not going to do it. big ugly windmills, they ruin your neighborhood. did you see up in new england with the whales? you see what's happening? they had two whales killed in about 14 years. last year and the year before total they had 28. so if you are into whales, you no one windmills either -- you don't want windmills either. they are the most expensive form of energy you can have by far. and they are all made in china, by the way, practically all of them.

the fact that it didn't allow people to see it on the outside? caller: i think that was kind of disappointing, and i understand the temperature situation but there's also a security issue to it too. and a kind of understand the reason for doing that. i know i probably wouldn't want to spend that time out in the cold. we had a president who had taken an oath and was sworn in and then died a month or so later. host: william henry harrison, 8000 plus words in his inaugural address. he took ill after that and a month after being sworn in, he was deceased. as you can see, the president's motorcade is now headed from capital one arena, which is between seventh and ninth streets, heading to 1600 pennsylvania, about a mile from where he is. so we will watch this as we take your calls. this is the presidential motorcade heading to the white house.

the president started his day at blair, went to st. john's church, and then to the white house to have tea with the bidens. that is all within walking distance of each other down there, and then of course the bidens and the trumps road together to the capitol, spend the majority of the day at the capitol inside, now just leaving capitol one arena, the basketball and hockey stadium in downtown d.c. tessa, independent, good evening to you. what is on your mind? caller: well, i'm a little frustrated to hear some of the things, like bringing the party together, making america great come that sort of thing, everyone is supposed to be unified. and during that time he chose to
