if this is fiestas eighth generation in mine a while explains what offers a wide array of assistance and safety systems especially with this line and lower lines these systems are sold separately and that can add up but even yalla comes with most pre-installed and that makes traveling much more comfortable. and your old helpers include the i beam assisted traffic sign recognition and driver drowsiness detection. and by manual points out another interior highlight the eight inch infotainment system becomes complete with a navigation system is part of the menu i was standard equipment package. as an extra and would have cost one thousand four hundred twenty five euro. outside the seventeen inch light our loyal wheels are real i get your. profit.

cost so much more if selected individually. in germany the fiesta video starts at twenty thousand six hundred euros. today we're going for a quick judgment in an audi that's a milestone in automotive history the legendary quantrell in the late one nine hundred seventy s. audi had an image problem the company produced progressive and reliable cars but they came across as bland and boring a bunch of young and talented technicians was determined to change all that. classic car next very cushy job our says in february one nine hundred seventy seven a group of audi engineers was driving around unlit surprisingly the fascist car in the snowy roads was the least powerful one a v.w. good for. it's

a good show seventy five horsepower but it did have all wheel drive that game chassis engineer your benching or the idea of creating an all wheel drive vehicle with plenty of power packed and a shake body setting a quatro concept was born. the young engineers kept working on their project in secret without any budget or official authorization but they received backing from audi's new head of technical development at the time had none peach. when the first turbo charged all wheel drive prototype climbed even the steepest ski slopes with the kid out with only summer tires senior managers approved further development and production. in one nine hundred eighty the all wheel drive out he made its debut at the geneva motor show the media called the car a stroke of genius that heralded a new era in auto making but this technical innovation came with

a hefty price tag almost fifty thousand dollars each march as much as a porsche nine eleven car spec that. left the audience at risk of says it with the audi engineers created back in one thousand nine hundred still impresses today and is great fun to drive step on the gas and after a slight lag the turbo kicks in and seven seconds of propels the car to one hundred kilometers an hour and then far beyond and the roar of a five cylinder engine provides a musical accompaniment of it but glad that from a closed session on the foyer this front today that's. like that without the just to make sure absolutely everyone knew how great and rebelution area the quatro was out he joined the rally circuit and one thousand nine hundred eighty one. entered the monte carlo rally in
4:10 pm
a quantrill with three hundred thirty horsepower at the ten kilometer market already overtook the landsea straw toes that had started a full minute earlier it was an omen of the great things to come. for schwandorf case nick or progress through technology proved to be more than just a tagline as audi won two world championship constructors titles in two drivers titles. at the cristo says it soon became clear had to be competitive in rallying on four wheel drive was a must audi revolutionized the rally scene forcing competitors to represent their cars everyone was talking about outings all wheel drive just the time to bring the quatro on to the streets.
4:11 pm
to have a look through stuff feels there's nothing revolutionary about the interior though whether it's in black plastic think oh it's all very conservative and psyche out again and the only difference is the booze pressure gauge in the middle and here in the center console the two knobs for the center and rear differential lock and that's it it's better that it. kristoff it made since the quatro exterior wouldn't win any beauty prizes either its distinctive wings and rear spoiler give it an angular look exploit car was meant to lose realty the handle it does so it's not very elegant. in bad thought as design or hot one vaucluse said they wanted a car that wouldn't weather any storm it was supposed to look rough ik i'm ready not swanking and christopher thinks they succeeded at that. aerodynamics is a foreign concept for the boxy quantrell at zero point four its drag coefficient is
4:12 pm
equivalent to that of a wall unit. its headlights resemble glass bricks and his lines work like they were drawn with a ruler. the only thing round about this car is the wheels but then the original quatro was primarily about technology not beauty. starting in one thousand nine hundred eighty two the model was even offered with a futuristic digital cockpit and pneumatic locking differentials however at this early model quatro still employed cable operated differential locks to provide greater traction on snow and ice. i did i'm pretty well gets all wheel drive and turbo over the audi quadros tactical highlight says christophe and shows us the built in five cylinder engine with a two point one liter capacity and with the turbo charger located without

4:14 pm
street legal production cars to feature permanent all wheel drive that and its day it blew the competition away as a rally card of the it also sparked a boom for all wheel drive vehicles and held only ever the premium segment and to this day quantrill remains audi's trademark to do that photo on paper as that's market sized that will show the audi quatro is definitely an automotive milestone as they and i had started out looking at. the success prompted audi to introduce the quatro drive system to other models to today one in every four outings produced sports that quantrill emblem. and next time on drive it open top fun on country roads and the race track the porsche seven eight team botched or g.d.s. . and eco friendly driving with the new natural gas models from

a government in italy the antiestablishment five star movement on the far right league are asking the president to approve their choice for prime minister. plus they don't consider themselves to be men or women but they say they're not transgender either we talk to a group of people in southern mexico sometimes referred to as a third gender. and defending ice hockey world champs sweden took on switzerland in the final could the swiss pull off an upset over the swedes keep their perfect record. i'm sumi so misconduct good to have you with us the united states has pledged to impose the toughest sanctions ever on iran following its withdrawal from the nuclear deal u.s. secretary of state mike pompei all made the comments while missing out on a key gathering of g. twenty foreign ministers and where no side is germany france and the u.k.
4:21 pm
are battling to uphold the deal but progress will be difficult with not only the u.s. but russia also absent from the meeting. let's listen to what pompei i want to say a short while ago. we will apply unprecedented financial pressure on the iranian regime the leaders in tehran will have no doubt about our seriousness the iranian regime should know that this is just the beginning. the sting of sanctions will be painful for regime does not change its course from the unacceptable and i'm productive path that is chosen to one rejoins the league of nations these will indeed end up being the strongest sanctions in history when we are completely. my actuator is covering the story for us and she joins us tell us more first of all about these twelve demands so it's a lot to go through here so we'll stick to the ones that i'm thinking are sort of the biggest ones here number one is he's asking and pump air and the u.s.
4:22 pm
are asking around to completely halt any enrichment of uranium or plutonium those are the two items that you need to make a nuclear bomb of the many and under the current iran deal the previous negotiations had reduced the amount of uranium and plutonium that could be enriched to nearly zero far far less than what iran was doing beforehand now we have to remember these negotiations took seven years the crude thereon deal that was signed in two thousand and fifteen took seven years to build up in the fact that those negotiators couldn't get iran down to absolutely zero i think says a lot and now the u.s. is coming out saying no we want absolutely zero so that's number one they're also saying that iran is to allow quote unqualified access to any nuclear sites throughout the country and number three are some less nuclear related demands there's a demand that they release all u.s. citizens that are currently being held in iran and that they withdraw from iran's involvement in various regional struggles that if they don't pump it was
4:23 pm
threatening the greatest sanctions in history essentially will run actually heed this threat is this ineffective approach. we're seeing right now is iran sort of turning from the u.s. to europe and russia and china saying help us help buzz we're trying here we're trying and by all indications it seems that iran is actually complying with the deal so there's sort of two ways iran could go right now they could continue to try to live by the rules of this deal and sort of look to europe to be a new partner in this because one partner pulling out of the iran deal doesn't necessarily mean the whole thing's going to fall apart of the it's a big partner in this whole thing or two they could simply say ok well. the u.s. is gone now we're not going to abide by this anymore and start slowly chipping away at what was negotiated and try to build up their nuclear capabilities again well what does that mean for the european approach because we do have the g. twenty foreign ministers meeting right now micron pale wasn't there was that
4:24 pm
absence it certainly creates a quite a bright line between the u.s. and europe as we're already sort of seeing in terms of trying to renegotiate this whole thing. the u.s. not being there are certainly going to disquiet european leaders as they're sitting here saying well what do we do now the u.s. has withdrawn we still want to abide by this deal and the u.s. isn't even there to give any guidance as to how they're going to go forward the european leaders of course are all of many including the german foreign minister saying we still want to abide by this deal we think this is still a good deal and we want to keep this in place but of course the u.s. threatening more sanctions new sanctions strongest sanctions ever on iran might mean that the u.s. has to then go on sanction or european countries who choose to do business with iran and that leaves europe in the choice of do we try to do business with iran and rebuild that economy can we afford to give up our u.s. market all right all the more pressure on those g twenty foreign minister's meeting in buenos artist our reporter my ish waiter covering this story for us maya thank

you now german journalists have unveiled evidence that suggests russian authorities covered up doping test results for footballers in russia's world cup squad the revelations come just weeks before the tournament kicks off and russia reporter high exampled helped uncover a state run doping program in russian athletics and now says some russian footballers and the sports authorities may have questions to answer. the russian doping scandal may also extend to the national football team russian officials are suspected of covering up test results making samples disappear which had the potential to implicate footballers some of whom have been selected for the hosts world cup squad german t.v. channel has obtained a list containing player names and code numbers of doping samples the list is based on information from investigators and intelligence gathered from a twenty fourteen raid on the moscow doping control board in that raid the world anti-doping agency water seized samples with
4:26 pm
a typical test results that had not been investigated further by russian authorities samples from players in the current world cup squad were among them what we labeled the disappearing positive methodology. which is the labs mechanism by which they falsely reported their results d. says water also obtained a separate database with atypical test results from almost one hundred russian footballers this information was also passed on to fee for following a request for comment fee for said investigations are on the way and they are hoping to report new developments in the coming weeks. journalist who's apple too broke that story and many others concerning russian doping joins us in our studio now thank you for joining us good to have you have you with us right now russia is again the focus of your investigations how is this going to impact the world cup we don't know yet that we were know in a couple of weeks i guess the moment it looks like that is really investigating at
4:27 pm
least on. the outcome of the results or for dr bass which has been given from a whistleblower to wada last year in two thousand and seventeen sixty three thousand samples from different sports nine talk nine thousand of them have been suspicious and i guess. almost hundred of them are now under investigation and coming from football so we don't know. what would be the outcome what we can say we just talk about a presumptive screening which might be doping must not necessarily be doping it can also have other reasons but it needs to be. scrutinized that these to be checked great needs to be scrutinized you know how solid is this evidence that we could be talking about doping and russia's national football team what we can say is that in two thousand and fourteen and this is not related to the daughter because i was talking about in two thousand and fourteen after the first revelations in eridu
4:28 pm
german television about state run doping of that takes the world anti-doping agency made a raid in the most called depth and at that point they seized more than three thousand samples from different sports and among them as i have been samples from football players and we got information from two thousand and fourteen at that point to have been samples from players who are currently in the team roster of the russian team for the world cup from two lead to that means we talk about samples which have ridge are unclear from two cells and fourteen from players who are now in the squad and that is a question and fee for has said said they have done some testing but we asked them as a question have you done a retest for all forbidden substances for prohibited substance of fault for purgative methods and he didn't answer that question last week you mentioned the doping in athletics which there is evidence of a question some people are asking is is it really beneficial for footballers to dope how does that help them ok what do you need in football it's power what you
4:29 pm
can. increase with kind of what makes is for. what's what you need isn't do or incentives in football you need to compete nation of power and in durance so what does it make sense for insurance e.p.o. for example so as i don't lot of things and if you look at the history of doping related to mr geishas into football you will see that e.p.o. was a subject and a bollix have been the subject so it makes really sense to dope it's. there's no doubt the level of doping might not be the same as for example in weightlifting on have let the right to say that doping doesn't play any role in football it's nonsense so in durance and stamina things that footballers need surely not just russian footballers or other teams also knowing why we're just focusing then on russia here they're not focusing on russia you have a state run doping system rather four years riyadh because you know twenty plus but also. investigate years and world anti-doping agency in different international sports federation bracket means of subject few fighters no working on that issue so
4:30 pm
it is there's no doubt that that is really hot suspicion and evidence about russia and doping and stage one doping your computer right when you say that sam must be has also doping in other countries but if you don't have a proof if you don't have evidence and particularly not on state run doping in that countries then that makes really a big difference i want to ask you about one of the russian footballers i was long kumble of he was named to the world cup squad despite being investigated for doping he's now been dropped due to injury is that due to your investigation you don't comment on names absolutely not because again we're talking about. cleo hart hince we're talking order strong suspicion we don't talk about proofs because we don't have to. talk about proofs you don't reveal any names in that investigation now you weren't able to get a decent originally to report on the world cup it was feared because that's because of your reporting on doping in russia of the german government stepped in and now
4:31 pm
it appears that you will be going to russia to report is that correct you know it says that i have a visa no and i never decide at a later stage there are different concerns we have to consider and then we will make a decision at a later point as you can imagine some people in russia don't like at all what we have investigated so you have to consider if it's really worse or maybe there's a bigger risk we don't know so we have to discuss it internally and then we recommit to induce to do a decision investigative journalist who has that built with us and here in studio thank you very much for sharing your reporting with us thank you. that's some other stories making news around the world facebook boss mark zuckerberg has agreed to have his upcoming meeting with the e.u. lawmakers streamed live online service due to respond to e.u. parliament leaders privacy concerns and hearing on tuesday the meeting comes as facebook admitted last month that it had improperly share the personal data of millions of users. paraguayan has opened its israeli embassy in jerusalem the

that gone to visit believe on the markets we will lend more money but this is of cause very contradictive to european rules yet both parties says he said and are very critical of the european union how is brussels going to deal with this government. i guess process is often arms know the alarm bells are ringing because if. they lead the national do what they promised italy first then europe has a problem they want to renegotiate european treaties in favor of italy and this is of course is not is not possible and the french finance minister already warned italy can the whole euro zone if it doesn't behave well because the italian debt amounts to one hundred thirty percent of its g.d.p. and if this gets into a crisis then it's really difficult to bail italy out because european fans right

band records are reporting from outside the prime minister's office there in rome thank you ben now nicolas maduro has won venezuela's presidential election he beat his nearest rival and we call him by a wide margin my little call this victory a triumph over and period listen but the opposition boycotted the poll and said it was not a fair vote the u.s. says it will not recognize the outcome and is considering new sanctions against a socialist government. for nicolas maduro and his supporters a celebration with few surprises. it's a second six year term for the venezuelan president who won over two thirds of the vote. thank you for overcoming so many aggressions some of those. thank you for joining me in so many battles and thank you for making me president. but it's
4:36 pm
a hollow victory the country's electoral storage fees say only forty six percent of voters turned out at the polls. opposition parties say the real figure is closer to thirty percent. the main opposition party boycotted the election claiming it was rigged too popular candidates were barred from running one challenger who ran on little more than a prayer says the vote was marred by irregularities. we don't recognize this electoral process as valid as having taken place. for us there were no elections no new elections in venezuela need to take place. duras opponents say the empty polling stations were kept open for hours past the prescribed closing time in a desperate bid to draw in voters. voting was very low one
4:37 pm
it didn't used to be like this. they're hoping more people will eventually come out but the truth is it's been very very weak so all we pull the floor and there were only a few voters that it was not like this in other years when there was a lot of people today i've been walking through town and the voting centers are mc . well you know what there haven't been many people because there was a campaign asking people not to vote they told people not to turn night but some people from the other side have voted and we should be says have gladly come by democrats. but you know. victory has been rejected by several countries including the u.s. which says it may impose new oil sanctions against the struggling state. well ben is here now with more on the economic fallout from venezuela selection you know
4:38 pm
venezuela is mulling a bleak future sumi because murderers in charge again of an economy in freefall hyper inflation is that a ridiculous level venezuelans continue to leave in droves lining up a border crossings for hours just to get out for those who stay the tough times could get even tougher not only does the for our country face intensified unrest that harm is also as we heard there the threat of new sanctions from abroad that won't help the people of the nation needs is reform. after nearly twenty years of socialist rule in venezuela the once prosperous economy is in tatters massive shortages have left huge swathes of the population struggling to survive hyperinflation at close to thirteen thousand percent has destroyed venezuelan savings and left them unable to afford basic goods. power and water have become luxuries for many in the country with the world's largest known oil reserves

spiraling poverty hopelessness and anger at nicholas meant to rose government have led to a social implosion protests and file and crackdowns have marked his tenure but as my duro tightens the screws on dissent his government has a silver bullet for the moribund economy the cryptocurrency the petro it's meant as a workaround for the lack of foreign currency but critics call it a scam but the petro success would depend on good faith in the government backing it years of mismanagement and corruption have meant very little of that has been created leading figures wayland's to see little chance of an end to their ordeal. when its way there is a rich oil producer why aren't the profits from those exports juicy for the state at a time that the global price of crude has recovered and while those revenues trickling down to the people the questions we asked the threat are from the institute for that in american studies the author is because the prices are rising
4:40 pm
because of the fall of the oil production in venezuela and this is far of corruption instability and the failure of the oil industry into contrie the time was one of the best and richest industry in the war and today in charge of chobits and in dura as we can see the results of the socialist experiment. kerry o'brien has released its full year results for twenty seventeen spurred by an increase in passengers net profits sold to one hundred forty five billion euros or one point four five billion euros i should say ryanair has weathered a difficult twelve months the cancellation of thousands of flights due to roasting problems and pilot strikes failed to have a big impact on the company's bottom line. the last financial year was turbulent for ryan air and this one may not be easier last week the airline received a letter from the irish pilots union threatening to strike preventing pilot
4:41 pm
walkouts is one of the company's main challenges and it could affect its bottom line we are guarding that our profits for the next problems will be down about ten percent because of higher pilot pay higher oil prices but keeping fares for ask ronnie as operational costs are set to rise in december of last year the car you agreed to recognise trade unions for the first time ever cutting deals with unions in different countries could have a negative impact on its revenue and despite soli twenty seventeen results ryan air has slipped to second place when it comes to the number of passengers flown within europe the carriers sold more than one hundred nine million tickets last year. but twenty eighteen and twenty nineteen could be tough the specter of a hard brags it means ryan air may have to pay extra charges in the u.k. the company has warned that flights could be grounded if there is no agreement between the e.u. and the u.k.

. well to me first of all we don't know exactly how many people have been taken into custody often reports say it has seven activists we are also seeing reports on twitter which say that it is ten people who have been arrested but the government is not naming any names at this point what we do know is that all the people who were arrested were involved in fighting for women's rights rights that go beyond the rights to drive and some people have already been identified by rights groups and i can just show you a number of those that we know of so far so one of those arrested is. she is actually known as the mother of saudi feminism she has been campaigning for the right should drive for many years here we have. also a very prominent campaign against the driving ban in fact she has been arrested a number of times because she tried to drive into saudi arabia and then sue me and we also have another activist. here she is in an interview with
4:50 pm
d.w.i. earlier this year she is a psychologist she's a feminist and she also took part in the first protests against the driving ban in nineteen ninety what we're also seeing is something that appears to be an organized smear campaign against these activists we have for example here and use paper from saudi arabia calling them a trader's yet this is a picture that was posted on twitter and there so the people who have been arrested are being accused of working together with foreign entities trying to violate the religious and the national principles off the saudi kingdom and those who are people reacting to these arrests. well we're seeing lots of prominent voices condemning these arrests that we can run through a number of reactions that we have seen so far so here for example is a very well known women's rights activist also from saudi arabia. she says the

organize the formation campaign targeting that he taint activists reminds her of the same come pain that targeted women to drive this is a campaign that she started back in two thousand and eleven we have amnesty international they call the wrist and the targeted smear campaign outrageous and then finally we have the director of human rights watch here kenneth roth he says there is a shop contradiction between the saudi crown prince touring the world presenting himself as a reformer while at the same time he is arresting the women's rights activists who refuse to accept his tokenism and this is a story of course to me that we will continue following to see whether these activists will be released all right elizabeth show from d.w. social media thank you list ok back to bed now and then some relief for

investors a ray of sunshine this monday for global stocks economic superpowers china and the u.s. have agreed to hold off imposing new tariffs the temporary deal ends months of tension for financial markets beijing agreeing in a joint statement with washington to substantially reduce america's trade deficit with china the crux of the dispute the chinese didn't commit to cutting the gap by any specific amount and some analysts doubt the truce will last long but at least the two sides are talking. the world's two biggest economies are back to the negotiating table and they appear willing to keep talking until they find a solution to their trade conflict. the strongest demand from both the chinese side and the u.s. side is to stop the trade war and stop imposing more tariffs on each other's products this time both sides pledge to stop the trade war and develop good relations in trade or in a mass meant i think this is

a major demand from both countries. so it will be. china has already made concessions saying it will significantly increase purchases of u.s. goods and services it's an attempt to address u.s. president donald trump demand to reduce china's three hundred seventy five billion dollar trade surplus no details have been released yet but the countries have agreed not to impose further tariffs on each other while they continue to negotiate a trade deal. speaking in an interview with fox news u.s. treasury secretary steve minutiae have this to say for. the present we have a very good framework agreement that's not just about buying goods it's about structural changes it's about lowering tariffs china has committed to lower tariffs on many things and make structural changes and protect our technology so these are very important issues for the u.s. economy and now we're going to make sure that this gets implemented to taunt and

months of tension between the two countries which markets into a frenzy but with little concrete information released by the details of the negotiations the stakes remain high. while asian markets greeted the news with great relief the opinions vary on the streets of beijing. shitted we should try to be the first in as many fields as possible so china can account for the us good and so bad for for one thing for me you think that trade war could harm investors so there should be one china and the us should work together from the same foundations that you could see for down but i'll do what i think i can buy luxury goods such as cars or watches at lower prices ok. let's get the view from our asia correspondent andrea hang who's in singapore and tell us more about the deal i know there's not much detail at the moment but can you at least read between the lines well hole one china has a greek greek such

a small from the us securely the energy and cultural sets of people and that because i know about this whole thing because about this because a clip be a noncommital of you never know what china is up to and b it's not enough to fill that three hundred thirty five billion dollar treat deficit i know according to a state chinese official who wrote on a beach at those and ok communists and he's people that eat the agreements i quote preserves try this right to develop its economy as it sees fit and this already placed china being fixed on its position of increasing imports rather than a negative position of cutting exports ok will all that said how long will the truce hold then that's the big question. it's a million dollar question not just the big one but one thing's for sure it will be temporary as what you report to a halt in theory this is going to be because we don't know take note that this is

a show that china has exactly left it to the u.s. but rather this is about giving both economies the time and space to rethink and restricted its trade deficit both to treat definitive it's also worth noting that china has successfully muscled its way around the terrorists proving its strength to trump but we can be relieved as you say that the to buy these talking instead of spitting one tariff at each other to another ultimately it seems both parties understand how detrimental doing this to both economies this has been well andrea i wouldn't call it relenting at all china has a massive growing middle class so buying more from the u.s. under this deal would suit it so from what i see it doesn't take much to appease donald trump beijing has got to do it in its hands here it's got a good deal that's

a sales of asian given how restrictive china has been in the old economic speech i think what the u.s. wants us but china to ease some of its market boundaries and that's something that even the e.u. has found quite challenging in trouble so to work around at the same time trump has to find a way to renegotiate with china because his tensions have somewhat backfired on the chinese also have to be very careful not to be too optimistic about eight inches between the you with the u.s. and an extreme point of view it is quite ready to quietly ready to defend its industrial plans with or without the u.s. and i hang we appreciate your analysis from singapore there thank you. i can see me an african nation making the most of its natural beauty and african nation in the south east of the continent and for years mozambique was ravaged by civil war and preserving nature was understandably not a top priority but the country is rich in natural resources and boasts breathtaking
