thanks for joining us north korean leader kim jong un says he's still committed to a summit with u.s. president donald trump in singapore next month trump first pushed for the summit and then on thursday abruptly canceled the june twelfth talks and now says preparations are moving ahead again yesterday kim held a surprise meeting with south korean president in that may have restarted the process. reaching out to keep peace efforts on track south korean president moon j. and the north korean leader kim jong un hold a surprise second meeting in the demilitarized zone one month after their historic first encounter. later in the t.v. address to the nation president moon said kim was committed to denuclearizing the korean peninsula he also said that chemical has a fixed will on holding face to face talks with donald trump. it would have to know
12:02 pm
one i told chairman kim that if he decides to put into practice a complete denuclearization to president trump is open to economic cooperation and ending hostile relations. i just want the u.s. president who called off some plans earlier in the week now says the original date remains possible. i think there's a lot of goodwill i think people want to see if we can get that meeting and get something done if we got that done and if we can be successful in the denuclearization. of the korean peninsula it would be a great thing for north korea would be a great thing for south korea be great for japan and great for the world great for the united states great for china. a lot of people are working on it and it's moving along very nicely so we're looking at june twelfth in singapore that hasn't changed. and it's more along pretty well so we'll see what happens.
12:03 pm
with or without the u.s. the leaders of the two koreas seem eager to hold tight to their warming relations. let's go to correspondent jason strother who's following the story for us from seoul cities in the summit would be a major political win for trump a why is it also so important to kim jong un wisely so as he allegedly has fixed on. well for the north korean leader it means a lot i mean first sanctions relief the north has been hit with heavy embargoes because of its nuclear and missile program and they want relief but perhaps an even bigger reason why i would want to meet with president trump is for recognition more symbolic to hold talks with the american president means that he's on a somewhat equal footing and there's nothing more then north korea there's nothing more than north korea wants then to be recognized as a world power and having
12:04 pm
a one on one summit with donald trump is certainly one way that kim sees he can achieve that status so this has been on again and off again unless i get on again again what do you make of moon's commas this time specifically relaying kim's message or you know moon has been the facilitator all along it was him that encouraged north korea to participate in the pyongyang winter olympics earlier this year he held his own summit. now two summits first in april and now again this weekend with kim and he's the one who's tried to convince both donald trump and kim jong un that either man is ready to speak and willing to speak with one another so you know i think it came as a complete shock to moon earlier this week when when donald trump called off the summit and i think this meeting with kim over the weekend was a way to again try to reconcile to salvage those negotiations and now the fact that

trump says the summit is back on on june twelfth in singapore has to be good news the south korean president. jason strother and seoul thank you very much thank you . now to some of the other stories making news around the world in ireland pro-choice supporters have been celebrating the landslide vote in favor of liberalizing the country's restrictive abortion law the referendum on repealing the constitution's eighth amendment passed by a motion of two to one far higher than any opinion poll had predicted once parliament passes a new abortion law irish woman will no longer have to travel abroad to seek an abortion. venezuela has released an american missionary and his wife who have been held without trial since two thousand and sixteen joshua whole and tomorrow boarded a chartered plane in caracas after u.s. lawmakers negotiated their release during months of secret talks the couple have been charged with arms possession and plotting to destabilize the government.

germany's biggest amusement park was evacuated on saturday after a major fire broke out officials say no one was hurt in the blaze at the europa park in southwestern germany near the french border firefighters brought the flames under control by evening. supporters of the german anti immigration party the a.f.p. are on the march in berlin for a rally they call quote a future for germany but they'll be facing fierce opposition with some ten thousand expected to protest against the far right group and plans afoot to block the parade route security in the german capital has been ramped up and i'm joined now by our correspondents thomas sparrow at the berlin train station where the alternative for germany rally is taking place and i uber him who's at one of the demonstrations against the f.t. thomas let's start with you how's the atmosphere where you are. valmai it has been

filling up very quickly in the last hour that we've been here i've been talking to some of the people that have gathered here they have been chanting one of their traditional slogans for the last few months and years namely most of a you know the words demanding. she leave the chancery that has been one of the key elements such they have been chanting all along is not only in this protest but also in other protests in germany but it has been filling up and it's about to start in a while they will also start moving here in central. and i there are multiple protests also happening or about to happen in central and against the people who thomas is standing in front of right now. what do they have planned is there some subterfuge or sabotage that we're going to be looking at. let i mean as you can see behind me the atmosphere here is quite festive in berlin . center here in mit's if you can see behind me there are already
12:08 pm
a couple of trucks lining up there's police everywhere the berlin police has deployed two thousand extra personnel today around the city to make sure that these protests are kept safe but so far it doesn't look like there's a lot of trouble trouble going on so far very festive it's actually very reminiscent of. st street festival something that the city is is very very well known for so so far i would say very festive atmosphere no clashes nothing and nothing to really worry about but again this is just the beginning of one of the many many protests they have not even started their march they have not moved we are here behind me is one of the main train stations and then it is planned that the protest or the dance march will move then forward into the city who knows what will happen once the right wing protests with the with the with the . no classes
12:09 pm
yet but we've got these these far right supporters and their opponents rallying likely to meet is there any chance that we could see some classes or are we expecting the police to to keep them well apart. well i just spoke with the police spokesman here and he confirmed what i just said namely that there are two thousand police officers on duty not only from berlin but they also received assistance from other german states their main mission is to try and guarantee that everyone here can protest peacefully and peacefully is namely the key word because obviously they also want to avoid any type of clashes the goal is to allow both the demonstrators here and the demonstrators elsewhere to protest peacefully. and abraham for us in the center of berlin where they are tracking two rival rallies thank you both very much for your reporting.

on words to support around that have been crowned european champions very third consecutive year after defeating liverpool three one in the champions league final in kiev and joining me in this studio to discuss this for matic out of football is quest harrington our sorts department so what a night for real madrid right want to know what a night extending their winning history you know as many expected and specifically in madrid in typical traditional fashion they pretty much converged on the city center in madrid. having a blast as always and they were in this spot last year and the season before that so clearly given all the fish real madrid supporters in spain reason to smile and of course my we have a report we should take a look at that now. liverpool started on the front first but after thirty minutes disaster struck starman mohamed salah tussled with said he ramos and was forced off with a shoulder injury after the break a lapse in concentration from his copy of skills to karim benzema the opener but

around the trade were bracing for too long as liverpool hit back four minutes later side your money levelled the scores won all but then gareth bale came off the bench to produce perhaps the goal of the season his spectacular overhead kick giving madrid a two one lead after sixty four minutes fails long range has slipped through because he has his fingers and finalized you're going plops second defeat in a champions league final. three one the final score ramage read revelling in liverpool's heartbreak as they celebrated their thirteenth champions league title. so chris this was an intense game and in the end damage red did themselves another one so now they have a third champions league title in a row have they become basically unbeatable at this point definitely i think they pretty much put their name on this premier competition in the champions league final you know because clearly winning the three peat is one accomplishment and their depth one super sub in particular it only took gareth bale two minutes in two

seconds to turn into superman after he was dead to leave us all with the magical moments and he commented about his super feat. dream come true and. wanted to do. very close. in such a. now liverpool had some bad luck early on that their star sallah going off but the game is i think is going to be really remember for the mistakes that add that goalkeeper last made what happened there well first off defense wins championships and laura's kerio at a lapse of mental judgment clearly you know because the first goal it looked like he was trying to feed his defense the ball get the ball going in to the other team's territory and visit my stuck his foot out and then at the first go that was the first lapse in judgement and then the second one it was unclear what exactly
12:13 pm
happened but somehow i'm thinking his gloves could have been made of teflon because gareth bale scored a second goal in the ball to say look like it magically just floated through his fingers you know very tough and after he commented said he was sorry for everyone about the performance you know so all that all you've got to you've got to feel feel it for the youngster i mean he's in his early twenty's defining moment will he rebound as he have the mental fortitude time will tell it's tough as another defeat of course for the ripple club is he cursed or is he just not up to the task you know i think you're going clip is a great motivator you saw the team rebound after most salo was taken out questionable way by sergio ramos you know but the team did rebound through my native score goals so that's all i think credits to close up you know i think he will be back because motivating is magical and you can cloak touched or in the defining moments of the final. kind of a house challenge because you keep lists that it's like wrestling a little bit the most unlucky than the mole all of us shoulder and it's

a serious injury that's even burrows some really serious injury and. the other the size of moments of old were quite. strange. but call it is all because all notaries are the three one real madrid and that's why we are not in the best mode of history. ok so we were sitting in these exactly it yesterday and you made a prediction yeah i'm feeling really prophetic right now i think you should change my name from cress to the amazing kreskin when it comes to making score predictions let's take a look huge game coming out that everyone's watching secure knockout for us who do you think is going to mean us of clear view of us is what i would do look i will give most solid company benefit of the doubt i do think they will score a goal but not enough i'm calling the final three one riyadh the dritte there you go first twelve. presidents and our soccer visionary thank you so much for being
