evening. while we wait for more festivities to take place, the commander in chief ball right there on your screen is the president and first lady's first stop this evening. they are expected to attend three inaugural balls. there are several balls happening in washington. three official ones and numerous other unofficial ones as the party gets going here in the nation's capital. susan in bellville, illinois an independent. good evening to you. caller: good evening to you as well. i listened to the list of executive orders that donald trump was signing and i have to say pretty frightening series of documents. i did have two points to make. i will try to make them as quickly as possible. i know there is other people waiting on the line.
10:02 pm
but most of the ones they described, they were like campaign promises. like one of them was executive order that we will make the cost-of-living affordable. without telling you how that's going to happen. that is just a campaign promise. that's not an order, that's not a directive. host: susan in illinois talking about the executive orders. he was in the oval office right away this evening after leaving the inaugural parade at the capital one arena. he went to the white house, signed several executive orders, including one to lower the costs for americans. talked about energy policy and of course the news that several outlets are reporting on is that he also pardoned january 6 defendants, 15 hundred, commuted the sentences of 14 others. there was also an executive order on tiktok and health care.

i am looking forward to meeting president trump when he comes to southern california later this week to survey the fire damage. i think the media is suppressing hegseth's advancement to the senate nomination. that happened five hours ago. we have not heard anyone talking about it really. i think there is going to be some challenges. what if people would understand how much they lost over the past four years, freedom of speech, ability to work unless they get a mandated vaccination. if you lived in los angeles county the last four years, you have no idea what it was like. it was just awful and the fire situation in los angeles county is such a terrible thing. i don't think people understand how bad it is. our city government, county government and state government has used it as an example not to
