he's just late. but make of what you want on the interwebs. all right. in the meantime, here she is in the current news center, jacki schechner. >> good morning, everybody. happy monday. tomorrow is the special election for south carolina's first congressional district and former governor mark sanford may actually have a shot at the seat. according to the latest poll, he's now ahead of his democratic opponent, elizabeth colbert busch by one point 47-46 in a ppp survey released yesterday. two weeks ago colbert busch was up a hearty nine points. why the turnaround? poll steers say sanford has managed to tie his opponent to house democrats and paint her as too liberal for the traditionally republican district. but they say don't worry so much that a sanford win could be good for house democrats because sanford is in the house his fellow members of congress are stuck with him. that keeps the conversation going about his problematic past. meaning the skipping town, the

affair the trespassing, all of which does nothing to help republicans curry favor with female voters nationwide. the nra's board officially elects its new president today and that man is going to be hard liner james porter. he spoke at the gun lobby's conference in houston over the weekend. denouncing the president and claiming that president obama's fight for new gun control legislation is motivated by something other than the safety of our citizens. >> revenge is what is motivating the president's unrelenting attacks on gun owners today. just look at his reaction to his defeat in the u.s. senate with his step at a time gun owner registration under the guise of universal background checks. >> "usa today" reports that more than 70,000 people attended that conference over the weekend. we're back with more show after the break. stay with us.

illinois resident erin james caught speeding after she spent a night out getting her driver's license back after a dui arrest. she was drunk this time as well. lead the charge to take the fight against healthcare reform all the way to the supreme court. it was pretty extraordinary that he made this turnaround and it was likely a political calculation to try to stop his hemorrhaging poll numbers. while at the same time we notice that scott's change of heart still needed republican state legislature approval in order to pass and that's why he could say he was for it and at the same time, no, he would never have to accept it. that's exactly now what has happened. the florida state legislature wrapped up friday without passing a budget that includes the medicaid money. unless democrats convince the g.o.p. majority to call a special session, there are 1.3 million floridians who aren't going to have access to the healthcare coverage they would have under affordable care act. in international news, israel has not officially confirmed or denied it launched air strikes on syrian military targets on friday and then again yesterday but it has long said it would go after any transfer of weapons to hezbollah or other
