well the german capital is revving up to mark 30 years since the fall of the berlin wall celebrations and commemorations have got underway at the brandenburg gate once the symbol of germany's division into east and west the w. political correspondent sumon young has been taking a look at preparations for saturday's festivities. the brandenburg gate is the centerpiece of these celebrations marking 30 years since the fall of the berlin wall the brandenburg gate that stood back then in 1909 in the death zone between east and west where nobody could cross and this is of course a commemoration of history and the sadness is that go with that but also of hope for the future above me you can see this colorful cloud of freedom as it's called earth $30000.00 strips of paper with people's hopes for the future written on them and they've suspended them here in this colorful art installation one of the many
