shutdown the president's approval rating has hit an all time low he was increasingly accused of being out of touch with the ordinary people. but despite all criticism trump has not given up on the border wall just yet republican and democrat lawmakers will now negotiate in order to find a mutually agreeable solution for border security and trump already made clear should he not be satisfied with the outcome the shutdown could continue. i spoke to our correspondent in washington earlier and i asked her why trump was backing down now. well it was an interesting confluence of events one of which was the chaos in specifically the northeast of the country that occurred during the day on friday early in the morning several major airports had to basically shut down for a little while because of staffing issues due to the due to the shutdown there were

people who simply weren't showing up to work and the airports couldn't function and that was one factor and the other factor was just the blame being placed upon the republicans and specifically trump for all these very negative effects that we solve rippling throughout the country because it wasn't just the government workers who were going without paychecks it was the small businesses in their towns are suddenly weren't getting any money because people can buy things and the poll numbers for the president were just in an avalanche downward it was really clear that people were not supportive of what was going on so after. feel both sides of congress sort of smacked each other's versions of opening the government down they were able to meet behind the scenes and then present basically what was exactly the same plan that we saw on the table in december before all of this started. as you know the twitter president at times i want to bring in a tweet from a conservative commentator ann coulter who tweeted good news for george herbert

dollars for border wall with mexico and that missing key piece was something that the president has said he now needs and is possibly going to shut the government down again in three weeks because of this but we are basically back to exactly the same place where we were at the beginning december something that started again because of one of em coulter's tweets ok my waiter in washington thanks so much for that. the ferry to over for germany at the handball world championships millions of people here had been gripped by handball fever as co-host germany ratchet up their victories but their run came to an end when they were knocked out by norway in friday's semifinal. germany got off to the better start to take an early three one lead. but no way were on face and forth their way back.
