what's your story. i'm working on was about women especially are victims of violence. take part and send us your story you are trying always to understand this new culture. another visitor another years you want to become citizens. in so migrants your platform for reliable information. this is d.w. news asia coming up on the program fresh fears of an all out confrontation in kashmir after india launches overnight their strikes against a militant count inside pakistan china has called for restraint and as the kimock junk express rolls into vietnam ahead of his second historic summit with donald trump we'll look at what acts were stake for south korea. and from ways

to wonder india's capital now has an eyeful tower made of scraps. i'm melissa chana thank you for joining the program great to have you with us it is the biggest flare up between the two nuclear powers in almost fifty years over night indian fighter jets crossed into pakistani airspace believed to be the first time that's happened since the two sides fought a war in one thousand nine hundred seventy one over the kashmir border region both countries co it minister parts of it disputed since the end of the british empire india claims the strikes killed hundreds of militants focused on says there were no casualties tensions have been rising since a mill. a tent bomb attack on
5:32 pm
a bus killed forty indian troops in kashmir earlier this month india blamed pakistan for the bombing but the pakistani government said it had nothing to do with the attack and issued a warning against india on television footage and what any of it is even think about the fact that they can harm a country yet the people. who take them by our armed forces and began the know how to protect our nation we don't have any bad intention to any other country. that we've known in the finances ladies and gentlemen anything thank you very much . our correspondent in new delhi soni sally current spoke with professor happy man jacob a specialist in india's foreign policy she began by asking him how significant today's strikes in pakistani kashmir are if it indeed has been carried out the baby broken some of my time this is probably the first time since ninety seven you wanted it
5:33 pm
you have gone and you mean by this time i mean this is pretty bad thank you mean in many ways. clearly this is all. about to notify you of. the twenty six you thought you could strike the criticism because microsoft being the putative in nature. of the ministry of external affairs for this morning striking out. to you i don't necessarily believe you. get pm keep going one notch higher by getting this out. you've got you've gone one step one more step for the thing you're looking at. i'm going to see them get ready to strike against pakistan this morning yes so i think of this for the more but it's all about what doesn't. because it's a piece for the governor's office. and easy you don't like to see this is never going to happen. the first time since nine hundred seventy one what do you think
5:34 pm
the potential for me is to me. to be happy to tell you. you know this just actually announced pakistan that you know sort of yesterday the situation in your pockets indeed. there are are these boards of the indians are prepared to be there have their employer borosilicate and systems in place to have this strike aircraft to have better systems in place so the indian cities do how people has to remember i do on dates they are you prepared for it on the spot by the buckets i. doubt it would be because people the park is on the side but if it indeed does nor our strike by could be against all for our stated strike and it's a hard line it's going to be a problem for bob it's not in many ways one it's all of the media's going to focus on you drop on to a small pond it has been an assumption that even get daddy's out
5:35 pm
a strike against pakistani writers of about say you're ok with me to a four point five there's about a nuclear lever you because of a car strike but that gets poured more importantly elvis or floyd many green shorts because i think everybody in minot really pedia sort of might so i think. it would be a temptation in pakistan at this point of time to read. that was happy man jayco speaking to sonia found the car now kim jong un has arrived in vietnam ahead of the second summit between north korea and the united states the challenge for the two sides will be to come up with tangible results this time many considered the first summit in singapore nothing more than a photo op for one trump and kim will need to agree on what denuclearization actually means on this they have been talking past each other with the north often to dismantle one nuclear complex but the american saying that is not enough.
5:36 pm
there's now also the possibility that trump and tim might issue a joint declaration to end the korean war no peace treaty was ever signed after fighting ended in one thousand fifty three and heavily armed soldiers still patrol the border separating the north and south all parties involved in the conflict would have to agree to peace south korea's president has said he supports the move it would pave the way for the north to give up its nuclear weapons each of which was on his arm on. us north korea summit was an achievement which will be a milestone in world history and your views on this second summit will go one step farther you can once you have i expect it to be a charming party that's advances complete denuclearization of the korean peninsula new u.s. north korea relations and a peaceful regime on the korean peninsula. it's not just south korea's leaders who
5:37 pm
will be paying close attention to events and hanoi here's what people in seoul had to say about the upcoming summit. if the regime completely dismantle its nuclear weapons program i would hope the unification but if there is a hidden agenda and we go ahead without exposing it then i'm against it so we don't even go on the run after the korean war happens again or third north and south will turn into a sea of fire and we will all die. i had a bad image of north korea when i was young but recently but has changed. joining me now is professor stephan haggard a career expert at the university of california at san diego seven tell us what role south korea has in any of this. actually a quite big role president moon has been keyed in getting us to where we are with the so called a limb big gamble getting the north koreans to convert to the winter olympics and
5:38 pm
that set in train the summit's now after this the south koreans also want to play a role in trying to integrate the two koreas as part of the larger peace deal. and they're also talks that trump and kim might actually declare an end to the war if they do so does that mean at peace between the north and south as well or what process do they have to do with the sole well there's some there's some technical details about which parties would actually be a signatory to such a declaration the signatories to the armistice include the military forces of china that u.n. command and north korea actually not south korea but obviously south korea would have to be a party to such a declaration but then i that's really an aspirational document if they sign something like that because the actual peace treaty that would end the war and
5:39 pm
replace the armistice would take some time to negotiate how long would that take and also the south korean president has certainly weighed in and said that he believes a declaration would help pave the way for kim to get rid of his news do you believe that. it's one small bit i don't think it's the most consequential thing the north koreans are really looking in the end for sanctions relief but this could be a goodwill gesture or it's possible they would sign something like that but again a legal document that would actually replace the armistice is months if not years away an american president isn't going to sign a peace treaty with the north koreans while they still have a significant nuclear capability. now when tom started his presidency outgoing president barack obama had said that north korea was the biggest geo political problem facing the united states that was two years ago are we in a safer place today. well i'm supportive of the summit process obviously
5:40 pm
trumpet's been somewhat destabilizing with respect to us all on its relations in the region but he didn't take this risk of trying to open a channel of communication and as far as i can see we're better off than we were at the end of the obama administration when basically nothing was happening on the diplomatic front professor stephan haggard thank you my pleasure now india's capital new delhi is home to twenty nine million people and as the city continues to grow so to its rubbish problem but a group of artists has found an interesting way of dealing with the city's mountains of waste they've built a theme park that turns trash to treasure have a look at the newly opened waste to wonder park. the eiffel talent is looking a little rusty so to the statue of liberty the egyptian pyramids the coliseum
5:41 pm
and the taj mahal. that's nice surprise these versions of the seven wonders of the world have been constructed from waste material the city of new delhi had truckloads of old pipes car parts and disused machines delivered to artists that's when the conversion started. we need to use what we have and we were fix we are going to do this only if. it is going to be lonely there are not going to be anything else so yeah. they will make brought out i. welding mending sculpting that work has now been completed less involved are hoping the so-called waste to want to park will become a major tourist attraction it has certainly transformed the landscape when we started working here we started digging up the floor and we realized it was a landfill site and that's where the horror started you know you're in the middle of monsoons this is august last year and we've been digging it up and everywhere
5:42 pm
there's just plastic. the theme park is a statement against consumerism food for thought for visitors and it's a place for some to live out their dreams like this a local journalist who could almost be reporting live from paris or these indian eagles who perched on top of the eiffel tower seem to have discovered the gone double. there's more on line on our website www dot com ford slash asia and don't forget to check out g.w. news on facebook as well we'll leave you with pictures of kim jong un arriving in vietnam he crossed the border after a long train journey across china under tight security schoolchildren waved north korean flags and a military honor guard greeted him will see you next time. to
