artist's welcome darcey culture for sure to be here in a moment i want to look at a clip of some of your visual arts because you're also a visual artist and before we do i'm curious to know if you have the same goals in both of these practice is the visual art i mean music absolutely i mean i make make our music the music stuff is all about resonance the visual work is also about resonance creating a life force the spirituality that. has the possible of the billy to get somebody else energy as well as well as myself so it's all about energy ok let's take a look this is from an exhibition you did in france is called constellation scores .

ok so that was a 3 d. lithograph collage obviously look different with the glasses that you had on and it would take you were reading it like a music score very much into the graphic score in a graphic score tradition so it's something i enjoy to do and for this particular set of works the 3 d. there's been so much done with print work and lithography and these things i was trying to figure out a way to pull pull the stuff off the wall without doing the actually pulling it off the wall with theme in your one theme in your work is this idea of synesthesia the right senses bleeding into each other can you hear your pictures i mean the usually i don't have i don't have seizures but i've been working for years through the mel that you've lived in brazil for 7 years while you were there you added some rain

forest sounds in general is that you also add in a lot of computer sounds to the dimensions let's have another stuart was in syria are you playing with a group called the south paolo underground. so you lived in sao paolo you've lived in chicago for the last years there you've been living and a small isolated town and the texas desert is called marfa and this is not your average texas town is it now i mean is the town basically you know that was the military for a while when that when the war was over. it behave in disrepair and one of my

favorite artists of all time donald judd a writer falls into the minimalist category of artists i guess for some people he had a vision of having permanent installation of his works like a. minded works so his art and the are from the really pulled me into the small town and i played chicago underground do a show there 10 years ago and just fell over the place now you new albums are just brought out a trilogy of new albums called the marfa trilogy how does living in a place like marfa texas in the middle of nowhere i think the nearest airport is 3 hours away how does that influence your work in these albums but what's so dynamic about the area not only is it in the middle of the desert close to the mexican border. it's the dynamic of the of the town itself with with the artists. visually literature poetry books. of film it's a very dynamic community this way and it's always somebody for me it's. a residency

around the big men so many people this guy who. was shouting something. to the from the bus and asking people what's happened what's what's this is mr her and they told us they did the burnin this is broken the wall is broken they will play you free. for 41 years germany it was a divided country from 961 until 989 a war even split into the western part was part of democratic west germany the east the poppy dong to communist east germany. other eastern bloc countries weren't free either the soviet union had the baltic states. by the late 1980 s. opposition to the soviet occupation was growing. better known as sam and his band. lithuanian independence and they were in verlyn when the war.

is was a symbol. is was a symbol for the us. to. the us was founded in 1987 the lyrics of the songs often criticized the soviet occupation taking artistic liberties they didn't actually have. made illegal. you need. to. say ok. you know. you. hired me. to interrupt getting his degree and served for 2 years in the soviet army by the time he returned to lithuania the restructuring.

people enjoyed more freedom in 1808 the music festival was held in the palace of concerts and. performed here. the fall of the berlin wall strengthened the fight for independence in the baltic states of estonia latvia and lithuania this struggle came to be known as the singing revolution at the lithuanian parliament barricade and the museum. reminders of that critical era. in 1990. the following january the soviets sent in troops they seized this press house for instance 14 civilians were killed. when russian troops is coming here i remember the tanks. and the soldiers and people standing and we play here and there who brought you seeing. and
