a possible offensive on man bridge. the kurds meanwhile requesting and receiving help from syrian government forces backed by russia. a potentially explosive situation says one local expert out of court that will fight over money could lead to an uncontrollable military escalation it's not just about turkey and the kurds there is a much larger conflict in the background between international powers which use syria for their own means namely turkey and russia off. as tensions mount to the people of man bench have little choice but to wait and see how the interests of these international powers play out let's have a closer look at the situation in syria with data for he joins me from beirut and all the syrian government has sent troops to mandates just as turkish backed syrian opposition forces are also moving into position why is the city so important. well
10:04 pm
it's important because the syrian kurds have wanted a contiguous territory from kabbani all the way to offer in which borders turkey because they wanted independence or at least autonomy just on the lines of what the iraqi kurds have and mum beaches in the middle of the standard now they've lost up and now they've lost mamby despair this is a problem for the turks because the turks do not want a kurdish military force to be strong on their border because they see them as terrorists within turkey there are such lists garnish forces there are there is a group called the which. are the same so they don't want to seem to be entity a bigger part of to be strong on their border this is that as a security threat. right and today russian and turkish ministers stressed the things that they both want and said that they work together but they've got very different agendas in syria there will always have very different agendas but they

were also found ways to corporate you've seen that and do mine who turn also it live so it seems that even this time around they are figuring out a way as to how to give turkey what it what it wants and russia trying to figure out how to keep the city or. united nation as a naacp's separate parts so when the turkish foreign minister says that really fighting terrorists he doesn't mean isis really he means the y.p. ji now they have not shared the d.d. is a particularly dealing with the kurdish forces on the ground yet but it seems that they're working on some sort of an understanding. where u.s. troops haven't even left yet now looks like syria's already in the process of being carved up by outside powers what's this going to do for the region. you know there's always been the fear that after the war when the war finally ends will syria. be all carved up will it be divided we see that in the north of syria which fortress turkey you've got on the ground although the areas are still being controlled by that city and rebels such as. me and bob so
10:06 pm
there's a bit of what will happen in these areas where there is another theory that possibly won't be divided although different countries by proxy will call shots in these areas although with american now leaving it appears that east areas like iraq and other syrian government and the kurdish forces there will crack some sort of an understanding it may not be autonomy for the kurds but something which allows that area to be a part of a united syria but give the kurds a little bit more power but these details they get to come and show for in beirut thank you. the tensions are running high in bangladesh as the country prepares for general elections on sunday prime minister shaikh has seen a has seeking her third consecutive term in office and her foot forth over all the opposition says thousands of their supporters have been arrested by authorities and
