the condors league is a rising stance on. i . cannot go out and i will not succeed in dividing the shadow not succeed in taking the people off the streets because we're tired of this dictatorship. taking a stand global lose that matters. made for margins. this is news africa coming up in the next 15 minutes sudan's opposition movement it's brave and determined thousands across the country again mobilized and protested despite internet distractions and death rates backs against the civilian good governments they are demanding. and the woman putting the brakes on gender biased in senegal will take you under the hood into cars only female auto workshop

. trip to the difficult news i'm really proud to be able to do a man's job i'm so proud when i think in vehicle that doesn't what i now have to fix and now my big dream is to have my own company to get our own business. i'm christine wonderwall come to a news africa i'm glad you're tuned in our hopes office civilian government in sudan fading before we look for answers to that question its look at the events that led pro-democracy supposes to defy the ruling generals yesterday marked the 50th anniversary of the coup that brought president bashir to poly in sudan the army ousted him in april off to months of demonstrations so what's changed is so.
8:32 pm
then well sunday was also the deadline set by the african union force a duns military council to hand over control to civilians that ultimatum came and went and negotiations are at a standstill and month on june the a brutal crackdown on thousands camped outside the army his forces left spools of push his just date now the pressure is just off back off to deadly clashes at the weekend on sunday hundreds of thousands of people again took to the streets demanding the military hand of a control to civilians all right i'm now joined by my colleague a ybor him welcome back to africa a of the demand on the part of the protesters on the part of the opposition leaders is a civilian led government for the next 3 years before there's a general election looking at where we are today how realistic or likely is that outcome that's very hard to tell because at this point especially if we look at the exchanges between the military transitional council and the civilians in the past
8:33 pm
couple of days doesn't seem like either side is really ready to come back to the table since the violence of june 13th the crackdown on the sit in in front of the army headquarters negotiations have sort of fallen completely the 2 sides are not communicating directly they're communicating. and african union media tonight so you know my sense is that the question is perhaps it's unclear if they're even willing to come to the table let alone. talk about breakdown between military and civilian on the council they had had reached a kind of agreement before this violence but the military had even announced that it was stropping all of the points of agreement that the negotiations had reached at that point so it's unclear exactly what's going on there ok you talked about the e.u. and we know that yesterday a deadline set by the possum this was a deadline for the military transitional council to appoint a civilian that government. what are the implications off missing that deadline we
8:34 pm
know that as it stands saddam has been suspended from the body because of what happened on the change that but what is this what is this missing the date i mean essentially i mean the aid has not come out and said an official sort of. opinion as to what the consequences are but we can assume that the suspension then still stands and that sudan's membership will still continue to be suspended however it doesn't seem like sudan is a silly bothered by this the military council does have regional support from other countries egypt saudi arabia the u.a.e. and it seems that at the moment the country is really caught up with this this is now basically just a crisis and how to get out of this sort of like it's a brick wall yeah it's heating that pickle it's complex you have because you have you've got the military that the often so talk about you also have what they call the the rapid support forces right so these sort of 2 power ways just explain the dynamic and what the implications for what's going on in the country right now so
8:35 pm
it's difficult to get for for sort of western viewers through to 2 religions so the rapid support forces are essentially a paramilitary force that up until 2015 were really part of the government these have their roots and. militias that the al bashir regime had used in darfur to essentially crack down on the insurgencies there and experts have been warning for years that these militias and the power that they're reaching centrally a ticking time bomb in sudan so in 2015 around that time bashir actually then upgraded we need as a militia into a paramilitary force called the rapid rapid support forces and he at the time make sure that they would be sometimes under the command of the military but sometimes under the command of the national security apparatus as well and they were sort of his enforcers. you know when it became clear that there was not going to say
8:36 pm
anymore there about that support forces and their leader hannity turned against turned against here so that's why you need your review with the question whose interest is the military council really protecting is its own the people or the rapid support forces because these 3 things are not always the same ok as always thank you. our next story is in senegal way a female run workshop is breaking down gender barriers and fixing cars at the same time or to the workshop was founded by a woman who is a passionate mechanic that's inspiring other women to pick up the spent. this is no ordinary to repair work shop in the heart of the car discourage is run by a woman employs women and trains aspiring female mechanics. has

8:38 pm
future she was our target seem to be women making sure that the big girls are running smooth i mean some young women mechanics working once they get married uscis preferred jobs that are less physically demanding. but there are those who see this work as a great way of being financially independent. fed difficult i'm really proud to be able to do a man's job and i am so proud when i see a vehicle that doesn't walk and i know how to fix it now my big dream is to have my own company and it's also quba stream she always pushes us to get our in business so. then combusts workshop is never short of business. i really trust them with my car it's reassuring to
8:39 pm
see women taking care of everything and it's easy to communicate with them i believe we'll see more and more women mechanics. but with the chorus industry seeing repeat growth all sinegal is drivers ready to have the vehicles fixed by women. the world works like this now there is no longer a profession dedicated only to men or profession dedicated only to women. since the concept of parity exists there are no more do not enter signs for women want to. know more about this very mark cuban from you forever honestly i pity them its hard work i respect their choice but i can't that women fix my car. even though there is still a long way to go here at a farm that will keep fighting for female they can mix to be considered the norm in
