korea has expressed confidence real progress can be made at a summit later this month between donald trump and kim jong un but special envoy stephen beacon also cautioned there was still work to be done ahead of the talks trungpa said the second meeting between the two leaders will be held in the vietnamese capital. it's the seventy first anniversary of the korean people zomi and something to celebrate for north korea's leader kim jong il while the u.s. was buzzing with anticipation about the forthcoming summit he was saying nothing to go to washington jr unsure what he wanted to do. in washington president trump was convinced the great times lay ahead for north korea if the summit is a success it will become a great economic powerhouse he tweeted it will become a different kind of rocket an economic one. trump believes there are grounds for optimism returning from pyongyang is envoy doing the groundwork for the summit met

south korea's foreign minister and said talks with the north had been productive but he added a note of caution. president is very much looking forward to taking the next steps we have some hard work to do with the d.p. r. k. between now and then. and i'm confident that if both sides stay committed who can make real progress or. maybe going to school to have discussed a specific it's all movement steps that north korea could promise of the vietnam summit and what corresponding measures the united states would be willing to take that would be in advance of the first summit where kim jong un pledged to work towards the complete deed nuclearize ation of the korean peninsula but did not provide a clear timetable. what do you call a shipping company without ships just another day of wreck that news and may all sound funny but with less than two months to go until the united kingdom is said to leave the european union and still no plan agreed on the situation is getting
6:07 pm
harder and harder to laugh for the latest on the wrexham drama we turn to william no uncle left. great britain post threats the shipping plans got torpedoed today and what happened that's frightening calls today the government the u.k. government had to announce that it was killing its eighteen million dollar deal with a shipping company that had no ships you heard me correctly shipping company no ships and this is something the u.k. government actually knew about when they made the deal at the end of december the u.k. company's called seaborne freight and has since become quite a target of ridicule in fact there was a twitter parody account set up back when the deal was first announced twitter account is called seaborne fright we have some of it here you can see that the feed is full of tweets ribbing the company and also the u.k. transport transit secretary a transport secretary chris grayling here's one tweet about strategic planning we are talking about we all have our towels and let's all get together and and talk
6:08 pm
about how we're going to make this company work with a great photo of we can see here great photo of their strip. fleet bats have boats and then we have another tweet where they are offering up fake tickets for rides on nonexistent ferries to attract followers on this fake twitter account so the transport department was sticking by their story they're defending the decision and they said the problem wasn't actually the british company without the tweet without the ships it was the irish company behind them with the ships this irish company was backing the british company they pulled out and once they pulled out the u.k. government said that seaborne would not reach its contractual requirements go figure no ships no contractual requirements but regular critics of course couldn't help but notice the irony in the u.k. reaching out to an irish an e.u. based company for its plans to get out of the e.u. we have a tweet from a british legal scholar he tweets a stupid idea done stupidly that ended up being canceled after waste of time energy
6:09 pm
and money the seaborne freight for go could be a perfect metaphor for bret's that if only we saw sense now there's been calls for grayling's resignation but he said no tax money actually traded hands in this deal but it definitely sums up the frustration and disbelief that a lot of people are feeling on both sides of the english channel and that's a feeling that doesn't just apply to shipping deal gone wrong you know this is definitely a metaphor for breakfast as we saw in that tweet it's becoming increasingly unclear how we're going to avoid a no deal breck said march twenty ninth which both sides say they want to avoid both sides say they want to deal they want to preserve an open border especially here in specially in ireland which is a very sensitive border with security concerns but he was saying we're not negotiating anymore and the u.k. is saying well we are want to keep the border open but find a way to maintain. staying outside of the e.u. so that seems a bit of a conundrum enough for the next seven weeks are going to be about thank you.

before we give you the latest berlin i'll dave let's think a look at all of the results so far from the bundesliga games this week at. leaders dortmund threw away a three goal lead at home to hoffenheim european hopefuls like they can find for and played out a goal a strong hand over climbed off the bottom by beating fellow strugglers norm byrne when she got lost at home for the first time a season fibered came from behind three times to draw with wells fargo byron host shot to later today and in the friday game they were close and thrashed months they're also two games on sunday time to talk movies it's day three of the berlin wall of the berlin film festival and today the controversy surrounding hollywood star liam neeson took center stage a few days ago in an interview promoting his new revenge thriller cold pursuit to liam neeson confessed that he once set out to kill a black man after a friend told him she was raped and said her attacker was black musicians remarks
6:11 pm
triggered widespread condemnation with many calling the actor racist today a burly nala of berlin all oppressive and cold pursuit director hans fatah moland and i actors telling scars guard came to me since defense take a listen he's a very honest and he's a very decent. grounded. he's not a racist. i think most people more people should read the articles. or buttered over people under their words instead of listening to all of the twitter routes around that. frightening to live in a world where you even get punished for what you think but most of all you get punished for what people think you think. so let me take you to berlin ali's red carpet and our reporter on the n.s.a. high on weed and director hunts phantom oland is important not to promote the liam

neeson thriller called pursuit but another film out stealing horses tell us about that one. well that's right if if he wanted to get away from the controversy this film could be a big distraction it is a vast epic film about a father and son relationship it's about human fragility it's everything you could want in a norwegian film lots of snow lots of silence the heavy voice of the narrator taking you through the whole film it stars astelin scars court who is a friend. and and very well known the norwegian actor and it's he plays an old man who goes out into the countryside seeking solitude trying to get away from the memories of his past but of course with human fragility it's one becomes conscious of the fact that one cannot escape memories of childhood. german director

fathi hakim is returning to the early no with a new film what did you think about the golden globe. well without giving away too much and i'm not allowed to give my personal opinion about the film until it's actually premiered but i can say objective leave that this is a disgusting film that is the subject of the film as she would discuss it follows fritz who's probably a lot younger than he looks just like the actor is twenty three playing a forty something year old man who is an alcoholic just a rumpled guy goes to bars everybody in the film is an alcoholic and wouldn't be giving anything away to say that he's a serial killer because you see that in the first scene that follows his story shows how he's able to cover up these murders of people who just don't matter to society basically hiding them in his apartment and it goes unaware that everybody's living around him just because of the filth now this is said in germany in the seventy's this was a time of economic boom but it depicts the lives of people who were not benefiting from this boom were dragged down by poverty and alcoholism. king on the berlin wall
