the forces the friends of. military industrial complex starts october twentieth on t w. this is d w news live from berlin new video brings to life potential clues about the fate of a missing saudi arabian journalist. the c.c.t.v. footage shows jamal to show be entering the saudi consulate building but never leaving your rifle of this black man afterwards is seen as a key indicator that the writer may have met with a gruesome end inside that building also on the show

a dire warning as hurricane michel roars stores florida's gulf shore. begin again michael is forecast to be the most destructive storm to hit the florida panhandle in decades fierce winds from a category four storm are already whipping the coastline with landfall just hours away. from living on death row many of the condemned around the world experience isolation and even torture during their final days that's the focus of this year's world day against the death but. i'm dr thomas thanks so much for being with us we begin this program in turkey where a video has emerged of the missing saudi arabian journalist. he's seen here entering the saudi arabian consulate in istanbul but never leave. even it. has not been seen
11:02 am
since this moment a week ago other c.c.t.v. footage shows what turkish security services say is a fifteen member saudi intelligence team arriving in istanbul just one day before to show his appointment at the consulate security services believe this team was involved in the journalist disappearance a black van is later seen leaving the consulate and then stopping at the residence of the consul general shogi was considered a dissident writing for publications like the washington post in the u.s. . our correspondent in istanbul you leon is following the story for us yulia what is turkey trying to demonstrate where is it going with the release of this footage. well the footage that has been released today is basically footage from c.c.t.v. cameras outside the saudi consulate here in istanbul from the airport and from two
11:03 am
different hotels and all the footage is from october second and that the footage is basically tracing what happened that day and it's supposed to support the claim by the turkish authorities that this fifteen member team from saudi arabia was involved in the disappearance and possibly in his murder as well so what we see is that these saudi nationals who have been identified by the turkish authorities at least turkish media are publishing their pictures and their names right now that these people have entered turkey onto private planes during the night of october second that they then checked into two different hotels close to the consulate and then we also see that black van that you have been talking about the van is driving to it's the consulate shortly after mr she entered the consulate a quarter past one pm on october second and then the van is basically going inside
11:04 am
the consulate territory parking over there and then leaving again and we see the saudi nationals also leaving turkey again that same day in the evening so the official claim by the turkish authorities here is still that mystic a child she was murdered that it was a preplanned assessing nation basically ordered by the highest level of the saudi leadership but they have kept things honestly quite murky always speaking on the condition of anonymity not really revealing the sources so we are still waiting for some kind of public press statement either by the police or by some high government official here in turkey maybe turkey's president out on himself ok so what's it looking like the turkish investigators look like they have a firm case that he was murdered inside the saudi. well that's the thing that's what they can prove with the footage that they've written released now because the footage basically just shows what happened outside
11:05 am
we still don't know what happened inside the saudi consulate building there are some turkish media still reporting that she might have been kidnapped as well and taken somewhere possibly to saudi arabia but of course now it's been a week since. we've like to connection so we're going to have to leave it there yulia han for us in istanbul following this story while many more details i'm sure as they come in on this developing story now if you look at some of the other stories making the news today bold areas as a man has been arrested in germany in connection with the killing of the bulgarian television presenter victoria marin over. the journalist was found dead in a park in the northern city of risk on saturday you know who was investigating allegations of fraud linked to eve funding at the time of her death motive for her killing remains unclear. environment ministers

meeting in luxembourg have agreed to seek a thirty five percent cut in the michelin's of vehicles produced after two thousand and thirty you know as one falls a new warning by u.n. experts on the dangers of global warming the final rules we hashed out by the european parliament and the european commission. at least fifty people have been killed in a bus bus crash in western kenya witnesses say the driver lost control of the vehicle which then overturned and rolled down a steep slope deadly road accidents are common in kenya buses are normally bad from travelling long distances overnight. it's to the us known as dorothy's in florida urging nearly half a million people in that state to evacuate as hurricane michael strengthens into an extremely dangerous category four storm. forecasters say the hurricane will hit the gulf shore of the state of the next few hours winds are already packing speeds
11:07 am
strong enough to destroy roofs and walls it's also fear that the storm could create massive waves as high as four meters. president trump is declared a state of emergency is florida's governor says the hurricane could be one of the worst in living memory. while this hurricane comes as thousands in the region are still reeling from another storm hurricane florence just a few weeks ago let's go to miami now and find out more from correspondent nicholas snyder nick thanks for being with us what are people in florida expecting over the next few hours. within the next few hours a crowd of me with a few hours we should be seen landfall with hurricane michel. should be around around twelve hours for say laying around early afternoon and hitting the florida panhandle then working its way up within the next couple of hours through alabama and georgia this is actually going to be quite fast moving hurricane in comparison to other and so we have seen in the past few months ok don't many in florida and
11:08 am
neighboring states especially the carolinas of already seen widespread flooding and property loss from hurricane florence just a few weeks ago how is that affecting preparations for this hurricane. well it's very important for us to remember that these are two completely different hurricanes with. us with a category one and now having hurricane michael with hitting us with most likely a hurricane a category four it's important to understand the difference between the two with hurricane florence we're mostly prepared for flooding and having a high waters within the regions in the carolinas where the panhandle where more scared with transportation issues with the high winds and possibly having a tougher time to be able to get to residents other people that are in need so transportation and evacuation and response teams getting over to the right people are definitely out of our highest concern right now. federal authorities have already touched on that a transportation issue they're warning of
11:09 am
a major infrastructure damage what are authorities concerned about in that area right now. all right now with our ally and other utilities are mostly concerned about the not only the power outages but being able to safely navigate the roads to be able to get to the residents everyone else that have not evacuated and for the transition and the people who have evacuated out safely sense this is a fast moving storm it will most likely be working its way quickly throughout the state into other states should cause a big danger to those still evacuating out already is another response teams have been trying to work around the clock to figure out what is the best way to mitigate this after the storm hits and be able to get the right supplies over to the people in need as fast as possible ok a lot of logistics operations already in motion there nicholas snyder in miami for six very much thank you now its

among the fifty six countries who still have the death penalty and use it iran saudi arabia iraq and pakistan top the table. but the country with by far the most executions is china. chinese authorities don't release any figures regarding the death penalty. for television images like these of a former police chief being sentenced to death for murder and bribery last year are extremely rare. things we've been through most trials happen behind closed doors and chinese authorities maintain almost total secrecy over the number of people sentenced to death amnesty international estimates that the number of death penalties in china is in the thousands. that would mean that china executed more people last year than all the countries in the world put together. in contrast to the us the time a prisoner spends in jail before their execution is often only

a few months. but conditions for death row prisoners are often inhumane. a shackled to the wall and tortured amnesty international has also cited reports of prisoners being executed without being able to say goodbye to their families. we have some football now and so far it has not been a good year for germany's national football team they were booted out in the group stage of the world cup twenty team they were then embroiled in scandal involving star player mesut ozil and now it's trying to reconnect with its fan base including those here and. it's the type of reception that germany team really gets these days five thousand cheering fans isn't bad considering the events of the past summer but not all that surprising either given tickets were distributed through berlin's youth football clubs hardly the toughest critics they flocked to get

a glimpse of their favorite stars do you remember watching tony cause the last minute thomas miller noir don't forget then to forget. even thomas miller a poster boy for germany's failings this summer and fall by munich's current struggles support for binds a clutch of national players isn't what it used to be. the result was the ins a shake up of the squad never happened but i guess it doesn't make sense to change twenty players. to all more dangerous needs a break he's had it is scope's is not good to us all so i would mix things up a bit more and bring in some younger players from different clubs. but the only genuine newcomer is a start but fans i'm most excited by leave royce sonny. you and brant and venom may have more experience but they get to produce their best for you if you live side. should and give up they need to play more easily the f. you up just need to do their thing and we'll win games. for the time being fans
