forces started gathering new man bed earlier this week the kurdish y p g militia there damascus to intervene turkey views the wife e.g. as terrorists him has threatened to attack the town. when earlier we spoke to our correspondent in beirut about the presence of the syrian army in man bitch but it's very clear the syrian soldiers are on the ground right now they're poised at a city and flag it is not yet nor how many of them are there yet but it's also to a certain extent it's relevant because on this side of the border which is in syria the two major players now since the u.s. has announced that it will be drawing its troops would be the syrian soldiers and the kurds and the girls have been invited to sit ins to come in the way b.g. has said that we are moving out of this area we would like the city of forces to come in and avoid a turkish invasion that because the kurds know once the americans leave they will not be in a position to give
6:03 pm
a fight to the turkish forces bought the sit in government backed by the russians and the iranians can our correspondent there speaking to us now here in germany the armed forces say they are having a tough time filling their ranks and now the government in berlin is touring up plans to recruit nationals from other e.u. countries while reports in the german media say the defense minister left on the line is especially looking to recruit poles italians and romanians who live in germany and speak the language the german military or has stepped up its recruitment efforts as part of a broader reset is pressure on but it has increased since u.s. president donald trump and nato allies that washington could withdraw support if europe did not boost military spending. and our political correspondent kate brady is covering this story she joins me now kate what do you make of those reports and how significant would this movie. it certainly would be
6:04 pm
a significant move indeed and this would also mean a big change for the german military act of course for the past sixty one years of the german military's existence the bundeswehr only german citizen citizens have been able to serve germany in the military so this would be a significant move but of course this isn't the first time that we've heard this idea here in germany it was already proposed in the german defense ministry white paper almost two years ago which sets out future plans for the german military and of course there are already several other smaller e.u. countries which already recruit some troops from around the e.u. block so this isn't a completely new idea but would certainly be a significant move for japanese military and will kind of people is the army looking for and what conditions to they have to fill. well really what we've been hearing from the german defense ministry so far is that is very much specialist
6:05 pm
that they would be targeted so that's i t specialist doctors medics but the conditions which they would have to fulfill in order to serve in the german military aren't yet so clear but of course a good grounding in the german language would of course be a prerequisite without a doubt and kate the fact that germany needs to look outside for recruits i mean surely that must raise concerns about the state of its army. well it's absolutely no secret it's all that germany's military germans defense is just not in a good shape at the moment and hasn't been for several years now. barely a month goes by when. stories about lack of personnel and lack of equipment aren't hitting the german headlines and this is become an increasing problem and the german defense ministry is certainly trying to get back to where they were some years ago of course when the german government decided to end compulsory military
6:06 pm
service back in two thousand and eleven that has since had huge repercussions for the military in terms of personnel and they've been trying ever since to come up with creative ways to entice people to join the military and of course this idea that we're hearing now is day about opening german military two of the e.u. countries would certainly be a possible solution to try and ease that pressure on personnel and boost and increase numbers in the german military or political correspondent kate brady good to talk to you thanks kate. and now some of the other stories making news around the world british authorities have intercepted a group of migrants attempting to cross the channel from france to england british broadcaster sky news says the migrants were taken to hospital to be treated for hypothermia british authorities are blaming smuggling gangs for a recent surge in small boat crossings. israeli author

million registered voters could be affected by the delay protesters however see the decision has more to do with politics than safety bottled up because they need to get us another president who will govern this country and if that doesn't happen we shall create chaos starting from today until a solution is found if it calls for us to die then so be it. or not go fuck the president he's so angry yet is joseph kabila in power since two thousand and one and now stepping aside the ebola affected region getting its vote postponed is a stronghold for opposition to could be the and his preferred candidate emmanuel rama zani should dari should dari faces twenty one opposition candidates martin fi ulu is one of the leading contenders. i. can do. this in the.
