this is d.w. news live from berlin as israel intervenes in the syria conflict missiles target a major air base reportedly killing fourteen people to syria and russians say that israel carried out the attack. also coming up on grey's national pride nationalist prime minister viktor orban wins a landslide victory there could be a crackdown on migrants after a campaign against them and after three years of losses germany's top lender deutsche bank has ousted its c.e.o.
4:01 pm
well the new man at the top be able to revive the bank's fortunes. plus the district of berlin where people live in fear torched cars smashed windows threats of violence people marched to demand action by the police after a spate of far right attacks. and dortmund make amends for last week's disaster against byron with a masterful performance against should guard. i'm sorry kelly welcome to the program syria and its main ally russia are blaming israel for an overnight missile attack on a syrian air base which monitors say killed at least fourteen people the strike comes as international alarm grows over an alleged chemical weapons attack on the
4:02 pm
former rebel stronghold of duma at the weekend the following report contains images that some viewers may find distressing. missiles flare in the dark hours of the morning according to russian and syrian military they were fired from two israeli fighter jets though israel has declined to comment the missiles found their target an air base in the province of holmes used by the syrian regime and its allies at least fourteen fighters were killed according to observers. days earlier bombs fell in the town of duma in eastern go to the last remaining rebel stronghold it's alleged they were carrying chemical weapons according to the white helmets volunteer rescue group at least forty people were sixty eight and by poison gas during the attack many of them children smelling strongly of chlorine. the values on the regime continues the intense and violent shelling barrel bombs were dropped by helicopters carrying poisonous substances. until now paramedics haven't
4:03 pm
been able to enter because of the continuous shelling the regime is trying to wipe out this area. civilians in eastern guta have enjoyed weeks of bombardment as the syrian government tries to root out a position. that many have now given up evacuating the region in bus convoys to territory still under rebel control syria denies its government forces launched a chemical assault it says its troops are advancing on duma without any need for poison gas nevertheless international condemnation has been swift and blunt a german government spokesman said it was clear president bashar al assad was to blame. for those responsible for the use of poison gas for the targeted bombing of civil medical infrastructure must be held accountable and also regarding this use of poison gas the circumstances indicate the acid regime was responsible.
4:04 pm
u.s. president donald trump took to twitter describing assad as an animal he said there would be a big price to pay for the use of gas. but syria's ally russia says its inspectors found no trace of chlorine or any other substance in duma and called the allegations of provocation. says the issue will be raised at a meeting of the united nations security council later today. and for more let's bring in simon made bond lecturer on international relations at lancaster university welcome to you simon i'd like to begin first by talking about what france has said on monday saying that it will work closely with the united states on a response to this weekend suspected chemical attack we also know that the u.n. security council is expected to meet what do you think that we can see. well i think you will probably hear a lot of very strong words a lot of vocal condemnation and criticism of the assad regime's brutal attacks of
4:05 pm
the assad regime's behavior over the past seven years and they'll be a great deal of criticism of russian support and arabian support for the regime of bashar assad from the u.s. the u.k. from france as well but i imagine that's about all we'll see because as as we all know the u.n. security council is being designed in such a way that there are veto powers russia has a veto and so i can't imagine there will be any type of resolution passed on this so much like with the with all security council discussions on syria in the past seven years it will be a talking shock and on the red lines imposed by mr mccrone will turn out to be words and not deeds much like those put forward by mr obama in the past. time i want to turn to something else that has developed in syria because you know that russia and syria they are accusing israel of carrying out an airstrike attack on
4:06 pm
the homes air base no comment so far from israel on that what do you think that we are to make of it. well i think that what we need to do to understand what's happening here is to places they strike within the larger regional security complex so we know that syria has has become a quagmire from from the revolution to the conflict that we're seeing now it's drawn in a range of different activists from from the middle east and beyond the really got involved to try and further their own regional and geo political interests and once we see that then we can see that iran has been another lebanese party of god supported by iran they're both supporting the regime of president bashar al assad now the israelis have long held a great deal of suspicion about iranian intent really an involvement across the middle east and i think that there's a great deal of consternation amongst many israeli officials about what iran is
4:07 pm
trying to achieve and and if any possible proliferation of weapons or anything like not that mike and open hizbollah's hands because twelve years ago of course israel feels a war with hizbollah in the south of lebanon so there's always been a real degree of suspicion and uncertainty as to what will happen so many different dynamics at play on the ground there in syria simon may have been joining us from lancaster university helping us make sense of it all thank you silence. and now we're going to head to hungary where the nationalist prime minister viktor orban has won a decisive victory in the general election his party has once again secured a two thirds majority in parliament and during his campaign or bonn took a hard line on muslim immigration portraying migrants as a threat to hungriest christian identity and his victory speech he said the results gave him gary and the chance to defend themselves and their country. victory is
4:08 pm
written in his name. nationalist across hungry and europe are celebrating victory or bans reelection his anti immigrant campaign drew people out in record numbers but in the capital budapest where the opposition performed well the reaction was mixed. much as well the government has successfully implemented its hate campaign they planted hatred in people's hearts which is very sad. this is what should have happened we are happy because we are not really interested in immigrants and that's what's at stake now. if you will. if this tendency continues then we won't be heading towards a liberal country in my view we will not represent european values and that makes me deeply sad. just michigan. despite being in a new member hungary has refused to implement the blocks migrant resettlement
4:09 pm
program or been has like an migration to rust and poison a threat which he said his win would stave off. there's a big battle behind us. we have won a crucial victory got a chance gave ourselves a chance to defend hungary. for years. for bans reelection has energized right wing parties craving emancipation from the bloc several european politicians congratulated or ban including germany's conservative interior minister who also issued a warning to the e.u. . i would advise the european union to maintain sensible bilateral relationships with its member states but secularly with smaller ones such as hungary when i've always considered it wrong to manifest arrogance on paternalism towards individual member states. fearful. or bands feet as party
4:10 pm
one almost half the vote which gives them the two thirds supermajority needed to introduce sweeping reforms ahead of the election or ban promise to take what he called moral political and legal action against his opponents. and to my let's bring in correspondent barbara basler who is standing by with the view from brussels because barbara we know that viktor orban he has really been on a collision course with the e.u. for quite some time campaigning to and brussels migrant resettle program now he has won reelection can we expect pushback from the e.u. . you will try to push back certainly because orban is not finished with his sort of anti european politics the crisis about migrants that's just one aspect and the next steps are going to be and he has already announced them that he's going to shut down n.g.o.s who support migrants or assume forward to democracy and so on and so far so the game was just starting it is we would just see another act
4:11 pm
of this the problem is that the european union can't really do much against or been scores it doesn't have the instruments critics say that the european union is sort of ably increasingly autocratic kleptocracy in feeding viktor arbonne because hungary is one of the biggest recipients of european aid per year and the european rules don't make it really possible to turn off the tap and that is the main problem brussels has it has sent a strong more inching words to hungary today and has said after the election victory of viktor all over and it has said that all european countries are . too distant european values but he doesn't listen as we know another problem barbara that that brussels has as you know there's concern that the east and the west part of the e.u. that they are drifting apart is this
4:12 pm
a question of divergent values or of divergent national interests and is a populist like orbán just becoming an increasingly political reality and factor for western countries. he is of course a political reality and of course it's sort of the worst nightmare of many democrats in europe but come have become true last night when it became clear that he has taken a rather strong election victory however we also have to consider that. he does deepen it this does deepen the chazzan between the western democracies and some you eastern european countries bought this is only one country in the european union one of twenty seven it consists of only ten million people and viktor orban is only one european politician he is not the majority he does and speak for such a very strong movement so all is not lost but it is certainly
4:13 pm
a wake up call for many parties and governments in europe who see the dangers of increasing autocratic development and democratic developments in view but barbour he does have powerful friends the leader of poland for example germany as interior minister who we heard speaking just a short while ago last see hope for how strong is that support he does have support and this strange thing is that his strongest supporters in his very best friends are a group in the people people party this is the strongest conservative party family in the european parliament home also marcos christian democrats and the variance of support where we find horse a whole for interior minister of germany and they have to send if they have been defending fetus even the fall of this election they are really partly personal friends of viktor orban and we really have to ask them more about their involvement and gauge meant for somebody who really didn't credit values in europe. and
4:14 pm
brussels thank you. now let's get a quick check of some other stories making news around the world at least five people have been injured in a strong earthquake that struck western japan early on monday morning roads and some buildings were damaged in the hardest hit city of the six point one magnitude tremor was felt across a wide area the water supply has been disrupted in that area and authorities have dispatched supply to help affected households the former south korean president lee has been charged with corruption he's accused of receiving some ten million u.s. dollars in bribes from groups including the country's own intelligence service when he was in office from two thousand and eight to twenty thirteen is indictment comes three days after his successor parklane hay was sentenced to twenty four years in prison for her part in a separate corruption scandal. well germany's biggest bank is getting
4:15 pm
a new c.e.o. affective immediately been physical and has the story for christiane's even knows deutsche bank from the inside out the new c.e.o. has spent thirty years there rising from financial adviser to board member so he knows what he's getting into z. being replaces don't cry and who took over three years ago the englishman was able to settle numerous legal disputes he downsized the bank's underperforming investment banking division cutting jobs but years of fines and penalties drain business down. deutsche bank is in a permanent state of crisis under korean's tenure the banks struggle to contain its losses cutting those losses is kristan savings top priority now and that means he'll have to untangle his predecessor's mistakes most experts think that means
4:16 pm
deutsche bank will be returning to its roots in the traditional banking sector. let's see what hans pitiful things are banking at analyst at the university of whole time investors have welcomed the arrival of this new c.e.o. shares rallying as i pointed out but you celebrate it well not really but i want to give you people a fair chance and i think you will have a fair chance he's got to condition to get door to bank moving now as worst hopefully is over. so with his fair chance there's a real good perspective the top bunk will at least have a profit not a big profit but of profits as you know is that all you're giving him a fair chance i mean do you really think he can do it or do what crying couldn't cry and did manage to make the lender profitable me again but he did manage to untie it in tangled doj from some extremely naughty legal situations well that's what he did his you know got its merits although maybe people will accept it's only later at the moment they're mainly negative about it because the inmates have to
4:17 pm
produce such a negative mood inside the bank and that's what the new boss is trying to do getting people paula to have a daughter but he says many bad things to do but we will be we'll be successful he's speaking to the insides of the bank clients won't like that so much but he has to motivate people now to move forward because otherwise if all the people going to dodge a bank think it's no fun to be there the bank will never be successful because that is what's behind this hunter mentality that he's talking about how far will he get with that though i mean he can he can get the rank and file all excited but they can be excited enough to change to perform to restructure. i hope so i mean the we don't know i mean he let's say one thing he's not the person they were looking for he took in because something went wrong with the whole process and there was a conflict because between the head of the supervisory board and and c.e.o. crying and there was
4:18 pm
a question who is in power and auckland i had to give an ounce immediately and the answer was no we take somebody who is already there but is a bit like let's say with a trainer in stock or sometimes you get into a conflict and then somebody must step in you never saw off and in some cases you will be very happy with this person and the good thing about him is asset in your report he knows deutsche bank from the roots so even if he does bad things things which hurt which might be necessary might be able to do it more precisely than less . damaging than somebody coming from the outside just go in and pushing everybody aside and then taking someone who's responsible or who's being responsible for the private and corporate customer base is that is that a signal for the direction that the bank is going to go in not yet i think you must really talk with the big investors with a supervisory board what kind of strategy will be acceptable for them because many of the big investors say go on back to profit fast means we must intensify investment banking because we have a retail banking business this takes too long so you must really find
4:19 pm
a compromise between what he wants to do himself and what the investors will accept and maybe we get some news about that in some months from now on but not yet ok what analysts are really looking for is what his plans are going to be for the investment banking division it accounts for the biggest chunk of deutsche revenues can you give us any hint as to what saving could have planned there. at least you can see that they had zero investment banking richie is now really responsible for the whole investment banking himself and he's been promoted to vice c.e.o. of the doj a bank so similes they won't forget about investment banking at the moment it's not a decision they would have taken it would have really wanted to cap down investment banking to a nonentity hospitable there for us thank you very much pleasure. and germany's has canceled over eight hundred flights for tuesday the public sector union very announcing walkouts at
4:20 pm
a handful of airports here will have mostly short haul services leaving from frankfurt cologne braman and munich but the carriers also have to come dozens of long haul flights to the fans this is the strike will affect ninety thousand passengers that will betty is demanding a six percent pay rise for millions of employees of various public sector roles across the country. and time for me to walk off the job but i will be back with a visit date for you at eighteen hundred no industrial action for me. time now for culture news with robin merrill and the world's first museum dedicated to jacko casanova has just opened in his hometown of venice italy of course he is best known for his reputation as a serial womaniser in the eighteenth century society but evidently there was war to handle than that so what was he doing robin when he was not womanizing well yeah of course the name casanova is synonymous with womanizing and he said to have had
4:21 pm
hundreds if not thousands of as with women i don't know where he found the time but he's actually was an accomplished mathematician he was a philosopher he wrote over forty books one of which his memoir. chronicles is one of the best chronicles of eighteenth century society that we have actually he was friends with voltaire and mozart he met benjamin franklin. louis the fifteenth the front seat he was traveling around you go to rome they did. all the leading quite a little bit of this life of course this is chronicled in the museum his his his his sex lives but lots lots more let's have a look. the pull out so pop up in the venice district of canada reggio this is where museum founder carlo perotti found the perfect place for his cell financed project spanning six rooms the museum shows who cousin over really was not
4:22 pm
just a rococo parent label. cousin although more almost a cousin over as much more than that on this a great writer a philosopher musician and even a spot of. his thoughts when i got us poor. multimedia elements and virtual reality present jack i'm no cousin of us life from his youth in venice to his death in seventeen ninety eight he was a libertine and an adventure traveling throughout europe and meeting the most important figures of his time including voltaire and catherine the great his twelve volume memoir reveals fascinating insights into the social customs and norms of european life in the eighteenth century. but of course the venetian is famous most of all for his amorous adventures inspiring countless movies which helped create the cousin of the legend. it was perhaps inevitable that he would make powerful enemies in seven hundred fifty five he was arrested and thrown in prison.
4:23 pm
here in the dozers palace jack i'm a cousin over sweltered under the lead roof in a tiny cell after a year he managed to escape his account of his daring jailbreak story of my flight became a european bestseller and made him a hero. so long he fled via this canal i mean this jailbreak story certainly helped casanova become interested in the eyes of many european aristocrats. because she would bury overall. there's sure to have been at least a bit of exaggeration in cousin over his memoirs but much of what. reported has been well documented this new museum allows visitors to get to know the man behind the myth. and we often get to know the man behind the myth on the silver screen of course and this is just
4:24 pm
a story that absolutely lends itself to the i mean ever since movies big. movies about casanova and his life i mean the been there are a number of silent films from the early before the nine hundred twenty s. as soon as movies were made the been lots of versions since then we're going to have a look at a few of course a classic from federal rico phillida it's really kind of fellini's top it really isn't and still playing casanova this actually is from ninety one and also got the call student design some amazing questions and this is heath ledger playing casanova a hollywood version of casanova in two thousand and five yet she fell in love in this film believe it or not cora sienna miller sienna miller who is actually a feminist writer informs you that this last one is the most recent one is full casanova variations and it's john malkovich playing john malkovich this isn't the
4:25 pm
first if it is which he's playing an act playing casanova in an operatic theatre piece that's from two thousand and fourteen and of course there are going to be many many more of the silver screen i mean the life and times of constant i was almost a film script in its own right and if you miss any of these movies you can now go to this museum in venice right but you know the people of venice that they want that. oh yes i know what you know adhering to there's been a lot of controversy about this mass tourism in venice in reach recently isn't it but typically talking not about people i think who would go to a museum this is pictures of these huge cruise ships on the. all the nations the locals don't like they're not against tourism as such because a lot of the money that way but this is so extraordinary sight to see rate is that those cruise ships and they have actually been banned now however they've got to
4:26 pm
deepen the harbor in ma give up. on the coast before the cruise ships and go there so they're going to be still going there for a couple of years i mean it's it does destroy the sort of precarious ecosystem of the lagoon and it brings a lot of pollution and brings a lot of tourists that just for a couple of ass and but that's going to change is going to take a bit of time ok well it should only take a couple of hours probably in the museum right so. and if our viewers want to find out more there's much more on the website about the music not so much about the tourism but the moment d.w. dot com slash cultural schools rather now thank you very much. well now a series of ice breaking detonations created spectacular scenes along the ohio all jiang river in northeastern china on sunday the controlled blasts were carried out in the frozen water to prevent ice jams which could pose

4:30 pm
back here with t w news i'm sarah kelly in berlin our top stories nationalist prime minister viktor orban has won a landslide victory in hungriest general election campaign to think hard line on immigration and the news migrant policy. and missiles have struck a syrian government airbase record of the killing fourteen people from syria russia say that israel carried out the attack and missile strike came as international alarm grew over an earlier alleged chemical attack on civilians blamed on the syrian government. well details are beginning to emerge about the man who drove a van into a crowd in the german city of munster on saturday killing two people and injuring many more police say that he was wealthy that he had many run ins with the law he was also said to have expressed suicidal thoughts to a neighbor last week people in munster have attended a church service for the victims. the people of minster partout the city's
4:31 pm
famous promise cathedral an owner of the victims of saturday's atrocity. earlier flowers were laid outside the popular pub in the old town where toughened two people were killed and dozens more injured when a forty eight year old german man crashed his van into the crowd the driver had mental problems and was known to police he shot and killed himself after the incident. she was to show him once i've lived in monster for forty years it's a play seen a drop of blood because the people here are so nice it's such a beautiful city. mentioning does it start. i'm relieved i'm sirleaf that it wasn't a chair or check. germany's interior minister called it a brutal and cowardly crime. i'm here today in munster to convey the solidarity and condolences of the entire government especially the
4:32 pm
chancellor angela merkel in space on the business council of it police said previous petty crime charges against the driver had all been dismissed we can only tell you that at the moment we have no indications that there is a political background or that other perpetrators were involved suzanne than hunt he says well there's relief this wasn't a terrorist incident it's a painful reminder of how little the authorities can do to prevent vehicles being used as weapons. and earlier today correspondent charlie telson pill was standing by for us at a press conference at once to hospital we asked her what update she had. that's right the press conference has just taken place behind would it be had a a few updates on those who were injured in this attack on saturday we know now that there were a total of twenty five people who were hurt eight of them brought here we were told
4:33 pm
that on the on the night of the attack five were in a very serious condition three now today remain critical have been hurt have a variety of injured injuries and of being treated by specialists here at the hospital now the stop a were quick to emphasize just how fast they were to respond they said that on the night of the tac they recruited an extra two hundred fifty stahl's to come in they said that that is very likely to save lives and they all say repeatedly said during the press conference just how grateful they were to the people of months they put out a cool for people to come and donate blood and there were queues lining up towards the hospital of people willing to do just that so they they were very grateful and clear to to give their thanks to the people of months or it sounds like a sense of solidarity of their what is the mood there in the city of charlotte you've been talking with people. it is still a sense of shock of course any saturday that this attack took place and people
4:34 pm
can't quite believe that this happened in this city i spoke to one woman who said her neighbour's daughter was very close to the scene of the attack and heard screams and that the daughter is in a state of shock really the woman that i spoke to said that she has got a sense now of just how easy it is for attacks like this to happen and how hard they are to prevent she said now she's very nervous about going into public spaces particularly when big events planned last night though that everybody really did come together there was a memorial service held at the city's famous cathedral it was absolutely packed with mourners who wanted to pay their respects to to the victims in fact there was so many people there that there was standing room only so this really is a city trying to to come together and what's been off to what's been a horrific forty eight hours. charlotte charleston pill standing by in the city of once or thank you. and in the hours after that attack social media helped spread inaccurate information about the driver and his motives for more let's bring
4:35 pm
in karl osman from our social media so karl what kind of falsehoods were making the rounds because there were quite a few of them there were i mean we always see this kind of stuff fake news rumors circulating after an attack like this monster was was no exception we can start off with just one example that really took off on social media this had to do with the identity of the attacker this tweet was one of many that falsely claimed the attacker was a german with a kurdish background who had left his passport at the scene and even claims to show a picture of him there of course none of that's true but the rumor actually migrated from computer screens to t.v. screens this report right here is from romanian television it's repeating that exact same false information and even shows that exact same picture this is actually a well known internet hoax the man in the photo is a u.s. comedian named sam hide his picture is frequently circulated by trolls on the internet after nearly every large scale attack here's what we mean he's been blamed
4:36 pm
for example for shooting in texas for the high school shooting in parklane florida and even the recent shooting at you tube headquarters all with that exact same photograph there were many other attempts to link this attack to islamic or kurdish terrorism this is a screen shot now from an austrian television broadcast but it was misused to claim that the man you see here was actually the attacker but was taken out of context that's an eyewitness not a suspect and in the rush to report on this attack many media outlets just simply got it wrong it particularly in the u.k. tabloid newspapers there many of them including the sun the mirror the metro all that the name of the attack are wrong here the sun claims calls a hundred instead of against are and that appears to simply be just a translation error but if you log on the social media even if you open the papers it was hard to tell. fact from fiction after the attack and some german politicians really didn't help the matter did they i mean they were also spreading some false
4:37 pm
have straight off the bat they were right after this attack we saw the alternative for germany party or the a f d here in germany a far right party already trying to link this to islamic terrorism and this is actually coming here from the deputy leader of the a.f.p. that's bad tricks on storage she writes us or we can do this trying to link the attack to chancellor merkel's catchphrase about germany taking in over a million refugees another a.f.p. politician here taking it even further and he writes there are reports that the perpetrator from months to was a converts to islam and then this is being concealed by the german media first he was classified as a right wing extremist that now appears to be off the table who has useful information about that other german politicians they did try to step in and set the record straight denouncing their colleagues this is the s.p. days ralph and he writes the tragedy in munster has mobilized people who want to instrumentalists it politically and abuse the relatives of the victims and that's shameful you know we expect to see rumors on social media after this kind of stuff
4:38 pm
but to see it from politicians that really is disappointing and to see them using it for political gains on twitter even when there's no information out there ok so we have to you know verify things before we can really trust them with absolutely. well meantime berlin has a reputation as a liberal and a cosmopolitan city but in the last two years suspected neo nazis have carried out more than fifty arson attacks in one district in the south of the city the owner of a book shop lives in constant fear and he's not the only one as we report the police have failed to call anyone to account for the crimes. nikon is a rather it's become a magnet they have stars it has something coolest cafes in the capital and pleasant old apartment buildings the neighborhood is multicultural and lively. but there's another side tonight because they have been fifty incidents that

known to have associated with violently and nazis the police are investigating the far right scene over the incidents in ny kern. police refused to give us an interview about the right wing attacks in berlin they only wanted to answer what questions on paper we wanted to know why months later a series of dozens of violent attacks still remains unsolved by the time of filming we still hadn't received an answer. people annoy turn have organized protests against the far right and against the authorities failure to find the culprits here they're campaigning for justice for québec touch. he was shot and killed on the street and not april twenty twelve. many suspect the motive was anti immigrant sentiment or racism. got no he was i wish thank you there were some leaves but i think the authorities have not been working as well as

. they should have talked to the suspect. because. the public prosecutors should have done their job better. on sunday a monument to brag bektashi was dedicated near the spot where he was shot for many his murder brings to mind a series of far right racist killings the so-called n.s.u. murders and the failure of the authorities to identify the culprits or their motive till years later here in nikon the demonstrators say they will not give up until the crimes that have been solved. let's get more on this now we are joined now by the co-author of that story naomi conrad from d.w. new silk naomi we have here around fifty attacks since twenty sixteen this sounds like a pretty big movement cause for concern here and yes indeed i mean at least almost
4:43 pm
forty attacks last year according to local activists definitely cause for concern i think a lot of these attacks show that this is a very violent group it's a group that's targeting left wing activists even people who are maybe that vocal against right wing extremists the movement itself is quite small but that doesn't make it less dangerous in the way that seeking harder because it's hard to pinpoint who's involved so i think it's not necessarily the size that makes it any less dangerous why is it so hard to pinpoint who's involved i mean why does this keep happening campi authorities get it under control i mean this is what they're trained for well one would think they wouldn't one but these obviously they prefer . national perpetrators i mean a lot of people i talk to they can pinpoint one of the leaders there's a name that everyone keeps on repeating but also if you look at the kind of attacks i mean arson attacks on cars all you need is a lighter to set a car blaze and so it's very hard to trace these people they are obviously very

good not communicating online so even though activists off the straits of people in like own obviously very angry i think these are very specialized highly trained people who are doing this and it's just hard you know to to find enough evidence to put the mind bombs our report also touched on the political level as part of the n.p.t. perhaps you can tell us a little bit more about them and their significance lately well the n.p.t. is a very right wing a lot of people say the most extremist right wing party political party in germany it's insignificant at the moment though it only received zero point four percent in the last elections and twenty seventeen so from a political point of view it's not important anymore talk in attempts to actually ban the party failed in front of the constitutional court because the judges said well the party is anti constitutional but it's too small to have any kind of influence but of course that doesn't mean that it's still dangerous as we're seeing a lot of the these perpetrators in our code and everything points to the fact that

they're from this movement that they're from from the m p d so even though they're politically not that important it doesn't mean that they're not dangerous you've spoken with a lot of people about this i mean just a couple of you know the people we heard from in our piece you really got that sense of fear that they had to you know walking along the streets at night really strategizing how they go about their day given this what has stuck out the most year definitely fear there was there was one man who was attacked i talked to he's a local politician is using gauged with the link of party a left wing party and he told me you know he was just waiting for an attack to happen he knew he'd be targeted at some point so i think that's definitely something people in our cone who are. the active full who you know who help refugees they know that they might be targeted at some point but at the same time there's also a sense of people saying no we won't let nazis linea nazis dictate what we do we won't let them get away with it so there's a lot of local mobilization a lot of people coming together and i think it's also helping mobilize movements

this health confidence and this health belief but at the same time you know it was against shock got so i would not read too much into this ok and meantime we had dortmund go to peter stroger saying the following he hadn't expected to win in munich anyway so let's have a closer look now at the action. hope played the face of the returning marco royce dortmund on base and whenever he's been on the pitch this season but dortmund was slow out of the traps guests took up however was unable to take advantage with the crowd becoming restless taught them took the lead out of the blue. mystic cross from christiane pool six finding its way past keeper wrong rabbit seal or. dortmund ahead despite an uninspiring first half. favorite period after the break at different base then soon they were to milan. michibata choice seventh goalie no one would miss the games arriving after

a nice exchange with teammate nuri shah he after fifty nine minutes it was game over mom adulthood and pull a sick ting up maximillian phillips who starts at home with his second attempts his last goal against stoke up resulted in a loss this struck completed a three nil win the atmosphere in dortmund given a boost ahead of next week's showdown against fierce rivals shoka for telephone call could see his first loss in charge of stuttgart. ok so darkman got a bit of a boost there but you know ultimately it's been a rough season for them lots of talk about their demise is that over exaggerated and once they sell i mean they are a shadow rather they must look they are a shadow of the team that made it to the chaplaincy final in twenty thirteen st the team that won back to back when has he got titles so if that was the standard i mean they've dropped significantly and i know if you look at the ministry get taber

they are there at they could potentially potentially finish second but i think the standings make dortmund look a lot better than they are because he's turned a champ and seek the season's tara that when it comes to good teams face struggle so let's be proactive now and what can they do the way our. let's start off and i'm sure every dortmund friend feels the same way you have to stop selling your best players they need to find a way to keep on like to hang on to their talent but the money and money and also i think just finding like inspiring players as to why they should stay a daughter and instead of trying to find glory or championship chips ties back into that mentality they need a running mentality i would also change the coach i think they need a keva tactician somebody that can give you results both in the business here in europe i don't think it's that men several positions need to be upgraded i mean in the past when you look at dortmund they had four to five world cost players now they might just have one and that is more choroid if he's fit oh that's saying

a lot ok ok so meantime though there was a lot more action on the pitch we want to turn to again now on sunday we know that frankfurt locked horns with huff and i'm going to have a look at how that went down a look. in the ones i gots hoffenheim is union now goes man in the other frankfurt snicko kovacs two coaches two different styles but each attracting the interest of buying munich after a cautious start the game sprang to life on track among which beating the keeper but not the post for hoffenheim but the other end frankfurt had not one but two chances to take the lead and try to beat both marco reus and nuclear yo bitch which one night. so no goals to report at the break but just four minutes into the second half a breakthrough some nice work down the frankfurt right finished off by yo bitch. the host we could solve you for the elite who were then on to unbiased sucker punch to go kick finding its way to mark boots he played in search gnabry and by and

loney supplied to finish. firing in his fifth goal in this many games. course should restrain to the weight and is both sides right for the winner. sebastian al is headed for frankfurt the closest we got to that. it ended on is even in frankfurt probably a bit happier with the point they stay ahead of hoffenheim in the race for europe. and on that race for europe alina how do you see them fair they could potentially finish in a european spot but on the table is so tightly clenched and let's not forget that i take and have a close and also play tonight and they too are strong contenders for those european places so as to who will compete in europe that is something that will definitely be decided on the last day we have to talk about also something else really big that happened this weekend they've the kings of the bundestag i think we can call

them byron munich this is now their sixth straight title here what do you make of it so i i can honestly say now that in the foreseeable future they go on to win the title again next season i mean we can predict that we can predict. today and then we'll see what happens next year i even think that they might win the next two or three and just because there's no imminent challenger dortmund in constant rebuilding mode like sake they have to hence for competing in three tournaments you have maybe shaka but if you look at the way by and they've been winning titles these past few seasons with a double digit lead so you know when they're braced for the title when the gap is this huge you need to first narrow that gap and there's no team out there that can do that it's just not happening we motor sports desk thank you so much. you're watching news a quick reminder now of the top stories that we have been following for you missiles have struck a syrian government air base reportedly killing fourteen people syria and russia
