10:03 pm
for some time. we're joined now by olivia bees oh she was near the scene of today's incident in london a livia thank you for joining us it must have been of course a traumatic day there and what can you tell us about what happened what did you see . well i was on my way towards the bitch. and i was coming out on my bike i had explosions but at the time i didn't really assume that it was gunshots but then the police came and stopped all the cars and i thought it was because of construction i wasn't really thinking and then continued going straight onto the pavement and then all of a sudden floods oving credibly panic people are just hoarding towards me and literally sprinting for their lives and i was just so confused and didn't know what was happening and to start running with them and sort of asking what was going on and one of the people screaming it was gunshots it was gunshots and so that more
10:04 pm
people started running and it was just a massive tonneau sounds like a chaotic scene there i mean we understand also that the suspect was wearing some sort of fake explosive device did you see or hear anything related to that as people were running away was there a bigger fear that there could be a potential explosion on the bridge i think no one really knew what was going a lot of people were just sort of saying there was an explosion there were attacks that was something and everyone was just kind of running and didn't really know what they were running from a couple of he had actually seen what happened i personally didn't see the actual attack but i just saw all the people running away from him the mayor of london. he's praising the efforts of bystanders today he's calling them heroic what did you see him in how were citizens responding to the incident obviously there was panic but there also were people actually going towards the alleged attacker. yeah well
10:05 pm
that i only really understood afterwards because i didn't know what was going on i just saw people running towards me and so i just sort of continued going along with them and trying to figure out what was happening but obviously afterwards realizing and looking on the news and looking at twitter and seeing the people who had actually been involved in getting the knife from the man it's incredible and i think it's incredibly important to show that it sort of makes you cry and you know nastiness extreme panic. how people react as i do think it does so people to attack that and that some people actually went towards it to save people's lives and i think that's incredible and we've of course don't know the motive yet police saying this is being treated as a terrorist attack there was a similar attack in the same area and in 2017 as a londoner given all the political divisions in your city and in the u.k. right now how do attacks like this make you feel about your city. but i think fearful that then living in
10:06 pm
a city like london you always kind of know there's a whisk of something happening sort of especially in today's well that but it still is incredibly scary to think that it could have been you and others are now going to actually half an hour before it happens. so incredibly afraid but then again i also think there is a sort of sense of the general election never anything that's been going on in facts in this country i feel like the country is just so divided and so when you have something like this it is sort of a feeling afterwards of bringing everyone together in a sort of sense of. sort of solidarity amongst everyone i want to clear in their midst all the divisions that have been taking place in this kind of time and i will thank you very much for joining us to libya because though she was near london bridge today when that incident took place thank you for taking the time to speak with us. and there were reports now of another stabbing exact this time in the netherlands police in the hague say 3 people have been wounded in the stabbing
