victims. of the prime minister is also promising to tighten new zealand's gun laws is it safe to assume that now there'll be a lot of support for such a measure. that's right she came out right away with a promise saying that new zealand would get a tighter gun laws that has been endorsed today by the police association they said it's essential to act quickly to instate any sort of legislation here unless the gone gun lobby get involved in a way that it has like in the united states now in new zealand compared to the us has tighter gun control laws but compared to the rest of the western world actually fairly lax laws and after the events. after the massacres at the two mosques there is a lot more public support here to tighten those laws particularly after it became known that the gunman was legally in possession of five firearms including two semiautomatic weapons it's. here that the police but also some members of the
