it didn't do any news coming to you live from berlin germany have survived a huge scare in the world called a very late goal by tony from state germany and turkey paid for one game back to the great state germany now have a chance to defend their world the title. also coming up the stakes are high in turkey's elections polls opened earlier this morning for a vote which marks president friendship tie her to one of the biggest electoral challenge in fifteen years of ruling the country whoever wins will take charge of the sweeping new presidential powers. and more migrants are still in the

mediterranean and european countries clash over who should exact of today a select group of e.u. leaders will in brussels for crisis talks. well we're going to start off with the world cup of course and russia now where germany survived a huge scare after beating sweden and what was probably the game of the tournament so far we'll hear reaction from amman and saki in just a moment but i have. to do it with me here from the sports desk hello i'm almost in swedish colors this morning you are almost back it was a very cold say it was a very close shave indeed and it was there was no shortage of drama everyone was on the edge of their seats here in germany and of course germany france across the planet of the best thing we need to do is really take a look at all the action. germany started furiously pinning sweden back right from
12:02 pm
the start but lacked precision in front of goal and they lacked precision in their passing to twenty courses misplaced bowl gave sweden an opportunity to supply. who made no mistake. sweden ahead against the run of play in germany in deep trouble the first goal was my mistake no question but when you play four hundred passes one or two might go astray you need to have guts to play such as second half after that mistake. was a second half they played three minutes in a mako royce netted the equalizer the above. but then a set back as jerome book saying was sent off after a second yellow card time was running out on we were a man down for the last ten fifteen minutes but even then we did not stop playing football as we switched a couple of positions and then tony strike on this what can you say honest tony cross free kick in the ninety fifth minute saves both the day by the world cup for
12:03 pm
germany i'm. a brilliant routine teed up by marco royce turned tony cross from zero to hero about zero to hero indeed because i tend to the day he did make that mistake which of course he acknowledged and i'm not of course everybody no one to be talking about the state that we talk about that goal and that's one of those world cup moments of people remember they don't call that was one of the crackers from the world cup and of course it's a huge sigh of relief for you what's the move of course because you know the german team along with the force in germany manager and south were under a lot of pressure to perform and they waited practically until the end to confirm what they really need to which is of course a win and you know keep the man with a very good chance of moving through the next rant absolutely there is nothing like a goal in the dying minutes of back a man let's get a saatchi to jonathan harding who is standing by after
12:04 pm
a safe this nice well johnson was jubilation are just really from the team. i think it was a combination of both i think jubilation us probably just described certainly in the moments off that i go it's just one of those brilliant moments sort of woke up where a dramatic late goal that wins the game i think jubilation is the only thing that you can feel but with more time posturing i think there's certainly an element of relief and maybe even some determination and defiance from this german team tony crow set off the words that he thought that there was a feeling that maybe some people in germany almost wanted them to lose this game because of the way that they played but they haven't made it easy for themselves but they got the result that they needed i think that's the most important thing moving forward and that's right they just never gave up and the german team is by no means through to the next round yes are they. you know if things could get complicated if sweden win in their last game as well as germany because then they would be three teams in the group on six points but i think the assumption is
12:05 pm
that if germany can get their job done against south korea which means a win then hopefully from germany's perspective mexico will be able to stop sweden from winning or not that point in germany are going to go through but they'll obviously have more concerns if they go through second because that means they might end up playing brazil in an account round spot one stage at a time south korea next. ok jonathan i know you have to catch a flight now so fuck off you go to the counter near moscow and we'll be talking to you again later jonathan harding of sports team in tsotsi slice of last night's make much of the result most of come as a massive relief to the fund here what he reckons there was there was i mean plenty of people and it wasn't the nicest of nights now saturday night in berlin it was broken down wrangle people went out they watched the match in places like the brandenburg tour and all their bars and restaurants across the city i think we need to take a look at how dramatic it was for them. it was the germany fan's worst nightmare as
12:06 pm
sweden went ahead a nail biting wait five before lin's fan mile erupted as marco royce equalized for germany early in the second tough my. and finally jubilation the agonizing prospect of a draw forgotten as toni kroos sealed a miracle victory in extra time. just amazing who pulled it off at the last minute incredible i can't believe it fantastic. this. it's really overwhelming we just so happy we couldn't believe it would happen but then we did it don't germany. i'm not going to get amazing brilliant we kept hoping that right till the end we can handle it germany can win again the. chance for trainer yogi in earth the hero

of the hour. with the cup still theoretically within reach for these fans at least anything is possible. there you have it on all the celebrate most open to you germany found my way home from work last night and you know they're the next match and i was the twenty seventh of june is of course germany faced south korea and as jonathan said there it's all to play for essentially a mark group so the drama isn't over just yet not just talk here on wednesday so i still watch how to fully inmates from that interview sports. polls have opened in turkey's presidential and parliamentary elections incumbent laser rhett's of tayyip erdogan and his a k party are facing stiff competition particularly from opposition kansas. from the secular republican people's party and
12:08 pm
he's held huge campaign rallies across the country and is hoping to force her to onto a second round runoff the opposition has been bolstered by voters' concerns of it a weakening economy and the ruling a k party is increasingly autocratic rule and correspondent dorian jones is with us now from outside a polling center in istanbul durian can you give us a sense of what's happening where you are right now. well there's been a steady stream of photos since the polling station here opened at around eight o'clock now traditionally voters do in here in turkey vote late turkey does have a very high position participation rate one of the highest in the world over eighty percent normally and turnout is seen as key to this election the opposition to be pushing hard for their supporters to return back from holidays and in fact we're hearing reports that many most of turkey's empty voters were turned back to place
12:09 pm
their votes now supporters had concerns about their turnout and in fact the president in his last day of campaigning all his voting strongholds in istanbul and his message was turn out and vote and given the election be a very closely fought campaign turnout could be proved key to the outcome of these elections. and it's still looking relatively quiet there as we mentioned this is looking like the closest election race since everyone came to power fifteen years ago how confident would you say is the opposition. well i think they are aware the old one is undoubtedly the frontrunner but what we have seen in this campaign is that the opposition have been remarkably galvanized led by more i mean. a series over one hundred meetings all across the country culminating in a series of make or rallies in the last few days touring millions of people the last one in istanbul but they really believe that they do have the momentum although
12:10 pm
they are aware that one is still ahead what they will be pushing for is to prevent them from getting more than fifty percent of the vote forcing a second round runoff that is a priority and it is expected to be a very close contest. and the result of course may depend on whether these elections are free and fair dorrian what are you hearing on the ground. well certainly that is the concern of. the fairness of the polls laws to referendum to extend president old ones powers was modern allocation fault and there is this massive mobilization this time overhaul the millions from all the opposition parties all focusing on all the ballot stations to ensure a fair turnout this is a major concern we're getting reports of people of voting here in the sample leaving the city for fear of what could happen in the evening everyone is very nervous about what will happen in the next few hours and the main challenge or more i mean john has called for mobilization of all his supporters for the next thirty

they told european italy what they had to pay and which migrants they had to take in. solving is tough talk has struck a chord with austria he met with his austrian counterpart in rome ahead of an emergency mini summit being held in brussels on sunday for me in stark contrast to vienna and rome strong anti immigrant policy french president m. and while mcconnell has joined german chancellor angela merkel's call for other e.u. countries to take their fair share of migrants. that's. the topic which currently concerns us all is migration. we see it as a common challenge the first have to make sure that the cause behind migration is eliminated was the one that's the one. they appear to have won at
