7:02 pm
with the fire comes a new danger smoke and it has reached san francisco where air pollution levels now rank among the highest in the world health warnings prompted widespread school closings even the city's main tourist attractions was shut. the smokes are jenna's some three hundred kilometers to the north the town of paradise has been reduced to ashes it's the epicenter of california's deadliest ever wildfire and the death toll is likely to rise. search and rescue workers are trying to find any sort of a mainstay that could help identify those missing. where you've you feel terrible for these people it's been devastating for them and i couldn't imagine coming back here this is my home. your whole proof that we if there are missing people we can find them and bring some closure to people that need that those affected are in

7:04 pm
volt is that bill air force base near sacramento california where president trump has just touched down mike what are people that hoping to hear from president trump on this visit good morning gets within the last few minutes here president trump just. disembarked off airport one was greeted by governor jerry brown and governor elect gavin newsome residents here i think is looking really for empathy and to feel like their story is being heard at a national level and i think adding the president to come out and see it firsthand it's the only way to truly get an idea of just what this devastation looks like so i think regardless of politics aside i think they'd like to see it more rather than a photo op actually truly understanding what the situation is is here and know that california yeah. i'm sorry to interrupt you but you're in that region was hit by the fire was one of the community then made out of
7:05 pm
a some credibly difficult wake. the community is really that in a certain point right now everyone is just trying to figure out where they need to go to refill people are returning to only they are they may not have known that they're returning to and they're trying to figure out what those next steps are going to be so at this point a lot of the communities looking for donations of any kind of the children are looking to go back to school where they don't have classrooms. so really wherever they can find kind of charity from from their their fellow fellow residents is what they're looking for at this point and the numberless number of people unaccounted for has jumped to more than a thousand now why was that number so high. the number it's really to a quite a bit and the few county sheriff as it has told people not to get too married to that number as. there can be duplicated some of them old nine one one
7:06 pm
call the number is turning no given being your part you like to start but the noise behind the green one is taking on what the president. there you know their baby or you from the air. i think the number is thirty as. much of the population is over sixty. days old they could be a mobile so i think concern is that the death toll will rise from that number. well we'll be watching that closely might the hold a deal if will a space near sacramento california thank you. and the cia believes saudi arabians powerful crown prince mohammed bin solomon ordered the killing of journalist jamal khashoggi that's according to a report in the washington post citing sources familiar with the matter the u.s. has vowed that those found responsible will be held accountable u.s. president donald trump says he's not yet been briefed on the cia findings he has
7:07 pm
consistently denied having any involvement but now mohammed bin salomon is firmly in the spotlight of blame the washington post says the cia has concluded saudi arabia's de facto is directly tied to the killing of jamal and is briefing the u.s. government about his involvement calling him volatile and arrogant. a critic of the saudi government and called a mist for the washington post was killed at the saudi consulate in istanbul will not tell you the second when he went back to pick up documents he needed to his marriage to a turkish woman. the crown prince has so far evaded direct accusations and vowed to bring the killers to justice. first of all the crime was really painful to all saudis believe it is painful to every human in the world it is a humorous crime that cannot be justified. but these latest
7:08 pm
developments put his position in doubt the washington post says that the cia reached its conclusions after examining sources of intelligence including a phone call that the prince's brother the lead bin selman made took a short she on mohammed bin salmond's command in the phone call her lead to the saudi ambassador to the u.s. is said to have encouraged to go to the consulate with assurances he would be safe to do so the leaders vehemently denied any such claims on twitter he said i never talked to him by phone and certainly never suggested he go to turkey for any reason because shock she's visit to the consulate and in his death but the washington post says it isn't clear whether knew he would be killed the developments are likely to complicate president trump's efforts to preserve ties with his key ally trump has so far resisted pinning the blame for the killing on mohammed bin solomon he might not be able to hold to that if the cia's position is that the crown prince himself
7:09 pm
ordered a murder. now that some of the other stories making news around the world rallies have been held across the netherlands to protest against a controversial christmas character called black hate dutch tradition dictates that santa claus arrives in mid november accompanied by help is why people can paint their faces black and wear winks opponents say it's paid only racist while supporters claim it's a key part of the tradition. and on land cargo rocket has blasted off from the u.s. state of virginia its cat carries much needed supplies for the international space station and comes hours after a shipment by the russian space agency in october the last manned mission had to perform an emergency landing and was unable to deliver supplies. and thousands have turned out in hong kong for the city's annual pride parade marches demonstrated for equal rights and an end to discrimination against the community
7:10 pm
hong kong judges recently ruled that same sex partners are entitled to visas even though the territory does not recognize same sex unions. but in france more than two hundred thousand people have taken to the streets to protest against the rising cost of fuel one protester was killed earlier today by accident when she was run over by a car the demonstrators are wearing trademark yellow safety vests as a symbol of opposition to president mccomas reform policies which include higher taxes on gasoline and diesel drivers of blocking k. roads across the country from his interior minister says there are protests at more than one thousand locations. well let's bring in dana reporter in essex has been following this story for us i mean this is the biggest protest against president micron's policy is what's happening right now it's hard to get as you like an idea of the scope of these protests because it involves thousands of people thousands of different locations around the country nobody really has a sense of how big it is at this moment of course all eyes on paris right now
7:11 pm
because there's a major confrontation between protesters are marching and police we don't have an idea of how many are injured but there have been a few people taken into custody there's also been blockades at airports and to lose the airport was was blocked police also used tear gas to evacuate people from a tunnel between under the alps so really different ways to try to shut down the country today and of course there was a woman who was killed person was killed when a woman drove her car into a crowd after she panicked she was surrounded by protesters she panicked and there was this unfortunate so it's a huge protest but it wasn't organized by a union or political party what's the story behind this fascinating story because it was organized almost exclusively on social media the kind of social media movement goes back to the end of last year when kohl proposed rather passed a hike in diesel taxes which hit
7:12 pm
a lot of people but then it became serious in october when the price of gas went up which caused a real increase in gas prices starting headache hitting the wallets of people in france people started posting facebook videos calling on other people to post facebook videos and to create kind of a movement to protest the new policies and so you had a lot of activity coming out of that and also a facebook group got created to organize a protest today november seventeenth they created this interactive map which shows actually all the spots in france where the protests are going to happen this was a crowd source this was made by just several people who didn't even know each other unfair. spoke and it allowed people to create this sort of like groundswell of protests throughout france and you can see these yellow dots are those. which are the little safety traffic safety vests that all french people have in their cars. there are some concerns that these protests could get out of hand is that looking
7:13 pm
likely of course no one really knows what's going to happen because there's no actual leader the far right and the far left have endorsed the protest with the far right actually handing out flyers but there is no kind of organization who can call off the protests that big they become too violent or get out of hand on the other hand that also means that nobody knows what's going to happen after today with the there's a chance that it could just fizzle out since there is no real political organization behind thanks for bringing us up to speed there the reason i'm in s. if. my intent is germany's number one alexander is fair it has shocked legendary player roger federer to make the final of the a.t.p. finals in london the twenty one year old won the first set seven five but was dealt a blow early in the second when federer broke his so the spirit rallied to win the second set in a tie break he will now face either novak djokovic kevin anderson for the trophy.
