world's most valuable traded company worth well over a trillion dollars. and u.s. president donald trump has accused california governor gavin newsome of bad forest management as the state battles fears wildfires trump has said he made pull funding for emergency relief efforts and firefighting more than 4000 firefighters are involved in efforts to control the fires. saying the united states the presidential election there is a year away and donald trump could be heading for a tough race an average of all the opinion polls puts trump's approval rating at just above 41 percent but much more honestly for him almost 55 percent of americans disapprove of the job he's doing a key question is who will trump face in the 2020 election most polls predict that if it's former vice president joe biden trump will lose that many polls suggest the more progressive democratic candidate elizabeth warren could also have

a slight edge over trump opinion polls are one way of assessing which way the election could go another is to look at bellwether regions richland county and wisconsin has proved to be a reliable indicator since $980.00 the county has always voted for the winning candidate so g.w. correspondent all over solid traveled to richmond to gauge the mood. feeding time for dairy farmer mark stalls and his calves like most people in richland county stoltz voted for president trump in 2016 but twice for barack obama in the elections before this time he says the political mood is anything but clear we tend to we tend to like trust more than most people i don't i we don't talk a whole lot about it but it can get very testy very quickly even within our family i'm going to give give give give give give give give give give give give give give give give give give give me even though you voted for trump in the last election
9:09 am
mark stoltz cares of all the key democratic issues like health care and climate change he also wants an end to the president's trade more has hit farmers like him particularly hard he says so that that's hurt we don't have a good place to ship malchen way products and cheese and you know right now in the markets got a lot of milk and cheese on it and americans are drinking less milk wisconsin lost over $600.00 dairy farms in the last year. richland center with its 5000 citizens is the largest town in richland county a bellwether for the presidential election since 1980 the majority here has always voted for the winning candidate. richland county is traditionally a republican county. do we always vote that way you know i wouldn't vote for a i don't like him i think i think if he keep his mouth shut they often twitter he

would be fine i think it's with all the impeachment so if it's going to be very noisy and interesting for the next year but if i was betting today i would bet he'll get elected again. at the local newspaper editor dawn key 1st says left and right wing supporters in the county are fighting for the public's attention she is often criticized for printing opinion letters that are too critical of president trump. i suggest to those persons they ought to write letters their their own selves expressing their beliefs but most of those people declined and they don't explain why not i suspect they don't want their name in the paper. dairy farmer marks told says the decisive factor for him will be who the democratic contender is if they candidate is to progress that he might stick with donald trump even if that means more suffering for him and the farmers of richmond county.
9:11 am
and tyson barker from the aspen institute berlin joins me now in the studio thanks for being here tyson one of the big issues for american voters right now well it really depends on who you're talking about which voter for the democratic voters the number one issue is health care followed by the economy climate change taxes education for republican voters it still remains immigration security trade also the economy also for democratic voters the number one issue that keeps coming up in all these these debates that keep occurring is who can beat donald trump and that's a really ephemeral quality because it's all based on you know their policies on the way they come forward as a leader at sephora but you're really seeing a very segmented population it depends on the state it depends on your interest as we just heard you know dairy farmers and farmers across america are hurting because of the trade war so that's going to have an impact there's a lot of issues out there big country is a big country looking at the impeachment process and how is that going to hurt or
9:12 am
help democratic or republican candidates so far the impeachment process has still been a lot of inside baseball you've had these depositions that have taken place behind closed doors republicans have been pushing a line that's you know a critique of the process saying that it hasn't been transparent enough now there has been a vote to go forward with the impeachment inquiry in public with hearings where they'll call these witnesses to testify in public so now the process will become a lot more out in the open the question is really a question of timing how long is this beach a process going to last in the house and then how long is the trial going to last in the senate if we conclude this whole process before the end of the year which both the house and the senate are looking to do and this won't probably be an. issue next year unless of course he is impeached and removed we're going to coming back to the democrats the 1st test of the potential democratic candidates popularity comes in iowa new hampshire in a few months as you know. one of the 1st indications from polls as to who might be a front runner so again great bellwether states very interesting states
9:13 am
overwhelmingly white states overwhelmingly rural states and where you stand is where you sit a little bit in iowa the democratic population tends to be a little more liberal there's a big college population there and it's essentially a 4 way horse race all 4 of the top candidates are between 22 and 18 percent that's lisbeth warren bernie sanders joe biden and people detach and biden has been slipping in iowa which is somewhat of a problematic indicator for him in other states going forward in new hampshire it's a lot more about geography so we have senator bernie sanders from vermont the neighboring state and elizabeth warren from massachusetts the neighboring state both have a lot of infrastructure that they can flood into the state to kind of bring up their support in new hampshire so this is going to be quite interesting to see where this goes but again those states are not reflective of the entire population more nationally which is what's quite interesting is biden support continues to melt away but his base of support continues to be among african-americans and the

primary in south carolina is going to be decisive in that ok tyson barker has been in super lint thank you for that thank you. as you're watching news still to come. as germany prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the berlin wall we look at how the nation's capital has changed in the last 3 decades. and no to big news in the world of sports german football champion champions buyer nick have fired their coach nico co batch he led barnes to you german league title last season after the team lost 5 to one to frankfurt on saturday byron's board gave kovacs the pink slip this season the team has dropped to 4th place in the bundesliga. we are joined now by lima tuckey from sport. i thought sports was win some lose some he's fired after one game. and spoilt sports has

tipping points and the 51 humiliating loss against frank foote was a tipping point it was the last straw for nico but we've been building up to this moment for some time now there were signs. in their performances against welcome in the german cup just slightly edging by the side in the champions league against an impi cause and of course by and dropping points to smaller teams. like in the bundesliga and at the main argument against kovacs was that he really wasn't improving this team so the same problems as saskia we saw this year and they remained unresolved like the lack of stability the lack of an identity that he often doesn't have a plan b. he doesn't have a solution when the going gets tough and of course it also doesn't help that we have one of best buy and nick have one of the worst defensive records since the time of year in klinsmann and that was 11 years ago ok's are past league 10 now is

it safe to say that bargain is in crisis by in munich anything below spot number one is always a crisis so you know they standard is just so incredibly high. at the table iced i wouldn't need to give up on them because the table is so tight we just have 4 points that separate 1st place and 4th place and of course but but overall i would say that by and nick that their problems ahd deeper than just nickel colebatch and some of the past have also hinted at that let's take a look at humiliating 51 defeat on saturday against nico kovach his old club eintracht frankfurt it was simply too much for a buy in munich bosses who parted ways with the coach on sunday night kovacs his contract was supposed to run until the middle of 2021 the berlin born coach had been with the bavarian since july 28th scene and after a shaky start he won the league and cup double with biron in his 1st season but in

recent weeks have seen inconsistent results and discord within the team after the frankfurt debacle. this is what has happened is not a fluke because if you saw the cup game in talking last week with what has happened isn't really a big surprise to me it's from the reasonable rational superconscious be blind on getting a red card early in the guy just gets you all to count of nothing worked out. so now we are in a situation which we have to confront a woman drones on a little have to analyze things and talk about it but of course we have to change something on them even kovacs himself saw the need for improvement before learning of his sacking. ultimate i mean video is a marvelous we shouldn't be losing $51.00 we have to grasp is that sure was a man less it's going to be more difficult so when. something like that should never happen. now those same worries will be inherited by kovacs his successor in the hot seat at. her back now of course with the limited talking from d.p.

sports so coaches out. there several names making the rounds right now starting off with joe is a marine you know we know how successful he is but the big question is is his personality perhaps a bit too toxic fought by a new nick then we have max max and he of course is the problem the language by many prefer german speaking coach as he can't speak german and we have also know he does speak german but the question is is he will he come out of retirement is he the right fit in the long term we also have a 10 hot from who was the coach at i x. and we saw how incredible a run he made last year in the champions league but of course he won't be available until the sama and then we also have fun nick and we also see what he has done at leipsic how incredible he's been for the club but i don't know if they will necessarily get along with all these ego and big personalities and buy

a new nick but for the time being interim coach is handy flick and he will. also at the moment by a knicks assistant coach and most of us probably remember him as the assistant coach to you akim and of and germany back in 24000 when they won the world cup in brazil ok now your estimation can buy or stay here it's. uncertain times you know we see how up and down into the entire when disease is this season i say i wouldn't bet my money on it i say wait and see you cause by and right now all i know going a transition period both on and off the field we see it on the field with the vacuum that the likes of rebury and rob rob and half have left behind finding k.s. right now who are really playing on their potential aside from perhaps robert davidoff skin then of course off the field in the top management position early here in his will also leave later this month there's a big transition period coming up by

a new nick so i'm certain types ok thanks for that addict obviously mottaki sports . lewis hamilton has won his 6th formula one title after finishing 2nd in the us grand prix the mercedes driver is now just one title away from me have schumacher the all time record the 34 year old may be british but german engineering has been a major factor behind his success. lewis hamilton is world champion again having taken the title in the convincing style that has become routine. for me as crazy as every race a long time to a 7th year of the team. the excitement i had was the same as i had when i 1st got in the 4 car in 2008 driving with a mercedes engine for mclaren hamilton won his 1st world championship 5 years later he moved to mercedes with whom he has no 15 more titles even back in hamilton's karting days his success was powered by the german constructors engines that came

pictures even much is changed here in berlin since the wall fell and once divided city has been reunified but as we report some divisions remain. the center of berlin skyscrapers and tourists filled the streets but this was the death strip until 1909 as oh no belinda was allowed to enter get danica grew up in east berlin the war stood right next to his home this is where he started taking photos. when i was relatively operative i took my zoom lens and photographed it from far away. because it was strictly forbidden to take pictures of a border area that's going to resolve a few of. his pictures so berlin's radical transformation this wasteland has become germany's government quarter the city may change but some things stay the same
