a couple of minutes. well we saw earlier the pay scenes of jubilation at the center of his party headquarters when mugabe was sacked and yet it was less than a month ago that he had the unconditional support of the party what happened. what i think the long and short for it is that the ministry happened remember that when a tree stand in the street going to wednesday morning to restrict the amount that get taken you know control all flow of all sources in the country speech to transit and remove criminal elements that are on the critical and their way. street much easier fifty which indicated a short lived stronger that people one prisoner would choose to stand down and you know i mean the copy that i had good pain and created on the p.f. which it indoors for them about richard being. the party candidate makes you conflict with the growing tide and so we saw them today as well you know exercising
7:04 pm
the ability and kick the ability to remove the president and then i forget what they've done because they. responding to what the then sort of thinking gave them up over the last couple of days. what about mugabe's wife grazed and the army did step in to stop mugabe from installing her as his successor where does this leave grace mugabe. has been fine traumas on the pier for the park to reach. she was on the field when the leak and. the army has made it to the tent and then noble speaking with the repeating that the subhumans in the military just want to be involved in the politics. of the posse you know and understand that shooting question of racing over the past three years that she's seen in quality effectively greece mcgovern has been chartered out then

she has no political. journalist ray and lowville reporting from harare many thanks indeed. here in germany agents are angle americal is continuing a final push to forge a new government despite the expiration of a self-imposed deadline of six p.m. local time merkel's conservatives are looking to form a coalition with the pro-business free democrats along with the green party but after weeks of negotiations the parties are still clashing on a number of key issues and it's still unclear if the parties will be able to find enough common ground to reach a preliminary agreement. our correspondent hans beyond is standing by outside the building where the talks have been taking place and he joins us now for the latest so han's the self-imposed deadline has passed is there any indication that a deal will be reached tonight there's no indication of
7:06 pm
a deal whatsoever we haven't heard anything in the past all right so since the state line has crossed and there has been no official statement from any of the parties there's been a lot of speculation about what's being going on and it seems that negotiations simply are continuing especially between the two poles the two opposing poles of these four parties that are involved that's the christian social union from the very a which is a particularly conservative party on the one hand and the green party on the other hand which is more on the left of the political spectrum and these two parties especially have not been able to find any common ground and in fact it seems that in the last fall's they have not been successful in that either at the moment talks continue but there's no prospect of a deal being made at the moment. all right so no prospect of a deal yet they've been talking for for weeks now why is it taking so long for them
7:07 pm
to find agreement. well i think in the end one has to say it's there's a very large difference political difference between the conservators on the one hand and the greens on the other hand the issues on which this turns are two basically the one is climate control which is obviously an issue that is especially important for the green party and the other the other issue is the refugee question in germany the number of refugees that are in germany and the number of refugees that might come in in future this is something that's of particular importance to the conservatives who are saying they're one nerve further refugees coming into germany or at least they want a cap on those numbers the greens are saying that's not possible and those two divergent positions so far have not really been able to find ric find common ground between the two of them so what would happen if the parties simply are unable to agree what will happen specifically to chancellor merkel. well there are two
7:08 pm
possibilities basically there's a possibility that i'm going knuckle forms and minority government in other words that she rules without having. a majority in parliament and will have to find a majority in every in law of every issue that is devoted on involvement from issue to issue there are some elements in the green party that seem to support that idea the other whole life scenario is that there would be new fresh elections sometime in the new year in other words that all these parties would go back to the voters and try to get a different mandate from the one that they have at the moment all right so it might be a very long night for all the parties hung on for boarding on those a coalition talks many thanks indeed. now to some of the other stories making news around the world and international concern is growing over the hundreds of thousands of range of refugees who fled to bangladesh from violence in myanmar german foreign minister gabriele has visited or his or refugee camp in bangladesh

billionaire conservative candidates the best in pinjarra who proceeded bad as president but with eight candidates standing it's unlikely that he'll win enough votes in the first round to avoid a runoff. he's been here before sebastian pinera back on the campaign trail and looking to return to the office he vacated in twenty fourteen the billionaire businessman wants to cut tax and boost investment in a flagging economy. we have a country that is stagnant in which the majority of chalons believe that we're moving backwards. a country in which most chileans don't trust and don't support their government the. polls suggest this man i am very i will force pinera into a second round runoff next month as a former t.v. anchor and if the continuity candidates pledging to press on with the incumbent

michelle pascha let's liberal reforms. i would have been historic of continuing on the path of the democratic chile bill which has secured many advances to large sectors like trade unions communities a middle class up professional class education for health. but away from the rallies on the streets of santiago you wouldn't guess there's an election happening in a campaign posters don't exactly take pride of place here political scandals and slow progress with passion that's reforms have contributed to growing voter apathy and with voting no longer compulsory many say they simply won't bother. i don't know i'm a lucky bites but i'm not going to say if i do cast my vote i'm going to scratch the whole ballot shapes because i don't feel like voting for anyone you know no one vice because i don't identify with any candidate that i want to. a lower voter
